We realize explicitly the well-known additive decomposition of the Hochschild cohomology ring of a group algebra in the elements level. As a result, we describe the cup product, the Batalin-Vilkovisky operator and the Lie bracket in the Hochschild cohomology ring of a group algebra.

In this paper, we study the Batalin-Vilkovisky structure on the Hochschild cohomology of quantum zigzag algebras $A_{q}$ of type $\widetilde{\mathbf{A}}_{1}$. We first calculate the dimensions of Hochschild homology groups and Hochschild cohomology groups of $A_{q}$. Based on these computations, we determine the Hochschild cohomology ring of $A_{q}$, and give the Batalin-Vilkovisky operator and the Gerstenhaber bracket on Hochschild cohomology ring of $A_{q}$ explicitly.
We determine the Batalin-Vilkovisky structure on the Tate-Hochschild cohomology of the group algebra $kG$ of a finite group $G$ in terms of the additive decomposition. In particular, we show that the Tate cohomology of $G$ is a Batalin-Vilkovisky subalgebra of the Tate-Hochschild cohomology of the group algebra $kG$, and that the Tate cochain complex of $G$ is a cyclic $A_{\infty}$-subalgebra of the Tate-Hochschild cochain complex of $kG$.

In this article, we extend our preceding studies on higher algebraic structures of (co)homology theories defined by a left bialgebroid (U,A). For a braided commutative Yetter-Drinfel'd algebra N, explicit expressions for the canonical Gerstenhaber algebra structure on Ext_U(A,N) are given. In this article, we show under what additional ingredients a comp (or opposite) module over an operad with multiplication can be given the structure of a cyclic k-module and how the underlying simplicial homology gives rise to a Batalin-Vilkovisky module over the cohomology of the operad. We show under what conditions the complex computing general Ext-groups carries the structure of a cyclic operad such that Ext becomes a Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra. This is achieved by transferring cyclic cohomology theories for the dual of a (left) Hopf algebroid to the complex in question, which asks for the notion of contramodules introduced along with comodules by Eilenberg-Moore half a century ago. The purpose of this paper is to explain and to generalize, in a homotopical way, the result of Barannikov-Kontsevich and Manin which states that the underlying homology groups of some Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras carry a Frobenius manifold structure. In this paper, we define the singular Hochschild cohomology groups $HH_{sg}^i(A, A)$ of an associative $k$-algebra $A$ as morphisms from $A$ to $A[i]$ in the singular category $D_{sg}(A\otimes_k A^{op})$ for $i\in \mathbb{Z}$. We prove that $HH_{sg}^*(A, A)$ has a Gerstenhaber algebra structure and in the case of a symmetric algebra $A$, $HH_{sg}^*(A, A)$ is a Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) algebra.
