The abstract notion of Tamarkin-Tsygan calculus with duality gives Batalin- Vilkovisky structures in a general setting. We apply this technique to the case of Van den Bergh duality for algebras to prove that Calabi-Yau algebras are BV-algebras.

Untwisting algebras with van den Bergh duality into Calabi-Yau algebras

Jake Goodman and Ulrich Krähmer have recently shown that a twisted Calabi-Yau algebra $A$ with modular automorphism $σ$ and dimension $d$ can be "untwisted," in the sense that the Ore extensions $A[X;σ]$ and $A[X^{\pm1};σ]$ are Calabi-Yau algebras of dimension $d+1$. In this note we show that this in fact extends more generally to the case where we start with an algebra with van den Bergh duality.

The Van den Bergh duality and the modular symmetry of a Poisson variety

We consider a smooth Poisson affine variety with the trivial canonical bundle over complex numbers. For such a variety the deformation quantization algebra A_h enjoys the conditions of the Van den Bergh duality theorem and the corresponding dualizing module is determined by an outer automorphism of A_h intrinsic to A_h. We show how this automorphism can be expressed in terms of the modular class of the corresponding Poisson variety. A remark on Hochschild cohomology and Koszul duality

Applying recent results by Lowen-Van den Bergh we show that Hochschild cohomology is preserved under Koszul-Moore duality as a Gerstenhaber algebra. More precisely, the corresponding Hochschild complexes are linked by a quasi-isomorphism of B-infinity-algebras.

Batalin--Vilkovisky algebra structures on the Hochschild cohomology of generalized Weyl algebras

This paper is devoted to the calculation of Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra structures on the Hochschild cohomology of skew Calabi-Yau generalized Weyl algebras. We firstly establish a Van den Bergh duality at the level of complex. Then based on the results of Solotar et al., we apply Kowalzig and Krähmer's method to the Hochschild homology of generalized Weyl algebras, and translate the homological information into cohomological one by virtue of the Van den Bergh duality, obtaining the desired Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra structures. Duality and products in algebraic (co)homology theories

The origin and interplay of products and dualities in algebraic (co)homology theories is ascribed to a $\times_A$-Hopf algebra structure on the relevant universal enveloping algebra. This provides a unified treatment for example of results by Van den Bergh about Hochschild (co)homology and by Huebschmann about Lie-Rinehart (co)homology.

Duality for Differential Operators of Lie-Rinehart Algebras

Let (S,L) be a Lie-Rinehart algebra over a commutative ring R. This article proves that, if S is flat as an R-module and has Van den Bergh duality in dimension n, and if L is finitely generated and projective with constant rank d as an S-module, then the enveloping algebra of (S,L) has Van den Bergh duality in dimension n+d. Koszul calculus of preprojective algebras

We show that the Koszul calculus of a preprojective algebra, whose graph is distinct from A$\_1$ and A$\_2$, vanishes in any (co)homological degree $p>2$. Moreover, its (higher) cohomological calculus is isomorphic as a bimodule to its (higher) homological calculus, by exchanging degrees $p$ and $2-p$, and we prove a generalised version of the 2-Calabi-Yau property.
