The Multiplicative Structure on Hochschild Cohomology of a Complete Intersection

We determine the product structure on Hochschild cohomology of commutative algebras in low degrees, obtaining the answer in all degrees for complete intersection algebras. As applications, we consider cyclic extension algebras as well as Hochschild and ordinary cohomology of finite abelian groups.

On the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of the cohomology of fusion systems and of the Hochschild cohomology of block algebras

Symonds' proof of Benson's regularity conjecture implies that the regularity of the cohomology of a fusion system and that of the Hochschild cohomology of a p-block of a finite group is at most zero. Using results of Benson, Greenlees, and Symonds, we show that in both cases the regularity is equal to zero.

Hochschild cohomology commutes with adic completion

For a flat commutative $k$-algebra $A$ such that the enveloping algebra $A\otimes_k A$ is noetherian, given a finitely generated bimodule $M$, we show that the adic completion of the Hochschild cohomology module $HH^n(A/k,M)$ is naturally isomorphic to $HH^n(\widehat{A}/k,\widehat{M})$. The Hochschild cohomology of square-free monomial complete intersections

We determine the Hochschild cohomology algebras of the square-free monomial complete intersections. In particular, we provide a formula for the cup product which gives the cohomology module an algebra structure and then we describe this structure in terms of generators and relations. In addition, we compute the Hilbert series of the Hochschild cohomology of these algebras.

Cup product on Hochschild cohomology of a family of quiver algebras

Let k be a field, q in k. We derive a cup product formula on the Hochschild cohomology ring of a family Lambda_q of quiver algebras. Using this formula, we determine a subalgebra of k[x,y] isomorphic to Hochschild cohomology modulo N, where N is the ideal generated by homogeneous nilpotent elements. We explicitly construct non-nilpotent Hochschild cocycles which cannot be generated by lower homological degree elements, thus disproving the Snashall-Solberg finite generation conjecture.

The Hochschild cohomology ring of the numerical semigroup algebras of embedding dimension two

Let $a$ and $b$ be two coprime positive integers and $k$ an arbitrary field. We determine the ring structure of the Hochschild cohomology of the numerical semigroup algebras $k[s^{a},s^{b}]$ of embedding dimension two (thus also complete intersections) in terms of generators and relations. In addition, we compute the Hilbert series for this cohomology ring.

Coefficients for Higher Order Hochschild Cohomology

When studying deformations of an $A$-module $M$, Laudal and Yau showed that one can consider 1-cocycles in the Hochschild cohomology of $A$ with coefficients in the bi-module $End_k(M).$ With this in mind, the use of higher order Hochschild (co)homology, presented by Pirashvili and Anderson, to study deformations seems only natural though the current definition allows only symmetric bi-module coefficients. Secondary Hochschild cohomology and derivations

In this paper, we introduce a generalization of derivations. Using these so-called secondary derivations, along with an analogue of Connes' Long Exact Sequence, we are able to provide computations in low dimension for the secondary Hochschild and cyclic cohomologies associated to a commutative triple. We then establish a universal property, which paves the way to relating secondary Kähler differentials with the aforementioned secondary derivations.
