We discuss the expansion of the universe in the FRLW model assuming that the source of dark energy is either tachyonic scalar field or quintessence. The tachyonic scalar field with exponential and power-law potential (function of homogeneous scalar field $ϕ$) both gives exponential expansion of the universe. It is found that this behaviour is not distinguishable from the quintessence with respect to these potentials.
Recently, it is found that the strong cosmic censorship (SCC) is violated in RNdS black hole by a minimal coupled neutral massless scalar field at the linear perturbation level. For the Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar-Gauss-Bonnet theory which is famous for the spontaneous scalarization phenomenon, there exists the scalar field coupled with the Gauss-Bonnet term. Whether the SCC of the RNdS black hole can be repaired by the non-minimal coupled scalar field perturbation at the linear level becomes an interesting question. In this paper, we firstly investigate the extendibility of the metric beyond the …
Quasinormal modes and late-time tails in the background of Schwarzschild black hole pierced by a cosmic string: scalar, electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations
We analyze the necessary conditions for a body to remain rigid in an expanding cosmological Universe. First, we establish the main theorems and definitions for having a rigid body in a general spacetime as well as the new concept of quasilocal rigidity. We apply the obtained results to a homogeneous universe exploring the differences with flat spacetime. We discuss how the concept of rigid body helps to understand the expansion of space in cosmology. Finally, using a rigid system as a reference frame, we calculate the gravitational energy, and we compare it with previous results in the literat…
Strong cosmic censorship conjecture is central to the deterministic nature of general relativity, since it asserts that given any generic initial data on a spacelike hypersurface, the future can be uniquely predicted. However, recently it has been found that for charged black holes in asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes, the metric and massless scalar fields can be extended beyond the Cauchy horizon. This spells doom on the strong cosmic censorship conjecture, which prohibits precisely this scenario. In this work we try to understand the genericness of the above situation by studying the effec…
In this paper, we investigate the thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture in a RN-AdS black hole with the cloud of strings and quintessence by the scattering of a scalar field. The variations of the thermodynamic variables are calculated in the normal and extended phase spaces. In the normal phase space, where the cosmological constant is considered as a constant, the first and second laws of thermodynamics are satisfied. In the extended phase space, where the cosmological constant and the parameters related to the cloud of strings and quintessence are treated as variables, the fi…
In the present paper we investigate the classical self-interaction associated with a charged scalar point particle placed at rest in the gravitational field of a linear topological defect known in literature as cosmic dispiration, a combination of a cosmic string with a screw dislocation. We found exact expressions for the Green's function and, consequently, for the self-energy by considering both massive and massless scalar point particles. We present numerical graphs and analyze the nature of the self-interactions in the cosmic dispiration spacetime itself and in the cases of pure screw disl…
We argue that an interacting scalar-fermion distribution can be used to demonstrate the cosmic acceleration in General Relativity. The interaction is of Yukawa nature and it drives the fermion density to decay with cosmic time. The consistency of the model is established through, (a) a generalization of the Om(z) parameter, the present matter density contrast of the universe, and (b) a comparison of theoretical results with observational data, using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo code. A simple model of unified cosmic expansion history is also discussed. There are more than one instances where the…
We investigate the weak cosmic censorship conjecture in extremal and near-extremal Kerr-Newman-(anti-)de Sitter black holes by the scattering of a massive scalar field with an electric charge. Under this scattering, the scalar field fluxes change the black hole state, as determined by the mass, angular momentum, and electric charge. The black hole may exceed its extremal condition because of these changes. However, we find that the black hole cannot be overcharged or overspun by the scattering. In particular, although the fluxes are closely associated with the asymptotic boundary conditions al…
We study the model of Einstein-Maxwell theory minimally coupling to a massive charged self-interacting scalar field, parameterized by the quartic and hexic coupling, labelled by $λ$ and $β$, respectively. In the absence of scalar field, there is a class of counterexamples to cosmic censorship. Moveover, we investigate the properties of full nonlinear solution with nonzero scalar field, and argue that, by assuming massive charged self-interacting scalar field with sufficiently large charge above one certain bound, these counterexamples can be removed. In particular, this bound on charge for sel…
