We consider photoproduction of $ω$ mesons off complex nuclei to study interactions of transversely and longitudinally polarized vector mesons with nucleons. The large $t$ behaviour of the helicity amplitudes of diffractive photoproduction is estimated relying on models of the photon and meson light-cone wave functions and on the double-logarithmic approximation to the exchanged gluon interaction. We propose a model based on Regge theory to describe photoproduction of light vector mesons. We fit the SLAC data and make predictions for the energy and momentum transfer dependence of the spin-density matrix elements in photoproduction of $ω$, $ρ^0$ and $ϕ$ mesons at $E_γ\sim 8.5$ GeV, which are soon to be measured at Jefferson Lab.
We present predictions for differential cross sections for the reaction $γp \to Φp$ and give an outlook to which extent our calculations may be generalized to the photoproduction of $J/Ψ$ mesons. Our results are obtained within perturbative QCD treating the proton as a quark-diquark system.

The strong electromagnetic fields associated with high energy protons and nuclei may lead to exclusive photoproduction of vector mesons in proton-proton and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC. This paper will discuss the expected cross sections and rapidity and transverse momentum distributions.
A model based on a dipole Pomeron framework for vector meson exclusive photoproduction by real and virtual photons shows very good agreement with the experimental data. The model does not violate unitarity constrains and describes in a universal manner all the available data for $ρ$, $ω$, $ϕ$, $J/ψ$ and $Υ$ vector meson photoproduction in the region of energies $1.7\le W \le 250 GeV$ and photon virtualities $0 \le Q^2 \le 35 GeV^2$.
Decay widths, branching ratios and production dynamics of some recently discovered $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}, 0^{-+}$,$1^{--}$ and $2^{-+}$ mesons are found to be in remarkable agreement with the predicted properties of hybrid mesons. We discuss the high energy limit of the resulting amplitudes and compare two types of pomeron coupling to nucleons.
We consider the photoproduction of secondary mesons in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String model. At relatively low energies, not only cylindrical, but also planar diagrams have to be accounted for. To estimate the significant contribution of planar diagrams in gamma-p collisions at rather low energies, we have used the expression obtained from the corresponding phenomenological expression for pi-p collisions. The results obtained by the model are compared to the existing SLAC experimental data. The model predictions for light meson production at HERMES energies are also presented.
At forward angles, the cross-sections of photoproduction of vector mesons ($ρ$, $ω$, and $ϕ$) are well accounted for by the exchange of the Pomeron at high energies, while contributions of $t$ channel exchange of Reggeons are significant at low energies. At large angles, the impact parameter becomes small enough to prevent their constituents to build up the exchanged Reggeons or Pomeron. In the framework of the vector dominance model (VDM) new contribution into the cross-section of $D^*$-meson photoproduction at HERA has been estimated. This contribution is due to the interaction of the virtual vector $c\bar c$-mesons from photon with the proton. It has been shown that the mechanism under discussion plays the essential role for all values of transverse momentum of $D^*$-mesons at HERA. Taking into account for the contribution of this mechanism improves the description of the experimental cross section distribution.
We calculate polarization asymmetries in photoproduction of high transverse momentum mesons, focusing on charged pions, considering the direct, fragmentation, and resolved photon processes. The results at very high meson momentum measure the polarized quark distributions and are sensitive to differences among the existing models. The results at moderate meson momentum are sensitive to the polarized gluon distribution and can provide a good way to measure it. Suitable data may come as a by-product of deep inelastic experiments to measure $g_1$ or from dedicated experiments.

We argued that the data on $σ^{γ\rightarrow J/ψ}_{el}$ is consistent with a soft pomeron, the apparent rapid increase resulting from the non-asymptotic effects due to the delayed asymptotics of $σ_{el}$ with respect to $σ_{tot}$.

Non-perturbative QCD mechanisms are of fundamental importance in strong interaction physics. In particular, the flavor singlet axial anomaly leads to a gluonic pole mechanism which has been shown to explain the $η^{\prime}$ mass, violations of the OZI rule and more recently the proton spin. We show here that the interaction derived from the gluonic pole exchange explains the high momentum transfer behavior of the photoproduction cross sections of vector mesons at JLab energies.

We examine eta prime photoproduction, as a novel tool to study baryon resonances around 2 GeV, of particular interest to the quark shell model, which predicts a number of them. We find important roles of the form factors at the strong vertices, and show that the N^*(2080) can be probed efficiently by this reaction.
The energy and the angular dependence of the associative vector charmed ${D^*}$-meson photoproduction, $γ+N\to {\cal B}_c+ \overline{D^*}$, with ${\cal B}_c=Λ_c$ or $Σ_c$, has been predicted in framework of pseudoscalar D-meson exchange model. The behavior of the cross section is driven by phenomenological form factors, which can be parametrized in terms of two independent parameters. Photoproduction of vector mesons are computed in dipole model in proton-proton ultraperipheral collisions(UPCs) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The dipole model framework is employed in the calculations of vector mesons production in diffractive processes. Parameters of the bCGC model are refitted with the latest inclusive deep inelastic scattering experimental data. In the present paper, we study the photoproduction of various $S$-wave $B_c$ states, i.e. $B_c(1{}^1S_0)$, $B_c^*(1{}^1S_0)$, $B_c(2{}^1S_0)$ and $B^*_c(2{}^3S_1)$, at future $e^+e^-$ colliders within the framework of non-relativistic QCD. Two sources of the initial photons can be realized in the production, i.e., the LBS photon and the WWA photon. We explore QCD calculations for the process gamma p -> V X where V is a vector meson, in the region s >> -t and -t >> Lambda_QCD^2. We compare our calculations for the J/psi, phi and rho mesons with data from the ZEUS Collaboration at HERA and demonstrate that the BFKL approach is consistent with the data even for light mesons, whereas the two-gluon exchange approach is inadequate. We also predict the differential cross-sections for the Upsilon and omega for which no data are currently available.
We compare the predictions of the collinear parton model and the k_T-factorization approach in JΨand D^\star meson photoproduction at HERA energies. It is shown that obtained in the both approaches D^\star meson spectra over p_T and ηas well as JΨmeson p_T- and z-spectra are very different. The predictions obtained in the k_T-factorization approach are agree with the experimental data well. We also predict the nontrivial p_T-dependence of the the spin parameter $α(p_T) in the JΨphotoproduction.
