Assuming the Majorana nature of neutrinos, we recently performed a scan of leptonic mixing patterns derived from finite discrete groups of order less than 1536. Here we show that the 3 groups identified there as giving predictions close to experiment, also contain another class of abelian subgroups that predict an interesting leading order quark mixing pattern where only the Cabibbo angle is generated at leading order. We further broaden our study by assuming that neutrinos are Dirac particles and find 4 groups of order up to 200 that can predict acceptable quark and leptonic mixing angles. Since large flavor groups allow for a multitude of leading order mixing patterns, we define a measure that is suitable to compare the predictivity of a given flavor group taking this fact into account. We give the result of this measure for a wide range of discrete flavor groups and identify the group (Z_18 \times Z_6) \rtimes S_3 as being most predictive in the sense of this measure. We further discuss alternative measures and their implications.
Implications of a simple model for the mass generation of leptons are studied, in particular for the upcoming long-baseline neutrino experiments. The flavor mixing angles are large (nearly maximal). The probability for the long-baseline ν_μ\leftrightarrow ν_e oscillation is predicted to be about 1%.
Recent data from the ATLAS and CMS detectors at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN give a hint of possible violation of flavor in the leptonic decays of the Higgs boson. In this work we analyze the flavor violating leptonic decays $H^0_1\to l_i \bar l_j$ ($i\neq j$) within the framework of an MSSM extension with a vectorlike leptonic generation. Specifically we focus on the decay mode $H^0_1\to μτ$. The analysis is done including tree and loop contributions involving exchange of $W, Z$, charge and neutral higgs and leptons and mirror leptons, charginos and neutralinos and sleptons and mirror sl…
I discuss different theories of leptonic flavor and their capability of describing the features of the lepton sector, namely charged lepton masses, neutrino masses, lepton mixing angles and leptonic (low and high energy) CP phases. In particular, I show examples of theories with an abelian flavor symmetry G_f, with a non-abelian G_f as well as theories with non-abelian G_f and CP.
The recent IceCube observation of ultra-high-energy astrophysical neutrinos has begun the era of neutrino astronomy. In this work, using the unitarity of leptonic mixing matrix, we derive nontrivial unitarity constraints on the flavor composition of astrophysical neutrinos detected by IceCube. Applying leptonic unitarity triangles, we deduce these unitarity bounds from geometrical conditions, such as triangular inequalities. These new bounds generally hold for three flavor neutrinos, and are independent of any experimental input or the pattern of leptonic mixing. We apply our unitarity bounds …
We consider hadronic weak decays of beauty-baryons into charmless baryons and pseudoscalar mesons in a general framework based on $SU(3)$ decomposition of the decay amplitudes. The advantage of the approach lies in the ability to perform an $SU(3)$ analysis of these decays without any particular set of dynamical assumptions while accounting for the effects of an arbitrarily broken $SU(3)$ flavor symmetry. Dictated by the symmetries of the effective Hamiltonian that allow us to relate or neglect reduced $SU(3)$ amplitudes, we derive several sum rule relations between amplitudes and relations be…
We summarized our report on leptonic flavor violating Higgs decay into mu + tau under the scheme of a generic supersymmetric standard model without R parity. With known experimental constraints imposed, important combinations of R-parity violating parameters which can give notable branching ratios are listed.
We study hadronic and leptonic flavor physics in a SUSY SO(10) model proposed by Chang, Masiero, and Murayama, which links b -> s transitions to the observed large atmospheric neutrino mixing angle. We find large effects in B_s-B_s-bar mixing and BR(tau -> mu gamma) and comment on B_d -> phi K_S.
Leptonic flavor-changing $H^0$ decays with branching ratios of the order of $10^{-5}-10^{-6}$ may constitute an interesting framework when looking for large $CP$-violating effects. We show that leptonic $CP$~asymmetries of an intermediate $H^0$ boson can be fairly large in natural scenarios of the minimal Standard Model ($SM$) with right-handed neutrinos, at a level that may be probed at future $H^0$~factories.
We study leptonic flavor and CP violating observables in supersymmetric (SUSY) models with heavy sfermions, which is motivated by the recent results of the LHC experiments (i.e., the discovery of the Higgs-like boson with the mass of about 126 GeV and the negative searches for the superparticles). Even if the sfermion masses are of O(10-100 TeV), signals may be within the reach of future leptonic flavor- and CP-violation experiments assuming that the off-diagonal elements of the sfermion mass matrices are unsuppressed compared to the diagonal ones. We also consider the SUSY contribution to the…
In the present paper, we carry out a systematic study of the flavor invariants and their renormalization-group equations (RGEs) in the leptonic sector with three generations of charged leptons and massive Majorana neutrinos. First, following the approach of the Hilbert series from the invariant theory, we show that there are 34 basic flavor invariants in the generating set, among which 19 invariants are CP-even and the others are CP-odd. Any flavor invariants can be expressed as the polynomials of those 34 basic invariants in the generating set. Second, we explicitly construct all the basic in…
We explore a Z' boson with family-nonuniversal couplings to charged leptons. The general effect of Z-Z' mixing, of both kinetic and mass types, is included in the analysis. Adopting a model-independent approach, we perform a comprehensive study of constraints on the leptonic Z' couplings from currently available experimental data on a number of flavor-conserving and flavor-changing transitions. Detailed comparisons are made to extract the most stringent bounds on the leptonic couplings. Such information is fed into predictions of various processes that may be experimentally probed in the near …
We discuss the leptonic flavor structure generated by a brane shifted extra dimensional seesaw model with a single right handed neutrino in the bulk. In contrast to previous works, no unitarity approximation for the $3 \times 3$ submatrix has been employed. This allows to study phenomenological signatures such as lepton flavor violating decays. A strong prediction of the model, assuming CP conservation, are the ratios of flavor violating charged lepton decay and Z decay branching ratios which are correlated with the neutrino mixing angles and the neutrino mass hierarchy. Furthermore, it is pos…
We study leptonic CP and flavor violations in supersymmetric (SUSY) grand unified theory (GUT) with right handed neutrinos, paying attention to the renormalization group effects on the slepton mass matrices due to the neutrino and GUT Yukawa interactions. In particular, we study in detail the impacts of the so-called Casas- Ibarra parameters on CP and flavor violating observables. The renormalization group effects induce CP and flavor violating elements of the SUSY breaking scalar mass squared matrices, which may result in sizable leptonic CP and flavor violating signals. Assuming seesaw formu…
We analyze possible lepton-flavor-violating decays of the $Z^0$ particle in a minimal extension of the Standard Model, in which one right-handed neutral field for each family has been introduced. Such rare leptonic decays are induced by Majorana neutrinos at the first electroweak loop level and are generally not suppressed by the ordinary "see-saw" mechanism. In particular, we find that experimental bounds on branching ratios of the order of $10^{-5}-10^{-6}$ attainable at $LEP$ may impose constraints on lepton-flavor-mixing parameters and the masses of the heavy Majorana neutrinos.
We have revisited the computations of the flavor violating leptonic decays of the $τ$ and $μ$ leptons into three lighter charged leptons in the Standard Model with non-vanishing neutrino masses. We were driven by a claimed unnaturally large branching ratio predicted for the $τ^-\to μ^- \ell^+ \ell^-$ ($\ell=μ, e$) decays \cite{Pham:1998fq}, which was at odds with the corresponding predictions for the $μ^-\to e^- e^-e^+$ processes \cite{Petcov:1976ff}. In contrast with the prediction in \cite{Pham:1998fq}, our results are strongly suppressed and in good agreement with the approximation done in …
In this paper, we examine the leptonic flavor invariants in the minimal seesaw model (MSM), in which only two right-handed neutrino singlets are added into the Standard Model in order to accommodate tiny neutrino masses and explain cosmological matter-antimatter asymmetry via leptogenesis mechanism. For the first time, we calculate the Hilbert series (HS) for the leptonic flavor invariants in the MSM. With the HS we demonstrate that there are totally 38 basic flavor invariants, among which 18 invariants are CP-odd and the others are CP-even. Moreover, we explicitly construct these basic invari…
We consider a neutrino mass model where all leptonic mixing is induced by a heavy Majorana sector through the seesaw type I mechanism, while the Dirac mass matrices are diagonal. Such a pattern occurs naturally in grand unified theories. Constraints on the parameters of the models are considered and it is shown that a normal neutrino mass hierarchy is preferred. The lightest neutrino mass is typically small, leading to nonobservable rates for neutrinoless double beta decay in the normal hierarchy case.
We propose a third idea for the explanation of the leptonic flavor structure in addition to the prominent approaches based on flavor symmetry and anarchy. Typical flavor patterns can be modeled by using mass spectra obtained from the discrete lengths spectrum of tight knots and links. We assume that a string theory model exists in which this idea can be incorporated via the Majorana mass structure of a type I seesaw model. It is shown by a scan over the parameter space that such a model is able to provide an excellent fit to current neutrino data and that it predicts a normal neutrino mass hie…
We examine lepton flavor violating (LFV) interactions for heavy right-handed neutrinos that exist in most of the standard model extensions that address dark matter (DM) and neutrino mass at the loop level. In order to probe the collider effect of these LFV interactions, we impose the assumption that the model parameters give the right values of the DM relic density and fulfill the constraints from the LFV processes $\ell_α\rightarrow\ell_βγ$ and $\ell_α\rightarrow3\ell_β$. We also investigate the possibility of probing these interactions, and hence the right-handed neutrino, at leptonic collid…
If massive neutrinos are Majorana particles, then the lepton number should be violated in nature and neutrino-antineutrino oscillations $ν^{}_α\leftrightarrow \overlineν^{}_β$ (for $α, β= e, μ, τ$) will definitely take place. In the present paper, we study the properties of CP violation in neutrino-antineutrino oscillations with the non-unitary leptonic flavor mixing matrix, which is actually a natural prediction in the canonical seesaw model due to the mixing between light and heavy Majorana neutrinos. The oscillation probabilities $P(ν^{}_α\to \overlineν^{}_β)$ and $P(\overlineν^{}_α\to ν^{}…
We analyse the recent hints of Lepton Flavor Universality violations in semi-leptonic $B$ decays within a general EFT based on a $U(2)^n$ flavor symmetry acting on the light generations of SM fermions. We analyse in particular the consistency of these anomalies with the tight constraints on various low-energy observables in $B$ and $τ$ physics. We show that, with a moderate fine-tuning, a consistent picture for all low-energy observables can be obtained under the additional dynamical assumption that the NP sector is coupled preferentially to third generation SM fermions. We discuss how this dy…
We study the contribution of the squark flavor mixing from the $LR(RL)$ component of the squark mass matrices to the direct CP violation of the $b\to sγ$ decay and the CP-violating asymmetry in the non-leptonic decays of $B$ mesons. The magnitude of the $LR(RL)$ component is constrained by the branching ratio and the direct CP violation of $b\to sγ$. We predict the correlation of the CP asymmetries among $A_{\text{CP}}^{b \to s γ}$, $\mathcal{S}_{ϕK_S}$ and $\mathcal{S}_{η'K^0}$ of the B decays. The precise data of these CP violations will give us the crucial test for our framework of the squa…
We propose a flavor symmetric approach to unify the origin of dark matter (DM) with the non-zero $θ_{13}$ in the lepton sector. In this framework, breaking of a $U(1)$ flavor symmetry to a remnant $Z_2$ ensures the stability of the DM and gives rise to a modification to the existing $A_4$-based tri-bimaximal neutrino mixing to attain the required non-zero $\sin θ_{13}$. This results in a range of Higgs portal coupling of the DM which can be potentially accessible at various ongoing and future direct and collider search experiments.
We perform a comprehensive SU(3)-flavor analysis of charmed mesons decaying to two pseudoscalar SU(3)-octet mesons. Taking into account SU(3)-breaking effects induced by the splitting of the quark masses, m_s != m_{u,d}, we find that existing data can be described by SU(3)-breaking of the order 30%. The requisite penguin enhancement to accomodate all data on CP violation tends to be even larger than the one extracted from Delta a_{CP}^{dir}(K^+K^-,pi^+pi^-) alone, strengthening explanations beyond the standard model. Despite the large number of matrix elements, correlations between CP asymmetr…
We present a model for leptonic mixing and the lepton masses based on flavor symmetries and higher-dimensional mass operators. The model predicts bilarge leptonic mixing (i.e., the mixing angles theta_{12} and theta_{23} are large and the mixing angle theta_{13} is small) and an inverted hierarchical neutrino mass spectrum. Furthermore, it approximately yields the experimental hierarchical mass spectrum of the charged leptons. The obtained values for the leptonic mixing parameters and the neutrino mass squared differences are all in agreement with atmospheric neutrino data, the Mikheyev--Smirn…
A top-down approach to the flavor puzzle leads to eclectic flavor groups which include modular and traditional flavor symmetries. Based on examples of semirealistic T2/Z3 orbifold compactifications of heterotic string theory, we discuss the breakdown patterns of the eclectic flavor group via the interplay of vacuum expectation values (vevs) of moduli and flavon fields. This leads to an attractive flavor scheme with various possibilities to obtain "flavor hierarchies" through the alignment of these vevs. Despite the fact that the top-down approach gives strong restrictions for bottom-up flavor …
Gauged extensions [$SU(2)_L\otimes U(1)_Y\otimes U(1)_X$] of the standard $SU(2)_L\otimes U(1)_Y$ model obtained without extending the fermion content of the model are studied. Models that are possible when $U(1)_X$ is identified with some combination of the family lepton numbers are systematically classified. Most of these contain flavor violations in the leptonic sector. These flavor violations are correlated to the mixing of the $U(1)_X$ gauge boson $Z'$ with the ordinary $Z$ in the models considered here. Detailed phenomenological implications of a typical model are discussed. Constraints …
Leptonic CP violation is yet to be confirmed as an additional source of CP violation in fundamental interactions. We study the case where leptonic CP violation is spontaneous and is induced by the mixing with a heavy charged vector-like lepton (VLL). We show that the non-decoupling of this VLL is linked with the presence of CP violation and its coupling with the SM leptons are partly fixed from the SM Yukawas. Due to the large leptonic mixing angles, these couplings are typically of the same order and there is no flavor preference. Strong but not definitive constraints come from charged lepton…
We present a calculation of the leptonic decay-constant ratio $f_K/f_π$ in 2+1 flavor QCD. Our data set includes five lattice spacings and pion masses reaching down below the physical one. Special emphasis is placed on a careful study of all systematic uncertainties, especially the continuum extrapolation. Our result is perfectly compatible with the first-row unitarity constraint of the Standard Model.
We consider charmless weak decays of beauty-baryons into decuplet baryons and pseudoscalar mesons in a general framework based on $SU(3)$-flavor decomposition of the decay amplitudes. The dynamical assumption independent $SU(3)$ analysis accounts for the effects of an arbitrarily broken $SU(3)$ symmetry in these decays. An alternative approach in terms of quark diagrams is also provided and compared with the $SU(3)$ decomposition in the limit of exact $SU(3)$-flavor symmetry. Furthermore, the symmetries of the effective Hamiltonian is used to relate or neglect reduced $SU(3)$ amplitudes to der…
Motivated by recent anomalies in FCNC $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$, we study $B_1\to B_2\ell^+\ell^-(\ell=e,μ,τ)$ semi-leptonic weak decays with the SU(3) flavor symmetry, where $B_{1,2}$ are the spin-1/2 baryons of single bottomed anti-triplet $T_{b3}$, single charmed anti-triplet $T_{c3}$ or light baryon octet $T_{8}$. Using the SU(3) irreducible representation approach, we first obtain the amplitude relations among different decays, and then predict the relevant not-yet measured observables of these decays. (a) We calculate the branching ratios of the $T_{b3}\to T_8 μ^+μ^-$ and $T_{b3}\to T_8 τ^+τ^…
The latest measurements of the anomalous muon magnetic moment $a^{}_μ\equiv (g^{}_μ- 2)/2$ show a $4.2σ$ discrepancy between the theoretical prediction of the Standard Model and the experimental observations. In order to account for such a discrepancy, we consider a possible extension of the type-(I+II) seesaw model for neutrino mass generation with a gauged $L^{}_μ- L^{}_τ$ symmetry. By explicitly constructing an economical model with only one extra scalar singlet, we demonstrate that the gauge symmetry $U(1)^{}_{L^{}_μ- L^{}_τ}$ and its spontaneous breaking are crucially important not only f…
Though not completely a surprise according to the standard model and existing indirect constraints, the Higgs-like particle, h, of mass around 125 GeV recently observed at the LHC may offer an additional window to physics beyond the standard model. In particular, its decay pattern can be modified by the existence of new particles. One of the popular scenarios involves a Z' boson associated with an extra Abelian gauge group. In this study, we explore the potential effects of such a boson with family-nonuniversal couplings on the leptonic decays of h, both flavor-conserving and flavor-changing. …
We systematically analyze the correlations between the various leptonic and hadronic flavor violating processes arising in SUSY Grand Unified Theories. Using the GUT-symmetric relations between the soft SUSY breaking parameters, we assess the impact of hadronic and leptonic flavor observables on the SUSY sources of flavor violation.
We consider the flavor-changing decays of the Higgs boson in a grand unified theory framework which is based on the SU(5) gauge group and implements the principle of minimal flavor violation. This allows us to explore the possibility of connecting the tentative hint of the Higgs decay $h\toμτ$ recently reported in the CMS experiment to potential new physics in the quark sector. We look at different simple scenarios with minimal flavor violation in this context and how they are subject to various empirical restrictions. In one specific case, the relative strengths of the flavor-changing leptoni…
The Daya Bay Collaboration has recently reported its first \barν_e \to \barν_e oscillation result which points to θ_{13} \simeq 8.8^\circ \pm 0.8^\circ (best-fit \pm 1σrange) or θ_{13} \neq 0^\circ at the 5.2σlevel. The fact that this smallest neutrino mixing angle is not strongly suppressed motivates us to look into the underlying structure of lepton flavor mixing and CP violation. Two phenomenological strategies are outlined: (1) the lepton flavor mixing matrix U consists of a constant leading term U_0 and a small perturbation term ΔU; and (2) the mixing angles of U are associated with the l…
We examine the effects of the R parity odd renormalizable interactions on flavor changing rates and CP violation asymmetries in the production of fermion-antifermion pairs at $e^-- e^+$ leptonic colliders. The produced fermions may be leptons, down-quarks or up-quarks, and the center of mass energies may range from the Z-boson pole up to $ 1000$ GeV. Off the Z-boson pole, the flavor changing rates are controlled by tree level amplitudes and the CP asymmetries by interference terms between tree and loop level amplitudes. At the Z-boson pole, both observables involve loop amplitudes. The lepton …
In the framework of canonical seesaw model, we present a simple but viable scenario to explicitly break an $S^{}_{3{\rm L}} \times S^{}_{3{\rm R}}$ flavor symmetry in the leptonic sector. It turns out that the leptonic flavor mixing matrix is completely determined by the mass ratios of charged leptons (i.e., $m^{}_e/m^{}_μ$ and $m^{}_μ/m^{}_τ$) and those of light neutrinos (i.e., $m^{}_1/m^{}_2$ and $m^{}_2/m^{}_3$). The latest global-fit results of three neutrino mixing angles $\{θ^{}_{12}, θ^{}_{13}, θ^{}_{23}\}$ and two neutrino mass-squared differences $\{Δm^2_{21}, Δm^2_{31}\}$ at the $3σ…
We present a geometric description of lepton flavor mixing and CP violation in matter by using the language of leptonic unitarity triangles. The exact analytical relations for both sides and inner angles are established between every unitarity triangle in vacuum and its effective counterpart in matter. The typical shape evolution of six triangles with the terrestrial matter density is illustrated for a realistic long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment.
We study implications of a recent observation of non-leptonic $B^+_c\to D^0 K^+$ decay and a bound on $B^+_c\to D^0 π^+$ transition on CP-violating asymmetries in $B_c$ decays. In the U-spin symmetry limit, we derive a relation between the CP-asymmetries in the $B^+_c\to D^0 K^+$ and $B^+_c\to D^0 π^+$ channels and the corresponding branching ratios. We also derive several relations between non-leptonic $B_c$ decays into the final states with $D$ mesons in the flavor $SU(3)_F$ limit. We point out that a combined study of $SU(3)_F$ amplitudes in these decays can be used to constrain the angle $…
CMS has reported indications (2.4σ) of the decay of the Higgs boson into μτ. The simplest explanation for such a decay would be a general Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM). In this case, one would expect the heavy neutral Higgs bosons, H and A, to also decay in a similar manner. We study two specific models. The first is the type III 2HDM, and the second is a 2HDM, originally proposed by Branco et al., in which all flavor-changing neutral processes are given by the weak mixing matrix. In the latter model, since mixing between the second and third generations in the lepton sector is large, flavor-…
In this paper, the lepton flavor violating $τ\to \ell P(V)$ ($P,V= π^0, η, η^{\prime}, ρ^0, ω, ϕ$) and $τ\to 3\ell$ ($\ell = e, μ$) decays are studied in the framework of the type-III seesaw model, in which new triplet fermions with a zero hypercharge (Y=0) interact with ordinary lepton doublets via Yukawa couplings, and affect tree-level leptonic Z-boson couplings. We investigate the experimental bound from the leptonic Z decay to get contraint on the exsiting parameters space. We predict that the upper limits on the branching ratios of $τ\to \ell P(V)$ and $τ\to 3\ell$ can reach the experime…
Leptoquarks are hypothetical new particles, which couple quarks directly to leptons. They experienced a renaissance in recent years as they are prime candidates to explain the so-called \textit{flavor anomalies}, i.e. the deviations between the Standard Model predictions and measurements in $b\to s\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ and $b\to cτν$ processes and in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. At the one-loop level these particles unavoidably generate effects in the purely leptonic processes like $Z\to\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$, $Z\toν\barν$, $W\to\ellν$ and $h\to\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ and can even generate non-…
We propose a minimal extension of the standard model by including a $U(1)$ flavor symmetry to establish a correlation between the relic abundance of dark matter, measured by WMAP and PLANCK satellite experiments and non-zero value of $\sin θ_{13}$ observed at DOUBLE CHOOZ, Daya Bay, RENO and T2K. The flavour symmetry is allowed to be broken at a high scale to a remnant $\mathcal{Z}_2$ symmetry, which not only ensures the stability to the dark matter, but also gives rise to a modification to the existing $A_4$-based tri-bimaximal neutrino mixing. This deviation in turn suggests the required non…
We constrain some lepton flavor violating vertices in the context of the two Higgs doublet model type III, assuming that the lightest scalar Higgs mass $% m_{h^{0}} $is about $115 $GeV. Specifically, based on the $g-2 $muon factor and the decay width of$ μ\to eγ$,$ $the following quite general bounds are obtained:$ 7.62\times 10^{-4}\lesssim ξ_{μτ}^{2}\lesssim 4.44\times 10^{-2}, $ $ξ_{eτ}^{2}\lesssim 2.77\times 10^{-14}$. Additionally, based on the processes $τ\to μγ$, and $τ\to μμμ$, bounds on $ξ_{ττ} $and $ξ_{μμ} $are also gotten, such constraints on these parameters$ $still give enough roo…
An extension of the neutrino sector with two right handed singlet neutrinos responsible for Dirac neutrino masses is discussed. We show that this setup with flavor symmetry can give large solar and atmospheric neutrino mixings and suppressed Theta_13. The flavor symmetry U(1) x S_4 is shown to lead to Theta_23 = π/4 and a new predictive formula for the Theta_13(\simeq 0.015).
We discuss the minimal theory for quark-lepton unification at the low scale. In this context, the quarks and leptons are unified in the same representations and neutrino masses are generated through the inverse seesaw mechanism. The properties of the leptoquarks predicted in this theory are discussed in detail and we investigate the predictions for the leptonic and semi-leptonic decays of mesons. We study the possibility to explain the current value of $\mathcal{R}_K$ reported by the LHCb collaboration and the value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment reported by the Muon $g-2$ experiment at…
We examine the effect of the R parity odd renormalizable interactions on flavor non-diagonal rates and CP violation asymmetries in the production of slepton pairs at $e^- - e^+$ leptonic colliders, for center of mass energies spanning the interval from the Z-boson pole up to 1000 GeV. The lepton number violating interactions, associated with the lepton number violating coupling constants, are assumed to incorporate CP odd complex phases. The flavor changing rates are controlled by tree level amplitudes and quadratic products of different R parity violating coupling constants and the CP asymmet…
We present SUSY_FLAVOR -- a Fortran 77 program that calculates important leptonic and semi-leptonic low-energy observables in the general R-parity conserving MSSM. For a set of input MSSM parameters, the code gives predictions for the K0-bar K0, D-bar D, B_d-bar B_d and B_s-bar B_s mixing parameters; B to X_s gamma, B_{s,d} to l+ l-, K0_L to pi nu-bar nu and K+ to pi+ nu-bar nu decay branching ratios; and the electric dipole moments of the leptons and the neutron. All these quantities are calculated at one-loop level (with some higher-order QCD corrections included) in the exact sfermion mass …
In the preprint arXiv:2110.08210, some comments on our paper recently published in JHEP \textbf{09} (2021) 053 have been made. Since some of the comments are completely wrong and others are quite misleading, we decide to clarify the relevant issues in a formal reply. First of all, nothing is wrong about our calculations and physical results in the original paper. Second, there is no logical gap to fill at all. The fact that the $N$-dimensional unitary group over the field of complex numbers ${\rm U}(N,\mathbb{C})$ is not a linear algebraic group is actually irrelevant for the validity of the M…
We provide an $A_4$ based flavor symmetric scenario to accommodate the inverse seesaw mechanism for explaining light neutrino masses and mixing. We find that the lepton mixing, in particular the tri-bimaximal mixing pattern and its deviation through nonzero $θ_{13}$, is originated solely from the flavor structure of the lepton number violating contribution of the neutral lepton mass matrix. Here we discuss in detail how a nonzero value of $θ_{13}$ is correlated with the other parameters in the framework and its impact on the Dirac CP phase $δ$. We also analyze the non-unitarity effects on lept…
