Let $\frak{p}$ and $\frak{q}$ be two distinct prime ideals of $\mathbb{F}_q[T]$. We use the Eisenstein ideal of the Hecke algebra of the Drinfeld modular curve $X_0(\frak{p}\frak{q})$ to compare the rational torsion subgroup of the Jacobian $J_0(\frak{p}\frak{q})$ with its subgroup generated by the cuspidal divisors, and to produce explicit examples of Jacquet-Langlands isogenies. Our results are stronger than what is currently known about the analogues of these problems over $\mathbb{Q}$.
We propose a conjectural explicit isogeny from the Jacobians of hyperelliptic Drinfeld modular curves to the Jacobians of hyperelliptic modular curves of $\mathcal{D}$-elliptic sheaves. The kernel of the isogeny is a subgroup of the cuspidal divisor group constructed by examining the canonical maps from the cuspidal divisor group into the component groups.
We use the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence to generalize well-known congruence results of Mazur on Fourier coefficients and L-values of elliptic modular forms for prime level in weight 2 both to nonsquare level and to Hilbert modular forms.
Let $J^{65}$ be the Jacobian of the Shimura curve attached to the indefinite quaternion algebra over $\mathbb{Q}$ of discriminant $65$. We study the isogenies $J_0(65)\rightarrow J^{65}$ defined over $\mathbb{Q}$, whose existence was proved by Ribet. We prove that there is an isogeny whose kernel is supported on the Eisenstein maximal ideals of the Hecke algebra acting on $J_0(65)$, and moreover the odd part of the kernel is generated by a cuspidal divisor of order $7$, as is predicted by a conjecture of Ogg.
We present a novel integral representation for a quotient of global automorphic L-functions, the symmetric square over the exterior square. The pole of this integral characterizes a period of a residual representation of an Eisenstein series. As such, the integral itself constitutes a period, of an arithmetic nature. The construction involves the study of local and global aspects of a new model for double covers of general linear groups, the metaplectic Shalika model. In particular, we prove uniqueness results over p-adic and Archimedean fields, and a new Casselman-Shalika type formula.
Let $E/\mathbb{Q}$ be an elliptic curve, and $p$ a prime where $E$ has good reduction, and assume that $E$ admits a rational $p$-isogeny. In this paper, we study the anticyclotomic Iwasawa theory of $E$ over an imaginary quadratic field in which $p$ splits, which we relate to the anticyclotomic Iwasawa theory of characters following the method of Greenberg--Vatsal. As a result of our study, we obtain a proof, under mild hypotheses, of Perrin-Riou's Heegner point main conjecture, as well as a $p$-converse to the theorem of Gross--Zagier and Kolyvagin and the $p$-part of the Birch--Swinnerton-Dy…

Given an elliptic curve $E$ over $\mathbb{Q}$, a celebrated conjecture of Goldfeld asserts that a positive proportion of its quadratic twists should have analytic rank 0 (resp. 1). We show this conjecture holds whenever $E$ has a rational 3-isogeny. We also prove the analogous result for the sextic twists of $j$-invariant 0 curves (Mordell curves). To prove these results, we establish a general criterion for the non-triviality of the $p$-adic logarithm of Heegner points at an Eisenstein prime $p$, in terms of the relative $p$-class numbers of certain number fields and then apply this criterion…

We construct analogues of Rankin--Selberg integrals for Speh representations of the general linear group over a $p$-adic field. The integrals are in terms of the Shalika model and are expected to be the local counterparts of (suitably regularized) global integrals involving square-integrable automorphic forms and Eisenstein series on the general linear group over a global field. We relate the local integrals to the classical ones studied by Jacquet--Piatetski-Shapiro--Shalika. We also introduce a unitary structure for Speh representation on the Shalika model, as well as various other models in…
Let F be the cubic field of discriminant -23 and O its ring of integers. Let Gamma be the arithmetic group GL_2 (O), and for any ideal n subset O let Gamma_0 (n) be the congruence subgroup of level n. In a previous paper, two of us (PG and DY) computed the cohomology of various Gamma_0 (n), along with the action of the Hecke operators. The goal of that paper was to test the modularity of elliptic curves over F. In the present paper, we complement and extend this prior work in two ways. First, we tabulate more elliptic curves than were found in our prior work by using various heuristics ("old a…
Let $f$ and $g$, of weights $k'>k\geq 2$, be normalised newforms for $Γ_0(N)$, for square-free $N>1$, such that, for each Atkin-Lehner involution, the eigenvalues of $f$ and $g$ are equal. Let $λ\mid\ell$ be a large prime divisor of the algebraic part of the near-central critical value $L(f\otimes g,\frac{k+k'-2}{2})$. Under certain hypotheses, we prove that $λ$ is the modulus of a congruence between the Hecke eigenvalues of a genus-two Yoshida lift of (Jacquet-Langlands correspondents of) $f$ and $g$ (vector-valued in general), and a non-endoscopic genus-two cusp form. In pursuit of this we a…
