We study the impact of the measurements of three sets of observables on the parameter space of the constrained minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (cMSSM), its slightly general variant, the non-universal scalar model (NUSM), and some selected benchmark points of the 19-parameter phenomenological MSSM (pMSSM): ($i$) the direct measurement of the Higgs boson mass $m_h \approx 125$ GeV at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC); ($ii$) $Z$ boson decay width in the $b \bar{b}$ channel normalized to its hadronic width ($R_b$), and the forward-backward asymmetry on the $Z$-peak in the same channel $(A_{\rm FB}^b)$; and ($iii$) several $B$-physics observables, along with $(g-2)$ of muon. In addition, there are constraints from non-observation of superparticles from direct searches at the LHC. In view of the recently re-estimated standard model (SM) value of $R_b$ with improved higher order corrections, the measured value of $R_b$ has a 1.2$σ$ discrepancy with its SM value, while the corresponding discrepancy in $A_{\rm FB}^b$ is 2.5$σ$. MSSM contributions from light superpartners improve the agreement of $R_b$ but worsen that of $A_{\rm FB}^b$. We project this ($R_b$-$A_{\rm
FB}^b$) tension {\em vis-à-vis} the constraints arising from other observables in the parameter space of cMSSM and NUSM. We also consider a few well-motivated pMSSM benchmark points and show that pMSSM does not fare any better than the SM.
We investigate the possible role that baryon number violating Yukawa interactions may take in the inclusive decay $ B \to X_s γ$. The constraints, derived using the experimental results of the CLEO collaboration, turn out, in many cases, to be more stringent than the existing bounds.
The purely leptonic rare decay Bs -> mu+mu- is very sensitive to supersymmetric contributions which are free from the helicity suppression of its Standard Model diagrams. The recent observation of the decay by the LHCb experiment and the first determination of its branching fraction motivate a review of their impact on the viable parameter space of supersymmetry. In this paper we discuss the implications of the present and expected future accuracy on BR(Bs -> mu+mu-) for constrained and unconstrained MSSM scenarios, in relation to the results from direct SUSY searches and the Higgs data at the…
The electroweak fine-tuning measure Delta(EW) allows for correlated SUSY soft terms as are expected in any ultra-violet complete theory. Requiring no less than 3% electroweak fine-tuning implies upper bounds of about 360~GeV on all higgsinos, while top squarks are lighter than ~3 TeV and gluinos are bounded by ~ 6-9 TeV. We examine the reach for SUSY of the planned high luminosity (HL: 3 ab^{-1} at 14 TeV) and the proposed high energy (HE: 15 ab^{-1} at 27 TeV) upgrades of the LHC via four LHC collider search channels relevant for natural SUSY: 1. gluino pair production followed by gluino deca…
We discuss the relic density of the lightest of the supersymmetric particles ({\small LSP}) in view of new cosmological data, which favour the concept of an accelerating Universe with a non-vanishing cosmological constant. The new bound on the Cold Dark Matter density, $Ω_{\mathrm{CDM}} h_0^2 \lesssim 0.22$, puts stringent constraints on supersymmetry preferring low supersymmetry breaking scales, in sharp contrast to electroweak precision measurements favouring large supersymmetry breaking scales. Supersymmetric predictions are in agreement with cosmological data and electroweak precision data…
We update our analysis of the Higgs sector masses in Minimal Supersymmetry and in the Two-Higgs Doublet Model to the final ATLAS and CMS data from the 2011-2012 LHC run.
We complete the study of a class of string-motivated effective supergravity theories in which modulus-induced soft supersymmetry breaking is sufficiently suppressed in the observable sector so as to be competitive with anomaly-mediated supersymmetry breaking. Here we consider deflected mirage mediation (DMM), where contributions from gauge mediation are added to those arising from gravity mediation and anomaly mediation. We update previous work that surveyed the rich parameter space of such theories, in light of data from the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and recent dark matter detection ex…
The prospects of detecting neutral Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric model via their decays into muon pairs at the LHC are investigated. The CMS detector performance is adopted for a realistic study of observability. It is found that the muon pair decay mode might provide a very promising channel to search for the neutral Higgs bosons of minimal supersymmetry. This channel will allow precise mass reconstruction for neutral Higgs bosons.
The phenomenological consequences of the dilaton-type soft supersymmetry breaking terms in the context of the next to minimal supersymmetric standard model are investigated. We always find a very low top quark mass. As a consequence such string vacua are excluded by recent experimental results. The viability of the solution of the $μ$ term through the introduction of a gauge singlet field is also briefly discussed.
The contribution to the decay $b\to s γ$ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with radiative electroweak breaking is presented. The impact of a detection of this inclusive decay at the SM level is discussed. Results for other inclusive $b-s$ transitions are also mentioned.
A good fit of the fermion masses and mixings has been found in the minimal renormalizable supersymmetric SO(10). This solution needs a strongly split supersymmetry breaking scenario with gauginos and higgsinos around 100 TeV, sfermions close to 10^14 GeV and a low GUT scale of around 6 10^15 GeV. We predict fast proton decays through SO(10) type of d=6 operators and the leptonic mixing angle theta_13 approximately 0.1.
We analyze CP violation in supersymmetry with Effective Minimal Flavour Violation, as recently proposed in arXiv:1011.0730. Unlike the case of standard Minimal Flavour Violation, we show that all the phases allowed by the flavour symmetry can be sizable without violating existing Electric Dipole Moment constraints, thus solving the SUSY CP problem. The EDMs at one and two loops are precisely analyzed as well as their correlations with the expected CP asymmetries in B physics.
We discuss charged lepton flavor violation in supersymmetric models with extended leptonic sectors at low energies. Contrary to the usual high-scale realizations of the seesaw mechanism, these non-minimal supersymmetric models have new superfields and/or interactions at the supersymmetric scale. As a consequence of this, the resulting lepton flavor violating phenomenology may be very different from that of minimal models.
We implement non-minimal flavour violation (NMFV) in the MSSM at low scale. In this framework, we propose benchmark points for the mSUGRA scenario including non-minimal flavour violation by evaluating a number of experimental low-energy, electroweak precision and cosmological constraints. We finally discuss phenomenological aspects of our NMFV scenario and present a numerical analysis of squark and gaugino production cross sections at the LHC.
The ansatz of vanishing A and B parameters eliminates CP violating complex phases in soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, and thus provides a simple solution to the supersymmetry CP problem. Phenomenological implications of this ansatz are investigated in the framework of minimal supergravity. We show that electroweak symmetry breakdown occurs, predicting relatively large \tan β. The ansatz survives the Higgs mass bound as well as the b \to s γconstraint if the universal gaugino mass is larger than 300 GeV. We also find that the supersymmetric co…
We study various modifications to the minimal models of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking. We argue that, under reasonable assumptions, the structure of the messenger sector is rather restricted. We investigate the effects of possible mixing between messenger and ordinary squark and slepton fields and, in particular, violation of universality. We show that acceptable values for the $μ$ and $B$ parameters can naturally arise from discrete, possibly horizontal, symmetries. We claim that in models where the supersymmetry breaking parameters $A$ and $B$ vanish at tree level, $\tanβ$ could be l…
We use the most recent data on the Higgs-like resonance h observed at 125 GeV to derive information about the mass of the heavier Higgs particles predicted by Minimal Supersymmetry. We treat as independent parameters the couplings of h to top quark, beauty and massive vector bosons and, in this three dimensional space, we locate the point realizing the best fit to data and compare it to the position of the Standard Model point and to the region of coupling values accommodating heavier Higgs particles in Minimal Supersymmetry. We conclude that mass values 320< M_H< 360 GeV are compatible at 2si…
ATLAS and CMS report indications of a Higgs boson at M_h 125 GeV. In addition, CMS data show a tenuous bump in the ZZ channel, at about 320 GeV. We make the bold assumption that it might be the indication of a secondary line corresponding to the heaviest scalar Higgs boson of Minimal Supersymmetry, H, and discuss the viability of this hypothesis. We discuss also the case of a heavier H, the relevance of the b bbar decay channel is underlined.
We calculate the low-lying spectrum of new particles expected in a minimal model wherein supersymmetry breaking at < 100 TeV is indirectly transmitted to the Standard Model. We calculate the couplings of these particles relevant to their most nearly accessible experimental signatures, and estimate those signatures quantitatively. Running of various couplings plays a crucial role in the phenomenology, specifically in generating an adequate $\neutralino_1 - \slepton_R$ splitting.
We present an extension of the minimal split supersymmetry model, which is capable of explaining the baryon asymmetry of the Universe. Instead of MSSM we start from NMSSM and split its spectrum in such a way that the low energy theory contains neutral particles, in addition to the content of minimal split supersymmetry. They trigger the strongly first order electroweak phase transition (EWPT) and provide an additional source of CP-violation. In this model, we estimate the amount of the baryon asymmetry produced during EWPT, using WKB approximation for CP-violating sources in diffusion equation…
The prospects for discovering neutral Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric model (MSSM) and in the minimal supergravity model at the LHC are investigated. Two special discovery channels are discussed: (i) the decay mode of the MSSM CP-odd Higgs boson into photon pairs, and (ii) the decays of neutral Higgs bosons into muon pairs in the MSSM as well as in the minimal supergravity model.
The new precise LEP measurements of alphas and the electroweak mixing angle as well as the new LEP II mass limits for supersymmetric particles and new calculations for the radiative (penguin) decay of the b-quark into sgamma allow a further restriction in the parameter space of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM).
We discuss low energy threshold effects and calculate the sparticle masses in the context of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We pay particular attention to the top squark and the Higgs mass parameters, and calculate the top Yukawa corrections, taking into account the successive decoupling of each particle at its threshold. We discuss the phenomenological implications in the context of the radiative symmetry breaking scenario.
After motivation and short presentation of the minimal supersymmetric model with R-symmetry (MRSSM), we address the question of accomodating the measured Higgs boson mass in accordance with electroweak precision observables and LHC constraints.
To evaluate the weak decays of b-hadrons, the $ΔB=1$ weak effective Lagrangian is the foundation. Any new physics beyond the standard model (SM) would contribute to the effective Lagrangian through the loop integration at the weak scale and evolution from the weak scale down to the hadronic scale. In this work we present a systematic analysis on the effective Lagrangian which mediates hadronic $|ΔB|=1$ processes in the framework of the minimal flavor violation supersymmetry as well as a numerical evaluation of the Wilson coefficients in the effective theory.
We consider the constraints from proton decay and $b$-$τ$ unification in the minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theory with a `visible' dynamical supersymmetry breaking sector. We show how the presence of vector-like messenger fields and the constrained superparticle mass spectrum affect the phenomenology of the model. We include the messenger fields in our renormalization group analysis between the messenger scale ($\sim 100$ TeV) and the GUT scale. We show that the simplest model of this type, a minimal SU(5) GUT with an additional {\bf 5}+\bfbar{5} of messenger fields is excluded by…
We propose a new minimal supersymmetric scenario with virtually no fine-tuning in the electroweak symmetry breaking. It favors light supersymmetric spectrum below a few TeV and predicts definite relations among stop and gaugino masses and LSP higgsino with $μ\lesssim 200$ GeV, which are within the reach of coming LHC experiment.
After promoting the phases of the soft masses to dynamical fields corresponding to Goldstone bosons of spontaneously broken global symmetries in the supersymmetry breaking sector, the next-to-minimal supersymmetric model is found to solve the $μ$ problem and the strong CP problem simultaneously with an invisible axion. The domain wall problem persists in the form of axionic domain formation. Relaxation dynamics of the physical CP-violating phases is determined only by the short-distance physics and their relaxation values are not necessarily close to the CP-conserving points. Having observable…
We reexamine the solution of the minimal Zee model by comparing with the data of the SNO experiment, and conclude that the model is strongly disfavored but not yet excluded by the observations. Two extensions of the Zee model are briefly discussed both of which introduce additional freedom and can accommodate the data.
Complete expressions of effective Hamilton for $b\rightarrow sl^+l^-\;(l=μ,\;τ)$ are derived in the framework of minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model with local $B-L$ gauge symmetry. With some assumptions on parameters of the model, a numerical analysis of the supersymmetric contributions to the branching ratios of $B_s^0\rightarrow l^+l^-\;(l=μ,\;τ)$ is presented.
We study the explicit CP violation of the Higgs sector in the next--to--minimal supersymmetric model with a gauge singlet Higgs field. Our numerical predictions show that electric dipole moment of electron lies around the present experimental upper limits. The mass of the lightest Higgs boson is quite sensitive to the CP violating phases in the theory. It is observed that as the vacuum expectation value of the singlet gets higher values, CP violation increases.
We review the sources and phenomenology of non-minimal flavour violation in the MSSM. We discuss in some detail the most important theoretical and experimental constraints, as well as promising observables to look for supersymmetric effects at the LHC and in the future. We emphasize the sensitivity of flavour physics to the mechanism of supersymmetry breaking and to new degrees of freedom present at fundamental scales, such as the grand unification scale. We include a discussion of present data that may hint at departures from the Standard Model.
We investigate couplings of squarks to gauge and Higgs-bosons within the framework of non-minimal flavour violation in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Introducing non-diagonal elements in the mass matrices of squarks, we first study their impact on the self-energies and physical mass eigenvalues of squarks. We then present an extensive analysis of bosonic squark decays for variations of the flavour-violating parameters around the two benchmark scenarios SPS1a' and SPS1b. Signatures, that would be characteristic for a non-minimal flavour structure in the squark sector, can be found i…
We present here an overview of the SuperIso program which is a public code dedicated to the calculation of flavor physics observables in supersymmetry. The main purpose of the SuperIso program is to provide, by confronting the theoretical predictions to the experimental data for flavor observables, indirect constraints on the parameters of supersymmetry. These constraints can then provide limits on physical masses of yet undiscovered new particles, such as charged Higgs bosons.
The new CDF II measurement of $W$-boson mass shows a 7$σ$ deviation from the Standard Model (SM) prediction, while the recent FNAL measurement of the muon $g-2$ shows a 4.2$σ$ deviation (combined with the BNL result) from the SM. Both of them strongly indicate new physics beyond the SM. In this work we study the implication of both measurements on low energy supersymmetry. With an extensive exploration of the parameter space of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), we find that in the parameter space allowed by current experimental constraints from colliders and dark matter detecti…
We review: 1) constraints on low energy supersymmetry from the search for Higgs boson and from precision data, 2) dependence of coupling unification on the superpartner spectrum, 3) naturalness and fine tuning in the minimal and non-minimal scenarios.
Extra vector-like matter with both electroweak-singlet masses and large Yukawa couplings can significantly raise the lightest Higgs boson mass in supersymmetry through radiative corrections. I consider models of this type that involve a large Yukawa coupling between weak isotriplet and isodoublet chiral supermultiplets. The particle content can be completed to provide perturbative gauge coupling unification, in several different ways. The impact on precision electroweak observables is shown to be acceptably small, even if the new particles are as light as the current experimental bounds of ord…
We investigate the experimental implications of the minimal gauge-mediated low energy supersymmetry breaking (GMLESB) model for Fermilab Tevatron collider experiments. We map out the regions of parameter space of this model that have already been excluded by collider searches and by limits on $b\to sγ$. We use ISAJET to compute the cross sections for a variety of topological signatures which include photons in assocation with multiple leptons, jets and missing transverse energy. The reach in the parameter $Λ$, which fixes the scale of sparticle masses, is estimated to be $\sim 60$, 100 and 135…
In the CMSSM the heaviest scalar and pseudo-scalar Higgs bosons decay largely into b-quarks and tau-leptons because of the large $\tanβ$ values favored by the relic density. In the NMSSM the number of possible decay modes is much richer. In addition to the CMSSM-like scenarios, the decay of the heavy Higgs bosons is preferentially into top quark pairs (if kinematically allowed), lighter Higgs bosons or neutralinos, leading to invisible decays. We provide a scan over the NMSSM parameter space to project the 6D parameter space of the Higgs sector on the 3D space of the Higgs masses to determine …
If the minimal supersymmetric standard model is the solution to the hierarchy problem, the scalar top quark (stop) and the Higgsino should weigh around the electroweak scale such as 200 GeV. A low messenger scale, which results in a light gravitino, is also suggested to suppress the quantum corrections to the Higgs mass parameters. Therefore the minimal model for natural supersymmetry is a system with stop/Higgsino/gravitino whereas other superparticles are heavy. We study the LHC signatures of the minimal system and discuss the discovery potential and methods for the mass measurements.
The prospects of detecting the CP-odd Higgs pseudoscalar ($A$) in the minimal supersymmetric model via its decay into a $Z$ boson and the lighter CP-even Higgs scalar ($h$) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider are investigated. The final state of $Z \to l^+l^-$ and $h \to b\bar{b}$, may provide a promising way to simultaneously detect the $A$ and the $h$. The compact muon solenoid detector performance is adopted for a realistic study of observability. In this discovery channel, the masses of the $h$ and the $A$ can be reconstructed. The impact of supersymmetric decay modes is considered.
We use the framework of asymptotic safety above the Planck scale to constrain the parameter space of simple models of new physics that can accommodate the measured value of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and the relic density of dark matter. We couple parametrically to the trans-Planckian quantum physics a set of SU(2)$\times$U(1) invariant extensions of the Standard Model, each comprising an inert scalar field and one pair of colorless fermions that communicate to the muons through Yukawa-type interactions. The presence of an interactive UV fixed point in the system of gauge and Yu…
We present an extensive analysis of squark and gaugino hadroproduction and decays in non-minimal flavour violating supersymmetry. We employ the so-called super-CKM basis to define the possible misalignment of quark and squark rotations, and we use generalized (possibly complex) charges to define the mutual couplings of (s)quarks and gauge bosons/gauginos. The cross sections for all squark-(anti-)squark/gaugino pair and squark-gaugino associated production processes as well as their decay widths are then given in compact analytic form. For four different constrained supersymmetry breaking model…
I discuss a ``more minimal'' modification of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, in which supersymmetry breaking is connected with the physics of flavor. Flavor Changing Neutral Currents (FCNC) for the first two families are suppressed, and for the third family may be of comparable size to the FCNC in the Standard Model.
The Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking and trilinear R-parity violation is applied to the description of neutrinoless double beta decay. A detailed study of limits on the parameter space coming from the B to (X,gamma) processes by using the recent CLEO results is performed. The importance of two-nucleon and pion-exchange realizations of neutrinoless double beta decay together with gluino and neutralino contributions to this process are addressed. We have deduced new limits on the trilinear R-parity breaking parameter lambda_{111}' from the non-obse…
We discuss the role that Higgs coupling measurements can play in differentiating supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. Fitting current LHC data to the Higgs couplings, we find that the likelihood fit shows a preference in the direction of suppressed (enhanced) bottom (top) quark couplings. In the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model, we demonstrate that for tan beta > 1, there is tension in achieving such fermion couplings due to the structure of the Higgs quartic couplings. In anticipation of interpreting supersymmetric models with future data, we determine a single straightforwar…
We present an extensive analysis of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking models with minimal and non-minimal flavour violation. We first demonstrate that low-energy, precision electroweak, and cosmological constraints exclude large "collider-friendly" regions of the minimal parameter space. We then discuss various possibilities how flavour violation, although naturally suppressed, may still occur in gauge-mediation models. The introduction of non-minimal flavour violation at the electroweak scale is shown to relax the stringent experimental constraints, so that benchmark points, that are also…
We precisely derive the mass squared matrices for charged and neutral (CP-odd and CP-even) Higgs, as well as the mass matrices for neutrino-neutralino and charged lepton-chargino in the minimal R-parity violating supersymmetry with local $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry. In the framework the nonzero TeV scale vacuum expectations of right-handed sneutrinos induce the heavy mass of neutral $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge boson, and result in relatively large mixing between the lightest CP-even Higgs and three generation right-handed sneutrinos when we include the one-loop corrections to the scalar potential. We numeric…
We construct realistic supersymmetric theories in which the correct scale for electroweak symmetry breaking is obtained without significant fine-tuning. We consider two classes of models. In one class supersymmetry breaking is transmitted to the supersymmetric standard model sector through Dirac gaugino mass terms generated by a D-term vacuum expectation value of a U(1) gauge field. In the other class the supersymmetry breaking sector is separated from the supersymmetric standard model sector in an extra dimension, and the transmission of supersymmetry breaking occurs through gauge mediation. …
We classify the variety of low-energy supersymmetric signatures that can be probed at future colliders. We focus on phenomena associated with the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model. The structure of the supersymmetry-breaking introduces additional model assumptions. The approaches considered here are supergravity-mediated and gauge-mediated supersymmetry-breaking. Alternative phenomenologies arising in non-minimal and/or R-parity-violating approaches are also briefly examined.
We present the radiative corrections to neutrino masses in a minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model with local $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry. At tree level, three tiny active neutrinos and two nearly massless sterile neutrinos can be obtained through the seesaw mechanism. Considering the one-loop corrections to the neutrino masses, the numerical results indicate that two sterile neutrinos obtain ${\rm KeV}$ masses and the small active-sterile neutrino mixing angles. The lighter sterile neutrino is a very interesting dark matter candidate in cosmology. Meanwhile the active neutrinos mix…
We present analytic expressions for the top and bottom Yukawa couplings in the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model when both couplings $h_{t,0},h_{b,0}$ are large at the unification scale. For sufficiently large $h_{t,0},h_{b,0}$, i.e. within $\sim (20-25)\% $ close to their fixed point values, using as input the central value of the bottom mass $m_b(m_b)=4.25GeV$, we find that the top mass lies in the range $m_t \approx (174-178)GeV$, while $tanβ\approx (55-58)$. Implications on the evolution of the scalar masses and the radiative symmetry breaking scenario are discussed. %
Motivated in part by recent demonstrations that electroweak unification into a simple group may occur at a low scale, we detail the requirements on the Higgs mass if the unification is to be perturbative. We do this for the Standard Model effective theory, minimal supersymmetry, and next-to-minimal supersymmetry with an additional singlet field. Within the Standard Model framework, we find that perturbative unification with sin2(thetaW)=1/4 occurs at Lambda=3.8 TeV and requires mh<460 GeV, whereas perturbative unification with sin2(thetaW)=3/8 requires mh<200 GeV. In supersymmetry, the present…
This review provides an elementary discussion of electroweak symmetry breaking in the minimal and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric models with the focus on the fine-tuning problem -- the tension between natural electroweak symmetry breaking and the direct search limit on the Higgs boson mass. Two generic solutions of the fine-tuning problem are discussed in detail: models with unusual Higgs decays; and models with unusual pattern of soft supersymmetry breaking parameters.
If N=2 supersymmetry breaks to N=1 supersymmetry at an intermediate scale $m_2$ and then, later on, N=1 supersymmetry breaks and produces standard model at a scale $m_{susy}$ such that $m_2 > m_{susy}$, renormalization group evolution of three gauge couplings are altered above the scale $m_2$, changing the unification scale and the unified coupling. We show that when we enforce this general condition $m_2 > m_{susy}$ on the solutions of the renormalization group equations, the condition is translated into an upper bound on the scale $m_{susy}$. Using presently favored values of $α_1(m_z),α_2(m…
We study the most promising signals of Constrained Minimal Supersymmetry detectable at a luminosity upgraded 2 TeV Fermilab Tevatron collider. Using a full event-level Monte Carlo based on Pythia/Jetset, we simulate the trilepton signal examining in detail the effect of constraints on the parameter space. We also simulate the monolepton and dilepton signals, the missing E_T + jets signal, and the signals of stop production in supersymmetry all with full Standard Model backgrounds with realistic detector cuts. We find that large fractions of parameter space can be probed (or eliminated if no si…
We examine the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) with an additional requirement of strict b - tau unification in the region of small tan(beta). We find that the parameter space becomes completely limited below about 1 TeV by physical constraints alone, without a fine-tuning constraint. We study the resulting phenomenological consequences, and point out several ways of falsifying the adopted b - tau unification assumption. We also comment on the effect of a constraint from the non-observation of proton decay.
This Letter addresses a provocative question: ``Can the standard electroweak Higgs doublets and their color-triplet partners be the messengers of a low energy gauge-mediated SUSY breaking?" Such a possibility does not seem to be immediately ruled out. If so, it can lead to a very economical scheme with clear-cut predictions quite distinct from those of the conventional gauge-mediated scenario. Namely, we get (i) a single light Higgs below the original SUSY- breaking scale; (ii) tan(beta) = 1; (iii) flavor non-universal, but automatically flavor-conserving soft scalar masses; (iv) a light color…
Sleptons can easily be found at future linear e+e- colliders if kinematically accessible. Measurements of their masses and decay distributions would then determine MSSM parameters. This paper presents a detailed MC study of the production and decay of the lighter scalar tau lepton, stau1. We found that mstau1 and the left-right mixing angle of stau would be measured within an error of a few percent. tanbeta is determinable in some region of the parameter space through simultaneous studies of stau1-and selectron-pair production: the polarization measurement of the tau leptons from stau1 decays …
We investigate the prospects for the discovery at the CERN Large Hadron Collider of a neutral Higgs boson produced with one bottom quark followed by Higgs decay into a muon pair. We work within the framework of the minimal supersymmetric model. The dominant physics background from the production of $b μ^+μ^-$, $jμ^+μ^-$, j=g,u,d,s,c, and $b {\bar b} W^+W^-$ is calculated with realistic acceptance cuts. Promising results are found for the CP-odd pseudoscalar ($A^0$) and the heavier CP-even scalar ($H^0$) Higgs bosons with masses up to 600 GeV. This discovery channel with one energetic bottom qu…
