We present here an overview of the SuperIso program which is a public code dedicated to the calculation of flavor physics observables in supersymmetry. The main purpose of the SuperIso program is to provide, by confronting the theoretical predictions to the experimental data for flavor observables, indirect constraints on the parameters of supersymmetry. These constraints can then provide limits on physical masses of yet undiscovered new particles, such as charged Higgs bosons.
We describe SuperIso v3.0 which is a public program for evaluation of flavor physics observables in the Standard Model (SM), general two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM), minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and next to minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). SuperIso v3.0, in addition to the branching ratio of B -> X_s gamma and the isospin asymmetry of B -> K* gamma, incorporates other flavor observables such as the branching ratio of B_s -> mu+ mu-, the branching ratio of B -> tau nu_tau, the branching ratio of B -> D tau nu_tau, the branching ratio of K -> mu nu_mu and the branchi…
We describe SuperIso Relic, a public program for evaluation of relic density and flavor physics observables in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM). SuperIso Relic is an extension of the SuperIso program which adds to the flavor observables of SuperIso the computation of all possible annihiliation and coannihilation processes of the LSP which are required for the relic density calculation. All amplitudes have been generated at the tree level with FeynArts/FormCalc, and widths of the Higgs bosons are computed with FeynHiggs at the two-loop level. SuperIso Relic also…
We present a program for calculating the isospin symmetry breaking of the B -> K* gamma decay in the MSSM with minimal flavor violation. This program calculates the NLO supersymmetric contributions to the isospin asymmetry, using the effective Hamiltonian approach and within the QCD factorization method. We show that isospin symmetry breaking proves to be a very restrictive observable, in particular in the mSUGRA parameter space. The program also calculates the inclusive branching ratio associated to b -> s gamma transition, as a comparison reference.
We present an overview of SuperIso v4.1 which is a public program for the calculation of flavour physics observables. We give examples of using SuperIso to constrain new physics scenarios with kaon physics and present the implications of rare B-decays.
We describe SuperIso Relic, a public program for the calculation of dark matter relic density and direct and indirect detection rates, which includes in addition the SuperIso routines for the calculation of flavour physics observables. SuperIso Relic v4 incorporates many new features, namely the possibility of multiprocessor calculation of the relic density, new cosmological models, and the implementations of the calculation of the observables related to direct and indirect detection experiments. Furthermore, the new version includes an implementation of the nuclear and astrophysical uncertain…
We discuss the implications of B_s -> mu+mu- and B -> K*mu+mu- decays in the context of indirect searches for new physics, emphasising the new LHCb results. In particular, we derive the consequences of the MFV hypothesis and discuss the importance of the MFV predictions. The impact of the recent LHCb measurements in the context of the MSSM will also be addressed, and the SuperIso program will be briefly described.
SuperIso Relic is a public computing program for the calculation of flavour observables and relic density in supersymmetry (MSSM and NMSSM). We present new extensions of the code dedicated to the calculation of dark matter direct and indirect detection constraints from the latest experimental results. Contrary to most of the existing programs, this new version allows the user to consider straightforwardly the uncertainties related to nuclear form factors, dark matter density and velocity, as well as cosmic-ray propagation through the galactic medium. The user thus finds a direct way to calcula…
We present an overview of the indirect constraints from flavor physics on supersymmetric models. During the past few years flavor data, and in particular b -> s gamma transitions, have been extensively used in order to constrain supersymmetric parameter spaces. We will briefly illustrate here the constraints obtained by a collection of low energy observables including FCNC transitions, rare decays, leptonic and semileptonic decays of B mesons, as well as leptonic decays of K mesons. The theoretical predictions can be obtained using the computer program SuperIso.
A new code for the scale evolution of modified-minimal-subtraction-scheme parton densities is described. Through next-to-leading order the program uses exact splitting functions. In next-to-next-to-leading order approximate splitting functions are used. For efficiency the program includes analytical results for the evaluation of the weights required for the integrations over the longitudinal momentum fractions of the partons. It also incorporates the operator matrix elements required for the matching conditions across heavy flavor thresholds in higher order perturbation theory. The more effici…
We discuss some highlights of the FCC-ee flavor physics program. It will help to explore various aspects of flavor physics: to test precision calculations, to probe nonperturbative QCD methods, and to increase the sensitivity to physics beyond the standard model. In some areas, FCC-ee will do much better than current and near-future experiments. We briefly discuss several probes that can be relevant for maximizing the gain from the FCC-ee flavor program.
We present SUSY_FLAVOR version 2.5 - program that calculates over 30 low-energy flavor observables in the general $R$-parity conserving MSSM. Comparing to previous versions, in SUSY_FLAVOR v2.5 parameter initialization in SLHA2 formats has been significantly generalized, so that the program accepts most of the output files produced by other libraries analyzing the MSSM phenomenology. Number of bugs and inconsistencies have been fixed, based on users feedback. Calculations of several processes implemented in earlier versions have been corrected. New processes of rare decays of the top quark to …
Evidences of a discrete symmetry behind the pattern of lepton mixing are analyzed. The program of "symmetry building" is outlined. Generic features and problems of realization of this program in consistent gauge models are formulated. The key issues include the flavor symmetry breaking, connection of mixing and masses, {\it ad hoc} prescription of flavor charges, "missing" representations, existence of new particles, possible accidental character of the TBM mixing. Various ways are considered to extend the leptonic symmetries to the quark sector and to reconcile them with Grand Unification. In…
We introduce the program SuSeFLAV for computing supersymmetric mass spectra with flavor violation in various supersymmetric breaking scenarios with/without seesaw mechanism. A short user guide summarizing the compilation, executables and the input files is provided.
I present SUSY_FLAVOR - a Fortran 77 program able to calculate simultaneously 29 low-energy flavor and CP-violating observables in the general R-parity conserving MSSM, including the case of large flavor violation in the sfermion sector. SUSY_FLAVOR v2 performs also the resummation of chirally enhanced corrections, arising in large $\tanβ$ regime and/or large trilinear soft mixing terms, to all orders of perturbation theory. I discuss an example of application of SUSY_FLAVOR to analysis of the $B_s \to μ^+ μ^-$ decay rate in the MSSM.
Accurate supersymmetric spectra are required to confront data from direct and indirect searches of supersymmetry. \SUSEFLAV is a numerical tool which is capable of computing supersymmetric spectra accurately for various supersymmetric breaking scenarios applicable even in the presence of flavor violation. The program solves MSSM RGEs with complete $3\times3$ flavor mixing at 2-loop level and one loop finite threshold corrections to all MSSM parameters by incorporating radiative electroweak symmetry breaking conditions. The program also incorporates the Type-I seesaw mechanism with three massiv…
We present SUSY_FLAVOR version 2.5 - a Fortran 77 program that calculates low-energy flavor observables in the general $R$-parity conserving MSSM. For a set of MSSM parameters as input, the code gives predictions for: 1. Electric dipole moments of the leptons and the neutron. 2. Anomalous magnetic moments (i.e. $g-2$) of the leptons. 3. Radiative lepton decays ($μ\to eγ$ and $τ\to μγ, eγ$). 4. Rare Kaon decays ($K^0_L\to π^0\barνν$ and $K^+\to π^+ \barνν$). 5. Leptonic $B$ decays ($B_{s,d}\to l^+ l^-$, $B\to τν$, $B\to D τν$ and $B\to D^\star τν$). 6. Radiative $B$ decays ($B\to\bar X_s γ$). 7…
Using a physically motivated parameterization based on the reggeized diquark model we perform a flavor separation of the chiral-odd generalized parton distributions obtained from both $π^0$ and $η$ exclusive electroproduction. In our approach we exploit a connection between the chiral-even and chiral-odd reduced helicity amplitudes using Parity transformations that are relevant for a class of models that includes two-component models. We compare our results for $η$ production to the previously obtained $π^0$ results, and we make predictions for the transverse single spin asymmetry components w…
Recent LHC W/Z vector boson production data in proton-lead collisions are quite sensitive to the heavier flavors (especially the strange PDF), and this complements the information from neutrino-DIS data. As the proton flavor determination is dependent on nuclear corrections (from heavy target DIS, for example), LHC heavy ion measurements can also help improve proton PDFs. We introduce a new implementation of the nCTEQ code (nCTEQ++) based on C++ which has a modular strucure and enables us to easily integrate programs such as HOPPET, APPLgrid, and MCFM. Using ApplGrids generated from MCFM, we u…
A program dedicated to the numerical solution of the evolution equations for twist-three multiparton correlation functions is presented. The solutions are obtained by direct integration on a discretized momentum fraction grid. Both flavor nonsinglet and flavor singlet evolution (in both $C$-parity sectors) can be addressed. Physical applications include single spin asymmetries and the subleading twist contribution to the polarized structure function $g_2$. An arbitrary input is accepted for the initial distributions.
Sufficient control of transition form factors is a vital ingredient for the precision flavor programs including the nearer term searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the forthcoming Belle II experiment. We improve on existing methods to extract B -> K^* form factor ratios at low hadronic recoil from B -> K^* l^+ l^- data on the angular observables F_L, A_T^(2) and P'_4 by adding heavy quark symmetry-based constraints and by investigating the cross talk between low and large recoil. The data-extracted form factor ratios i) provide benchmarks for the lattice and light cone sum rule pre…
We present first results of $Z+4$ jet cross sections at the Tevatron $p\bar p$ collider with heavy quark flavor identification. The $Z + 4$ jet channel is of particular interest as a normalizer for the $W +4$ jet background to top quark signals, as a background to a possible $t\to cZ$ flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) decay signal, and as a background to missing-$p_T$ signals from gluino pairs. We also calculate the different heavy flavor contributions to $W+4$ jet production. The MADGRAPH program is used to generate all leading order subprocess helicity amplitudes. We present Monte Carlo…
The proposed high-energy and high-luminosity Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) will provide one of the cleanest environments to precisely determine the nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) in a wide $x$-$Q^{2}$ range. Heavy flavor production at the EIC provides access to nPDFs in the poorly constrained high Bjorken-$x$ region, allows us to study the quark and gluon fragmentation processes, and constrains parton energy loss in cold nuclear matter. Scientists at the Los Alamos National Laboratory are developing a new physics program to study heavy flavor production, flavor tagged jets, and he…
We compare different schemes for the treatment of heavy quark production in Deep-Inelastic Scattering (DIS). For fully-integrated quantities such as $F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$, we advocate the use of the General-Massive Variable-Flavor-Number (GM-VFN) scheme; we present some results showing the progress of a Next-to-Leading Order calculation in this scheme. For differential quantities, the Fixed-Flavor-Number (FFN) scheme provides a more appropriate starting point. We present a new calculation of the azimuthal distribution of charm quark production in DIS. All results have been obtained using a Monte Ca…
The program of reconstruction of the neutrino mass and flavor spectrum is outlined and the present status of research is summarized. We describe the role of future solar and atmospheric neutrino experiments, detection of the Galactic supernovae and double beta decay searches in accomplishing this program. The LSND result and four neutrino mass spectra are considered in connection with recent searches for the sterile components in the solar and atmospheric neutrino fluxes.
We present the first calculation of $Z+4$ jet production with heavy quark flavor identification at the Tevatron $p\bar p$ collider. The $Z + 4$ jet channel is especially interesting as a normalizer for the $W +4$ jet background to top quark signals, as a background to a possible $t\to cZ$ flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) decay signal, and as a background to missing-$p_T$ signals from gluino pairs. We also calculate the contributions to $W+4$ jet production from all the different heavy-flavor final states. The MADGRAPH program is used to generate all leading order subprocess helicity ampl…
We present a fully automated procedure providing an easy way to perform, systematically, phenomenological analyses in flavor physics for general BSM scenarios. This procedure relies on MARTY-1.4, is model independent and requires as input only the Lagrangian of the theory. Once the Lagrangian has been defined, tree-level and one-loop Wilson coefficients can be calculated symbolically by MARTY, from which flavor observables can be computed numerically by available software programs. We focus in particular on $b\to sγ$ and the recently updated $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ observables which are in tensio…
We present possible indications for flavor separation during the QCD crossover transition based on continuum extrapolated lattice QCD calculations of higher order susceptibilities. We base our findings on flavor specific quantities in the light and strange quark sector. We propose a possible experimental verification of our prediction, based on the measurement of higher order moments of identified particle multiplicities. Since all our calculations are performed at zero baryochemical potential, these results are of particular relevance for the heavy ion program at the LHC.
We present a new version of the CompHEP program (version 4.4). We describe shortly new issues implemented in this version, namely, simplification of quark flavor combinatorics for the evaluation of hadronic processes, Les Houches Accord based CompHEP-PYTHIA interface, processing the color configurations of events, implementation of MSSM, symbolical and numerical batch modes, etc. We discuss how the CompHEP program is used for preparing event generators for various physical processes. We mention a few concrete physics examples for CompHEP based generators prepared for the LHC and Tevatron.
Extraction of the strange quark PDF is a long-standing puzzle. We use the nCTEQ nPDFs with uncertainties to study the impact of the LHC W/Z production data on both the flavor differentiation and nuclear corrections; this complements the information from neutrino-DIS data. As the proton flavor determination is dependent on nuclear corrections (from heavy target DIS, for example), LHC heavy ion measurements can also help improve proton PDFs. We introduce a new implementation of the nCTEQ code (nCTEQ++) based on C++ which has a modular strucure and enables us to easily integrate programs such as …
We investigate charm production in charged-current deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) using the xFitter program. xFitter is an open-source software framework for the determination of PDFs and the analysis of QCD physics, and has been used for a variety of LHC studies. The study of charged current DIS charm production provides an important perspective on the strange quark PDF, s(x). We make use of the xFitter tools to study the present s(x) constraints, and then use LHeC pseudodata to infer how these might improve. Furthermore, as xFitter implements both Fixed Flavor and Variable Flavor number sch…
We present SUSY_FLAVOR -- a Fortran 77 program that calculates important leptonic and semi-leptonic low-energy observables in the general R-parity conserving MSSM. For a set of input MSSM parameters, the code gives predictions for the K0-bar K0, D-bar D, B_d-bar B_d and B_s-bar B_s mixing parameters; B to X_s gamma, B_{s,d} to l+ l-, K0_L to pi nu-bar nu and K+ to pi+ nu-bar nu decay branching ratios; and the electric dipole moments of the leptons and the neutron. All these quantities are calculated at one-loop level (with some higher-order QCD corrections included) in the exact sfermion mass …

The mixing of neutral mesons is sensitive to some of the highest scales probed in laboratory experiments. In light of the planned LHCb Upgrade II, a possible upgrade of Belle II, and the broad interest in flavor physics in the tera-$Z$ phase of the proposed FCC-ee program, we study constraints on new physics contributions to $B_d$ and $B_s$ mixings which can be obtained in these benchmark scenarios. We explore the limitations of this program, and identify the measurement of $|V_{cb}|$ as one of the key ingredients in which progress beyond current expectations is necessary to maximize future se…
Capitalizing on recent advances in lattice QCD, we present a calculation of the leptonic decay constants f_{B_s} and f_{D_s} that includes effects of one strange sea quark and two light sea quarks. The discretization errors of improved staggered fermion actions are small enough to simulate with 3 dynamical flavors on lattices with spacings around 0.1 fm using present computer resources. By shedding the quenched approximation and the associated lattice scale ambiguity, lattice QCD greatly increases its predictive power. NRQCD is used to simulate heavy quarks with masses between 1.5 m_c and m_b.…
The $t\bar t$ plus missing energy channel is one of the most efficient to detect third-generation leptoquarks (LQs). It offers an important test to models which explain flavor anomalies in $B$ meson decays. We outline a search strategy in the channel, relying on tagging the tops and on observables constructed out of the tops, and we assess the reach on LQs of the future high-luminosity LHC program. We find that with 3 ab$^{-1}$ a vector (scalar) LQ decaying 50% (100%) to top and neutrino can be excluded up to masses of 1.96 TeV (1.54 TeV). We also indicate several observables that, in case of …
