In this paper we study the compactness of operators on the Bergman space of the unit ball and on very generally weighted Bargmann-Fock spaces in terms of the behavior of their Berezin transforms and the norms of the operators acting on reproducing kernels. In particular, in the Bergman space setting we show how a vanishing Berezin transform combined with certain (integral) growth conditions on an operator $T$ are sufficient to imply that the operator is compact. In the weighted Bargmann-Fock space setting we show that the reproducing kernel thesis for compactness holds for operators satisfying similar growth conditions. The main results extend the results of Xia and Zheng to the case of the Bergman space when $1 < p < \infty$, and in the weighted Bargmann-Fock space setting, our results provide new, more general conditions that imply the work of Xia and Zheng via a more familiar approach that can also handle the $1 < p < \infty$ case.
We study compact operators on the Bergman space of the Thullen domain defined by $\{(z_1,z_2)\in \mathbb C^2: |z_1|^{2p}+|z_2|^2<1\}$ with $p>0$ and $p\neq 1$. The domain need not be smooth nor have a transitive automorphism group. We give a sufficient condition for the boundedness of various operators on the Bergman space. Under this boundedness condition, we characterize the compactness of operators on the Bergman space of the Thullen domain.
Bergman-type integral operators are classical operators in complex analysis and operator theory. Recently, the first author and his collaborator \cite{DiW} completely characterized the $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of Bergman-type integral operators $K_α,K_α^+$ and the $L^p$-$L^q$ compactness of $K_α$ on the unit ball. In this paper, we will use a substantially new method to completely characterize the $L^p$-$L^q$ compactness of $K_α^+,$ but also prove that the $L^p$-$L^q$ compactness of operators $K_α,K_α^+$ is in fact equivalent. Moreover, we completely characterize Schatten class and Macaev class…
We study the compactness of composition operators on the Bergman spaces of certain bounded pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$ with non-trivial analytic disks contained in the boundary. As a consequence we characterize that compactness of the composition operator with a holomorphic, continuous symbol (up to the closure) on the Bergman space of the polydisk.
In this paper we solve a problem posed by H. Bommier-Hato, M. Engliš and E.H. Youssfi in [3] on the boundedness of the Bergman-type projections in generalized Fock spaces. It will be a consequence of two facts: a full description of the embeddings between generalized Fock-Sobolev spaces and a complete characterization of the boundedness of the above Bergman type projections between weighted $L^p$-spaces related to generalized Fock-Sobolev spaces.
We study the compactness of composition operators on the Bergman spaces of certain bounded convex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$ with non-trivial analytic discs contained in the boundary. As a consequence we characterize that compactness of the composition operator with a continuous symbol (up to the closure) on the Bergman space of the polydisc.
Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{C}^n$ for $n\geq 2$ be a bounded pseudoconvex domain with a $C^2$-smooth boundary. We study the compactness of composition operators on the Bergman spaces of smoothly bounded convex domains. We give a partial characterization of compactness of the composition operator (with sufficient regularity of the symbol) in terms of the behavior of the Jacobian on the boundary. We then construct a counterexample to show the converse of the theorem is false.
We study the boundedness and compactness of the generalized Volterra integral operator on weighted Bergman spaces with doubling weights on the unit disk. A generalized Toeplitz operator is defined and the boundedness, compactness and Schatten class of this operator are investigated on the Hilbert weighted Bergman space. As an application, Schatten class membership of generalized Volterra integral operators are also characterized. Finally, we also get the characterizations of Schatten class membership of generalized Toeplitz operator and generalized Volterra integral operators on the Hardy spac…
We consider Volterra-type integration operators $T_g$ between Bergman spaces induced by weights $ω$ satisfying a doubling property. We derive estimates for the operator norms, essential and weak essential norms of $T_g: A_ω^p \to A_ω^q$, $0<p\leq q<\infty$. In particular, the operator $T_g: A_ω^1\to A_ω^1$ is weakly compact if and only if it is compact.
In this paper, we study the Bergman kernel $B_φ(x,y)$ of generalized Bargmann-Fock spaces in the setting of Clifford algebra. The versions of $L^2$-estimate method and weighted subharmonic inequality for Clifford algebra are established. Consequently we show the existence of $B_φ(x,y)$ and then give some estimates on and off the diagonal. As a by-product, we also obtain an upper estimate of the weighted harmonic Bergman kernel.
We characterize operator-theoretic properties (boundedness, compactness, and Schatten class membership) of Toeplitz operators with positive measure symbols on Bergman spaces of holomorphic hermitian line bundles over Kähler Cartan-Hadamard manifolds in terms of geometric or operator-theoretic properties of measures.
This paper deals with some special integral transforms of Bargmann-Fock type in the setting of quaternionic valued slice hyperholomorphic and Cauchy-Fueter regular functions. The construction is based on the well-known Fueter mapping theorem. In particular, starting with the normalized Hermite functions we can construct an Appell system of quaternionic regular polynomials. The ranges of such integral transforms are quaternionic reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces of regular functions. New integral representations and generating functions in this quaternionic setting are obtained in both the Fock…
In this paper, the boundedness and compactness of the difference of composition-differentiation operators $D_φ-D_ψ$ acting from Hardy spaces $H^p$ to weighted Bergman spaces $A^q_α$ are completely characterize for all $0<p,q<\infty$.
In this paper, we give some estimates for the essential norm and a new characterization for the boundedness and compactness of weighted composition operators from weighted Bergman spaces and Hardy spaces to the Bloch space.
Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{C}^2$ be a bounded pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domain with a smooth boundary. We study the behavior of analytic structure in the boundary of $Ω$ and obtain a compactness result for Hankel operators on the Bergman space of $Ω$.
We give an alternate proof of the existence of the asymptotic expansion of the Bergman kernel associated to the $k$-th tensor powers of a positive line bundle $L$ in a $\frac{1}{\sqrt{k}}$-neighborhood of the diagonal using elementary methods. We use the observation that after rescaling the Kähler potential $kφ$ in a $\frac{1}{\sqrt{k}}$-neighborhood of a given point, the potential becomes an asymptotic perturbation of the Bargmann-Fock metric. We then prove that the Bergman kernel is also an asymptotic perturbation of the Bargmann-Fock Bergman kernel.
The boundedness and compactness of Toeplitz operator from $A_ω^p$ to $A_ω^q$ with doubling weights $ω$ are studied in this paper. The characterizations of Schatten class Toeplitz operators and Volterra operators on $A_ω^2$ are also investigated.
We obtain some estimates for norm and essential norm of the difference of two composition operators between weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_α$ and $A^q_β$ on the unit ball. In particular, we completely characterize the boundedness and compactness of $C_φ-C_ψ: A^p_α\to A^q_β$ for full range $0<p,q<\infty$, $-1<α,β<\infty$.
The Fock-Bargmann-Hartogs domain $D_{n, m}(μ)$ is defined by $$ D_{n, m}(μ):=\{(z, w)\in\mathbb{C}^{n}\times\mathbb{C}^m:\Vert w \Vert^2<e^{-μ\Vert z \Vert^2}\},$$ where $μ>0.$ The Fock-Bargmann-Hartogs domain $D_{n, m}(μ)$ is an unbounded strongly pseudoconvex domain with smooth real-analytic boundary. In this paper, we first compute the weighted Bergman kernel of $D_{n, m}(μ)$ with respect to the weight $(-ρ)^α$, where $ρ(z,w):=\|w\|^2-e^{-μ\|z\|^2}$ is a defining function for $D_{n, m}(μ)$ and $α>-1$. Then, for $p\in [1,\infty),$ we show that the corresponding weighted Bergman projection $P…
Using the approach based on sesquilinear forms, we introduce Toeplitz operator in the analytic Bergman space on the upper half-plane with strongly singular symbols, derivatives of measures. Conditions for boundedness and compactness of such operators are found. A procedure of reduction of Toeplitz operators in Bergman spaces of polyanalytic functions to operators with singular symbols in the analytic Bergman space by means of the creation-annihilation structure is elaborated, which leads to the description of the properties of the former operators
In this article we introduce Variable exponent Fock spaces and study some of their basic properties such as the boundedness of evaluation functionals, density of polynomials, boundedness of a Bergman-type projection and duality.
In this paper, we give a universal description of the boundedness and compactness of Toeplitz operator $\mathcal{T}_μ^ω$ between Bergman spaces $A_η^p$ and $A_\upsilon^q$ when $μ$ is a positive Borel measure, $1<p,q<\infty$ and $ω,η,\upsilon$ are regular weights. By using Khinchin's inequality and Kahane's inequality, we get a new characterization of the Carleson measure for Bergman spaces induced by regular weights.
We discuss the regularity of extremal functions in certain weighted Bergman and Fock type spaces. Given an appropriate analytic function $k$, the corresponding extremal function is the function with unit norm maximizing $\text{Re} \int_Ωf(z) \overline{k(z)}\, ν(z) \, dA(z)$ over all functions $f$ of unit norm, where $ν$ is the weight function and $Ω$ is the domain of the functions in the space. We consider the case where $ν(z)$ is a decreasing radial function satisfying some additional assumptions, and where $Ω$ is either a disc centered at the origin or the entire complex plane. We show that …
In this paper, we investigate the boundedness, compactness, essential norm and the Schatten class of weighted composition operators $uC_φ$ on Bergman type spaces $A_ω^p $ with double weight $ω$. Let $X=\{u\in H(D): uC_φ:A_ω^p\to A_ω^p \mbox{ is bounded}\}.$ For some regular weights $ω$, we obtain that $X=H^\infty$ if and only if $φ$ is a finite Blaschke product.
We study positive Toeplitz operators on the Bergman spaces having the fast decreasing weight functions in a certain class. We give the characterizations for the boundedness and compactness of Toeplitz operators in terms of their Berezin transforms and averaging functions. In particular, we show the equivalent conditions in order that Toeplitz operators on $A^2(ω)$ belong to the Schatten class $S_p$, $0<p<\infty$.
For $-1<α<\infty$, let $ω_α(z)=(1+α)(1-|z|^2)^α$ be the standard weight on the unit disk. In this note, we provide descriptions of the boundedness and compactness for the Toeplitz operators $T_{μ,β}$ between distinct weighted Bergman spaces $L_{a}^{p}(ω_α)$ and $L_{a}^{q}(ω_β)$ when $0<p\leq1$, $q=1$, $-1<α,β<\infty$ and $0<p\leq 1<q<\infty, -1<β\leqα<\infty$, respectively. Our results can be viewed as extensions of Pau and Zhao's work in \cite{Pau}. Moreover, partial of main results are new even in the unweighted settings.
We study the restriction operator from the Bergman space of a domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ to the Bergman space of a non-empty open subset of the domain. We relate the restriction operator to the Toeplitz operator on the Bergman space of the domain whose symbol is the characteristic function of the subset. Using the biholomorphic invariance of the spectrum of the associated Toeplitz operator, we study the restriction operator from the Bergman space of the unit disc to the Bergman space of subdomains with large symmetry groups, such as horodiscs and subdomains bounded by hypercycles. Furthermore, w…
The purpose of this paper is to study sparse domination estimates of composition operators in the setting of complex function theory. The method originates from proofs of the $A_2$ theorem for Calderón-Zygmund operators in harmonic analysis. Using this tool from harmonic analysis, some new characterizations are given for the boundedness and compactness of weighted composition operators acting between weighted Bergman spaces in the upper half plane. Moreover, we establish a new weighted type estimate for the holomorphic Bergman-class functions, for a new class of weights, which is adapted to Sa…
This is our third work on Bergman-type operator over bounded domains. In the previous two articles, we systematically study the boundedness, compactness and Schatten membership of Bergman-type on the Hilbert unit ball. In the present paper, we investigate singular integral operators induced by the Bergman kernel and Szegö kernel on the irreducible bounded symmetric domain in its standard Harish-Chandra realization. We completely characterize when Bergman-type operators and Szegö-type operators belong to Schatten class operator ideals by several analytic numerical invariants of the bounded symm…
The usual examples of Bergman spaces consist of the closure of an algebra of holomorphic functions on a domain. One can also take the real part of such functions, but essentially one is looking at the same object. In this paper the author shows that the properties of real analyticity and bounded point evaluation can be preserved under closure in a weighted $L^p$ space, if one takes the algebra generated by $z$ and $(\bar z)g(z)$, where $g$ is an entire function satisfying some condition on the distribution of zeros near $\infty$. The condition is not difficult to satisfy with simple examples. …
In this paper we study the Bergman-Toeplitz operator $T_ψ$ induced by $ψ(w) = K_Ω^{-α}(w,w)d_Ω^β(w)$ with $α, β\geq 0$ acting from a weighted $L^p$-space $L_a^p(Ω)$ to another one $L_a^q(Ω)$ on a large class of pseudoconvex domains of finite type. In the case $1 < p \leq q < \infty$, the following results are established: \\ - Necessary and sufficient conditions for boundedness, which generalize the recent results obtained by Khanh, Liu and Thuc.\\ - Upper and lower estimates for essential norm, in particular, a criterion for compactness.\\ - A characterization of Schatten class membership of …
