In this talk I argue that a light techni-dilaton exists in models of walking technicolor near the conformal window. The light techni-dilaton then mixes with the composite Higgs, which is predicted to be narrow and light in walking technicolor models. It is an interesting possibility that the newly discovered boson at LHC might be a mixed state of techni-dilaton and the composite Higgs.
We study under which conditions a scalar particle is a viable WIMP Dark Matter candidate with Higgs and dilaton interactions. The theory is a composite Higgs model with top partial compositeness where both the Higgs and the Dark Matter candidate arise as pseudo Goldstone boson of the coset SO(6)/SO(5) from a new physics sector. We highlight the role of the dilaton in direct and indirect searches. We find that a Dark Matter particle with a mass around 200-400 GeV and a relatively light dilaton are a fair prediction of the model.
The spontaneous breakdown of the scale, the chiral and the superconformal symmetries for a hidden $SU(N)$ gauge group is studied in an effective lagrangean approach. The relevant low-energy degrees of freedom are taken to be the composite Goldstone particles associated with these three broken symmetries. Supersymmetry is spontaneously broken in the large $N$ limit and soft breaking terms in the observable sector are generated, together with nonrenormalisable Nambu-Jona-Lasinio type interactions.
We discuss the signature of the anomalous breaking of the superconformal symmetry in $\mathcal{N}=1$ super Yang Mills theory, mediated by the Ferrara-Zumino hypercurrent ($\mathcal{J}$) with two vector ($\mathcal V$) supercurrents $(\mathcal{JVV})$ and its manifestation in the anomaly action, in the form of anomaly poles. This allows to investigate in a unified way both conformal and chiral anomalies. The analysis is performed in parallel to the Standard Model, for comparison. We investigate, in particular, massive deformations of the $\mathcal{N}=1$ theory and the spectral densities of the an…
In this paper we further elaborate on our recently proposed solution to the cosmological constant problem - Phys. Rev. D82 (2010) 044006. One of the elements of the solution is the chameleonic behaviour of the Einstein frame dilaton: the mass of the dilaton is an increasing function of the matter density. In that model, a proper structure of the string-frame form factors in the strong coupling region of string theory is assumed. In particular, a stabilizing potential of the string frame dilaton is present and it is supposed to be the result of a quantum calculation. Our main purpose in this ar…
A Higgs-like dilaton owns couplings that differ from those of the Standard Model Higgs and of a generic Composite Higgs. The complete bosonic basis for a Higgs-like dilaton is presented at the first subleading order. A comparison with the Standard Model, the Standard Model Effective Field Theory and the generic Lagrangian for the minimal $SO(5)/SO(4)$ Composite Higgs model is performed. Observables that can disentangle the different hypotheses are identified.
We construct a composite two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) within the context of dilaton effective field theory. This EFT describes the particle spectrum observed in lattice simulations of a near-conformal $SU(3)$ gauge field theory. A second Higgs doublet is naturally accommodated within the EFT, used previously to construct a one-Higgs-doublet model. We explore the interplay of phenomenological and EFT requirements, supplemented by information from numerical lattice studies of the $SU(3)$ gauge theory with eight fundamental (Dirac) fermions. We build a viable model with moderate parameter tunin…
We present a comprehensive study of the electroweak phase transition in composite Higgs models, where the Higgs arises from a new, strongly-coupled sector which confines near the TeV scale. This work extends our study in Ref. [1]. We describe the confinement phase transition in terms of the dilaton, the pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of broken conformal invariance of the composite Higgs sector. From the analysis of the joint Higgs-dilaton potential we conclude that in this scenario the electroweak phase transition can naturally be first-order, allowing for electroweak baryogenesis. We then exten…
In the context of gauge/gravity dualities, we calculate the scalar and tensor mass spectrum of the boundary theory defined by a special 8-scalar sigma-model in five dimensions, the background solutions of which include the 1-parameter family dual to the baryonic branch of the Klebanov-Strassler field theory. This provides an example of a strongly-coupled, multi-scale system that yields a parametrically light mass for one of the composite scalar particles: the dilaton. We briefly discuss the implications of these findings towards identifying a satisfactory solution to both the big and little hi…
We analyze a composite Higgs model based on the confining $SU(3)$ gauge theory with $N_f = 8$ Dirac fermions in the fundamental representation. This gauge theory has been studied on the lattice and shown to be well described by a dilaton effective field theory (EFT). Here we modify the EFT by assigning standard-model quantum numbers such that four of the composite pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson (pNGB) fields form the standard-model Higgs doublet, by coupling it to the top quark, and by adding to the potential a term that triggers electroweak symmetry breaking. The model contains a pNGB Higgs bos…
We critically discuss the possibility that the 125 GeV boson recently discovered at the LHC is the holographic techni-dilaton, a composite state emerging from a strongly-coupled model of electroweak symmetry breaking. This composite state differs from the SM for three main reasons. Its decay constant is in general larger than the electroweak scale, hence suppressing all the couplings to standard model particles with respect to an elementary Higgs boson, with the exception of the coupling to photons and gluons, which is expected to be larger than the standard-model equivalent. We discuss three …
In contrast to the folklore that Technicolor (TC) is a "Higgsless theory", we shall discuss existence of a composite Higgs boson, Techni-Dilaton (TD), a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of the scale invariance in the Scale-invariant/Walking/Conformal TC (SWC TC) which generates a large anomalous dimension $γ_m \simeq 1$ in a wide region from the dynamical mass $m$ $= {\cal O}$ (TeV) of the techni-fermion all the way up to the intrinsic scale $Λ_{\rm TC}$ of the SWC TC (analogue of $Λ_{\rm QCD}$), where $Λ_{\rm TC} $ is taken typically as the scale of the Extended TC scale $Λ_{\rm ETC}$: $Λ_{\rm TC…
We study very light dilaton, arising from a scale-invariant ultraviolet theory of the Higgs sector in the standard model of particle physics. Imposing the scale symmetry below the ultraviolet scale of the Higgs sector, we alleviate the fine-tuning problem associated with the Higgs mass. When the electroweak symmetry is spontaneously broken radiatively à la Coleman-Weinberg, the dilaton develops a vacuum expectation value away from the origin to give an extra contribution to the Higgs potential so that the Higgs mass becomes naturally around the electroweak scale. The ultraviolet scale of the H…
Walking technicolor predicts a light composite scalar, techni-dilaton, arising as a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson for the approximate scale symmetry spontaneously broken by techni-fermion condensation. We show that a light techni-dilaton with mass of around 125 GeV can explain presently observed excesses particularly in the di-photon decay channel at LHC.
We review and extend recent studies of dilaton effective field theory (dEFT) which provide a framework for the description of the Higgs boson as a composite structure. We first describe the dEFT as applied to lattice data for a class of gauge theories with near-conformal infrared behavior. It includes the dilaton associated with the spontaneous breaking of (approximate) scale invariance, and a set of pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons (pNGBs) associated with the spontaneous breaking of an (approximate) internal global symmetry. The theory contains two small symmetry-breaking parameters. We display …
We study the nature of the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) in models where the Higgs emerges as a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of an approximate global symmetry of a new strongly-interacting sector confining around the TeV scale. Our analysis focusses for the first time on the case where the EWPT is accompanied by the confinement phase transition of the strong sector. We describe the confinement in terms of the dilaton, the pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of spontaneously broken conformal invariance of the strong sector. The dilaton can either be a meson-like or a glueball-like state and we d…
Higgs boson may be a composite particle as Sakata vigorously looked for never-ending substructures of Nature. He proposed the Sakata model for hadrons, which was the prototype of the quark model and thus lauched the last Revolution in particle physics continued all the way up to Kabayashi-Maskawa work which completed the Standard Model today. Inspired by the Sakata's spirit we shall discuss composite Higgs boson in various models of our own for the dynamical symmetry breaking with large anomalous dimension: The techni-dilaton in the walking technicolor (WTC) with $γ_m \simeq 1$, the $\bar t t$…
We find a parametrically light dilaton in special confining theories in three dimensions. Their duals form what we call a scion of solutions to the supergravity associated with the large-N limit of the Coulomb branch of the N=4 Super-Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. The supergravity description contains one scalar with bulk mass that saturates the Breitenlohner-Freedman unitarity bound. The new solutions are defined within supergravity, they break supersymmetry and scale invariance, and one dimension is compactified on a shrinking circle, yet they are completely regular. An approximate dilaton appears…
We propose a scale invariant model of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking via top condensation within the minimal top condensate see-saw model. The classical scale invariance is realized nonlinearly by introducing conformal compensator scalar field, the dilaton, which plays crucial role in successful predictions for the Higgs boson. The dilaton mass and its mixing with the composite Higgs boson appears only at 2-loop level, both being proportional to the hierarchy between the electroweak and compositeness scales, $\propto v/Λ$. The mass scales in our model are generated via the mechanism o…
We make use of the language of non-linear realizations to analyze electro-weak symmetry breaking scenarios in which a light dilaton emerges from the breaking of a nearly conformal strong dynamics, and compare the phenomenology of the dilaton to that of the well motivated light composite Higgs scenario. We argue that -- in addition to departures in the decay/production rates into massless gauge bosons mediated by the conformal anomaly -- characterizing features of the light dilaton scenario (as well as other scenarios admitting a light CP-even scalar not directly related to the breaking of the …
We have calculated the composite (pseudo) scalar contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of muons in models of walking technicolor. By the axial or scale anomaly the light scalars such as techni-dilaton, techni-pions or techni-eta have anomalous couplings to two-photons, which make them natural candidates for the recent 750 GeV resonance excess, observed at LHC. Due to the anomalous couplings, their contributions to muon (g-2) are less suppressed and might explain the current deviation in muon (g-2) measurements from theory.
We propose a new dark matter candidate, {\it light decoupled techni-dilaton}, which arises from the almost scale-invariant/conformal (walking) technicolor. We investigate its characteristic nature and discuss several cosmological and astrophysical constraints. It turns out that techni-dilatons are extremely weakly interacting and produced dominantly by the non-thermal mechanism to be the main component of dark matter with mass range between around 0.01 eV and 500 eV for typical walking technicolor scenarios.
We present a completely perturbative model that displays behavior similar to that of walking technicolor. In one phase of the model RG-trajectories run towards an IR-fixed point but approximate scale invariance is spontaneously broken before reaching the fixed point. The trajectories then run away from it and a light dilaton appears in the spectrum. The mass of the dilaton is controlled by the "distance" of the theory to the critical surface, and can be adjusted to be arbitrarily small without turning off the interactions. There is a second phase with no spontaneous symmetry breaking and hence…
We analyze in detail the phenomenology of a model of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking inspired by walking technicolor, by using the techniques of the bottom-up approach to holography. The model admits a light composite scalar state, the dilaton, in the spectrum. We focus on regions of parameter space for which the mass of such dilaton is 125 GeV, and for which the bounds on the precision electroweak parameter S are satisfied. This requires that the next-to-lightest composite state is the techni-rho meson, with a mass larger than 2.3 TeV. We compute the couplings controlling the decay ra…
In this note, we study the coupling of the techni-dilaton to the weak bosons. We consider two cases: (1) The dilaton directly couples to the weak bosons similarly to the SM. (2) The coupling in question is effectively induced only through the techni-fermion loops. In both cases, we find that the coupling is essentially determined by the mass-squared of the weak bosons over the dilaton decay constant.
We propose an inflationary scenario based on a many-flavor hidden QCD with eight flavors, which realizes the almost scale-invariant (walking) gauge dynamics. The theory predicts two types of composite (pseudo) Nambu-Goldstone bosons, the pions and the lightest scalar (dilaton) associated with the spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking and its simultaneous violation of the approximate scale invariance. The dilaton acts as an inflaton, where the inflaton potential is induced by the nonperturbative-scale anomaly linked with the underlying theory. The inflaton potential parameters are highly constra…
We study a holographic model dual to walking/conformal technicolor (W/C TC) deforming a hard-wall type of bottom-up setup by including effects from techni-gluon condensation. We calculate masses of (techni-) $ρ$ meson, $a_1$ meson, and flavor/chiral-singlet scalar meson identified with techni-dilaton (TD)/conformal Higgs boson, as well as the $S$ parameter. It is shown that gluon contributions and large anomalous dimension tend to decrease specifically mass of the TD. In the typical model with $S \simeq 0.1$, we find $m_{\rm TD} \simeq 600$ GeV, while $m_ρ,m_{a_1} \simeq 4 {\rm TeV}$.
The frequently discussed strongly interacting gauge theory with a fermion flavor doublet in the two-index symmetric (sextet) representation of the SU(3) color gauge group is investigated \cite{Fodor:2012ty}. The chiral condensate and the mass spectrum are consistent with chiral symmetry breaking at vanishing fermion mass. In contrast, sextet fermion mass deformations of spectral properties are not consistent with leading conformal scaling behavior near the critical surface of a conformal theory. A recent paper \cite{DeGrand:2012yq} which could not resolve the conformal fixed point of the gauge…
Techni-dilaton, a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of scale symmetry, was predicted long ago in the Scale-invariant/Walking/Conformal Technicolor (SWC-TC) as a remnant of the (approximate) scale symmetry associated with the conformal fixed point, based on the conformal gauge dynamics of ladder Schwinger-Dyson (SD) equation with non-running coupling. We study the techni-dilaton as a flavor-singlet bound state of techni-fermions by including the techni-gluon condensate (tGC) effect into the previous (bottom-up) holographic approach to the SWC-TC, a deformation of the holographic QCD with $γ_m \simeq…
In PRD78(2008)055005 [arXiv:0805.1503 [hep-ph]] and PRD79(2009)075004 [arXiv:0809.1324 [hep-ph]], we constructed a holographic description of walking technicolour theories using both a hard- and a soft-wall model. Here, we show that the dilaton field becomes phenomenologically irrelevant for the spectrum of spin-one resonances once a term is included in the Lagrangian that mixes the Goldstone bosons and the longitudinal components of the axial vector mesons. We show how this mixing affects our previous results and we make predictions about how this description of technicolour can be tested.
We construct a model in which electro-weak symmetry breaking is induced by a strongly coupled sector, which is described in terms of a five-dimensional model in the spirit of the bottom-up approach to holography. We compute the precision electro-weak parameters, and identify regions of parameter space allowed by indirect tests. We compute the spectrum of scalar and vector resonances, which contains a set of parametrically light states that can be identified with the electroweak gauge bosons and a light dilaton. There is then a little desert, up to 2-3 TeV, where towers of resonances of the vec…
The Higgs boson mass may arise from a portal coupling to a singlet field $σ$ which has a very large VEV $f \gg m_\text{Higgs}$. This requires a sector of "ultra-weak" couplings $ζ_i$, where $ζ_i \lesssim m_\text{Higgs}^2 / f^2$. Ultra-weak couplings are technically naturally small due to a custodial shift symmetry of $σ$ in the $ζ_i \rightarrow 0$ limit. The singlet field $σ$ has properties similar to a pseudo-dilaton. We engineer explicit breaking of scale invariance in the ultra-weak sector via a Coleman-Weinberg potential, which requires hierarchies amongst the ultra-weak couplings.
We study strongly-coupled, approximately scale-invariant gauge theories, which develop a mass gap in the infrared. We argue that a large number of fermion flavours is most suitable to provide an ultraviolet completion for the composite Higgs scenario. The holographic approach allows to describe the qualitative features of the non-perturbative dynamics in the Veneziano limit. We introduce new bottom-up holographic models, which incorporate the backreaction of flavour on the geometry, and show that this can correlate the mass gap to the scale of flavour-symmetry breaking. We compute the mass spe…
We consider scenarios where strong conformal dynamics constitutes the ultraviolet completion of the physics that drives electroweak symmetry breaking. We show that in theories where the operator responsible for the breaking of conformal symmetry is close to marginal at the breaking scale, the dilaton mass can naturally lie below the scale of the strong dynamics. However, in general this condition is not satisfied in the scenarios of interest for electroweak symmetry breaking, and so the presence of a light dilaton in these theories is associated with mild tuning. We construct the effective the…
We present an overview of composite Higgs models in light of the discovery of the Higgs boson. The small value of the physical Higgs mass suggests that the Higgs quartic is likely loop generated, thus models with tree-level quartics will generically be more tuned. We classify the various models (including bona fide composite Higgs, little Higgs, holographic composite Higgs, twin Higgs and dilatonic Higgs) based on their predictions for the Higgs potential, review the basic ingredients of each of them, and quantify the amount of tuning needed, which is not negligible in any model. We explain th…
We consider the possibility that the new particle that has been observed at 125 GeV is not the Standard Model (SM) Higgs, but instead the dilaton associated with an approximate conformal symmetry that has been spontaneously broken. We focus on dilatons that arise from theories of technicolor, or from theories of the Higgs as a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson (pNGB), that involve strong conformal dynamics in the ultraviolet. In the pNGB case, we are considering a framework where the Higgs particle is significantly heavier than the dilaton and has therefore not yet been observed. In each of the tec…
We find that a holographic walking technicolor model has a limit ("conformal limit") where the techni-dilaton (TD) becomes an exactly massless Nambu-Goldstone boson of the scale symmetry with its nonzero finite decay constant F_phi /= 0, which naturally realizes a light TD, say at 125 GeV, near the limit. In such a light TD case, we find that F_phi is uniquely determined by the techni-pion decay constant F_pi independently of the holographic parameters: F_phi/F_pi ~= sqrt{2 N_TF}, with N_TF being the number of techni-fermions. We show that the holographic TD is consistent with a new boson at 1…
A new particle at around 125 GeV has been observed at the LHC, which we show could be identified with the techni-dilaton (TD) predicted in the walking technicolor and thus should be an evidence of walking technicolor. The TD is a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson for the approximate scale symmetry spontaneously broken by techni-fermion condensation, with its lightness being ensured by the approximate scale invariance of the walking technicolor. We test the goodness-of-fit of the TD signatures using the presently available LHC data set, and show that the 125 GeV TD is actually favored by the current…
The Gildener-Weinberg (GW) mechanism produces a Higgs boson $H$ that is a dilaton. That is, $H$ is both naturally light and naturally aligned. It also predicts additional singly-charged and neutral Higgs bosons all of whose masses are $< 500\,{\rm GeV}$ and, therefore, within reach of the LHC now. I argue that the GW Higgs is composite -- a bound state of fermions whose strong interactions are at some high, unknown scale $Λ_H > 1\,{\rm TeV}$. The lone harbingers of $H$ compositeness, ones that may be accessible at the next multi-TeV collider, are isovector vector $ρ_H$ and axial vector $a_H$ b…
We present a simplified holographic model of chiral symmetry breaking in gauge theory. The chiral condensate is represented by a single scalar field in AdS, with the gauge dynamics input through radial dependence of its mass, representing the running of the anomalous dimension of the qbar q operator. We discuss simple examples of the chiral transition out of the conformal window when the infrared value of the anomalous dimension, γ_m, is tuned to one (equivalently the AdS-scalar mass squared is tuned to the Breitenlohner-Freedman bound of -4). The output of the model are the masses of the $\ba…
Dynamic AdS/QCD is a modification of AdS/QCD that includes the running of the anomalous dimension of the q-bar q quark bilinear and in which the generation of the constituent quark mass plays the role of an IR wall. The model allows one to move away smoothly from the controlled spectrum of the N=2 super Yang-Mills theory of the D3/probe-D7 system to more QCD-like theories with chiral symmetry breaking. We investigate soft wall behaviour in the model that gives Regge trajectories with M_{n,s}^2 ~ n,s. To achieve these behaviours requires the quark's constituent mass to fall peculiarly sharply i…
Techni-dilaton (TD) is predicted in walking technicolor (WTC) arising as a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson associated with the approximate scale symmetry spontaneously broken by techni-fermion condensation. The TD mass is therefore smaller than those of other techni-hadrons on order of several TeVs, small enough to be within reach of the current LHC search. We present a new method to derive the TD couplings directly from the Ward-Takahashi identities, which enables us to explicitly calculate the quantities relevant to the TD LHC signatures. To set definite benchmarks, we take one-doublet and one-…
Mass-split composite Higgs models naturally accommodate the experimental observation of a light 125 GeV Higgs boson and predict a large scale separation to other heavier resonances. We explore the SU(3) gauge system with four light (massless) and six heavy (massive) flavors by performing numerical simulations. Since the underlying system with degenerate and massless ten flavors appears to be infrared conformal, this system inherits conformal hyperscaling and allows to study near-conformal dynamics. Carrying out nonperturbative lattice field theory simulations, we present the low-lying particle…
Techni-dilaton (TD) was proposed long ago in the technicolor (TC) near criticality/conformality. To reveal the critical behavior of TD, we explicitly compute the nonperturbative contributions to the scale anomaly $<θ^μ_μ>$ and to the techni-gluon condensate $<G_{μν}^2>$, which are generated by the dynamical mass m of the techni-fermions. Our computation is based on the (improved) ladder Schwinger-Dyson equation, with the gauge coupling $α$ replaced by the two-loop running one $α(μ)$ having the Caswell-Banks-Zaks IR fixed point $α_*$: $α(μ) \simeq α= α_*$ for the IR region $m < μ< Λ_{TC}$, wher…
We analyze the Callan-Symanzik equations when scale invariance at a nontrivial infrared (IR) fixed point $α^{}_{\mathrm{IR}}$ is realized in the Nambu-Goldstone (NG) mode. As a result, Green's functions at $α^{}_{\mathrm{IR}}$ do not scale in the same way as for the conventional Wigner-Weyl (WW) mode. This allows us to propose a new mechanism for dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking where the running coupling $α$ "crawls" towards (but does not pass) $α^{}_{\mathrm{IR}}$ in the exact IR limit. The NG mechanism at $α^{}_{\mathrm{IR}}$ implies the existence of a massless dilaton $σ$, which bec…
The appearance of a light composite $0^+$ scalar resonance in nearly conformal gauge-fermion theories motivates further study of the low energy structure of these theories. To this end, we present a nonperturbative lattice calculation of s-wave scattering of Goldstone bosons in the maximal-isospin channel in SU(3) gauge theory with $N_f=8$ light, degenerate flavors. The scattering phase shift is measured both for different values of the underlying fermion mass and for different values of the scattering momentum. We examine the effect of a light flavor-singlet scalar (reported in earlier studie…
A genuine dilaton $σ$ allows scales to exist even in the limit of exact conformal invariance. In gauge theories, these may occur at an infrared fixed point (IRFP) $α_{\text{IR}}$ through dimensional transmutation. These large scales at $α_{\text{IR}}$ can be separated from small scales produced by $θ^μ_μ$, the trace of the energy-momentum tensor. For quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the conformal limit can be combined with chiral $SU(3) \times SU(3)$ symmetry to produce chiral-scale perturbation theory $χ$PT$_σ$, with $f_0(500)$ as the dilaton. The technicolor (TC) analogue of this is crawling TC…
I review the dynamical symmetry breaking (DSB) approach to the Origin of Mass, which is traced back to the original (2008 Nobel prize) work of Nambu based on the BCS analogue of superconductor where mass of nucleon (then elementary particle) arises due to Cooper paring and pions are provided as massless Nambu-Goldstone (NG) bosons, being composite as in Fermi-Yang/Sakata model. In this talk I will focus on the modern version of DSB or composite Higgs models: Walking/Conformal Technicolor, Hidden Local Symmetry (HLS) or Moose, and Top Quark Condensate, with the their extra dimension versions cl…
In search for a composite Higgs boson (techni-dilaton) in the walking technicolor, we present our preliminary results on the first observation of a light flavor-singlet scalar in a candidate theory for the walking technicolor, the Nf=8 QCD, which was found in our previous paper to have spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking together with remnants of the conformality. Based on simulations with the HISQ-type action on several lattice sizes with various fermion masses, we find evidence of a flavor-singlet scalar meson with mass comparable to that of the Nambu-Goldstone pion in both the small fermio…
We consider the phenomenology of a composite technicolor model proposed recently by Georgi. Composite technicolor interactions produce four-quark operators in the low energy theory that contribute to flavor changing neutral current processes. While we expect operators of this type to be induced at the compositeness scale by the flavor-symmetry breaking effects of the preon mass matrices, the Georgi model also includes operators from higher scales that are not GIM-suppressed. Since these operators are potentially large, we study their impact on flavor changing neutral currents and CP violation …
The almost conformal dynamics of walking technicolor (TC) implies the existence of the approximate scale invariance, which breaks down spontaneously by the condensation of anti-techni and techni-fermions. According to the Goldstone theorem, a spinless, parity-even particle, called techni-dilaton (TD), then emerges at low energy. If TC exhibits an extreme walking, TD mass is parametrically much smaller than that of techni-fermions (around 1 TeV), while its decay constant is comparable to the cutoff scale of walking TC. We analyze the light, decoupled TD as a dark matter candidate and study cosm…
We consider the possibility of a light composite scalar boson arising from mass mixing between a relatively light and heavy scalar singlets in a see-saw mechanism expected to occur in two-scale Technicolor (TC) models. A light composite scalar boson can be generated when the TC theory features two technifermions species in different representations, $R_1$ and $R_2$, under a single technicolor gauge group, with characteristic scales $Λ_1$ and $Λ_2$. We determine the final composite scalar fields, $Φ_1$ and $Φ_2$, effective theory using the effective potential for composite operators approach. T…
