A new Higgs-like boson with mass around 126 GeV has recently been discovered at the LHC. The available data on this new particle is analyzed within the context of two-Higgs doublet models without tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents. Keeping the generic Yukawa structure of the Aligned Two-Higgs Doublet Model framework, we study the implications of the LHC data on the allowed scalar spectrum. We analyze both the CP-violating and CP-conserving cases, and a few particular limits with a reduced number of free parameters, such as the usual models based on discrete ${\cal Z}_2$ symmetries.
We study the two-Higgs-doublet model with type-II seesaw mechanism. In view of constraints from the Higgs data, we consider the aligned two-Higgs-doublet scheme and its effects on muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment, $a_μ$, including both one-loop and two-loop Barr-Zee type diagrams. Thanks to a sizable trilinear scalar coupling, the Barr-Zee type diagrams mediated by the Higgs triplet fields have a dominant effect on $a_μ$. In particular, unlike the usual two-Higgs-doublet models that require exotic Higgs bosons light in mass, the masses of the corresponding particles in the model are of ${…
Data from the Muon g-2 experiment and measurements of the fine structure constant suggest that the anomalous magnetic moments of the muon and electron are at odds with standard model expectations. We survey the ability of axion-like-particles, two-Higgs-doublet models and leptoquarks to explain the discrepancies. We find that accounting for other constraints, all scenarios except the Type-I, Type-II and Type-Y two-Higgs-doublet models fit the data well.
One of the most popular extensions of the Standard Model is the Two-Higgs-Doublet model (2HDM), in which a second Higgs doublet is added to the conventional Standard Model particle content. 2HDM's with a softly broken $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry avoid flavour-changing neutral Higgs currents at tree-level. They also comprise the Higgs sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Current Higgs observables put strong constraints on these models. We present global fits to these data and combine them with information from theoretical bounds, electroweak precision observables and the most import…
The discovery of a non-zero rate for a lepton flavor violating decay mode of the Higgs boson would definitely be an indication of New Physics. We review the prospects for such signal in Two Higgs Doublet Models, in particular for Higgs boson decays into $τμ$ final states. We will show that this scenario contains all the necessary ingredients to provide large flavor violating rates and still be compatible with the stringent limits from direct searches and low-energy flavor experiments.
We show that the rate for di-Higgs production at the LHC can be enhanced by a factor as large as 25 compared to the Standard Model value in the two Higgs doublet model while being consistent with the known properties of the observed Higgs boson $h$. There are correlated modifications in $t\overline{t}h$ and resonant $Zh$ production rates, which can serve as tests of this model. Our framework treats both Higgs doublets on equal footing, each with comparable Yukawa couplings to fermions. The Cheng-Sher ansatz for multi-Higgs doublet model is shown to be strongly disfavored by current experiments…
Higgs boson pair production is well known to probe the structure of the electroweak symmetry breaking sector. We illustrate using the gluon-fusion process $pp \to H \to h h \to (b\bar b) (b\bar b)$ in the framework of two-Higgs-doublet models and how the machine learning approach (three-stream convolutional neural network) can substantially improve the signal-background discrimination and thus improves the sensitivity coverage of the relevant parameter space. We show that such $gg \to hh \to b \bar b b\bar b$ process can further probe the currently allowed parameter space by HiggsSignals and H…

We investigate the new contributions to the parameters $g_L$ and $g_R$ of the $Z b \bar b$ vertex in a multi-Higgs-doublet model (MHDM). We emphasize that those contributions generally worsen the fit of those parameters to the experimental data. We propose a solution to this problem, wherein $g_R$ has the opposite sign from the one predicted by the Standard Model; this solution, though, necessitates light scalars and large Yukawa couplings in the MHDM.
In this paper, we propose a scheme for neutrino mass generation. A Higgs singlet is introduced in the Standard Model of particle physics (SM). All of this new singlet and the charged and neutral Higgs fields in the original Higgs doublet are assumed to have nonzero vacuum expectation values (VEVs). The normal hierarchy of neutrino masses is evidently preferred in our scheme. The neutrino masses are explicitly calculated.
With no conclusive signal till date of the minimal supersymmetric and extra dimensional models at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the issue of fine-tuning of the Higgs mass still calls for some attention. It could be very possible that the observed Higgs boson of mass 125 GeV has its origin in a non-supersymmetric extended scalar sector, and, it still has properties strikingly similar to the Standard Model Higgs. In such cases, however, one relies upon possible cancellations in the quadratic divergence of the Higgs mass to uphold naturalness. In this work, we have investigated this possibilit…
