We revisit two-color, two-flavor chiral perturbation theory at finite isospin and baryon density. We investigate the phase diagram obtained varying the isospin and the baryon chemical potentials, focusing on the phase transition occurring when the two chemical potentials are equal and exceed the pion mass (which is degenerate with the diquark mass). Enhancement of quark number susceptibility with an alternative pattern of chiral symmetry breaking in dense matter

We explore a possible phase where chiral $SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R$ symmetry is spontaneously broken while its center $Z_2$ symmetry remains unbroken and its consequence on thermal quantities. In this phase, chiral symmetry breaking is driven by a quartic quark condensate although a bilinear quark condensate vanishes. Chiral density wave versus pion condensation in the 1+1 dimensional NJL model

In this paper, we study the possibility of an inhomogeneous quark condensate in the 1+1 dimensional Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model in the large-$N_c$ limit at finite temperature $T$ and quark chemical potential $μ$ using dimensional regularization. The phase diagram in the $μ$--$T$ plane is mapped out. At zero temperature, an inhomogeneous phase with a chiral-density wave exists for all values of $μ>μ_c$. Chiral crystallization in an external magnetic background - Chiral spiral versus Real kink crystal -

We study how an external magnetic field modifies the chiral phase structure of QCD, in particular the phases characterized by inhomogeneous chiral condensates. The magnetic field can be systematically incorporated into a generalized Ginzburg-Landau framework, and it turns out to induce a model independent universal coupling between the magnetic field and the axial isospin current.
