Large-scale structure formation can be modeled as a nonlinear process that transfers energy from the largest scales to successively smaller scales until it is dissipated, in analogy with Kolmogorov's cascade model of incompressible turbulence. However, cosmic turbulence is very compressible, and vorticity plays a secondary role in it. The simplest model of cosmic turbulence is the adhesion model, which can be studied perturbatively or adapting to it Kolmogorov's non-perturbative approach to incompressible turbulence. This approach leads to observationally testable predictions, e.g., to the power-law exponent of the matter density two-point correlation function.

Tensor spectrum of turbulence-sourced gravitational waves as a constraint on graviton mass

We consider a generic dispersive massive gravity theory and numerically study its resulting modified energy and strain spectra of tensor gravitational waves (GWs) sourced by (i) fully developed turbulence during the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) and (ii) forced hydromagnetic turbulence during the QCD phase transition (QCDPT). Gravitational Waves produced by Compressible MHD Turbulence from Cosmological Phase Transitions

We calculate the gravitational wave spectrum produced by magneto-hydrodynamic turbulence in a first order phase transitions. We focus in particular on the role of decorrelation of incompressible (solenoidal) homogeneous isotropic turbulence, which is dominated by the sweeping effect. The sweeping effect describes that turbulent decorrelation is primarily due to the small scale eddies being swept with by large scale eddies in a stochastic manner. The stochastic gravitational wave background from turbulence and magnetic fields generated by a first-order phase transition

We analytically derive the spectrum of gravitational waves due to magneto-hydrodynamical turbulence generated by bubble collisions in a first-order phase transition. In contrast to previous studies, we take into account the fact that turbulence and magnetic fields act as sources of gravitational waves for many Hubble times after the phase transition is completed. Low frequency tail of gravitational wave spectra from hydromagnetic turbulence

Hydrodynamic and magnetohydrodynamic turbulence in the early Universe can drive gravitational waves (GWs) and imprint their spectrum onto that of GWs, which might still be observable today. Observed angular positions and redshifts of large-scale structure tracers such as galaxies are affected by gravitational waves through volume distortion and magnification effects. Numerical Simulations of Gravitational Waves from Early-Universe Turbulence

We perform direct numerical simulations of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence in the early universe and numerically compute the resulting stochastic background of gravitational waves and relic magnetic fields. Detectability of Gravitational Waves from the Coalescence of Massive Primordial Black Holes with Initial Clustering

We show that the effect of initial non-Gaussian clustering can significantly enhance the event rate for primordial black hole (PBH) coalescence. The impact of such clustering is studied in a specific scenario of multi-stream inflation. Initial clustering enables the possibility of detecting massive PBH coalescence by space-based gravitational wave interferometers such as LISA and DECIGO/BBO. The parameter regime for the ground-based detectors to detect PBH coalescence is also extended.

Stochastic gravitational wave background from hydrodynamic turbulence in differentially rotating neutron stars

Generation of gravitational waves from freely decaying turbulence

We study the stochastic gravitational wave background (SGWB) produced by freely decaying vortical turbulence in the early Universe.
