We give a simple characterization of the highest weight vertices in the crystal graph of the level l Fock spaces. This characterization is based on the notion of totally periodic symbols viewed as affine analogues of reverse lattice words classically used in the decomposition of tensor products of fundamental $\mathfrak{sl}_{n}$-modules. This yields a combinatorial decomposition of the Fock spaces in their irreducible components and the branching law for the restriction of the irreducible highest weight $\mathfrak{sl}_{\infty}$-modules to $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}_{e}}$.
We generalize in a combinatorial way the notion of the affine energy function of type $A$ to the case of a more general class of modules over a general linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ based on a Howe duality of type $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ on various Fock spaces.
The natural representation of the quantized affine algebra of type A can be defined via the deformed Fock space by Misra and Miwa. This relates the classes of Weyl modules for a type A quantum group at a root of unity to the action of the quantized affine algebra as the rank tends towards infinity. In this paper we investigate the situation outside of type A. In classical types, we construct embeddings of the Grothendieck group of finite dimensional modules for the corresponding quatum group at a root of unity into Fock spaces of different charges and define an action of an affine quantum symm…
In this paper we construct an "abstract Fock space" for general Lie types that serves as a generalisation of the infinite wedge $q$-Fock space familiar in type $A$. Specifically, for each positive integer $\ell$, we define a $\mathbb{Z}[q,q^{-1}]$-module $\mathcal{F}_{\ell}$ with bar involution by specifying generators and "straightening relations" adapted from those appearing in the Kashiwara-Miwa-Stern formulation of the $q$-Fock space. By relating $\mathcal{F}_{\ell}$ to the corresponding affine Hecke algebra we show that the abstract Fock space has standard and canonical bases for which th…
Based on the work of Ringel and Green, one can define the (Drinfeld) double Ringel--Hall algebra ${\mathscr D}(Q)$ of a quiver $Q$ as well as its highest weight modules. The main purpose of the present paper is to show that the basic representation $L(Λ_0)$ of ${\mathscr D}(Δ_n)$ of the cyclic quiver $Δ_n$ provides a realization of the $q$-deformed Fock space $\bigwedge^\infty$ defined by Hayashi. This is worked out by extending a construction of Varagnolo and Vasserot. By analysing the structure of nilpotent representations of $Δ_n$, we obtain a decomposition of the basic representation $L(Λ_…
We study a family of fermionic oscillator representations of the Virasoro algebra via 2-point-local Virasoro fields on the Fock space $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ of a neutral (real) fermion. We obtain the decomposition of $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ as a direct sum of irreducible highest weight Virasoro modules with central charge $c=1$. As a corollary we obtain the decomposition of the irreducible highest weight Virasoro modules with central charge $c=\frac{1}{2}$ into irreducible highest weight Virasoro modules with central charge $c=1$. As an application we show how positive s…
We relate the canonical basis of the Fock space representation of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_{n})$, as defined by Leclerc and Thibon, to the canonical basis of its restriction to $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_{n})$, regarded as a based module in the sense of Lusztig. More generally we consider the restriction to any parabolic subalgebra. We deduce results on decomposition numbers and branching coefficients of Schur algebras over fields of positive characteristic, generalising those of Kleshchev and of Tan and Teo.
We compare the canonical bases of level-$1$ quantised Fock spaces in affine types $A^{(1)}$ and $A^{(2)}$, showing how to derive the canonical basis in type $A^{(2)}_{2n}$ from the the canonical basis in type $A^{(1)}_n$ in certain weight spaces. In particular, we derive an explicit formula for the canonical basis in extremal weight spaces, which correspond to RoCK blocks of double covers of symmetric groups. In a forthcoming paper with Kleshchev and Morotti we will use this formula to find the decomposition numbers for RoCK blocks of double covers with abelian defect.
We present an extension of the trace of a vertex operator and explain a representation-theoretic interpretation of the trace. Specifically, we consider a twist of the vertex operator with infinitely many Casimir operators and compute its trace as a character formula. To do this, we define the Fock space of infinite level $\mathfrak{F}^{\infty}$. Then, we prove a duality between $\mathfrak{gl}_{\infty}$ and $\mathfrak{a}_{\infty}=\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_{\infty}$ of Howe type, which provides a decomposition of $\mathfrak{F}^{\infty}$ into irreducible representations with joint highest weight ve…
We make explicit a triple crystal structure on higher level Fock spaces, by investigating at the combinatorial level the actions of two affine quantum groups and of a Heisenberg algebra. To this end, we first determine a new indexation of the basis elements that makes the two quantum group crystals commute. Then, we define a so-called Heisenberg crystal, commuting with the other two. This gives new information about the representation theory of cyclotomic rational Cherednik algebras, relying on some recent results of Shan and Vasserot and of Losev. In particular, we give an explicit labelling …
For integers $e,\ell\geq 2$, the level $\ell$ Fock space has an $\mathfrak{sl}_\infty$-crystal structure arising from the action of a Heisenberg algebra, intertwining the $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_e}$-crystal. The vertices of these crystals are charged $\ell$-partitions. We give the combinatorial rule for computing the arrows anywhere in the $\mathfrak{sl}_\infty$-crystal. This allows us to pinpoint the location of any charged $\ell$-partition. As an application, we compute the support of the spherical representation of a cyclotomic rational Cherednik algebra, and in particular, the set of param…
We are interested in the structure of the crystal graph of level $l$ Fock spaces representations of $\mathcal{U}_q (\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_e})$. Since the work of Shan [26], we know that this graph encodes the modular branching rule for a corresponding cyclotomic rational Cherednik algebra. Besides, it appears to be closely related to the Harish-Chandra branching graph for the appropriate finite unitary group, according to [8]. In this paper, we make explicit a particular isomorphism between connected components of the crystal graphs of Fock spaces. This so-called "canonical" crystal isomorphi…
In this paper, we give a combinatorial rule to calculate the decomposition of the tensor product (Kronecker product) of two irreducible complex representations of the symmetric group ${\mathfrak S}_n$, when one of the representations corresponds to a hook $(n-m, 1^m)$.
Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic p>2. We compute the Weyl filtration multiplicities in indecomposable tilting modules and the decomposition numbers for the symplectic group over k in terms of cap-curl diagrams under the assumption that p is bigger than the greatest hook length in the largest partition involved. As a corollary we obtain the decomposition numbers for the Brauer algebra under the same assumptions. Our work combines ideas from work of Cox and De Visscher and work of Shalile with techniques from the representation theory of reductive groups.
In this paper we establish a Steinberg-Lusztig tensor product theorem for abstract Fock space. This is a generalization of the type A result of Leclerc-Thibon and a Grothendieck group version of the Steinberg-Lusztig tensor product theorem for representations of quantum groups at roots of unity. Although the statement can be phrased in terms of parabolic affine Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials and thus has geometric content, our proof is combinatorial, using the theory of crystals (Littelmann paths). We derive the Casselman-Shalika formula as a consequence of the Steinberg-Lusztig tensor product th…
Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic p>0. We compute the Weyl filtration multiplicities in indecomposable tilting modules and the decomposition numbers for the general linear group over k in terms of cap diagrams under the assumption that p is bigger than the greatest hook length in the partitions involved. Then we introduce and study the rational Schur functor from a category of GL_n-modules to the category of modules for the walled Brauer algebra. As a corollary we obtain the decomposition numbers for the walled Brauer algebra when p is bigger than the greatest hook lengt…
