We extend the event-chain Monte Carlo algorithm from hard-sphere interactions to the micro-canonical ensemble (constant potential energy) for general potentials. This event-driven Monte Carlo algorithm is non-local, rejection-free, and allows for the breaking of detailed balance. The algorithm uses a discretized potential, but its running speed is asymptotically independent of the discretization. We implement the algorithm for the cut-off linear potential, and discuss its possible implementation directly in the continuum limit.

In this thesis, the properties of mixtures of Bose-Einstein condensates at $T = 0$ have been investigated using quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) methods and Density Functional Theory (DFT) with the aim of understanding physics beyond the mean-field theory in Bose-Bose mixtures.
We implement Monte Carlo Renormalization Group (MCRG) in the continuous-time Monte Carlo simulation of a quantum system. We demonstrate numerically the emergent isotropy between space and time at large distances for the systems that exhibit Lorentz invariance at quantum criticality. This allows us to estimate accurately the sound velocity for these quantum systems. $Q$-state Potts models in one and two space dimensions are used to illustrate the method.
