Generic Pseudogroups on (C,0) and the Topology of Leaves

We show that generically a pseudogroup generated by holomorphic diffeomorphisms defined about $0 \in \mathbb{C}$ is free in the sense of pseudogroups even if the class of conjugacy of the generators is fixed. This result has a number of consequences on the topology of leaves for a (singular) holomorphic foliation defined on a neighborhood of an invariant curve. In particular in the classical and simplest case arising from local foliations possessing a unique separatrix that is given by a cusp of the form $\{y^2-x^{2k+1}=0\}$, our results allow us to settle the problem of showing that a generic foliation possesses only countably many non-simply connected leaves and that this countable set is, indeed, infinite.

Cyclic stabilizers and infinitely many hyperbolic orbits for pseudogroups on (C,0)

Consider a pseudogroup on (C,0) generated by two local diffeomorphisms having analytic conjugacy classes a priori fixed in Diff(C,0). We show that a generic pseudogroup as above is such that every point has (possibly trivial) cyclic stabilizer. It also follows that these generic groups possess infinitely many hyperbolic orbits. This result possesses several applications to the topology of leaves of foliations and we shall explicitly describe the case of nilpotent foliations associated to Arnold's singularities of type A^{2n+1}.

Generating positive geometric entropy from recurrent leaves

In this paper we introduce a new $C^r-$perturbation procedure, with respect to the $C^r$-Epstein topology, for $C^r$-foliations by surfaces. Generic Hölder foliations with smooth leaves

In this work, we consider a specific space of foliations with $C^1$ leaves and Hölder holonomies of the square $M=[0,1]^2$, with some topology and we show that a generic such foliation is non-absolutely continuous, furthermore, the conditional measures defined by Rokhlin disintegration are Dirac measures on the leaves. This space of foliations is motivated by the foliations that appear in hyperbolic systems and partially hyperbolic systems.

Topology of leaves for minimal laminations by non-simply connected hyperbolic surfaces

We give the topological obstructions to be a leaf in a minimal lamination by hyperbolic surfaces whose generic leaf is homeomorphic to a Cantor tree. Then, we show that all allowed topological types can be simultaneously embedded in the same lamination. This result, together with results of Alvarez-Brum-Martínez-Potrie and Blanc, complete the panorama of understanding which topological surfaces can be leaves in minimal hyperbolic surface laminations when the topology of the generic leaf is given. In all cases, all possible topologies can be realized simultaneously.

Topology of leaves for minimal laminations by hyperbolic surfaces

We construct minimal laminations by hyperbolic surfaces whose generic leaf is a disk and contain any prescribed family of surfaces and with a precise control of the topologies of the surfaces that appear. The laminations are constructed via towers of finite coverings of surfaces for which we need to develop a relative version of residual finiteness which may be of independent interest. Entropy along expanding foliations

The (measure-theoretical) entropy of a diffeomorphism along an expanding invariant foliation is the rate of complexity generated by the diffeomorphism along the leaves of the foliation. We prove that this number varies upper semi-continuously with the diffeomorphism ($\C^1$ topology), the invariant measure (weak* topology) and the foliation itself in a suitable sense. Codimension one foliations with Bott-Morse singularities II

We study codimension one foliations with singularities defined locally by Bott-Morse functions on closed oriented manifolds. In this article we study the topological structure of the lifts to the universal of the stable and unstable foliations of $3$-dimensional Anosov flows.
