In this paper, we will try to present a general formalism for the construction of {\it deformed photon-added nonlinear coherent states} (DPANCSs) $|α, f, m>$, which in special case lead to the well-known photon-added coherent state (PACS) $|α, m>$. Some algebraic structures of the introduced DPANCSs are studied and particularly the resolution of the identity, as the most important property of generalized coherent states, is investigated. Meanwhile, it will be demonstrated that, the introduced states can also be classified in the $f$-deformed coherent states, with a special nonlinearity function. Next, we will show that, these states can be produced through a simple theoretical scheme. A discussion on the DPANCSs with negative values of $m$, i.e., $|α, f, -m>$, is then presented. Our approach, has the potentiality to be used for the construction of a variety of new classes of DPANCSs, corresponding to any nonlinear oscillator with known nonlinearity function, as well as arbitrary solvable quantum system with known discrete, nondegenerate spectrum. Finally, after applying the formalism to a particular physical system known as Pöschl-Teller (P-T) potential and the nonlinear coherent states corresponding to a specific nonlinearity function $f(n)=\sqrt n$, some of the nonclassical properties such as Mandel parameter, second order correlation function, in addition to first and second-order squeezing of the corresponding states will be investigated, numerically.
A particle bounded in a potential with finite range is described by using an $f$-deformed quantum oscillator approach. Finite range of this potential can be considered as a controllable deformation parameter. The non-classical quantum statistical properties of this deformed oscillator can be manipulated by nonlinearities associated to the finite range.
k-Component q-deformed charge coherent states are constructed, their (over)completeness proved and their generation explored. The q-deformed charge coherent states and the even (odd) q-deformed charge coherent states are the two special cases of them as k becomes 1 and 2, respectively. A D-algebra realization of the SU$_q$(1,1) generators is given in terms of them. Their nonclassical properties are studied and it is shown that for $k\geq3$, they exhibit two-mode q-antibunching, but neither SU$_q$(1,1) squeezing, nor one- or two-mode q-squeezing.
Nonclassical properties of photon added and photon subtracted squeezed coherent states have been compared with specific focus on the higher order nonclassicalities, such as higher order squeezing, higher order sub-Poissonian photon statistics, higher order antibunching. It is observed that both photon added and photon subtracted squeezed coherent states are highly nonclassical as they satisfy criteria for all of the above mentioned nonclassicalities and a set of other criteria including negativity of Wigner function, Klyshko's criterion and Agarwal's $(A_{3})$ parameter. Further, the amount of…
Detecting nonclassical properties that do not allow classical interpretation of photoelectric counting events is one of the crucial themes in quantum optics. Observation of individual nonclassical effects for a single-mode field, however, has been so far practically confined to sub-Poissonian statistics and quadrature squeezing. We show that a photon-added classical (coherent or thermal) state exhibits generalized nonclassical features in all orders of creation and annihilation operators, thereby becoming a promising candidate for studying higher-order nonclassical effects. Our analysis demons…
We report the experimental reconstruction of a nonclassicality quasiprobability for a single-photon added thermal state. This quantity has significant negativities, which is necessary and sufficient for the nonclassicality of the quantum state. Our method presents several advantages compared to the reconstruction of the P function, since the nonclassicality filters used in this case can regularize the quasiprobabilities as well as their statistical uncertainties. A-priori assumptions about the quantum state are therefore not necessary. We also demonstrate that, in principle, our method is not …
Nonclassical properties of photon added and subtracted displaced Fock states have been studied using various witnesses of lower- and higher-order nonclassicality. Compact analytic expressions are obtained for the nonclassicality witnesses. Using those expressions, it is established that these states and the states that can be obtained as their limiting cases (except coherent states) are highly nonclassical as they show the existence of lower- and higher-order antibunching and sub-Poissonian photon statistics, in addition to the nonclassical features revealed through the Mandel $Q_M$ parameter,…
The effects of von Neumann postselected measurement on nonclassicality of single-photon-added coherent state (SPACS) are studied. Explicit expressions and analytical results for various field properties of SPACS such as the photon number distribution, the Mandel Q_{m} factor and the squeezing parameter of field quadrature after postselected von Neumann measurement are investigated. The results showed that the nonclassicality of SPACS after measurement changed dramatically than initial state. The measurement let SPACS possess more strong sub-Poissonian photon statistics in some definite couplin…
We explore the dynamics of two atoms interacting with a cavity field via deformed operators. Properties of the asymptotic regularization of entanglement measures proving, for example, purity cost, regularized fidelity and accuracy of information transfer are analyzed. We show that the robustness of a bipartite system having a finite number of quantum states vanishes at finite photon numbers, for arbitrary interactions between its constituents and with cavity field. Finally it is shown that the stability of the purity and the fidelity is improved in the absence of the deformation parameters.
Higher-order nonclassical properties of r photon added and t photon subtracted qudit states (referred to as rPAQS and tPSQS, respectively) are investigated here to answer: How addition and subtraction of photon can be used engineer higher-order nonclassical properties of qudit states? To obtain the answer higher-order moment of relevant bosonic field operators are first obtained for rPAQS and tPSQS, and subsequently the same is used to study the higher-order nonclassical properties of the corresponding states. A few witnesses of higher-order nonclassicality (e.g. Higher-Order Antibunching, Hig…
Theoretical analysis is given of nonclassicality and decoherence of the field states generated by adding any number of photons to the squeezed thermal state (STS). Based on the fact that the squeezed number state can be considered as a single-variable Hermite polynomial excited state, the compact expression of the normalization factor is derived, a Legendre polynomial. The nonclassicality is investigated by exploring the sub-Poissonian and negative Wigner function (WF). The results show that the WF of single photon-added STS (PASTS) always has negative values at the phase space center. The dec…
In this paper, we follow our presented model in J. Opt. Soc. Am. B {\bf 30}, 1109--1117 (2013), in which the interaction between a $Λ$-type three-level atom and a quantized two-mode radiation field in a cavity in the presence of nonlinearities is studied. After giving a brief review on the procedure of obtaining the state vector of the atom-field system, some further interesting and important physical features (which are of particular interest in the quantum optics field of research) of the whole system state, i.e., the number-phase entropic uncertainty relation (based on the two-mode Pegg-Bar…
We introduce a kind of entangled state---photon-addition two-mode squeezed thermal state (TMSTS) by adding photons to each mode of the TMSTS. Using the P-representation of thermal state, the compact expression of the normalization factor is derived, a Jacobi polynomial. The nonclassicality is investigated by exploring especially the negativity of Wigner function. The entanglement is discussed by using Shchukin-Vogel criteria. It is shown that the photon-addtion to the TMSTS may be more effective for the entanglement enhancement than the photon-subtraction from the TMSTS. In addition, the quant…
Non-Gaussian and nonclassical states and processes are already found to be important resources for performing various tasks related to quantum gravity and quantum information processing. The effect of non-Gaussianity inducing operators on the nonclassicality of quantum states has also been studied rigorously. Considering these facts, a quantitative analysis of the nonclassical and non-Gaussian features is performed here for photon added displaced Fock state, as a test case, using a set of measures like entanglement potential, Wigner Yanese skew information, Wigner logarithmic negativity and re…
We study the nonclassicality of photon-added squeezed vacuum (PASV) and its decoherence in thermal environment in terms of the sub-Poissonian statistics and the negativity of Wigner function (WF). By converting the PASV to a squeezed Hermite polynomial excitation state, we derive a compact expression for the normalization factor of m-PASV, which is an m-order Legendre polynomial of squeezing parameter r. We also derive the explicit expression of WF of m-PASV and find the negative region of WF in phase space. We show that there is an upper bound value of r for this state to exhibit sub-Poissoni…
Two-mode charge (pair) coherent states has been introduced previously by using $<η|$ representation. In the present paper we reobtain these states by a rather different method. Then, using the nonlinear coherent states approach and based on a simple manner by which the representation of two-mode charge coherent states is introduced, we generalize the bosonic creation and annihilation operators to the $f$-deformed ladder operators and construct a new class of $f$-deformed charge coherent states. Unlike the (linear) pair coherent states, our presented structure has the potentiality to generate a…
We study the nonclassicality of the evolution of a superposition of an arbitrary number of photon-added squeezed coherent Schrödinger cat states in a nonlinear Kerr medium. The nonlinearity of the medium gives rise to the periodicities of the quantities such as the Wehrl entropy $S_{Q}$ and the negativity $δ_{W}$ of the $W$-distribution, and a series of local minima of these quantities arise at the rational submultiples of the said period. At these local minima the evolving state coincides with the transient Yurke-Stoler type of photon-added squeezed kitten states, which, for the choice of the…
We report the experimental realization and tomographic analysis of novel quantum light states obtained by exciting a classical thermal field by a single photon. Such states, although completely incoherent, possess a tunable degree of quantumness which is here exploited to put to a stringent experimental test some of the criteria proposed for the proof and the measurement of state non-classicality. The quantum character of the states is also given in quantum information terms by evaluating the amount of entanglement that they can produce.
Non-Gaussianity inducing operations are studied in the recent past from different perspectives. Here, we study the role of photon addition, a non-Gaussianity inducing operation, in the enhancement of nonclassicality in a finite dimensional quantum state, namely hypergeometric state with the help of some quantifiers and measures of nonclassicality. We observed that measures to characterize the quality of single photon source and anticlassicality lead to the similar conclusion, i.e., to obtain the desired quantum features one has to choose all the state parameters such that average photon number…
We investigate the nonclassicality of photon-added coherent states in the photon loss channel by exploring the entanglement potential and negative Wigner distribution. The total negative probability defined by the absolute value of the integral of the Wigner function over the negative distribution region reduces with the increase of decay time. The total negative probability and the entanglement potential of pure photon-added coherent states exhibit the similar dependence on the beam intensity. The reduce of the total negative probability is consistent with the behavior of entanglement potenti…
The concept of photon added two-mode Schrödinger cat states in which both modes are independent is introduced, their non-classical properties and entanglement are studied. The introduced states emerge as the eigenstates of $f_1f_2a_1a_2$, where $f_1, f_2$ are nonlinear functions of the number operator and $a_1, a_2$ are annihilation operators. We study the evolution of these states under the canonical transformation using the parity operator for the case of standard coherent states of the harmonic oscillator. The non-classical properties of these states are evaluated especially by considering …
We show that a continuous range of nonclassical states of light can be generated using conditional measurements on the idler mode of an optical parametric amplifier. The output state is prepared by introducing a coherent state in the signal mode of the amplifier with a single photon in the idler mode, followed by a conditional measurement of a single photon in the output idler mode. By varying the gain of the amplifier, this approach can produce a coherent state, a photon-added state, a displaced number state, or a continuous range of other nonclassical states with intermediate properties. We …
We study several classical like properties of q-deformed nonlinear coherent states as well as nonclassical behaviours of q-deformed version of the Schrodinger cat states in noncommutative space. Coherent states in q-deformed space are found to be minimum uncertainty states together with the squeezed photon distributions unlike the ordinary systems, where the photon distributions are always Poissonian. Several advantages of utilising cat states in noncommutative space over the standard quantum mechanical spaces have been reported here. For instance, the q-deformed parameter has been utilised to…
Even and odd q-deformed charge coherent states are constructed, their (over)completeness proved and their generation explored. A $D$-algebra realization of the SU$_q$(1,1) generators is given in terms of them. They are shown to exhibit SU$_q$(1,1) squeezing and two-mode $q$-antibunching, but neither one-mode, nor two-mode $q$-squeezing.
A quantum state is nonclassical if its Glauber-Sudarshan P function fails to be interpreted as a probability density. This quantity is often highly singular, so that its reconstruction is a demanding task. Here we present the experimental determination of a well-behaved P function showing negativities for a single-photon-added thermal state. This is a direct visualization of the original definition of nonclassicality. The method can be useful under conditions for which many other signatures of nonclassicality would not persist.
The nonclassicality of photon-added coherent fields in the thermal channel is investigated by exploring the volume of the negative part of the Wigner function which reduces with the dissipative time. The Wigner functions become positive when the decay time exceeds a threshold value. For the case of the single photon-added coherent state, we derive the exact threshold values of decay time in the thermal channel. For arbitrary partial negative Wigner distribution function, a generic analytical relation between the mean photon number of heat bath and the threshold value of decay time is presented…
We construct nonlinear coherent states or f-deformed coherent states for a nonpolynomial nonlinear oscillator which can be considered as placed in the middle between the harmonic oscillator and the isotonic oscillator (Cariñena J F et al, J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 41, 085301 (2008)). The deformed annihilation and creation operators which are required to construct the nonlinear coherent states in the number basis are obtained from the solution of the Schrödinger equation. Using these operators, we construct generalized intelligent states, nonlinear coherent states, Gazeau-Klauder coherent states…
A class of states of the electromagnetic field involving superpositions of all the excited states above a specified low energy eigenstate of the electromagnetic field is introduced. These states and the photon-added coherent states are shown to be the limiting cases of a generalized photon-added coherent states. This new class of states is nonclassical, non-Gaussian and has equal uncertainties in the field quadratures. For suitable choices of parameters, these uncertainties are very close to those of the coherent states. Nevertheless, these states exhibit sub-Poissonian photon number distribut…
The main focus of this thesis is to study the nonclassical and phase properties of a family of engineered quantum states, most of which show various nonclassical features. The beauty of these states is that these states can be used to establish quantum supremacy. Earlier, a considerable amount of works has been reported on various types of quantum states and their nonclassical properties. Here, complementing the earlier works, the effect of non-Gaussianity inducing operators on the nonclassical and phase properties of displaced Fock states have been studied. This thesis includes 6 chapters. In…
We construct Deformed Photon Added Nonlinear Coherent States (DPANCSs) by application of the deformed creation operator upon the Nonlinear Coherent States obtained as eigenstates of the deformed annihilation operator and by application of a deformed displacement operator upon the vacuum state. We evaluate some statistical properties like the Mandel parameter, Husimi and Wigner functions for these states and analyze their differences, we give closed analytical expressions for them. We found a profound difference in the statistical properties of the DPANCSs obtained from the two above mentioned …
Based on the definition of coherent states for continuous spectra and analogous to photon added coherent states for discrete spectra, we introduce the excited coherent states for continuous spectra. It is shown that, the main axioms of Gazeau-Klauder coherent states will be satisfied, properly. Nonclassical properties and quantum statistics of coherent states, as well as the introduced excited coherent states are discussed. In particular, through the study of quadrature squeezing and amplitude squared squeezing, it will be observed that both classes of the above states can be classified in the…
The nonclassicality of single photon-added thermal states in the thermal channel is investigated by exploring the volume of the negative part of the Wigner function. The Wigner functions become positive when the decay time exceeds a threshold value $γ{t}_c$, which only depends on the effective temperature or mean thermal photon number of the thermal channel, but not depends on the effective temperature of the initial thermal state. This phenomenon is similar with the case of single quantum excitation of classical coherent states in thermal channel. Furthermore, we firstly demonstrate $γ{t}_c$ …
We construct a generalized version of the photon-subtracted squeezed vacuum states (PSSVS), which can be utilized to construct the same for nonlinear, deformed and any usual quantum mechanical models beyond the harmonic oscillator. We apply our general framework to trigonometric Pöschl-Teller potential and show that our method works accurately and produces a proper nonclassical state. We analyze the nonclassicality of the state using three different approaches, namely, quadrature squeezing, photon number squeezing and Wigner function and indicate how the standard definitions of those three tec…
Using the {\it nonlinear coherent states method}, a formalism for the construction of the coherent states associated to {\it "inverse bosonic operators"} and their dual family has been proposed. Generalizing the approach, the "inverse of $f$-deformed ladder operators" corresponding to the nonlinear coherent states in the context of quantum optics and the associated coherent states have been introduced. Finally, after applying the proposal to a few known physical systems, particular nonclassical features as sub-Poissonian statistics and the squeezing of the quadratures of the radiation field co…
In this paper, we will present a general formalism for constructing the nonlinear charge coherent states which in special case lead to the standard charge coher- ent states. The suQ(1;1) algebra as a nonlinear deformed algebra realization of the introduced states is established. In addition, the corresponding even and odd nonlinear charge coherent states have been also introduced. The formalism has the potentiality to be applied to systems either with known "nonlinearity function" f(n) or solvable quantum system with known "discrete non-degenerate spectrum" en. As some physical appearances, a …
In this paper, we construct the $m$-photon-added and $m$-photon-subtracted coherent states on a sphere. These states are shown to satisfy the usual conditions of continuity in the label, normalizability and the resolution of identity. The preparation of the constructed states, as the states of radiation field is considered. We examine and analyze the nonclassical properties of these states, including the photon mean number, Mandel parameter and quadrature squeezing. We find that these states are sub-Poissonian in nature, whereas the degree of squeezing is reduced (enhanced) by increasing $m$ f…
Recently, nonlinear displaced number states (NDNSs) have been \emph{manually} introduced, in which the deformation function $f(n)$ has been artificially added to the well-known displaced number states (DNSs). In this paper, after expressing enough physical motivation of our procedure, four distinct classes of NDNSs are presented by applying algebraic and group treatments. To achieve this purpose, by considering the DNSs and recalling the nonlinear coherent states formalism, the NDNSs are logically defined through an algebraic consideration. In addition, by using a particular class of Gilmore-P…
In this paper we investigate the security of continuous variable BB84 quantum key distribution protocol using single photon added then subtracted squeezed coherent state SPASSCS. It's found that the SPASSCS is a non-Gaussian and nonclassical state. Its non-Gaussianity and non-classicality are exhibited via the Wigner function. It's shown that the proposed state is generally robust against the eavesdropping strategies, such as intercept-resend attack and superior channel attack. Further, a comparative study has proved the strong efficiency of the proposed state over coherent state, squeezed coh…
In this paper, ordinary and amplitude-squared squeezing as well as Wigner functions of single-photon-added coherent state after postselected von Neumann measurements are investigated. The analytical results show that the von Neumann type measurement which is characterized by post-selection and weak value can significantly change the squeezing feature of single-photon-added coherent state. It is also found that the postselected measurement can increase the nonclassicality of the original state in strong measurement regimes. It is anticipated that this work could may provide an alternate and eff…
We construct the photon added coherent states of a noncommutative harmonic oscillator associated to a $q$-deformed oscillator algebra. Various nonclassical properties of the corresponding system are explored, first, by studying two different types of higher order quadrature squeezing, namely the Hillery-type and the Hong--Mandel-type and, second, by testing the sub-Poissonian nature of photon statistics in higher order with the help of the correlation function and the Mandel parameter. By comparing our results with those of the usual harmonic oscillator, we notice that the quadratures and phot…
Based on heralded interference on a six-port Mach-Zehnder interferometer, we propose protocols to generate a series of multiphoton states in primary output port, by injecting a coherent state in primary input port and two Fock states in two ancillary input ports, and measuring two Fock states in two ancillary output ports. Only manipulating at the single-photon level (i.e, |0> or |1>) in all ancillary ports, we generate sixteen types (six categories) of multiphoton nonclassical states, whose state vectors are unified as superposition of a new coherent state, a single-photon added coherent stat…
The addition of a photon into the same mode as a coherent state produces a nonclassical state that has interesting features, including quadrature squeezing and a sub-Poissonian photon-number distribution. The squeezed nature of photon-added coherent (PAC) states potentially offers an advantage in quantum sensing applications. Previous theoretical works have employed a single-mode treatment of PAC states. Here, we use a continuous-mode approach that allows us to model PAC state pulses. We study the properties of a single-photon and coherent state wavepacket superimposed with variable temporal a…
The effect of two quantum state engineering processes that can be used to burn hole at vacuum in the photon number distribution of quantum states of radiation field are compared using various witnesses of lower- and higher-order nonclassicality as well as a measure of nonclassicality. Specifically, the witnesses of nonclassical properties due to the effect of vacuum state filtration and a single photon addition on an even coherent state, binomial state and Kerr state are investigated using the criteria of lower- and higher-order antibunching, squeezing and sub-Poissonian photon statistics. Fur…
Adding excitations on a coherent state provides an effective way to observe nonclassical properties of radiation fields. Here we describe and analyse how to apply this concept to the motional state of a mechanical oscillator and present a full scheme to prepare non-Gaussian {\it phonon}-added coherent states of the mechanical motion in cavity optomechanics. We first generate a mechanical coherent state using electromagnetically induced transparency. We then add a single phonon onto the coherent state via optomechanical parametric down-conversion combined with single photon detection. We valida…
