Based on uvbybeta photometry we study the structure of several Galactic star-forming fields. Lac OB1 is a compact association at 520+/-20 pc spatially correlated with a region of intense HII emission in Sh2-126. Loden 112 is a compact OB group at 1630+/-82 pc, probably connected to an extended feature of OB stars located toward the Carina tangent. The field toward Car OB1 is complex and likely contains apparent concentrations representing parts of long segments of the Carina arm projected along the line of sight. Within the classical Mon OB2 association we separate a relatively compact group at 1.26 kpc, that is spatially correlated to the Monoceros Loop SN remnant.
The distribution of young open clusters in the Galactic plane within 3 kpc from the Sun suggests the existence of the outer ring R1R2' in the Galaxy. The optimum value of the solar position angle with respect to the major axis of the bar, theta_b, providing the best agreement between the distribution of open clusters and model particles is theta_b=35 +/- 10 degrees. The kinematical features obtained for young open clusters and OB-associations with negative Galactocentric radial velocity VR indicate the solar location near the descending segment of the outer ring R2.
Galactic Wolf-Rayet (WR) star membership of star forming regions can be used to constrain the formation environments of massive stars. Here, we utilise $\textit{Gaia}$ DR2 parallaxes and proper motions to reconsider WR star membership of clusters and associations in the Galactic disk, supplemented by recent near-IR studies of young massive clusters. We find that only 18$-$36% of 553 WR stars external to the Galactic Centre region are located in clusters, OB associations or obscured star-forming regions, such that at least 64% of the known disk WR population are isolated, in contrast with only …
We have obtained new estimates of the Sun's distance from the symmetry plane Zo and the vertical disk scale height h using currently available data on stellar OB associations, Wolf-Rayet stars, HII regions, and Cepheids. Based on individual determinations, we have calculated the mean Zo=-16+/-2 pc. Based on the model of a self-gravitating isothermal disk for the density distribution, we have found the following vertical disk scale heights: h = 40.2+/-2.1 pc from OB associations, h = 47.8+/-3.9 pc from Wolf-Rayet stars, h=48.4+/-2.5 pc from HII regions, and h = 66.2+/-1.6 pc from Cepheids. We h…

Stars born at the same time in the same place should have formed from gas of the same element composition. But most stars subsequently disperse from their birth siblings, in orbit and orbital phase, becoming 'field stars'. Here we explore and provide direct observational evidence for this process in the Milky Way disc, by quantifying the probability that orbit-similarity among stars implies indistinguishable metallicity. We define the orbit similarity among stars through their distance in action-angle space, $Δ(J,θ)$, and their abundance similarity simply by $Δ$[Fe/H]. Analyzing a sample of ma…
The kinematic properties of the Scorpius-Centaurus association were studied using spatial velocities of approximately 700 young T Tauri stars. Their proper motions and trigonometric parallaxes were selected by Zari et al. from the Gaia DR2 catalog, and radial velocities were taken from various sources. The linear expansion coefficients new estimate of the association $K=39\pm2$ km/s/kpc is obtained by considering the influence of the galactic spiral density wave with an amplitude of radial disturbances $f_R=5$ km/s and solar phase in the wave $-120^\circ$. The proper rotation of the associatio…
Double-peaked narrow emission lines in active galactic nucleus (AGN) spectra can be produced by AGN outflows, rotation, or dual AGNs, which are AGN pairs in ongoing galaxy mergers. Consequently, double-peaked narrow AGN emission lines are useful tracers of the coevolution of galaxies and their supermassive black holes, as driven by AGN feedback and AGN fueling. We investigate this concept further with follow-up optical longslit observations of a sample of 95 Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) galaxies that have double-peaked narrow AGN emission lines. Based on a kinematic analysis of the longslit…

It is widely accepted that stars do not form in isolation but result from the fragmentation of molecular clouds, which in turn leads to star cluster formation. Over time, clusters dissolve or are destroyed by interactions with molecular clouds or tidal stripping, and their members become part of the general field population. Star clusters are thus among the basic building blocks of galaxies. In turn, star cluster populations, from young associations and open clusters to old globulars, are powerful tracers of the formation, assembly, and evolutionary history of their parent galaxies. Although t…
We investigate a sample of 40 local, main-sequence, edge-on disc galaxies using integral field spectroscopy with the Sydney-AAO Multi-object Integral field spectrograph (SAMI) Galaxy Survey to understand the link between properties of the extraplanar gas and their host galaxies. The kinematics properties of the extraplanar gas, including velocity asymmetries and increased dispersion, are used to differentiate galaxies hosting large-scale galactic winds from those dominated by the extended diffuse ionized gas. We find rather that a spectrum of diffuse gas-dominated to wind dominated galaxies ex…
The interstellar medium has a highly filamentary and hierarchical structure, which may play a significant role in star formation. A systematical study on the large-scale filaments towards their physical parameters, distribution, structures and kinematics will inform us of what kind of filaments have potential to form stars, how the material feed protostars through filaments, and the connection between star formation and Galactic spiral arms. Unlike the traditional "by eyes" searches, we use a customized minimum spanning tree algorithm to identify filaments by linking Galactic clumps from the A…
Chemical tagging of stellar debris from disrupted open clusters and associations underpins the science cases for next-generation multi-object spectroscopic surveys. As part of the Galactic Archaeology project TraCD (Tracking Cluster Debris), a preliminary attempt at reconstructing the birth clouds of now phase-mixed thin disk debris is undertaken using a parametric minimum spanning tree (MST) approach. Empirically-motivated chemical abundance pattern uncertainties (for a 10-dimensional chemistry-space) are applied to NBODY6-realised stellar associations dissolved into a background sea of field…
Recently, an increasing number of wide binaries has been discovered. Their chemical and dynamical properties are studied through extensive surveys and pointed observations. However, the formation of these wide binaries is far from clear, although several scenarios have been suggested. In order to investigate the chemical compositions of these systems, we analysed high-resolution spectroscopy of three wide binary pairs belonging to the Galactic halo. In total, another three candidates from our original sample of 11 candidates observed at various resolutions with various instruments were refuted…
Recent MeerKAT radio continuum observations of the Galactic center at 20 cm show a large population of nonthermal radio filaments (NRFs) in the inner few hundred pc of the Galaxy. We have selected a sample of 57 radios ources, mainly compact objects, in the MeerKAT mosaic image that appear to be associated with NRFs. The selected sources are about 4 times the number of radio point sources associated with filaments than would be expected by random chance. Furthermore, an apparent correlation between bright IR stars and NRFs is inferred from their similar latitude distributions, suggesting that …
We present a catalog of Galactic star clusters, associations and candidates with 10978 entries. This multi-band catalog was constructed over 20 years, starting with visual inspections on the Digital Sky Survey and incremented with the 2MASS, WISE, VVV, Spitzer and Herschel surveys. Large and small catalogs, as well as papers on individual objects have been systematically cross-identified. The catalog provides Galactic and equatorial coordinates, angular diameters, and chronologically ordered designations, making it simple to assign discoveries, and verify how often the objects were cataloged b…
The Arcminute Microkelvin Imager Galactic Plane Survey (AMIGPS) provides mJy-sensitivity, arcminute-resolution interferometric images of the northern Galactic plane at $\approx$ 16 GHz. The first data release covered $76^{\circ} \lessapprox \ell \lessapprox 170^{\circ}$ between latitudes of $|b| \lessapprox 5^{\circ}$; here we present a second data release, extending the coverage to $53^{\circ} \lessapprox \ell \lessapprox 193^{\circ}$ and including high-latitude extensions to cover the Taurus and California giant molecular cloud regions, and the recently discovered large supernova remnant G15…
Precision measurements of the stars in short-period orbits around the supermassive black hole at the Galactic Center are now being used to constrain general relativistic effects, such as the gravitational redshift and periapse precession. One of the largest systematic uncertainties in the measured orbits has been errors in the astrometric reference frame, which is derived from seven infrared-bright stars associated with SiO masers that have extremely accurate radio positions, measured in the Sgr A*-rest frame. We have improved the astrometric reference frame within 14'' of the Galactic Center …
We use stellar proper motions from the TGAS catalog to study the kinematics of OB-associations. The TGAS proper motions of OB-associations generally agree well with the Hipparcos proper motions. The parameters of the Galactic rotation curve obtained with TGAS and Hipparcos proper motions agree within the errors. The average one-dimensional velocity dispersion inside 18 OB-associations with more than 10 TGAS stars is sigma_v=3.9 km s-1, which is considerably smaller, by a factor of 0.4, than the velocity dispersions derived from Hipparcos data. The effective contribution from orbital motions of…
We have explored the role environmental factors play in determining characteristics of young stellar objects in nearby dwarf irregular and Blue Compact Dwarf galaxies. Star clusters are characterized by concentrations, masses, and formation rates, OB associations by mass and mass surface density, O stars by their numbers and near-ultraviolet absolute magnitudes, and HII regions by Halpha surface brightnesses. These characteristics are compared to surrounding galactic pressure, stellar mass density, HI surface density, and star formation rate surface density. We find no trend of cluster charact…
Accurate distances to supernova remnants (SNRs) are crucial in determining their size, age, luminosity and evolutionary state. To determine distances, we chose three SNRs from the VLA Galactic Plane Survey (VGPS) for extraction of HI absorption spectra. Analysing HI absorption spectra, $^{13}$CO emission spectra, and HI and $^{13}$CO channel maps, kinematic velocities (or their limits) to the three SNRs were calculated. The three SNRs are probably associated with molecular clouds and the new distance to G$20.4+0.1$, G$24.7-0.6$ and G$28.6-0.1$ are $7.8 \pm0.5$ kpc, $3.8\pm 0.2 $ kpc and $ 9.6 …

介绍了银河系巨分子复合体G23.3-0.3方向大质量恒星光谱测量的概述(Messineo et al. 2010,and 2014 A&A submitted)。
Open clusters and associations are groups of young stars, respectively bound and unbound, that share the same origin and disperse over time into the galactic field. As such, their formation and evolution are the key to understand the origin and properties of galactic stellar populations. Moreover, since their members have about the same age, they are ideal laboratories to study the properties of young stars and constrain stellar evolution theories. In this contribution, I present our current knowledge on open clusters and associations. I focus on the methods used to derive the statistical prop…
We study the stellar kinematic properties and spatial distribution of the association Cyg OB3 using precise astrometric data from Gaia DR2. All known O- and B-type stars in Cyg OB3 region with positions, parallaxes and proper motions available are included, comprising a total of 41 stars. The majority of stars are found to be concentrated at a heliocentric distance of 2.0 +/- 0.3 kpc. The mean peculiar velocity of the sample after removing Galactic rotation and solar motion is ~22 km/s, dominated by the velocity component towards the Galactic center. The relative position and velocity of the b…
The Galactic All-Sky Survey is a survey of Galactic atomic hydrogen emission in the southern sky observed with the Parkes 64-m Radio Telescope. The first data release (GASS I) concerned survey goals and observing techniques, the second release (GASS II) focused on stray radiation and instrumental corrections. We seek to remove the remaining instrumental effects and present a third data release. We use the HEALPix tessellation concept to grid the data on the sphere. Individual telescope records are compared with averages on the nearest grid position for significant deviations. All averages are …
We present improved relative astrometry for stars within the central half parsec of our Galactic Center based on data obtained with the 10 m W. M. Keck Observatory from 1995 to 2017. The new methods used to improve the astrometric precision and accuracy include correcting for local astrometric distortions, applying a magnitude dependent additive error, and more carefully removing instances of stellar confusion. Additionally, we adopt jackknife methods to calculate velocity and acceleration uncertainties. The resulting median proper motion uncertainty is 0.05 mas/yr for our complete sample of 1…
Young field stars are hardly distinguishable from older ones because their space motion rapidly mixes them with the stellar population of the Galactic plane. Nevertheless, a careful target selection allows for young stars to be spotted throughout the sky. We aim to identify additional sources associated with the four young comoving stars that we discovered towards the CO Cepheus void and to provide a comprehensive view of the Cepheus association. Based on multivariate analysis methods, we have built an extended sample of 193 young star candidates, which are the optical and infrared counterpart…
We present the results of an all-sky radio survey between 5 and 9 GHz of the fields surrounding all unassociated gamma-ray objects listed in the Fermi Large Area Telescope Second Source Catalog (2FGL). The goal of these observations is to find all new gamma-ray AGN associations with radio sources >10 mJy at 8 GHz. We observed with the Very Large Array and the Australia Telescope Compact Array the areas around unassociated sources, providing localizations of weak radio point sources found in 2FGL fields at arcmin scales. Then we followed-up a subset of those with the Very Long Baseline and the …
