We address electromagnetic properties of quasi-stable baryons in the context of chiral extrapolations of lattice QCD results. For particles near their decay threshold we show that the application of a small external magnetic field changes the particle's energy in a non-analytic way. Conventional electromagnetic moments are only well-defined when the background field B satisfies |eB|/(2M_*|M_*-M-m|) where M_* is the mass of the resonance and M, m the masses of the decay products. An application of this situation is the chiral extrapolation of Delta(1232)-isobar electromagnetic properties. We discuss such an extrapolation of the Delta(1232)-isobar magnetic dipole, electric quadrupole and magnetic octupole moments by a covariant chiral effective field theory.
We study the electromagnetic form factors of the lowest-lying singly heavy baryons with spin 1/2 within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model, focusing on the comparison with recent lattice data. To compare the present results quantitatively with the lattice data, it is essential to treat the pion mass as a variable parameter, i.e., to employ the unphysical values of the pion mass, which are used in lattice calculations. While the results with the physical value of the pion mass fall off faster than those from the lattice calculations as the momentum transfer increases, the extrapola…
We investigate the electromagnetic transition form factors of the baryon decuplet to the baryon octet, based on the self-consistent SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model, taking into account the effects of explicit breaking of flavor SU(3) symmetry. We emphasize the $Q^2$ dependence of the electromagnetic $N\to Δ$ transition form factors and the ratios of $E2/M1$ and $C2/M1$ in comparison with the experimental and empirical data. In order to compare the present results of the electromagnetic transition form factors of the $N\to Δ$ with those from lattice QCD, we evaluate the form factors with the p…
We have systematically investigated the magnetic moments and magnetic form factors of the decuplet baryons to the next-to-next-leading order in the framework of the heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory. Our calculation includes the contributions from both the intermediate decuplet and octet baryon states in the loops. We also calculate the charge and magnetic dipole form factors of the decuplet baryons. Our results may be useful to the chiral extrapolation of the lattice simulations of the decuplet electromagnetic properties.
The electromagnetic structure of the baryons is modified in the nuclear medium. The modifications can be inferred from the comparison between the electromagnetic form factors in medium with the respective form factor in vacuum. Of particular interest is the ratio between the electric and magnetic form factors in medium ($G_E^*/G_M^*$) and vacuum ($G_E/G_M$) of the octet baryon. The deviation of the double ratios ($G_E^*/G_M^*)/(G_E/G_M)$ from unity measures the impact of the medium modification of the electromagnetic structure in a nuclear medium. Measurements of the double ratios $(G_E^*/G_M^…
We investigate the effects of the kaon cloud on the electromagnetic and axial-vector form factors of the $Ω^-$ baryon within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model. We first derive the profile function of the chiral soliton in such a way that the kaon Yukawa tail is properly produced self-consistently. Then, we compute the electromagnetic form factors of the $Ω^-$ baryon. The results for the electromagnetic form factors are compared with the lattice data. We find that the results with the kaon tail employed are in better agreement with the lattice data, compared with those obtained wi…
We investigate the electromagnetic transitions of the singly charmed baryons with spin 3/2, based on a pion mean-field approach, also known as the chiral quark-soliton model, taking into account the rotational $1/N_c$ corrections and the effects of flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking. We examine the valence- and sea-quark contributions to the electromagnetic transition form factors and find that the quadrupole form factors of the sea-quark contributions dominate over those of the valence-quark ones in the smaller $Q^2$ region, whereas the sea quarks only provide marginal contributions to the magnet…
In this preprint we present our results on the study of the electromagnetic conductivity in dense quark-gluon plasma obtained within lattice simulations with $N_f = 2 + 1$ dynamical quarks. We employ stout improved rooted staggered quarks at the physical point and the tree-level Symanzik improved gauge action. The simulations are performed at imaginary baryon chemical potential, and the Tikhonov regularisation method is used to extract the conductivity from current-current correlators. Our results indicate an increase of QGP electromagnetic conductivity with real baryon density, and this depen…
Spin rotation of $Ω^{\pm}$ baryons channeling in a bent crystal at the LHC in addition to EDM measurement open possibility to study $Ω^{\pm}$ baryons electric quadrupole moment. Equations for spin and tensor polarization rotation are presented along with the estimations study for values of the effects under discussion.
The electromagnetic form factors of octet baryons are investigated with the nonlocal chiral effective theory. The nonlocal interaction generates both the regulator which makes the loop integral convergent and the $Q^2$ dependence of form factors at tree level. Both octet and decuplet intermediate states are included in the one loop calculation. The momentum dependence of baryon form factors are studied up to 1 GeV$^2$ with the same number of parameters as for the nucleon form factors. The obtained magnetic moments of all the baryon octets as well as the radii are in good agreement with the exp…
