We study the inert triplet models, in which the standard model (SM) is extended to have a new SU(2)L triplet scalar (Y=0 or 2) with an Z2 symmetry. We show that the neutral component of the triplet can be a good dark matter candidate. In particular, for the hypercharge Y=0 triplet model, the WMAP data favors the region where the dark matter mass is around 5.5 TeV, which is also consistent with the direct detection experiments. In contrast, for the Y=2 model, although dark matter with its mass around 2.8 TeV is allowed by WMAP, it is excluded by the direct detection experiments because the spin-independent cross section is enhanced by the Z mediated tree-level scattering process.
We extend the standard model by three types of inert fields including Majorana fermion singlets/triplets, real Higgs singlets/triplets and leptonic Higgs doublets. In the presence of a softly broken lepton number and an exactly conserved Z_2 discrete symmetry, these inert fields together can mediate a one-loop diagram for a Majorana neutrino mass generation. The heavier inert fields can decay to realize a successful leptogenesis while the lightest inert field can provide a stable dark matter candidate. As an example, we demonstrate the leptogenesis by the inert Higgs doublet decays. We also pe…
We propose a radiative seesaw model with an inert triplet scalar field in which Majorana neutrino masses are generated at the two loop level. There are fermionic or bosonic dark matter candidates in the model. We find that each candidate can satisfy the WMAP data when its mass is taken to be around the half of the mass of the standard model like Higgs boson. We also discuss phenomenology of the inert triplet scalar bosons, especially focusing on the doubly-charged scalar bosons at Large Hadron Collider in parameter regions constrained by the electroweak precision data and WMAP data. We study h…
The neutral component of an inert scalar multiplet with hypercharge can provide a stable dark matter particle when its real and imaginary parts have a splitting mass spectrum. Otherwise, a tree-level dark matter-nucleon scattering mediated by the $Z$ boson will be much above the experimental limit. In this paper we focus on a mixed inert scalar triplet dark matter scenario where a complex scalar triplet with hypercharge can mix with another real scalar triplet without hypercharge through their renormalizable coupling to the standard model Higgs doublet. We consider three specified cases that c…
We study a one-loop induced radiative neutrino model with an inert isospin triplet scalar field, in which we discuss current neutrino oscillation data, lepton flavor violations, muon anomalous magnetic moment, and a dark matter candidate. We show global analysis combining all the constraints, and briefly mention another possibility.
We study collider phenomenology of inert triplet scalar dark matter at the LHC. We discuss possible decay of Higgs boson to dark matter candidate and apply current experimental data for invisible Higgs decay and $R_{γγ}$ to constrain parameter space of our model. We also investigate constraints on dark matter coming from forthcoming measurement, $R_{Zγ}$ and mono-Higgs production. We analytically calculate the annihilation cross section of dark matter candidate into $2γ$ and $Zγ$ and then use FermiLAT data to put constraints on parameter space of Inert Triplet Model. We found that this limit c…
In this article we consider a comparative study between Type-I 2HDM and $Y=0$, $SU(2)$ triplet extensions having one $Z_2$-odd doublet and triplet that render the desired dark matter(DM). For the inert doublet model (IDM) either a neutral scalar or pseudoscalar can be the DM, whereas for inert triplet model (ITM) it is a CP-even scalar. The bounds from perturbativity and vacuum stability are studied for both the scenarios by calculating the two-loop beta functions. While the quartic couplings are restricted to $0.1-0.2$ for a Planck scale perturbativity for IDM, these are much relaxed ($0.8$ )…
In this talk, we will review the signatures of dark matter in two inert triplet models. For the first model with the hypercharge Y=0, the dark matter mass around 5.5 TeV is favored by both the WMAP data and the direct detection. In contrast, for the second model of Y=2, it is excluded by the direct detection experiments although dark matter with its mass around 2.8 TeV is allowed by WMAP.
We investigate simplified models involving an inert scalar triplet and vector-like leptons that can account for the muon $g-2$ anomaly. These simplified scenarios are embedded in a model that features W' and Z' bosons, which are subject to stringent collider bounds. The constraints coming from the muon $g-2$ anomaly are put into perspective with collider bounds, as well as bounds coming from lepton flavor violation searches. The region of parameter space that explains the $g-2$ anomaly is shown to be within reach of lepton flavor violation probes and future colliders such as HL-LHC and HE-LHC.
The nature of dark matter (DM) particles and the mechanism that provides their measured relic abundance are currently unknown. In this paper we investigate inert scalar and vector like fermion doublet DM candidates with a charge asymmetry in the dark sector, which is generated by the same mechanism that provides the baryon asymmetry, namely baryogenesis-via-leptogenesis induced by decays of scalar triplets. At the same time the model gives rise to neutrino masses in the ballpark of oscillation experiments via type II seesaw. We discuss possible sources of depletion of asymmetry in the DM and v…
We propose a scalar Triplet extension of the standard model (SM) to unify the origin of neutrino mass with the visible and dark matter component of the Universe. We assume that the scalar triplet is super heavy, so that its CP-violating out-of-equilibrium decay in the early Universe not only produce asymmetric dark matter which is the neutral component of an additional vector like fermion doublet, but also give rise to lepton asymmetry. The latter gets converted to observed baryon asymmetry via B+L violating sphaleron processes. Below electroweak phase transition the scalar triplet acquires a …
We show that the typical 3-3-1 models are only self-consistent if they contain interactions explicitly violating the lepton number. The 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos can by itself work as an economical 3-3-1 model as a natural recognition of the above criteria while it also results an inert scalar triplet (η) responsible for dark matter. This is ensured by a Z_2 symmetry (assigned so that only ηis odd while all other multiplets which perform the economical 3-3-1 model are even), which is not broken by the vacuum. The minimal 3-3-1 model can provide a dark matter by a similar realizat…
The neutral member of a Majorana fermion triplet (Sigma^+,Sigma^0,Sigma^-) is proposed as a candidate for the dark matter of the Universe. It may also serve as the seesaw anchor for obtaining a radiative neutrino mass.
We investigate a simple variant of type-II seesaw, responsible for neutrino mass generation, where the particle spectrum is extended with one singlet right-handed neutrino and an inert Higgs doublet, both odd under an additional $Z_2$ symmetry. While the role of the dark matter is played by the lightest neutral component of the inert Higgs doublet, its interaction with the Standard Model lepton doublets and the right-handed neutrino turns out to be crucial in generating the correct baryon abundance of the Universe through flavored leptogenesis from the decay of the $SU(2)_L$ scalar triplet, in…
We perform a detailed study of scalar dark matter with triplet Higgs extensions of the Standard Model in order to explain the cosmic ray electron and positron excesses reported by AMS-02 and DAMPE. A detailed analysis of AMS-02 positron excess reveals that for different orderings (normal, inverted and quasi-degenerate) of neutrino mass, the hybrid triplet Higgs portal framework is more favored with respect to the single triplet Higgs portal for TeV scale dark matter. We also show that the resonant peak and continuous excess in DAMPE cosmic ray data can be well explained with the hybrid triplet…
To connect the scalar field (acceleron) responsible for dark energy to neutrinos, the usual strategy is to add unnaturally light neutral singlet fermions (right-handed neutrinos) to the Standard Model. A better choice is actually a Higgs triplet, through the coupling of the acceleron to the trilinear Higgs triplet-double-doublet interaction. This hypothesis predicts an easily observable doubly-charged Higgs boson at the forthcoming Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
We study the dynamics of electroweak phase transition in a simple extension of the Standard Model where the Higgs sector is extended by adding an $SU(2)_L$-triplet with hypercharge Y=2. By making random scans over the parameters of the model, we show that there are regions consistent with constraints from collider experiments and the requirement for a strong first-order electroweak phase transition which is needed for electroweak baryogenesis. Further, we also study the power spectrum of the gravitational waves which can be generated due to the first-order phase transitions. Moreover, the dete…
A two-component scalar DM scenario comprising an additional scalar doublet and a $Y$ = 0 scalar triplet is proposed. Key features of the ensuing dark matter phenomenology are highlighted with emphasis on inter-conversion between the two dark matter components. For suitable choices of the model parameters, we show that such inter-conversion can explain the observed relic abundance when the doublet dark matter component has mass in the \emph{desert} region while the triplet component has sub-TeV mass. This finding is important in the context of such mass regions known to predict under-abundant r…
We propose a two component dark matter set-up by extending the Standard Model with a singlet and a hypercharge-less triplet scalars, each of them being odd under different $Z_2$ symmetries. We observe that the inter-conversion between the two dark matter components allow a viable parameter space where masses of both the dark matter candidates can be below TeV, even though their individual contribution to single component dark matter rules out any such sub-TeV dark matter. We find that a lighter mass of the neutral component of the scalar triplet, playing the role of one dark matter component, …
We examine the collider and dark matter phenomenology of the Standard Model extended by a hypercharge-zero SU(2) triplet scalar and gauge singlet scalar. In particular, we study the scenario where the singlet and triplet are both charged under a single $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry. We find that such an extension is capable of generating the observed dark matter density, while also modifying the collider phenomenology such that the lower bound on the mass of the triplet is smaller than in minimal triplet scalar extensions to the Standard Model. A high triplet mass is in tension with the parameter sp…
We consider a scenario where an SU(2) triplet scalar acts as the portal for a scalar dark matter particle. We identify regions of the parameter space, where such a triplet coexists with the usual Higgs doublet consistently with all theoretical as well as neutrino, accelerator and dark matter constraints, and the triplet-dominated neutral state has substantial invisible branching fraction. LHC signals are investigated for such regions, in the final state {\em same-sign dilepton + $\ge$ 2 jets + $\not E_T$.} While straightforward detectability at the high-luminosity run is predicted for some ben…
Real scalar triplet dark matter, which is known to be an attractive candidate for a thermal WIMP, is comprehensively studied paying particular attention to the Sommerfeld effect on the dark matter annihilation caused by the weak interaction and the other interaction between the dark matter and the Higgs boson. We find a parameter region that includes the so-called 'WIMP-Miracle' one is still surviving, i.e. it respects all constraints imposed by dark matter searches at collider experiments, underground experiments (direct detection) and astrophysical observations (indirect detection). The regi…
We analyze the effects of introducing vector-like leptons in the Higgs Triplet Model providing the lightest vector-like neutrino as a Dark Matter candidate. We explore the effect of the relic density constraint on the mass and Yukawa coupling of dark matter, as well as calculate the cross sections for indirect and direct dark matter detection. We show our model predictions for the neutrino and muon fluxes from the Sun, and the restrictions they impose on the parameter space. We show that this model, with a restricted parameter space, is completely consistent with dark matter constraints, and i…
We propose a UV completion of the inverse see-saw scenario using fermion SU(2) triplet representations. Within this framework, a variation of the standard thermal leptogenesis is achievable at the O(TeV) scale, owing to the presence of a viable dark matter candidate. This baryogenesis scenario is ruled out if a triplet fermion is observed at the LHC. The dark matter is given by the lightest neutral component of a complex scalar SU(2) triplet, with mass in the TeV range. The scalar sector, which is enriched in order to account for the small neutrino masses, is treated in detail and shows potent…
We consider the possibility that the dark matter particle is a scalar WIMP messenger associated to neutrino mass generation, made stable by the same symmetry responsible for the radiative origin of neutrino mass. We focus on some of the implications of this proposal as realized within the singlet-triplet scotogenic dark matter model. We identify consistent parameter sets consistent both with neutrino mass and the observed dark matter abundance. Finally we characterize the expected phenomenological profile of heavy Higgs boson physics at the LHC as well as at future linear Colliders.
In this paper we work in the framework of a radiative seesaw model with triplet fermion $Σ$. Due to the $Z_2$ discrete flavor symmetry, the lightest neutral component of $Σ$ is stable and thus can be a dark matter candidate. Its mass can be solely determined by the dark matter relic abundance, which is bout 2.594 TeV. The model also predict a dark matter-nucleus scattering cross section that would be accessible with future dark matter direct detection searches. We further investigate constraints on the parameter space of the model from the lepton-flavor-violating processes and neutrino transit…
We study discovery prospects for a real triplet extension of the Standard Model scalar sector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and a possible future 100 TeV $pp$ collider. We focus on the scenario in which the neutral triplet scalar is stable and contributes to the dark matter relic density. When produced in $pp$ collisions, the charged triplet scalar decays to the neutral component plus a soft pion or soft lepton pair, yielding a disappearing charged track in the detector. We recast current 13TeV LHC searches for disappearing tracks, and find that the LHC presently excludes a real triplet s…
The Inert Doublet Model is an extension of the Standard Model including one extra ``Inert scalar doublet'' and an exact $Z_2$ symmetry. The ``Inert scalar'' provides a new candidate for dark matter. We present a systematic analysis of the dark matter abundance assuming the standard freeze-out mechanism and investigate the potentialities for direct and gamma indirect detection. We show that the dark matter candidate saturates the WMAP dark matter density in two rather separate mass ranges, one between 40 and 80 GeV, the other one over 400 GeV. We also show that the model should be within the ra…
We study the Inert Higgs Doublet Model and its inert scalar Higgs $H$ as the only source for dark matter. It is found that three mass regions of the inert scalar Higgs can give the correct dark matter relic density. The low mass region (between 3 and 50 GeV) is ruled out. New direct dark matter detection experiments will probe the intermediate (between 60 and 100 GeV) and high (heavier than 550 GeV) mass regions. Collider experiments are advised to search for $D^\pm \to HW^\pm$ decay in the two jets plus missing energy channel.
In the inert scalar doublet framework, we analyze what would be the effect of a $B-L$ asymmetry that could have been produced in the Universe thermal bath at high temperature. We show that, unless the "$λ_5$" scalar interaction is tiny, this asymmetry is automatically reprocessed in part into an inert scalar asymmetry that could be at the origin of dark matter today. Along this scenario, the inert mass scale lies in the few-TeV range and direct detection constraints require that the inert scalar particles decay into a lighter dark matter particle which, as the inert doublet, is odd under a $Z_…
We extend the Higgs triplet model so as to include dark matter candidates and a simple suppression mechanism for the vacuum expectation value (v_Delta) of the triplet scalar field. The smallness of neutrino masses can be naturally explained with the suppressed value of v_Delta even when the triplet fields are at the TeV scale. The Higgs sector is extended by introducing Z_2-odd scalars (an SU(2)_L doublet eta and a real singlet s_2^0) in addition to a Z_2-even complex singlet scalar s_1^0 whose vacuum expectation value violates the lepton number conservation by a unit. In our model, v_Delta is…
The lightest neutral scalar in the Inert Higgs Doublet Model is a natural candidate for WIMP dark matter. In this paper, we analyzed the dark matter relic density in the Inert Higgs Doublet model. Various theoretical and experimental constraints are taken into account. We found that there are five distinctive regions that could provide the right amount of the relic density in the Universe. Four out of those five regions have a light particle spectrum which could be studied at the Large Hadron Collider.
By extending the Standard Model with singlet-doublet fermions and triplet scalars, all odd under a new $Z_2$ symmetry, we introduce a radiative seesaw model that can simultaneously account for dark matter, explain the existence of neutrino masses and allow for gauge coupling unification. We explore the viable parameter space of the model after imposing collider, Higgs mass, dark matter, neutrino mass and lepton flavour violation constraints. We find that dark matter in this model is fermionic for masses below about 1 TeV and scalar above and observe a high degree of complementarity between dir…
We demonstrate a unified scenario for neutrino mass, baryon asymmetry, dark matter and inflation. In addition to a fermion triplet for the so-called minimal dark matter, we extend the standard model by three heavy fields including a scalar singlet, a fermion triplet and a fermion singlet/Higgs triplet. The heavy scalar singlet, which is expected to drive an inflation, and the dark matter fermion triplet are odd under an unbroken $Z_2^{}$ discrete symmetry, while the other fields are all even. The heavy fermion triplet offers a tree-level type-III seesaw and then mediates a three-body decay of …
We study the signatures of the triplet-quadruplet dark matter model at the LHC and future colliders, including the 100 TeV Super Proton-Proton Collider and the 240 GeV Circular Electron Positron Collider. The dark sector in this model contains one fermionic electroweak triplet and two fermionic quadruplets, which have two kinds of Yukawa couplings to the Higgs doublet. Electroweak production signals of the dark sector fermions in the $\text{monojet}+/\!\!\!\!E_\mathrm{T}$, disappearing track, and $\text{multilepton}+/\!\!\!\!E_\mathrm{T}$ channels at the LHC and the Super Proton-Proton Collide…
One of the simplest extensions of the Standard Model that explains the observed abundance of dark matter is the inert doublet model. In this theory a discrete symmetry ensures that the neutral component of an additional electroweak doublet scalar is stable, and constitutes a dark matter candidate. As massive bodies such as the Sun and Earth move through the dark matter halo, dark matter particles can become gravitationally trapped in their cores. Annihilations of these particles result in neutrinos, which can potentially be observed with neutrino telescopes. We calculate the neutrino detection…
We consider a dark matter (DM) model that arises from the interplay of two simplified dark matter models, namely the doublet-triplet fermion model and the doublet-triplet scalar model. Despite being excellent exponents of the WIMP paradigm, the physics related to DM in each of these models fails at the same time to account for neutrino masses. It turns out that from the combination of these two models it is possible to generate neutrino masses at one-loop level in the four topologies that are realizations of the Weinberg operator for neutrino masses at one-loop. In this work, we combine both m…
In this talk, we will review Inert Triplet Model (ITM) which provide candidate for dark matter (DM) particles. Then we study possible decays of Higgs boson to DM candidate and apply current experimental data for invisible Higgs decay to constrain parameter space of ITM. We also consider indirect search for DM and use FermiLAT data to put constraints on parameter space. Ultimately we compare this limit with constraints provided by LUX experiment for low mass DM and invisible Higgs decay.
In scenarios with very small dark matter (DM) couplings and small mass splittings between the DM and other dark sector particles, so-called "co-scattering" or "conversion-driven freeze-out" can be the dominant mechanism for DM production. We present the inclusion of this mechanism in micrOMEGAs together with a case study of the phenomenological implications in the fermionic singlet-triplet model. For the latter, we focus on the transition between co-annihilation and co-scattering processes. We observe that co-scattering is needed to describe the thermal behaviour of the DM for very small coupl…
We present an extension of the SM involving three triplet fermions, one triplet scalar and one singlet fermion, which can explain both neutrino masses and dark matter. One triplet of fermions and the singlet are odd under a $Z_2$ symmetry, thus the model features two possible dark matter candidates. The two remaining $Z_2$-even triplet fermions can reproduce the neutrino masses and oscillation parameters consistent with observations. We consider the case where the singlet has feeble couplings while the triplet is weakly interacting and investigate the different possibilities for reproducing th…
Although theoretically well-motivated as a minimal consistent Dark Matter (DM) model, the Inert Doublet Model (IDM) fell short in explaining the existence of DM in the intermediate mass region ($100-500$ GeV). We try to address this problem by introducing an additional vector dark matter. We show that the relic density of inert dark matter candidate can be enhanced significantly with new interactions in the intermediate mass region $100-500$ GeV in the multicomponent dark matter model when compared with the usual single component inert doublet model. We also show that we can get a reasonable e…
We show that models with exotic leptons transforming as E ~ (1,3,-1) under the standard model gauge symmetry are well suited for generating neutrino mass via a radiative inverse seesaw. This approach realizes natural neutrino masses and allows multiple new states to appear at the TeV scale. The exotic leptons are therefore good candidates for new physics that can be probed at the LHC. Furthermore, remnant low-energy symmetries ensure a stable dark matter candidate, providing a link between dark matter and the origins of neutrino mass.
We discuss neutralino dark matter arising from supersymmetric models with extra inert Higgsinos and singlinos, where inert means that their scalar partners do not get vacuum expectation values. As an example, we consider the extended neutralino sector of the E$_6$SSM, which predicts three families of Higgs doublet pairs, plus three singlets, plus a $Z'$, together with their fermionic superpartners. We show that the two families of inert doublet Higgsinos and singlinos predicted by this model provide an almost decoupled neutralino sector with a naturally light LSP which can account for the cold…
We study an extension of the Inert Higgs Doublet Model (IHDM) by three copies of right handed neutrinos and heavy charged leptons such that both the inert Higgs doublet and the heavy fermions are odd under the $Z_2$ symmetry of the model. The neutrino masses are generated at one loop in the scotogenic fashion. Assuming the neutral scalar of the inert Higgs to be the dark matter candidate, we particularly look into the region of parameter space where dark matter relic abundance is primarily governed by the inert Higgs coupling with the leptons. This corresponds to tiny Higgs portal coupling of …
We investigate the predictions of a simple extension of the Standard Model where the Higgs sector is composed of one $SU(2)_L$ doublet and one real triplet. We discuss the general features of the model, including its vacuum structure, theoretical and phenomenological constraints, and expectations for Higgs collider studies. The model predicts the existence of a pair of light charged scalars and, for vanishing triplet vacuum expectation value, contains a cold dark matter candidate. When the latter possibility occurs, the charged scalars are long-lived, leading to a prediction of distinctive sin…
Motivated by the absence of dark matter signals in direct detection experiments and the discovery of gravitational waves (GWs) at aLIGO, we discuss the possibility to explore a generic classes of scalar dark matter models using the complementary searches via phase transition gravitational waves and the future lepton collider signatures. We focus on the inert scalar multiplet dark matter models and the mixed inert scalar dark matter models, which could undergo a strong first-order phase transitions during the evolution of the early universe, and might produce detectable phase transition GW sign…
We study a left right (LR) extension of the Standard Model (SM) where the Dark Matter (DM) candidate is composed of a set of fermionic Majorana triplets. The DM is stabilized by a remnant $Z_{2}$ symmetry from the breaking of the LR group to the SM. Two simple scenarios where the DM particles plus a certain set of extra fields lead to gauge coupling unification with a low LR scale are explored. The constraints from relic density and predictions for direct detection are discussed for both scenarios. The first scenario with a $SU(2)_R$ vectorlike fermion triplet contains a DM candidate which is …
The inability to predict neutrino masses and the existence of the dark matter are two essential shortcomings of the Standard Model. The Higgs Triplet Model provides an elegant resolution of neutrino masses via the seesaw mechanism. We show here that introducing vectorlike leptons in the model also provides a resolution to the problem of dark matter. We investigate constraints, including the invisible decay width of the Higgs boson and the electroweak precision variables, and impose restrictions on model parameters. We analyze the effect of the relic density constraint on the mass and Yukawa co…
We consider a recently proposed supersymmetric radiative seesaw model which is coupled with the minimal supergravity. The conventional R parity and $Z_2$ invariance are imposed, which ensures the existence of a multi-component dark matter system. We assume that the pair of the lightest neutralino $\tildeχ$ and the fermionic component $\tildeξ$ of the inert Higgs supermultiplet is dark matter. If $\tildeξ$ is lighter than $\tildeχ$, and the lightest neutral inert Higgs boson is kinematically forbidden to decay (third dark matter), the allowed region in the $m_0{\rm \mathchar`-}M_{1/2}$ plane in…
We analyse the thermal evolution of the Universe in the Inert Doublet Model for three viable regions of Dark Matter mass: low, medium and high DM mass. Those three regions exhibit different behaviour in the possible types of evolution. We argue that the quartic self-couplings in IDM are significant parameters for the astrophysical analysis.
The inert Zee model is an extension of the Zee model for neutrino masses. This new model explains the dark matter relic abundance, generates a one-loop neutrino masses and forbids tree-level Higgs-mediated flavor changing neutral currents. Although the dark matter phenomenology of the model is similar to that of the inert doublet model, the presence of new vector-like fermions opens the lepton portal as a new dark matter annihilation channel. We study the impact of such a new portal in the low mass regime and show the parameter space allowed by direct and indirect searches of dark matter. Rema…
