We study the effect of isospin degree of freedom on the balance energy (E$_{bal}$) as well as its mass dependence throughout the mass range 48-270 for two sets of isobaric systems with N/Z = 1 and 1.4 at different colliding geometries ranging from central to peripheral ones. Our findings reveal the dominance of Coulomb repulsion in isospin effects on E$_{bal}$ as well as its mass dependence throughout the range of the colliding geometry.

A detailed study fusion of neutron-rich colliding nuclei is performed using various isospin dependent potentials. For present study, Three different series namely, Ne-Ne, Ca-Ca, and Zr-Zr are taken into account and N/Z ratio.A monotonous increase (decrease) in the fusion barrier positions (heights) using a unified second order nonlinear parametrization in the normalized fusion barrier positions and heights with (N/Z-1) is presented. These predications are in good agreement with the available theoretical as well as experimental results.

Using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model we study the isospin effects on the disappearance of flow for the reactions of 58Ni+58Ni and 58Fe+58Fe as a function of impact parameter. We found good agreement between our calculations and experimentally measured energy of vanishing flow at all colliding geometries. Our calculations reproduce the experimental data within 5%(10%) at central (peripheral) colliding geometries.
Using the QMD model, we study the mass dependence of the disappearance of transverse flow in heavier colliding nuclei. A power law mass dependence is obtained in all cases. Our results are in excellent agreement with data. For the first time, we predict the balance energy of U+U around 37-39 MeV/nucleon.
Using isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamical model, the studies of the isospin effect on preequilibrium nucleon emission in heavy ion collisions under different entrance channel conditions show that the ratio of preequilibrium neutron number to proton number depends strongly on symmetry potential, beam energy, and the ratio of neutron to proton of the colliding system, but weakly on isospin dependent in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross sections, impact parameter, Pauli potential, and momentum dependent interaction in the energy region from 45MeV/u up to 150 MeV/u where the dynamics is domin…
We present a complete systematic theoretical study of multifragmentation for asymmetric colliding nuclei for heavy-ion reactions in the energy range between 50 MeV/nucleon and 1000 MeV/nucleon by using isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model. We have observed an interesting outcome for asymmetric colliding nuclei. The comparison between the symmetric and asymmetric colliding nuclei for the isospin independent cross section and isospin dependent cross section has been studied. We have found the pronounced effect of different cross section and mass asymmetry on the nuclear reac…
The sensitivities of isospin asymmetry and collision geometry dependencies of participant (overlapping region)- spectator (quasiprojectile and quasitarget region) matter towards the symmetry energy using the isospin quantum molecular dynamical model are explored. Particularly, the difference of the number of nucleons in the overlapping zone to the quasi-projectile-target matter is found to be quite sensitive to the symmetry energy at semiperipheral geometries compared to the individual yield. It gives us a clue that this quantity can be used as a measure of isospin migration. Further, the yiel…
A complete theoretical study is presented for the disappearance of flow, for the first time, by analyzing 15 reactions with masses between 47 and 476 units. We demonstrate that the effect of nucleon-nucleon cross-section reduces to insignificant level for heavier colliding nuclei in agreement with previous studies. A stiff equation of state with nucleon-nucleon cross-sections of 35-40 mb is able to explain all the measured balance energies within few percent. A power law is also given for the mass dependence of the disappearance of flow which is in excellent agreement with experimental data.
To understand the isospin effects in nearly symmetric nuclear matter we performed a complete systematical theoretical study within an Isospin dependent Quantum Molecular Dynamical Model (IQMD) and using Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) algorithm. Simulations are carried out for the reactions $_{124}Sn^{50}+_{124}Sn^{50}$ and $_{107}Sn^{50}+_{124}Sn^{50}$. The collision geometry is varied from central to peripheral. We find that neutron rich colliding nuclei are better candidate to study the isospin effects

Using an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model, nuclear stopping is analyzed in asymmetric colliding channels by keeping the total mass fixed. The calculations have been carried by varying the asymmetry of the colliding pairs with different neutron-proton ratios in center of mass energy 250 MeV/nucleon and by switching off the effect of Coulomb interactions. We find sizable effect of asymmetry of colliding pairs on the stopping and therefore on the equilibrium reached in a reaction.
We study the role of colliding geometry on the N/Z dependence of balance energy using isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model. Our study reveals that the N/Z dependence of balance energy becomes much steeper for peripheral collisions as compared to the central collisions. We also study the effect of system mass on the impact parameter dependence of N/Z dependence of balance energy. The study shows that lighter systems shows greater sensitivity to colliding geometry towards the N/Z dependence.

In the simulation of intermediate energy heavy ion collisions by using the isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics, the isospin effect on the process of multifragmentation and dissipation has been studied. It is found that the multiplicity of intermediate mass fragments $N_{imf}$ for the neutron-poor colliding system is always larger than that for the neutron-rich system, while the quadrupole of single particle momentum distribution $Q_{zz}$ for the neutron-poor colliding system is smaller than that of the neutron-rich system for all projectile-target combinations studied at the beam ener…
A study of elliptical flow is presented with respect to the asymmetry of colliding nuclei using the reactions of 24Cr50 +44 Ru102, 16S32 +50 Sn120 and 8O16 +54 Xe136 at incident energies between 50 and 250 MeV/nucleon within the framework of isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model. For the present analysis, total mass of the colliding pairs is kept fixed and asymmetry is varied as ? = 0.2, 0.3, 0.7. The elliptical flow shows a transition from in-plane to out-of-plane in the mid rapidity region with incident energy. The transition energy is found to increase with the asymmetry for li…
We study the correlation between balance energy and transition energy of fragment in heavy-ion collisions for different systems at incident energies between 40 and 1200 MeV/nucleon using an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model. With increasing incident energy, the elliptic flow shows a transition from positive (in-plane) to negative (out-of-plane) flow. This transition energy is found to depend on the size of fragments, composite mass of reacting system, and the impact parameter of reaction. It has been observed that reduced cross-section can explain the experimental data. There …
This study uses classical molecular dynamics to simulate infinite nuclear matter and study the effect of isospin asymmetry on bulk properties such as energy per nucleon, pressure, saturation density, compressibility and symmetry energy. The simulations are performed on systems embedded in periodic boundary conditions with densities and temperatures in the ranges $ρ$=0.02 to 0.2 fm$^{-3}$ and T = 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 MeV, and with isospin content of $x=Z/A$=0.3, 0.4 and 0.5. The results indicate that symmetric and asymmetric matter are self-bound at some temperatures and exhibit phase transitions f…
The effect of the density dependence of symmetry energy on fragmentation is studied using isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model(IQMD) Model. We have used the reduced isospin-dependent cross-section with soft equation of state to explain the experimental findings for the system 79_Au^197 + 79_Au^197 for the full colliding geometry. In addition to that we have tried to study the collective response of the momentum dependent interactions(MDI) and symmetry energy towards the multifragmentation
We aim to study the role of momentum-dependent interactions in transverse flow as well as in its disappearance. For the present study, central collisions involving mass between 24 and 394 are considered. We find that momentum-dependent interactions have different impact in lighter colliding nuclei compared to heavier colliding nuclei. In lighter nuclei, the contribution of mean field towards the flow is smaller compared to heavier nuclei where binary nucleon-nucleon collisions dominate the scene. The inclusion of momentum-dependent interactions also explains the energy of vanishing flow in $^{…
Based on the Isospin-dependent transport model Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck (IBUU), effects of the high momentum tail (HMT) of nucleon momentum distribution in colliding nuclei on some isospin-sensitive observables are studied in the semi-central $^{197}\rm {Au}+^{197}\rm {Au}$ reactions at incident beam energy of 400 MeV/nucleon. It is found that the nucleon transverse flow, the difference of neutron and proton transverse flows, the nucleon elliptic flow and free neutron to proton ratio are all less sensitive to the HMT, while the isospin-sensitive nucleon elliptic flow difference is clearly a…
We investigate properties of the symmetry term in the equation-of-state (EOS) of nuclear matter (NM) from the analysis of simulations of fragmentation events in intermediate energy heavy ion collisions. For charge asymmetric systems a qualitative new feature in the liquid-gas phase transition is predicted: the onset of chemical instabilities with a mixture of isoscalar and isovector components. This leads to a separation into a higher density (``liquid'') symmetric and a low density (``gas'') neutron-rich phase, the so-called neutron distillation effect. We analyse the simulations with respect…
Response functions in nuclear matter at finite temperature are considered beyond the usual Hartree-Fock (HF) plus Random Phase Approximation (RPA) scheme. The contributions due to the propagator for the dressed nucleons and the corresponding vertex corrections are treated in a consistent way. For that purpose a semi-realistic Hamiltonian is developed with parameters adjusted to reproduce the nucleon self-energy as derived from realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions. For a scalar residual interaction the resulting response functions are very close to the RPA response functions. However, the col…
Within an isospin- and momentum-dependent transport model using as an input nucleon density profiles from Hartree-Fock calculations based on a modified Skyrme-like (MSL) model, we study how to eliminate the influence of neutron-skin size difference of initial colliding nuclei in probing the nuclear symmetry energy. Within the current experimental uncertainty range of neutron-skin size of $^{208}$Pb, the Pb+Pb collisions are performed in semicentral and peripheral collisions with impact parameters of 5 and 9fm and at beam energies from 50 MeV/nucleon to 1000 MeV/nucleon, respectively. It is sho…
The centrality dependence of directed and elliptic flow in light and heavy systems of colliding nuclei is studied within two microscopic transport models at energies from 1 AGeV to 160 A GeV. The pion directed flow has negative slope in the midrapidity range irrespective of bombarding energy and mass number of the colliding ions. In contrast, the directed flow of nucleons vanishes and even develops antiflow in the midrapidity range in (semi)peripheral collisions at energies around 11.6 A GeV and higher. The origin of the disappearance of flow is linked to nuclear shadowing. Since the effect is…
The isospin dependence of in-medium nuclear effective interactions is a fundamental issue in nuclear physics and has broad ramifications in astrophysics. Its uncertainties, especially the difference of neutron-proton interactions in the isosinglet and isotriplet channels, affect significantly the density and momentum dependence of the isovector single-nucleon potential and nucleon-nucleon short-range correlation in neutron-rich matter. Consequently, the neutron-proton effective mass splitting and the density dependence of nuclear symmetry energy are still rather uncertain. Heavy-ion reactions …
In the framework of the isospin-dependent Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck transport model, effect of the momentum dependence of nuclear symmetry potential on pion-/pion+ ratio in the neutron-rich reaction 132Sn+124Sn at a beam energy of 400 MeV/nucleon is studied. We find that the momentum dependence of nuclear symmetry potential affects the compressed density of colliding nuclei, numbers of produced pion- and pion+, as well as the value of pion-/pion+ ratio. The momentum dependent nuclear symmetry potential increases the compressed density of colliding nuclei, numbers of produced resonances delta…

It is found that the nucleon transverse and elliptic flows, the free neutron to proton ratio at low momenta are all less sensitive to the specific form of the HMT, while the free neutron to proton ratio at high momenta and the yields of $π^{-}$ and $π^{+}$ as w…
\item[Purpose] We suppose that the IYR(m) depends on the neutron-skin thickness ($δ_{np}$) of the projectile, and check the idea of whether the neutron-skin thickness effects can fully explain the systematic dependence of the IYR(m). \item[Methods] A modified statistical abrasion-ablation model is used to calculate the reactions induced by projectiles of three series. \item[Results] The IYR(m) shows a distribution of a linear part in the small-$x$ fragments, and a nonlinear part in the large-$x$ fragments. The linear part of IYR(m) is fitted. (1) In the calcium isotopic reactions, the IYR(m) d…
