We studied a feasibility of measuring Higgs boson pair production in a Photon Linear Collider. The optimum energy of gamma gamma collision was estimated with a realistic luminosity distribution. We also discussed simulation study for detecting the signal against W boson pair backgrounds.
In this paper, we present detailed studies on the feasibility at $pp$, $e^-p$ and $e^+e^-$ colliders for model-independent sensitivity estimates on the total cross-section and on the anomalous $τ^+τ^-γ$ interaction through the tau pair production channels $pp \to pτ\bar τγp$, $e^-p \to e^- τ\bar τγp$ and $e^+e^- \to e^+ τ\bar τγe^-$ at the $γ^*γ^* \to τ^+τ^-γ$ mode. Measurements of the anomalous couplings of the $τ$-lepton $\tilde{a}_τ$ and $\tilde{d}_τ$ provide an excellent opportunity to probing extensions of the Standard Model. We estimate the sensitivity at the $95\%$ Confidence Level, and…
If the $X(3872)$ is a weakly bound charm-meson molecule, it can be produced by the creation of $D^{*0} \bar{D}^0$ or $D^{0} \bar{D}^{*0}$ at short distances followed by the formation of the bound state from the charm-meson pair. The $X$ can also be produced by the creation of $D^* \bar{D}^*$ at short distances followed by the rescattering of the charm-meson pair into $X π$. At a high-energy hadron collider, the prompt cross section from this mechanism has a narrow peak in the $X π$ invariant mass distribution near the $D^* \bar D^*$ threshold from a charm-meson triangle singularity. An order-o…
The Polarized Atomic Hydrogen Gas Jet Target polarimeter (HJET) is used to measure the absolute proton beam polarization, $σ_P^\text{syst}/P\!\lesssim\!0.5\%$, at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Here I consider the possibility of employing HJET to measure the ${}^3\text{He}$ ($h$) beam polarization at the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). The dominant contribution to the ratio of the $h^\uparrow{p}$ and $p^\uparrow{h}$ analyzing powers, which is needed for such measurements, can be easily calculated using well-known values of the proton and helion magnetic moments, but some corrections should …
The Weizsaecker-Williams transverse momentum dependent (TMD) gluon distributions can be probed in the production of a hard dijet in semi-inclusive DIS. This process is sensitive not only to the conventional but also to the linearly polarized gluon distribution. The latter gives rise to an azimuthal dependence of the dijet cross section and therefore can be distinguished from the former. Feasibility study of a measurement of these TMDs through dijet production at a future electron-ion collider shows that the extraction of the distribution of linearly polarized gluons with a statistical accuracy…

We consider the measurement of the trilinear couplings of the neutral Higgs bosons~($H^0, h^0$) in the minimal supersymmetric standard model~(MSSM) at a high energy $e^+$ $e^-$ linear collider in the light of the discovery of a Higgs boson at the CERN Large Hadron Collider~(LHC). We identify the state observed at the LHC with the lightest CP-even Higgs boson of the MSSM. We implement this constraint, as well as all the other relevant experimental constraints, on the parameter space of the MSSM in order to study the feasibility of measuring the trilinear couplings of the neutral Higgs bosons. F…
The current knowledge on the $D_{s}^{\ast}$ meson are very limited. Besides the dominant electromagnetic decays, the $D_{s}^{\ast}$ weak decays are legal and offer the valuable opportunities to explore the wanted $D_{s}^{\ast}$ meson. In this paper, the $D_{s}^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ $ϕπ$ decay was studied with the factorization approach. It is found that the branching ratio ${\cal B}(D_{s}^{\ast}{\to}ϕπ)$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-7})$, which corresponds to several thousands of events at the $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider experiments including STCF, SuperKEKB, CEPC and FCC-ee, and several millions of events at …
In this paper we discuss the possibility of measuring the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the $τ$ lepton. The method consists in studying the spin precession induced by the strong effective magnetic field inside channels of a bent crystal with a dedicated setup at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.
The proposed future Large Hadron Electron Collider provides sufficient center of mass energies, $\sqrt{s}$, to probe heavy particles decaying into $W^\pm(Z)-$boson of mass $>2m_W$ $(2m_Z)$. In this work we present a study to produce one such heavy $C P$ even scalar $H$ of mass $2m_h < m_H < 2 m_t$ through charged-current production mode where $H \to W^+W^-$, where hadronic decay of $W^\pm-$boson is considered to reconstruct $m_H$. Due to the presence of missing energy and forward jet in this channel, it is challenging to reconstruct $m_H$ with above final state and thus we employed three diffe…
The event generator BEEC [Z. Yang, X.G. Wu and X.Y. Wang, Comput. Phys. Commun. 184, 2848 (2013)] was devoted to the simulation of heavy quarkonium production at an unpolarized electron-positron collider. We upgraded it here by adding the generation of quarkonium with polarized electron and positron beams. In addition, the production of color-singlet 2S-wave states were included. Several future electron-positron colliders with high luminosity have been under discussion in the past decade. Especially, their possibility of producing polarized beams is important for providing more insights into t…
We present a dispersive analysis with the aim to extract the $Υ$-p scattering length from $γp \to Υp$ experiments. In this framework, the imaginary part of the $Υ$-p forward scattering amplitude is obtained from $γp \to Υp$ cross section measurements, and is constrained at high energies from existing HERA and LHC data. Its real part is calculated through a once-subtracted dispersion relation, and the subtraction constant is proportional to the $Υ$-p scattering length. We perform a feasibility study for $Υ$ photo-production experiments at an Electron-Ion Collider and discuss the sensitivity and…
We present the most general sum rules reflecting the cancellation of ultraviolet divergences in the Higgs potential in weakly-coupled, natural extensions of the Standard Model. There is a separate sum rule for the cancellation of the quadratic and logarithmic divergences, and their forms depend on whether the divergences are canceled by same-spin or opposite-spin partners. These sum rules can be applied to mass eigenstates and conveniently used for direct collider tests of naturalness. We study in detail the feasibility of testing these sum rules in the top sector at a future $100\TeV$ proton …
We studied the feasibility of observing light-by-light scattering in a photon-photon collider based on an existing accelerator complex and a commercially available laser system. We investigated the statistical significance of the signal over the QED backgrounds through a Monte Carlo simulation with a detector model. The study showed that light-by-light scattering can be observed with a statistical significance of 8 to 10 sigma in a year of operation, depending on the operating conditions.
In this work, we present a systematic study on the feasibility of probing the largely unexplored transverse momentum dependent gluon Sivers function (GSF) in open charm production, high p$_T$ charged di-hadron and di-jet production at a future high energy, high luminosity Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). The Sivers function is a measure for the anisotropy of the parton distributions in momentum space inside a transversely polarized nucleon. It is proposed that it can be studied through single spin asymmetries in the photon-gluon fusion subprocess in electron proton collisions at the EIC. Using a w…
An Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) with center-of-mass energies sqrt(s_{eN}) ~ 20-100 GeV and luminosity L ~ 10^{34} cm^{-2} s^{-1} would offer new opportunities to study heavy quark production in high-energy electron or photon scattering on protons and nuclei. We report about an R&D project exploring the feasibility of direct measurements of nuclear gluon densities at large x (gluonic EMC effect, antishadowing) using open charm production at EIC. We describe the charm production rates and angle-momentum distributions at large x and discuss methods of charm reconstruction using next-generation det…
We explore the feasibility of the measurement of charm-jet cross sections in charged-current deep-inelastic scattering at the future Electron-Ion Collider. This channel provides clean sensitivity to the strangeness content of the nucleon in the high-$x$ region. We estimate charm-jet tagging performance with parametrized detector simulations. We show the expected sensitivity to various scenarios for strange parton distribution functions. We argue that this measurement will be key to future QCD global analyses, so it should inform EIC detector designs and luminosity requirements.
We examine the feasibility of the Bell test (i.e., detecting a violation of the Bell inequality) with the ATLAS detector in Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN through the flavor entanglement between the B mesons. After addressing the possible issues that arise associated with the experiment and how they may be treated based on an analogy with conventional Bell tests, we show in our simulation study that under realistic conditions (expected from the LHC Run 3 operation) the Bell test is feasible under mild assumptions. The definitive factor for this promising result lies primarily in the fact …
