In this work we describe a black hole, set on a non-commutative background. The model, which is relatively simple, is an exact solution of the Einstein Field Equations. Based on a proposition we put forward, we argue that introducing a matter density field on a non-commutative background sets up a mechanism that deforms the field into two distinct fields, one residing dominantly on the lattice tops (hereafter, on-cell) and the other residing dominantly in the inter-lattice regions (hereafter, off-cell). The two fields have different physical and themodynamic characterics which we describe, and some of which play a role in halting collpse to a singularity. For example, not surprisingly the on-cell (off-cell) fields manifest standard on-shell (off-shell) characteristics, respectively. Both the density and the net mass-energy are unchanged by the deformation mechanism. In our treatment the mass of a black hole defines its own size scale L of the interior region it occupies. Moreover, such a length is quantized, L=2N\sqrtθ, in terms of a minimum length scale \sqrtθ. The approach has the advantage that there is no degeneracy in mass-confinement since, here, the black hole density is not a function of the mass (as is the case in some recent treatments). The density is, instead a fixed quantity. As such, the approach puts an upper bound on black hole density, making it a universal parameter. The picture that emerges is that a black hole defined on a non-commutative background is both non-singular, holographic and quantized. Yet we also find, interestingly, that when taken over L the average value of the associated energy-stress tensor of the fields satisfies all classical energy conditions of GR.
We study the shadow and energy emission rate of a spherically symmetric non-commutative black hole in Rastall gravity. Depending on the model parameters, the non-commutative black hole can reduce to the Schwarzschild black hole. Since the non-vanishing non-commutative parameter affects the formation of event horizon, the visibility of the resulting shadow depends on the non-commutative parameter in Rastall gravity. The obtained sectional shadows respect the unstable circular orbit condition, which is crucial for physical validity of the black hole image model.
This paper investigates the shadow of a charged rotating non-commutative black hole. For this purpose, we first formulate the null geodesics and study the effects of non-commutative charge on the photon orbit. We then explore the effect of spin, angle of inclination as well as non-commutative charge on the silhouette of the shadow. It is found that shape of the shadow deviates from the circle with the decrease in the non-commutative charge. We also discuss observable quantities to study the deformation and distortion in the shadow cast by the black hole which decreases for small values of non-…
We consider non-commutating Simpson-Visser spacetime and study the superradiance phenomena and the shadow cast by the back hole associated with this modified spacetime. We extensively study the different aspects of the black hole associated with the metric endowed with the corrections linked with non-commutative properties of spacetime. We study the superradiance effect, deviation of shape, size of the ergosphere, and the shadow of black hole in this extended situation and look into their variation taking different values Simpson-Visser parameter $\ell$ and non-commutative parameter $b$. We ha…
Model of noncommutative gravity is constructed by means of Fedosov deformation quantization of endomorphism bundle. The fields describing noncommutativity -- symplectic form and symplectic connection -- are dynamical, and the resulting theory is completely coordinate covariant and background independent. Its interpretation in terms of Seiberg-Witten map is provided. Also, new action for ordinary (commutative) general relativity is given, which in the present context appears as a commutative limit of noncommutative theory.
In a recent paper [J. Martin and V. Vennin, Phys. Rev. Lett. 124, 080402 (2020)] it was argued that, for most natural choices, the direct application of the continuous spontaneous localization (CSL) theory to the inflationary case, as it is known to work in non-relativistic laboratory situations, is ruled out by cosmological observational data, thus casting a shadow on models based on CSL theory. We point out that such results are based on the consideration of a rather narrow set of choices for the application of the theory to the cosmological context and that the landscape of open and differe…
Our recent letter "Cosmic Microwave Background Constraints Cast a Shadow On Continuous Spontaneous Localization Models" [arXiv:1906.04405] has recently been criticised in [G. R. Bengochea, G. Leon, P. Pearle, and D. Sudarsky, arXiv:2008.05285, see also arXiv:2006.05313]. In this reply, we explain why the arguments presented in those articles are either incorrect or a confirmation of the robustness of our results.
Boosted and rotated tetrad backgrounds for the Minkowski space are studied in $f(T)$ gravity. We perform Lorentzian perturbations at first order around non-trivial backgrounds and show that some Lorentz modes can exhibit non-trivial dynamics and can propagate in time. This remarkable feature gives evidence of additional mode(s) in the Lorentzian sector which have no precedent in Lorentz-violating modified gravities, however they can cast doubts onto even theoretical viability of these models.
We study the dynamics of D-branes in a smooth time-dependent background. The theory on the branes is a time-dependent non-commutative field theory. We find the metric and fluxes that determine the dual holographic closed string theory. This provides a concrete example of holography in a cosmological setting.
It is increasingly widely believed that at high levels of resolution spacetime geometry may be inherently non-commutative. In this work we introduce an effective mechanism that maps matter fields onto a non-commutative background manifold. The mechanism, which is relevant at high densities in strongly gravitating systems (black holes, early universe) deforms a density field into two distinct fields, one residing dominantly on the lattice tops (hereafter, on-cell) and the other residing dominantly in the inter-lattice regions (hereafter, off-cell). The two fields have different physical and the…
We are studying the dynamics of a one-dimensional field in a non-commutative Euclidean space. The non-commutative space we consider is the one that emerges in the context of three dimensional Euclidean quantum gravity: it is a deformation of the classical Euclidean space and the Planck length plays the role of the deformation parameter. The field is interpreted as a particle which evolves in a quantum background. When the dynamics of the particle is linear, the resulting motion is similar to the standard motion in the classical space. However, non-linear dynamics on the non-commutative space a…
This work is devoted to the exploration of shadow cast and center of mass energy in the background of a 4-dimensional charged Gauss-Bonnet AdS black hole. On investigating particle dynamics, we have examined BH's metric function. Whereas, with the help of null geodesics, we pursue to calculate the celestial coordinates and the shadow radius of the black hole. We have made use of the hawking temperature to study the energy emission rate. Moreover, we have explored the center of mass energy and discussed its characteristics under the influence of spacetime parameters. For a better understanding,…
We explore the shadows and the photon rings casted by black holes in cavity. Placing the observer inside such an isothermal background, we examine the influence of the cavity temperature T_{cav} and the charge Q on the involved optical aspect. After studying the effect of the horizon radius by varying Q, we investigate the thermal behaviors of the black hole shadows in a cavity. For fixed charge values, we find that the shadow radius r_s increases by decreasing T_{cav}. Varying such a temperture, we discuss the associated energy emission rate. After that, we show that the curves in the r_s-T_{…
We propose a generalized star product which deviates from the standard product when the fields at evaluated at different space-time points. This produces no changes in the standard Lagrangian density in non-commutative space-time but produces a change in the cosmological power spectrum. We show that the generalized star product leads to physically consistent results and can fit the observed data on hemispherical anisotropy in the cosmic microwave background radiation.
In this work, we formulate a Non-Commutative (NC) extension of AdS-CFT correspondence that is manifested in the modification of behavior of a holographic superconductor. The noncommutativity is introduced in the model through the NC corrected AdS charged black hole metric developed by Nicolini, Smailagic and Spallucci. First of all we discuss thermodynamic properties of this black hole in Euclidean formalism. In particular, we compute trace of the boundary energy-momentum tensor which, as expected, is non-zero due to the NC scale introduced in the model. Our findings indicate that the non-comm…
There ought to exist a description of quantum field theory which does not depend on an external classical time. To achieve this goal, in a recent paper we have proposed a non-commutative special relativity in which space-time and matter degrees of freedom are treated as classical matrices with arbitrary commutation relations, and a space-time line element is defined using a trace. In the present paper, following the theory of Trace Dynamics, we construct a statistical thermodynamics for the non-commutative special relativity, and show that one arrives at a generalized quantum dynamics in which…
In this work, we study the thermodynamic properties on a non--commutative background via gravitational gauge field potentials. This procedure is accomplished after contracting de Sitter (dS) group, $\mathrm{SO}(4,1)$, with the Poincarè group, $\mathrm{ISO}(3,1)$. Particularly, we focus on a static spherically symmetric black hole. In this manner, we calculate the modified Hawking temperature and the other deformed thermal state quantities, namely, entropy, heat capacity, Helmholtz free energy and pressure. Finally, we also investigate the black hole evaporation process in such a context.
We derive new space-time uncertainty relations (STUR) at the fundamental Planck length $L_P$ from quantum mechanics and general relativity (GR), both in flat and curved backgrounds. Contrary to claims present in the literature, our approach suggests that no minimal uncertainty appears for lengths, but instead for minimal space and four-volumes. Moreover, we derive a maximal absolute value for the energy density. Finally, some considerations on possible commutators among quantum operators implying our STUR are done.
We investigate the geodesic motion of massless test particles in the background of a noncommutative geometry inspired Schwarzschild black hole. The behaviour of effective potential is analysed in the equatorial plane and the possible motions of massless particles (i.e. photons) for different values of impact parameter are discussed accordingly. We have also calculated the frequency shift of photons in this spacetime. Further, the mass parameter of a non-commutative inspired Schwarzschild black hole is computed in terms of the measurable redshift of photons emitted by massive particles moving a…
In the present work we search for a new wormhole solution inspired by noncommutative geometry with the additional condition of allowing conformal Killing vectors (CKV). A special aspect of noncommutative geometry is that it replaces point-like structures of gravitational sources with smeared objects under Gaussian distribution. However, the purpose of this paper is to obtain wormhole solutions with noncommutative geometry as a background where we consider a point-like structure of gravitational object without smearing effect. It is found through this investigation that wormhole solutions exist…
This paper contains the first written exposition of some ideas (announced in a previous survey) on an approach to quantum gravity based on Tomita-Takesaki modular theory and A. Connes non-commutative geometry aiming at the reconstruction of spectral geometries from an operational formalism of states and categories of observables in a covariant theory. Care has been taken to provide a coverage of the relevant background on modular theory, its applications in non-commutative geometry and physics and to the detailed discussion of the main foundational issues raised by the proposal.
We consider a Lorentz violating non-commutating Kerr-like spacetime and studied the superradiance effect and the shadow cast by the back hole. We extensively study the different aspects of the black hole associated with a generalized Kerr-like spacetime metric endowed with the corrections licked with Lorentz violation and non-commutativity effect jointly. We investigate the superradiance effect, deviation of shape, and size of the ergosphere, energy emission rate, and black hole shadow in this generalized situation and study their variation taking different admissible values of Lorentz violati…
After a critical overview of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) applied to compact objects, we propose a texture of Heisenberg uncertainty principle in curved spacetimes (CHUP). CHUP allows to write down physically motivated STUR (spacetime uncertainty relations) in a generic background for a non commutative spacetime in terms of tetrad variables. In order to study possible quantum effects for compact astrophysical objects as white dwarf, neutron stars and black holes, an expression for quantum fluctuations is outlined. As a result, contrary to GUP-based claims, we found no evidence f…
Similarity between the gravitoelectromagnetism and the electromagnetism is discussed. We show that the gravitomagnetic field (similar to the magnetic field) can be equivalent to the non-commutative effect of the momentum sector of the phase space when one maintains only the first order of the non-commutative parameters. This is performed through two approaches. In one approach, by employing the Feynman proof, the existence of a Lorentz-like force in the gravitoelectromagnetism is indicated. The appearance of such a force is subjected to the slow motion and the weak field approximations for sta…
