We define the partition and $n$-point correlation functions for a vertex operator superalgebra on a genus two Riemann surface formed by sewing two tori together. For the free fermion vertex operator superalgebra we obtain a closed formula for the genus two continuous orbifold partition function in terms of an infinite dimensional determinant with entries arising from torus Szegö kernels. We prove that the partition function is holomorphic in the sewing parameters on a given suitable domain and describe its modular properties. Using the bosonized formalism, a new genus two Jacobi product identity is described for the Riemann theta series. We compute and discuss the modular properties of the generating function for all $n$-point functions in terms of a genus two Szegö kernel determinant. We also show that the Virasoro vector one point function satisfies a genus two Ward identity.
We define and compute the continuous orbifold partition function and a generating function for all $n$-point correlation functions for the rank two free fermion vertex operator superalgebra on a genus two Riemann surface formed by self-sewing a torus. The partition function is proportional to an infinite dimensional determinant with entries arising from torus Szego kernel and the generating function is proportional to a finite determinant of genus two Szego kernels. These results follow from an explicit analysis of all torus $n$-point correlation functions for intertwiners of the irreducible m…
We construct an irrational C_2-cofinite vertex operator algebra associatted to a finite dimensional vector space with a nondegenerate skew-symmetric bilinear form. We also classify its equivalence classes of irreducible modules and determine its automorphism group.
We construct a Borcherds Kac-Moody (BKM) superalgebra on which the Conway group Co$_0$ acts faithfully. We show that the BKM algebra is generated by the BRST-closed states in a chiral superstring theory. We use this construction to produce denominator identities for the chiral partition functions of the Conway module $V^{s\natural}$, a supersymmetric $c=12$ chiral conformal field theory whose (twisted) partition functions enjoy moonshine properties and which has automorphism group isomorphic to Co$_0$. In particular, these functions satisfy a genus zero property analogous to that of monstrous …
We consider genus one n-point functions for a vertex operator superalgebra with a real grading. We compute all n-point functions for rank one and rank two fermion vertex operator superalgebras. In the rank two fermion case, we obtain all orbifold n-point functions for a twisted module associated with a continuous automorphism generated by a Heisenberg bosonic state. The modular properties of these orbifold n-point functions are given and we describe a generalization of Fay's trisecant identity for elliptic functions.
We introduce the notion of N=1 supergeometric vertex operator superalgebra motivated by the worldsheet geometry underlying genus-zero, two-dimensional, holomorphic N=1 superconformal field theory. We then show, assuming the convergence of certain projective factors, that the category of such objects is isomorphic to the category of N=1 Neveu-Schwarz vertex operator superalgebras.
The Fock space of $m+p$ bosonic and $n+q$ fermionic quantum oscillators forms a unitarizable module of the general linear superalgebra $gl_{m+p|n+q}$. Its tensor powers decompose into direct sums of infinite dimensional irreducible highest weight $gl_{m+p|n+q}$-modules. We obtain an explicit decomposition of any tensor power of this Fock space into irreducibles, and develop a character formula for the irreducible $gl_{m+p|n+q}$-modules arising in this way.
We introduce a new family of C_2-cofinite N=1 vertex operator superalgebras SW(m), $m \geq 1$, which are natural super analogs of the triplet vertex algebra family W(p), $p \geq 2$, important in logarithmic conformal field theory. We classify irreducible SW(m)-modules and discuss logarithmic modules. We also compute bosonic and fermionic formulas of irreducible SW(m) characters. Finally, we contemplate possible connections between the category of SW(m)-modules and the category of modules for the quantum group U^{small}_q(sl_2), q=e^{\frac{2 πi}{2m+1}}, by focusing primarily on properties of ch…
Classically important examples of Lie superalgebras have been constructed starting from the Witt and Virasoro algebra. In this article we consider Lie superalgebras of Krichever-Novikov type. These algebras are multi-point and higher genus equivalents. The grading in the classical case is replaced by an almost-grading. The almost-grading is determined by a splitting of the set of points were poles are allowed into two disjoint subsets. With respect to a fixed splitting, or equivalently with respect to an almost-grading, it is shown that there is up to rescaling and equivalence a unique non-tri…
Let $V$ be a vertex operator superalgebra with the natural order 2 automorphism $σ$. Under suitable conditions on $V$, the $σ$-fixed subspace $V_{\bar 0}$ is a vertex operator algebra and the category $C_{V_{\bar 0}}$ of $V_{\bar 0}$-modules is modular tensor category. In this paper, we prove that $C_{V_{\bar 0}}$ is a fermionic modular tensor category and the Müger centralizer $C_{V_{\bar 0}}^0$ of the fermion in $C_{V_{\bar 0}}$ is generated by the irreducible $V_{\bar 0}$-submodules of the $V$-modules. In particular, $C_{V_{\bar 0}}^0$ is a super-modular tensor category and $C_{V_{\bar 0}}$…

In this paper we classify, under certain restrictions, all homogeneous conformal subalgebras $\goth L$ of a lattice vertex superalgebra $V_Λ$ corresponding to an integer lattice $Λ$. We require that $\goth L$ is graded by an almost finite root system $Δ\subset Λ$ and that $\goth L$ is stable under the action of the Heisenberg conformal algebra $\goth H\subset V_Λ$. We also describe the root systems of these subalgebras. The key ingredient of this classification is an infinite type conformal algebra $\goth K$ obtained by the Tits-Kantor-Koeher construction from a certain Jordan conformal triple…
We introduce certain correlation functions (graded $q$--traces) associated to vertex operator algebras and superalgebras which we refer to as $n$--point functions. These naturally arise in the studies of representations of Lie algebras of differential operators on the circle \cite{Le1}--\cite{Le2}, \cite{M}. We investigate their properties and consider the corresponding graded $q$--traces in parallel with the passage from genus 0 to genus 1 conformal field theory. By using the vertex operator algebra theory we analyze in detail correlation functions in some particular cases. We obtain elliptic…
We determine fusion rules (dimensions of the space of intertwining operators) among simple modules for the vertex operator algebra obtained as an even part of the symplectic fermionic vertex operator superalgebra. By using these fusion rules we show that the fusion algebra of this vertex operator algebra is isomorphic to the group algebra of the Klein four group over Z.
We consider exceptional vertex operator algebras and vertex operator superalgebras with the property that particular Casimir vectors constructed from the primary vectors of lowest conformal weight are Virasoro descendents of the vacuum. We show that the genus one partition function and characters for simple ordinary modules must satisfy modular linear differential equations. We show the rationality of the central charge and module lowest weights, modularity of solutions, the dimension of each graded space is a rational function of the central charge and that the lowest weight primaries generat…
We define on the universal enveloping superalgebra of osp(1|2n) a nonstandard adjoint action, endowing it with a module structure. This allows, in particular, to construct a bosonic operator which anticommutes with all the fermionic generators and which appears to be the square root of a certain Casimir operator.
The first part of this paper provides a new formulation of chiral differential operators (CDOs) in terms of global geometric quantities. The main result is a recipe to define all sheaves of CDOs on a smooth cs-manifold; its ingredients consist of an affine connection and an even 3-form that trivializes the first Pontrjagin form. With the connection fixed, two suitable 3-forms define isomorphic sheaves of CDOs if and only if their difference is exact. Moreover, conformal structures are in one-to-one correspondence with even 1-forms that trivialize the first Chern form. Applying our work in the …
