Coexisting patterns of population oscillations: the degenerate Neimark Sacker bifurcation as a generic mechanism

We investigate a population dynamics model that exhibits a Neimark Sacker bifurcation with a period that is naturally close to 4. Beyond the bifurcation, the period becomes soon locked at 4 due to a strong resonance, and a second attractor of period 2 emerges, which coexists with the first attractor over a considerable parameter range. A linear stability analysis and a numerical investigation of the second attractor reveal that the bifurcations producing the second attractor occur naturally in this type of system.

Flip and Neimark-Sacker Bifurcations in a Coupled Logistic Map System

In this paper we consider a system of strongly coupled logistic maps involving two parameters. We classify and investigate the stability of its fixed points. Rich dynamics and anticontrol of extinction in a prey-predator system

This paper reveals some new and rich dynamics of a two-dimensional prey-predator system and to anticontrol the extinction of one of the species. For a particular value of the bifurcation parameter, one of the system variable dynamics is going to extinct, while another remains chaotic. To prevent the extinction, a simple anticontrol algorithm is applied so that the system orbits can escape from the vanishing trap. We study the dynamics of the five-parameter quadratic family of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms of R^3. This family is the unfolded normal form for a bifurcation of a fixed point with a triple-one multiplier and also is the general form of a quadratic three-dimensional map with a quadratic inverse. Chaotic dynamics in two-dimensional Rayleigh-Bénard convection

We investigate the origin of various convective patterns using bifurcation diagrams that are constructed using direct numerical simulations. We perform two-dimensional pseudospectral simulations for a Prandtl number 6.8 fluid that is confined in a box with aspect ratio $Γ= 2\sqrt{2}$.
