Algebraic stability and degree growth of monomial maps and polynomial maps

Given a rational monomial map, we consider the question of finding a toric variety on which it is algebraically stable. We give conditions for when such variety does or does not exist. We also obtain several precise estimates of the degree sequences of monomial maps on $¶^n$. Finally, we characterize polynomial maps which are algebraically stable on $(¶^1)^n$.

On Degree Growth and Stabilization of Three Dimensional Monomial Maps

In this paper, we develop several tools to study the degree growth and stabilization of monomial maps. Using these tools, we can classify semisimple three dimensional monomial maps by their dynamical behavior.

Dynamical invariants of monomial correspondences

We focus on various dynamical invariants associated to toric correspondences, using algebraic geometry or arithmetic. We find a formula for the dynamical degrees, relate the exponential growth of the degree sequences with a strict log-concavity condition on the dynamical degrees and compute the asymptotic ratio of the growth of heights of points of such correspondences.

Degree growth of monomial maps and McMullen's polytope algebra

We compute all dynamical degrees of monomial maps by interpreting them as mixed volumes of polytopes. By exploiting further the isomorphism between the polytope algebra of P. McMullen and the universal cohomology of complete toric varieties, we construct invariant positive cohomology classes when the dynamical degrees have no resonance.

Degree-growth of monomial maps

For projectivizations of rational maps Bellon and Viallet defined the notion of algebraic entropy using the exponential growth rate of the degrees of iterates. On the Arithmetic Dynamics of Monomial Maps

We generalized several results for the arithmetic dynamics of monomial maps, including Silverman's conjectures on height growth, dynamical Mordell-Lang conjecture, and dynamical Manin-Mumford conjecture. These results are originally known for monomial maps on algebraic tori. We extend the results to arbitrary toric varieties.

Multistationarity in the space of total concentrations for systems that admit a monomial parametrization

We apply tools from real algebraic geometry to the problem of multistationarity of chemical reaction networks. A particular focus is on the case of reaction networks whose steady states admit a monomial parametrization.
