We construct superconformal gauged sigma models with extended rigid supersymmetry in three dimensions. Those with N>4 have necessarily flat targets, but the models with N \leq 4 admit non-flat targets, which are cones with appropriate Sasakian base manifolds. Superconformal symmetry also requires that the three dimensional spacetimes admit conformal Killing spinors which we examine in detail. We present explicit results for the gauged superconformal theories for N=1,2. In particular, we gauge a suitable subgroup of the isometry group of the cone in a superconformal way. We finally show how these sigma models can be obtained from Poincare supergravity. This connection is shown to necessarily involve a subset of the auxiliary fields of supergravity for N \geq 2.
We develop superspace techniques to construct general off-shell N=1,2,3,4 superconformal sigma-models in three space-time dimensions. The most general N=3 and N=4 superconformal sigma-models are constructed in terms of N=2 chiral superfields. Several superspace proofs of the folklore statement that N=3 supersymmetry implies N=4 are presented both in the on-shell and off-shell settings. We also elaborate on (super)twistor realisations for (super)manifolds on which the three-dimensional N-extended superconformal groups act transitively and which include Minkowski space as a subspace.
We consider a gauged linear sigma model in two dimensions with Grassmann odd chiral superfields. We investigate the Konishi anomaly of this model and find out the condition for realization of superconformal symmetry on the world-sheet. When this condition is satisfied, the theory is expected to flow into conformal theory in the infrared limit. We construct superconformal currents explicitly and study some properties of this world-sheet theory from the point of view of conformal field theories.
We study dualities in off-shell 4D N = 2 supersymmetric sigma-models, using the projective superspace approach. These include (i) duality between the real O(2n) and polar multiplets; and (ii) polar-polar duality. We demonstrate that the dual of any superconformal sigma-model is superconformal. Since N = 2 superconformal sigma-models (for which target spaces are hyperkahler cones) formulated in terms of polar multiplets are naturally associated with Kahler cones (which are target spaces for N = 1 superconformal sigma-models), polar-polar duality generates a transformation between different Kahl…
Rigidly superconformal sigma models in higher than two dimensions are constructed. These models rely on the existence of conformal Killing spinors on the $p+1$ dimensional worldvolume $(p\le 5)$, and homothetic conformal Killing vectors in the $d$--dimensional target space. In the bosonic case, substituting into the action a particular form of the target space metric admitting such Killing vectors, we obtain an action with manifest worldvolume conformal symmetry, which describes the coupling of $d-1$ scalars to a conformally flat metric on the worldvolume. We also construct gauged sigma models…
A range of bosonic models can be expressed as (sometimes generalized) $σ$-models, with equations of motion coming from a selfduality constraint. We show that in D=2, this is easily extended to supersymmetric cases, in a superspace approach. In particular, we find that the configurations of fields of a superconformal $\mathfrak{G}/\mathfrak{H}$ coset models which satisfy some selfduality constraint are automatically solutions to the equations of motion of the model. Finally, we show that symmetric space $σ$-models can be seen as infinite-dimensional $\tfG/\tfH$ models constrained by a selfduali…
For two families of four-dimensional off-shell N = 2 supersymmetric nonlinear sigma-models constructed originally in projective superspace, we develop their formulation in terms of N = 1 chiral superfields. Specifically, these theories are: (i) sigma-models on cotangent bundles T*M of arbitrary real analytic Kaehler manifolds M; (ii) general superconformal sigma-models described by weight-one polar supermultiplets. Using superspace techniques, we obtain a universal expression for the holomorphic symplectic two-form ω^{(2,0)} which determines the second supersymmetry transformation and is assoc…
Quaternion Kahler manifolds are known to be the target spaces for matter hypermultiplets coupled to N=2 supergravity. It is also known that there is a one-to-one correspondence between 4n-dimensional quaternion Kahler manifolds and those 4(n+1)-dimensional hyperkahler spaces which are the target spaces for rigid superconformal hypermultiplets (such spaces are called hyperkahler cones). In this paper we present a projective-superspace construction to generate a hyperkahler cone M^{4(n+1)}_H of dimension 4(n+1) from a 2n-dimensional real analytic Kahler-Hodge manifold M^{2n}_K. The latter emerge…
Building on the five-dimensional constructions in hep-th/0601177, we provide a unified description of four-dimensional N = 2 superconformal off-shell multiplets in projective superspace, including a realization in terms of N = 1 superfields. In particular, superconformal polar multiplets are consistently defined for the first time. We present new 4D N = 2 superconformal sigma-models described by polar multiplets. Such sigma-models realize general superconformal couplings in projective superspace, but involve an infinite tale of auxiliary N = 1 superfields. The auxiliaries should be eliminated …
In these lecture notes, I review the ``linear sigma model" approach to (0,2) string vacua. My aim is to provide the reader with a toolkit for studying a very broad class of (0,2) superconformal field theories with the requisite properties to be candidate string vacua. These lectures were delivered at the 1994 Trieste Summer School.
We examine the string dual of the recently constructed $\mathcal{N}=6$ superconformal Chern-Simons theory of Aharony, Bergman, Jafferis and Maldacena (ABJM theory). We focus in particular on the $SU(2)\times SU(2)$ sector. We find a sigma-model limit in which the resulting sigma-model is two Landau-Lifshitz models added together. We consider a Penrose limit for which we can approach the $SU(2)\times SU(2)$ sector. Finally, we find a new Giant Magnon solution in the $SU(2)\times SU(2)$ sector corresponding to one magnon in each $SU(2)$. We put these results together to find the full magnon disp…
We investigate the relation between N=(2,2) superconformal Lie group WZNW models and Lie supergroup WZNW models. The B-twist of an exactly marginal perturbation of the world-sheet superconformal sigma model is the supergroup model. Moreover, the superconformal currents are expressed in terms of Lie superalgebra currents in the twisted theory. As applications, we find protected sectors and boundary actions in the supergroup sigma model. A special example is the relation between string theory on AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 in the RNS formalism and the U(1,1|2) x U(1|1) x U(1|1) supergroup WZNW model.
In addition to superconformal symmetry, (1,1) supersymmetric two-dimensional sigma models on special holonomy manifolds have extra symmetries that are in one-to-one correspondence with the covariantly constant forms on these manifolds. The superconformal algebras extended by these symmetries close as W-algebras, i.e. they have field-dependent structure functions. It is shown that it is not possible to write down cohomological equations for potential quantum anomalies when the structure functions are field-dependent. In order to do this it is necessary to linearise the algebras by treating comp…
We study the quantum mechanical sigma model arising in the discrete light-cone quantisation of N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. The target space is a certain torus fibration over a scale-invariant special Kahler manifold. We show that the expected SU(1,1|4) light-cone superconformal invariance of the N=4 theory emerges in a limit where the volume of the fibre goes to zero and give an explicit construction of the generators. The construction given here yields a large new family of superconformal quantum mechanical models with SU(1,1|4) invariance.
We study the (2,0) superconformal theories in six dimensions, which arise from the low-energy limit of k coincident 5-branes, using their discrete light-cone formulation as a superconformal quantum mechanical sigma model. We analyze the realization of the superconformal symmetry in the quantum mechanics, and the realization of primary operators. As an example we compute the spectrum of chiral primary states in symmetric Spin(5)_R representations. To facilitate the analysis we introduce and briefly discuss a new class of Lorentz non-invariant theories, which flow in the IR to the (2,0) supercon…
Recent work has related the equivariant elliptic genera of sigma models with K3 surface target to a vertex operator superalgebra that realizes moonshine for Conway's group. Motivated by this we consider conditions under which a self-dual vertex operator superalgebra may be identified with the bulk Hilbert space of a superconformal field theory. After presenting a classification result for self-dual vertex operator superalgebras with central charge up to 12 we describe several examples of close relationships with bulk superconformal field theories, including those arising from sigma models for …
We present new non-Ricci-flat Kahler metrics with U(N) and O(N) isometries as target manifolds of superconformally invariant sigma models with an anomalous dimension. They are so-called Ricci solitons, special solutions to a Ricci-flow equation. These metrics explicitly contain the anomalous dimension and reduce to Ricci-flat Kahler metrics on the canonical line bundles over certain coset spaces in the limit of vanishing anomalous dimension.
We describe three analytic classes of infinitely many AdS_d supersymmetric solutions of massive IIA supergravity, for d = 7, 5, 4. The three classes are related by simple universal maps. For example, the AdS_7 x M_3 solutions (where M_3 is topologically S^3) are mapped to AdS_5 x Sigma_2 x M'_3, where Sigma_2 is a Riemann surface of genus g >= 2 and the metric on M'_3 is obtained by distorting M_3 in a certain way. The solutions can have localized D6 or O6 sources, as well as an arbitrary number of D8-branes. The AdS_7 case (previously known only numerically) is conjecturally dual to an NS5-D6…
We show that the superconformal symmetries of the (1,1) sigma model decompose into a set of more refined symmetries when the target space admits projectors $P_{\pm}$, and the orthogonal complements $Q_{\pm}$, covariantly constant with respect to the two natural torsionful connections $\nabla^{(\pm)}$ that arise in the sigma model. Surprisingly the new symmetries still close to form copies of the superconformal algebra, even when the projectors are not integrable, so one is able to define a superconformal theory not associated with a particular geometry, but rather with non-integrable projector…
We study N=2 nonlinear two dimensional sigma models with boundaries and their massive generalizations (the Landau-Ginzburg models). These models are defined over either Kahler or bihermitian target space manifolds. We determine the most general local N=2 superconformal boundary conditions (D-branes) for these sigma models. In the Kahler case we reproduce the known results in a systematic fashion including interesting results concerning the coisotropic A-type branes. We further analyse the N=2 superconformal boundary conditions for sigma models defined over a bihermitian manifold with torsion. …
In d=2+1 dimensions, there exist field theories which are non-relativistic and superconformal. These theories describe two species of anyons, whose spins differ by 1/2, interacting in a harmonic trap. We compute the dimensions of chiral primary operators. These operators receive large anomalous dimensions which are related to the unusual angular momentum properties of anyons. Surprisingly, we find that the dimensions of some chiral primary operators violate the unitarity bound and we trace this to the fact that the associated wavefunctions become non-normalisable. We also study BPS non-perturb…
Based on the structure of the three-dimensional superconformal algebra we show that every irreducible ${\mathcal N}=6$ three-dimensional superconformal theory containes exactly one conserved U(1)-symmetry current in the stress tensor supermultiplet and that superconformal symmetry of every ${\mathcal N}=7$ superconformal theory is in fact enhanced to ${\mathcal N}=8$. Moreover, an irreducible ${\cal N}=8$ superconformal theory does not have any global symmetries. The first observation explains why all known examples of ${\mathcal N}=6$ superconformal theories have a global abelian symmetry.
We initiate the classification of unitary superconformal defects in unitary superconformal field theories (SCFT) of diverse spacetime dimensions $3\leq d \leq 6$. Our method explores general constraints from the defect superconformal symmetry, unitarity, as well as consistency conditions of local bulk-defect couplings. Such features are common to all superconformal defects regardless of any Lagrangian description. In particular, modified Ward identities of conserved currents in the presence of the defect induce a distinguished set of conformal primary operators on the defect worldvolume, which…
Three-dimensional N-extended superconformal symmetry is studied within the superspace formalism. A superconformal Killing equation is derived and its solutions are classified in terms of supertranslations, dilations, Lorentz transformations, R-symmetry transformations and special superconformal transformations. Superconformal group is then identified with a supermatrix group, OSp(N|2,R), as expected from the analysis on simple Lie superalgebras. In general, due to the invariance under supertranslations and special superconformal transformations, superconformally invariant n-point functions red…
We explore the geometry of the superconformal moduli of the NSR superstring theory in order to construct the consistent sigma-model for the NSR strings, free of picture-changing ambiguities. The sigma-model generating functional is constructed by the integration over the bosonic and anticommuting moduli, corresponding to insertions of the vertex operators in scattering amplitudes. In particular, the integration over the bosonic moduli results in the appearance of picture-changing operators for the b-c system. Important example of the b-c pictures involves the unintegrated and integrated forms …
Superconformal symmetry in six-dimensions is analyzed in terms of coordinate transformations on superspace. A superconformal Killing equation is derived and its solutions are identified in terms of supertranslations, dilations, Lorentz transformations, R-symmetry transformations and special superconformal transformations. The full superconformal symmetry, which is shown to form the group OSp(2,6|N), is possible only if the supersymmetry algebra has N spinorial generators of the same chirality, corresponding to (N,0) supersymmetry. The R-symmetry group is then Sp(N) and the corresponding supers…
In this note we discuss several properties of the Schur index of N=2 superconformal theories in four dimensions. In particular, we study modular properties of this index under SL(2,Z) transformations of its parameters.
We identify a simple mechanism by which H-flux satisfying the modified Bianchi identity arises in garden-variety (0,2) gauged linear sigma models. Taking suitable limits leads to effective gauged linear sigma models with Green-Schwarz anomaly cancellation. We test the quantum-consistency of a class of such effective theories by constructing an off-shell superconformal algebra, providing evidence that these models run to good CFTs in the deep IR.
Classification of N=4 superconformal symmetries in two dimensions is re-examined. It is proposed that apart from SU(2) and $SU(2)\times SU(2)\times U(1)$ their Kac-Moody symmetry can also be $SU(2)\times(U(1))^4$. These superconformal symmetries and corresponding algebras are named small, large and middle ones respectively. Operator product expansions for the middle algebra are derived. Complete free field realizations of large and middle superconformal symmetries are obtained.
We propose an off-shell construction of three-dimensional N = 3 and N = 4 superconformal Abelian Chern-Simons theories in the projective superspace formalism. We also construct coupling terms among the gauge fields and matter hypermultiplets.
We show that an infinite family of N=6 d=3 superconformal Chern-Simons-matter theories has hidden N=8 superconformal symmetry and hidden parity on the quantum level. This family of theories is different from the one found by Aharony, Bergman, Jafferis and Maldacena, as well as from the theories constructed by Bagger and Lambert, and Gustavsson. We also test several conjectural dualities between BLG theories and ABJ theories by comparing superconformal indices of these theories.
We introduce a generalization of the S^2 x S^1 superconformal index where background gauge fields with magnetic flux are coupled to the global symmetries of the theory. This allows one to gauge a global symmetry at the level of the index, which we use to show the matching of the superconformal index for N=2 SQED with N_f flavors and its mirror dual.
We study global subalgebras of superconformal algebras in two dimensions and their unitary representations. Global superconformal multiplets are decomposed into conformal multiplets using Racah-Speiser algorithm, revealing many essential aspects of superconformal theories such as stress-energy tensor, conserved current, supersymmetric deformation and supersymmetry enhancement. Character formulae for the representations are presented. We further find a collection of conserved charges that are $k$-forms under the R-symmetry, which must be part of the super Virasoro algebra with $\mathcal{N} \geq…
We review recent progress in the construction and classification of six-dimensional (1,0) superconformal models with non-abelian tensor fields. Here we solve the generalized Jacobi identities which are required for consistency of the non-abelian vector/tensor gauge system and we present a large class of explicit examples.
For general N=5 and N=6 superconformal field theories in three dimensions, we compute the three-point correlation functions of the supercurrent multiplets. In each case, N=5 and N=6, the functional form of this correlator is uniquely fixed modulo an overall coefficient which is related, by superconformal Ward identities, to the parameter in the two-point function of the supercurrent. The structure of the correlation functions obtained is consistent with the property that every N=5 superconformal field theory, considered as a special N=4 theory, is invariant under the mirror map.
We prove explicitly that the general D=3, N=4 Chern-Simons-matter (CSM) theory has a complete OSp(4|4) superconformal symmetry, and construct the corresponding conserved currents. We re-derive the OSp(5|4) superconformal currents in the general N=5 theory as special cases of the OSp(4|4) currents by enhancing the supersymmetry from N=4 to N=5. The closure of the full OSp(4|4) superconformal algebra is verified explicitly.
A superconformal generalization of Dirac's formalism for manifest conformal covariance is presented and applied to the free (2,0) tensor multiplet field theory in six dimensions. A graded symmetric superfield, defined on a supercone in a higher-dimensional superspace is introduced. This superfield transforms linearly under the transformations of the supergroup OSp(8*|4), which is the superconformal group of the six-dimensional (2,0) theory. We find the relationship between the new superfield and the conventional (2,0) superfields in six dimensions and show that the implied superconformal trans…
We analyze various brane configurations corresponding to field theories in three, four and five dimensions. We find brane configurations which correspond to three dimensional N=2 and four dimensional N=1 supersymmetric QCD theories with quartic superpotentials, in which what appear to be ``hidden parameters'' play an important role. We discuss the construction of five dimensional N=1 supersymmetric gauge theories and superconformal fixed points using branes, which leads to new five dimensional N=1 superconformal field theories. The same five dimensional theories are also used, in a surprising …
We systematically analyze the operator content of unitary superconformal multiplets in $d > 3$ spacetime dimensions. We present a simple, general, and efficient algorithm that generates all of these multiplets by correctly eliminating possible null states. The algorithm is conjectural, but passes a vast web of consistency checks. We apply it to tabulate a large variety of superconformal multiplets. In particular, we classify and construct all multiplets that contain conserved currents or free fields, which play an important role in superconformal field theories (SCFTs). Some currents that are …
We give a complete classification of the real forms of simple nonlinear superconformal algebras (SCA) and quasi-superconformal algebras (QSCA) and present a unified realization of these algebras with simple symmetry groups. This classification is achieved by establishing a correspondence between simple nonlinear QSCA's and SCA's and quaternionic and super-quaternionic symmetric spaces of simple Lie groups and Lie supergroups, respectively. The unified realization involves a dimension zero boson (dilaton), dimension one symmetry currents and dimension 1/2 free bosons for QSCA'a and dimension 1/…
Representations of four-dimensional superconformal groups on harmonic superfields are discussed. It is shown how various short representations can be obtained by parabolic induction. It is also shown that such short multiplets may admit several descriptions as superfields on different superspaces. In particular, this is the case for on-shell massless superfields. This allows a description of short representations as explicit products of fundamental fields. Superconformal transformations of analytic fields in real harmonic superspaces are given explicitly.
We study the low-energy dynamics of semi-classical vortex strings living above Argyres-Douglas superconformal field theories. The worldsheet theory of the string is shown to be a deformation of the CP^N model which flows in the infra-red to a superconformal minimal model. The scaling dimensions of chiral primary operators are determined and the dimensions of the associated relevant perturbations on the worldsheet and in the four dimensional bulk are found to agree. The vortex string thereby provides a map between the A-series of N=2 superconformal theories in two and four dimensions.
Recently, Kim and Imamura and Yokoyama derived an exact formula for superconformal indices in three-dimensional field theories. Using their results, we prove analytically the equality of superconformal indices in some U(1)-gauge group theories related by the mirror symmetry. The proofs are based on the well known identities of the theory of $q$-special functions. We also suggest the general index formula taking into account the $U(1)_J$ global symmetry present for abelian theories.
Making use of the exact solutions of the $N=2$ supersymmetric gauge theories we construct new classes of superconformal field theories (SCFTs) by fine-tuning the moduli parameters and bringing the theories to critical points. SCFTs we have constructed represent universality classes of the 4-dimensional $N=2$ SCFTs.
There is a complex conformal transformation, which maps the $D$ - dimensional real Minkowski space on a bounded set in the $D$ - dimensional complex vector space. It generalizes the Cayley map from $D=1$ dimensions to higher space-time dimensions. This transformation provides a very convenient coordinate picture for Conformal Field Theories called compact picture. In this paper we extend the compact picture coordinates for superconformal field theories in four space-time dimensions.
We solve the Killing spinor equations of 6-dimensional (1,0) superconformal theories which include hyper-multiplets in all cases. We show that the solutions preserve 1,2,3,4 and 8 supersymmetries. We find models with self-dual string solitons which are smooth and supported by instantons with an arbitrary gauge group, and 3-brane solitons as expected from the M-brane intersection rules.
We review aspects of superconformal indices in three dimension. Three dimensional superconformal indices can be exactly computed by using localization method including monopole contribution, and can be applied to provide evidences for mirror duality, AdS_4/CFT_3 correspondence and global symmetry enhancement of strongly coupled gauge theories. After reviewing, we discuss the possibility of global symmetry enhancement in a finite rank of gauge group.
We show how three-dimensional superconformal theories for any number N <= 8 of supersymmetries can be obtained by taking a conformal limit of the corresponding three-dimensional gauged supergravity models. The superconformal theories are characterized by an embedding tensor that satisfies a linear and quadratic constraint. We analyze these constraints and give the general solutions for all cases. We find new N = 4,5 superconformal theories based on the exceptional Lie superalgebras F(4), G(3) and D(2|1;α). Using the supergravity connection we discuss which massive deformations to expect. As an…
We investigate the nonlinear realization of spontaneously broken N=2 superconformal symmetry in 4 dimensions. We particularly study Nambu-Goldstone degrees of freedom for the partial breaking of N=2 superconformal symmetry down to N=1 super-Poincar{é} symmetry, where we get the chiral NG multiplet of dilaton and the vector NG multiplet of NG fermion of broken Q-supersymmetry. Evaluating the covariant differentials and supervielbeins for the chiral as well as the full superspace, we obtain the nonlinear effective lagrangians.
Effective actions are derived for (2,0) and (2,1) superstrings by studying the corresponding sigma-models. The geometry is a generalisation of Kahler geometry involving torsion and the field equations imply that the curvature with torsion is self-dual in four dimensions, or has SU(n,m) holonomy in other dimensions. The Yang-Mills fields are self-dual in four dimensions and satisfy a form of the Uhlenbeck-Yau equation in higher dimensions. In four dimensions with Euclidean signature, there is a hyperkahler structure and the sigma-model has (4,1) supersymmetry, while for signature (2,2) there is…
A list of superconformal chiral operator product expansion algebras with quadratic nonlinearity in two dimensions is completed on the basis of the known classification of little conformal Lie superalgebras. In addition to the previously known cases and the constructed in our previous paper exceptional $N=8$ superalgebra associated with $F(4)$, a novel exceptional $N=7$ superconformal algebra associated with $G(3)$ is found, as well as a whole family of superalgebras containing affine $\widehat{su}_2 \oplus \widehat{usp}_{2N}$. A classification scheme for quasisuperconformal algebras is also ou…
Within the framework of six-dimensional ${\cal N}=(1,0)$ conformal supergravity, we introduce new off-shell multiplets ${\cal O}{}^{*}(n)$, where $n=3,4,\dots,$ and use them to construct higher-rank extensions of the linear multiplet action. The ${\cal O}{}^{*}(n)$ multiplets may be viewed as being dual to well-known superconformal ${\cal O}(n)$ multiplets. We provide prepotential formulations for the ${\cal O}(n)$ and ${\cal O}{}^{*}(n)$ multiplets coupled to conformal supergravity. For every ${\cal O}{}^{*}(n)$ multiplet, we construct a higher derivative invariant which is superconformal on …
The fermionic NSR string possesses a hidden N = 2 superconformal algebra on the world-sheet. In this work, we show how to use an isomorphism of this algebra, the so-called spectral flow, for construction of a subspace of physical states of the string, on which space-time supersymmetry acts. This construction is an alternative to the GSO-projection in string theory.
We study gauged linear sigma models for noncompact Calabi-Yau manifolds described as a line bundle on a hypersurface in a projective space. This gauge theory has a unique phase if the Fayet-Iliopoulos parameter is positive, while there exist two distinct phases if the parameter is negative. We find four massless effective theories in the infrared limit, which are related to each other under the Calabi-Yau/Landau-Ginzburg correspondence and the topology change. In the T-dual theory, on the other hand, we obtain two types of exact massless effective theories: One is the sigma model on a newly ob…
The spinorial geometry method of solving Killing spinor equations is reviewed as it applies to 6-dimensional (1,0) supergravity. In particular, it is explained how the method is used to identify both the fractions of supersymmetry preserved by and the geometry of all supersymmetric backgrounds. Then two applications are described to systems that exhibit superconformal symmetry. The first is the proof that some 6-dimensional black hole horizons are locally isometric to $AdS_3\times Σ^3$, where $Σ^3$ is diffeomeorphic to $S^3$. The second one is a description of all supersymmetric solutions of 6…
Using the off-shell formulation for ${\cal N}=2$ conformal supergravity in four dimensions, we describe superconformal higher-spin multiplets of conserved currents in a curved background and present their associated unconstrained gauge prepotentials. The latter are used to construct locally superconformal chiral actions, which are demonstrated to be gauge invariant in arbitrary conformally flat backgrounds. The main ${\cal N}=2$ results are then generalised to the ${\cal N}$-extended case. We also present the gauge-invariant field strengths for on-shell massless higher-spin ${\cal N}=2$ superm…
We find a simple relation between two-dimensional BPS N=2 superconformal blocks and bosonic Virasoro conformal blocks, which allows us to analyze the crossing equations for BPS 4-point functions in unitary (2,2) superconformal theories numerically with semidefinite programming. We constrain gaps in the non-BPS spectrum through the operator product expansion of BPS operators, in ways that depend on the moduli of exactly marginal deformations through chiral ring coefficients. In some cases, our bounds on the spectral gaps are observed to be saturated by free theories, by N=2 Liouville theory, an…
