From the recent work of the Evolution and Seismic Tools Activity (ESTA, Lebreton et al. 2006; Monteiro et al. 2008), whose Task 2 is devoted to compare pulsational frequencies computed using most of the pulsational codes available in the asteroseismic community, the dependence of the theoretical frequencies with non-physical choices is now quite well fixed. To ensure that the accuracy of the computed frequencies is of the same order of magnitude or better than the observational errors, some requirements in the equilibrium models and the numerical resolutions of the pulsational equations must be followed. In particular, we have verified the numerical accuracy obtained with the Saclay seismic model, which is used to study the solar g-mode region (60 to 140$μ$Hz). We have compared the results coming from the Aarhus adiabatic pulsation code (ADIPLS), with the frequencies computed with the Granada Code (GraCo) taking into account several possible choices. We have concluded that the present equilibrium models and the use of the Richardson extrapolation ensure an accuracy of the order of $0.01 μHz$ in the determination of the frequencies, which is quite enough for our purposes.
The contour method is a new approach to calculating the non-adiabatic pulsation frequencies of stars. These frequencies can be found by solving for the complex roots of a characteristic equation constructed from the linear non-adiabatic stellar pulsation equations. A complex-root solver requires an initial trial frequency for each non adiabatic root. A standard method for obtaining initial trial frequencies is to use a star's adiabatic pulsation frequencies, but this method can fail to converge to non-adiabatic roots, especially as the growth and/or damping rate of the pulsations becomes large…
We report the frequency analysis of a known roAp star, HD 86181 (TIC 469246567), with new inferences from TESS data. We derive the rotation frequency to be $ν_{rot}$ = 0.48753 $\pm$ 0.00001d$^{-1}$. The pulsation frequency spectrum is rich, consisting of two doublets and one quintuplet, which we interpret to be oblique pulsation multiplets from consecutive, high-overtone dipole, quadrupole and dipole modes. The central frequency of the quintuplet is 232.7701d$^{-1}$ (2.694 mHz). The phases of the sidelobes, the pulsation phase modulation, and a spherical harmonic decomposition all show that th…
The search of secondary pulsations is carried out to understand the possible relations among the known parameters of variables of the cluster, NGC 6866. These pulsations arise due to the various ongoing physical phenomena of the variables. Moreover, pulsations of the variables are identified through the visual inspection of their frequency-amplitude distributions. A total of 18 variables among the 28 known variables are showing the secondary pulsation modes. Furthermore, these pulsation modes do not occur for PV, EA, EB, Elliptical and semi-regular. In addition, the field variables seem to be …
RR Lyn is a detached eclipsing binary with a 9.95 d orbit containing two A-stars: one metallic-lined and one possibly metal-poor. We use the light curve from the TESS satellite and two sets of published radial velocity measurements to determine the properties of the system to high precision. We find masses of 1.939 +/- 0.007 and 1.510 +/- 0.003 Msun, and radii of 2.564 +/- 0.019 and 1.613 +/- 0.013 Rsun. After adjusting published effective temperatures upwards by 200 K we find a good agreement with theoretical models for a solar chemical composition and an age of 1 Gyr, and a distance slightly…

Spectroscopic Pulsational Frequency and Mode Determination of the $γ$ Doradus Star HD 189631
We present TESS photometry of the triple star system V1031 Ori (AB)C, which exhibits short-period oscillations superimposed on an eclipsing light curve. The high-quality data were analyzed in detail and combined with the published spectroscopic measurements to obtain the fundamental stellar parameters of the program target. The masses and radii of the eclipsing pair (AB) were determined to about 0.5 \% and 0.7 \% precision, respectively. We found 23 significant frequencies in two ranges of $<$ 2 day$^{-1}$ and 10.9$-$12.7 day$^{-1}$ from the eclipse-subtracted residuals. Among them, sixteen in…
EL CVn-type eclipsing binaries are composed of a massive A-type main-sequence primary star and a hotter B-type secondary star. This paper presents the time-series photometric and asteroseismic results of the EL CVn-type star 1SWASP J024743.37-251549.2. Well-defined eclipsing light curves were constructed by using the novel high-cadence $BV$ data and archival {\it TESS} data, and the physical parameters of each binary component were derived by modeling the light curves. Multiple frequency analysis was performed to investigate the pulsation properties of the binary components. A reliable signal …
V453 Cyg is an eclipsing binary containing 14 Msun and 11 Msun stars in an eccentric short-period orbit. We have discovered $β$ Cep-type pulsations in this system using TESS data. We identify seven significant pulsation frequencies, between 2.37 and 10.51 d$^{-1}$, in the primary star. These include six frequencies which are separated by yet significantly offset from harmonics of the orbital frequency, indicating they are tidally-perturbed modes. We have determined the physical properties of the system to high precision: V453 Cyg A is the first $β$ Cep pulsator with a precise mass measurement.…
We collected a sample of ten hitherto unidentified SPB stars with the aim of describing their pulsational properties and identifying pulsational modes. Photometric time series data from various surveys were collected and analyzed using diverse frequency search algorithms. We calculated astrophysical parameters and investigated the location of our sample stars in the \logTeff\ versus \logl\ diagram. Current pulsational models were calculated and used for the identification of pulsational modes in our sample stars. An extensive grid of stellar models along with their g-mode eigenfrequencies was …
We present the absolute properties of the double-lined eclipsing binary KIC 6206751 exhibiting multiperiodic pulsations. The ${\it Kepler}$ light curve of this system was simultaneously solved with the radial-velocity data given by Matson et al. (2017). The results indicate that the binary star is a short-period semi-detached system with fundamental parameters of $M_1$ = 1.66$\pm$0.04 M$_\odot$, $M_2$ = 0.215$\pm$0.006 M$_\odot$, $R_1$ = 1.53$\pm$0.02 R$_\odot$, $R_2$ = 1.33$\pm$0.02 R$_\odot$, $L_1$ = 5.0$\pm$0.6 L$_\odot$, and $L_2$ = 0.96$\pm$ 0.09 L$_\odot$. We applied multiple frequency a…
Hydrogen atmosphere pulsating white dwarfs, also known as DAV stars, are the most abundant type of pulsating white dwarfs. High-temperature DAV stars exhibit in general a small number of pulsation modes and stable frequencies. G132-12 is one of the pulsating hydrogen atmosphere white dwarf stars which lies close to the blue edge of the instability strip. Previous researches reported that G132-12 might have only one pulsation mode with the period of 212.69 s. To study the pulsation properties of G132-12 in detail, we carried out a bi-site observation campaign in October 2019. Time series photom…
We present a new eclipsing binary (EB) showing multiperiodic oscillations using the first three sectors of {\it TESS} photometry. The eclipse and pulsation light curves of TIC 309658221 were modeled using an iterative method to obtain a consistent photometric solution. The {\it TESS} target is a circular-orbit, detached binary system with a mass ratio of 0.349, an inclination angle of 80.42 deg, and a temperature difference of 847 K between the components. The primary component of the system lies near the red edge of the $δ$ Sct instability region on the main-sequence band in the Hertzsprung-R…
Some cataclysmic variables show short-period ($\sim$200 to $\sim$2000 s) light variations, which are attributable to nonradial pulsations of the accreting primary white dwarf. We regard these periodic variations as r-mode (global Rossby-wave) oscillations which are presumably excited mechanically and confined into hydrogen-rich layers in the white dwarf. Often observed modulations in amplitudes and frequencies even during an observing season may be interpreted as beatings among densely distributed r-mode frequencies. Making the r-mode frequency distribution of a model to be consistent (by adju…
Context. Unambiguous examples of the influence of tides on self-excited, free stellar pulsations have recently been observationally detected in space-based photometric data. Aims. We aim to investigate U Gru and contextualise it within the growing class of tidally influenced pulsators. Initial analysis of U Gru revealed frequencies spaced by the orbital frequency that are difficult to explain by currently proposed tidal mechanisms. Methods. We re-investigate the TESS photometry of U Gru alongside new uves spectroscopy. We analyse the uves spectroscopy with least-squares deconvolution and spect…
Classification of over 50000 TESS stars in sectors 1-18 has resulted in the detection of 766 pulsating main sequence B stars as well as over 5000 $δ$ Scuti, 2300 $γ$ Doradus and 114 roAp candidates. It is found that a distinct group of $β$ Cephei stars, defined as B stars with frequencies greater than 2.5 d$^{-1}$ and predicted by models, does not exist. Instead, high frequencies are to be found over the whole B-star range, eventually merging with $δ$ Scuti stars. The cool B stars pulsating in high frequencies are the Maia variables. It is shown that Maia variables are not rapidly-rotating $β$…
We present the physical properties of EPIC 245932119 ($K_{\rm p}$ = $+$9.82) exhibiting both eclipses and pulsations from the {\it K{\rm 2}} photometry. The binary modeling indicates that the eclipsing system is in detached or semi-detached configurations with a mass ratio of 0.283 or 0.245, respectively, and that its light-curve parameters are almost unaffected by pulsations. Multiple frequency analyses were performed for the light residuals in the outside-primary eclipsing phase after subtracting the binarity effects from the observed data. We detected 35 frequencies with signal to noise amp…
The study of pulsating stars in eclipsing binaries holds the promise of combining two different ways of measuring the physical properties of a star to obtain improved constraints on stellar theory. Gravity (g) mode pulsations such as those found in $γ$ Doradus stars can be used to probe rotational profiles, mixing and magnetic fields. Until recently few $γ$ Doradus stars in eclipsing binaries were known. We have discovered g-mode pulsations in four detached eclipsing binary systems from light curves obtained by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and present an analysis of their e…
We present the discovery of three new $β$ Cep pulsators, three new pulsators with frequency groupings, and frequency patterns in a B3Ib star, all of which show pulsations with frequencies as high as about 17 d$^{-1}$, with K2 space mission photometry. Based on a Fourier analysis and iterative pre-whitening we present a classification and evaluate the potential for asteroseismic modelling. We include the lists of pulsation frequencies for three new $β$ Cep pulsators, CD-28 12286, CD-27 10876, LS 3978, and additional pulsation mode frequencies for the known $β$ Cep pulsator HD 164741. In additio…
Pulsation frequencies reveal the interior structures of white dwarf stars, shedding light on the properties of these compact objects that represent the final evolutionary stage of most stars. Two-minute cadence photometry from TESS will record pulsation signatures from bright white dwarfs over the entire sky. We aim to demonstrate the sensitivity of TESS data to measuring pulsations of helium-atmosphere white dwarfs in the DBV instability strip, and what asteroseismic analysis of these measurements can constrain about their stellar structures. We present a case study of the pulsating DBV WD 01…
Opacity enhancements for stellar interior conditions have been explored to explain observed pulsation frequencies and to extend the pulsation instability region for B-type main-sequence variable stars. For these stars, the pulsations are driven in the region of the opacity bump of Fe-group elements at $\sim$200,000 K in the stellar envelope. Here we explore effects of opacity enhancements for the somewhat cooler main-sequence A-type stars, in which $p$-mode pulsations are driven instead in the second helium ionization region at $\sim$50,000 K. We compare models using the new LANL OPLIB vs. LLN…
We present a comprehensive study of the eclipsing binary system KIC 10661783. The analysis of the whole Kepler light curve, corrected for the binary effects, reveals a rich oscillation spectrum with 590 significant frequency peaks, 207 of which are independent. In addition to typical $δ$ Sct frequencies, we find small-amplitude signals in the low-frequency range that, most probably, are a manifestation of gravity-mode pulsations. We perform binary-evolution computations for this system in order to find an acceptable model describing its current stage. Our models show that the binary KIC 106617…
Oscillating eclipsing Algols (oEAs) are remarkable systems which allow us to determine accurate fundamental stellar parameters (mass, radius) and probe the stellar interiors through pulsations. TZ\,Dra is an oEA system containing a $δ$ Scuti component. To examine particular characteristics of such close systems including pulsations and mass transfer, we present a detailed photometric and spectroscopic study of TZ\,Dra. With the analysis of high-resolution spectra, the orbital parameters were determined by the radial velocity analysis and the atmospheric parameters were derived for the primary …
Exoplanet properties crucially depend on their host stars' parameters. In case the exoplanet host star shows pulsations, asteroseismology can be used for an improved description of the stellar parameters. We aim to revisit the pulsational properties of beta Pic and identify its pulsation modes from normalised amplitudes in five different passbands. We also investigate the potential presence of a magnetic field. We conduct a frequency analysis using three seasons of BRITE-Constellation observations in the BRITE blue and red filters, the ~620-day long bRing light curve and the nearly 8-year long…
We present the analysis of K2 short cadence data of the rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) star, 33 Librae (HD 137949). The precision afforded to the K2 data allow us to identify at least 11 pulsation modes in this star, compared to the three previously reported. Reoccurring separations between these modes leads us to suggest a large frequency separation, $Δν$, of 78.9 $μ$Hz, twice that reported in the literature. Other frequency separations we detect may represent the small frequency separation, $δν$, but this is inconclusive at this stage due to magnetic perturbation of the frequencies. Due to th…
