Baryon resonance production in the $π+d$ reaction and search for $η$-mesic nuclei at J-PARC

Search for η-Mesic Nuclei at J-PARC

The merits of searching for η-mesic nuclei by use of the (π, N) reaction at J-PARC is discussed, by comparison with an old experiment with the same reaction at BNL in 1980's. The importance of a pilot experiment using deuterium target is also stressed for a better understanding of the background which should exist even after the coincidence of the decay particles of η-mesic nuclei.

D mesic nuclei

The energies and widths of several D^0 meson bound states for different nuclei are obtained using a D-meson selfenergy in the nuclear medium, which is evaluated in a selfconsistent manner using techniques of unitarized coupled-channel theory. The kernel of the meson-baryon interaction is based on a model that treats heavy pseudoscalar and heavy vector mesons on equal footing, as required by heavy quark symmetry. Pion Induced Reactions for the Study of Charmed Baryons

In this talk, we report the study of $π^- p \to K^{*0} Λ$ and $π^- p \to D^{*-} Λ_c^+$ reactions by using an effective Lagrangian method and a hybrid Regge model. The total and differential cross sections for the $K^{*0} Λ$ production are first calculated and then those for the $D^{*-} Λ_c^+$ one are estimated. The two models yield different results, each exhibiting specific features. Our prediction for the charm production provides valuable information about the upcoming J-PARC experiment.

Charmed mesons in nuclei with heavy-quark spin symmetry

We study the properties of charmed pseudoscalar and vector mesons in dense matter within a unitary meson-baryon coupled-channel model which incorporates heavy-quark spin symmetry. This is accomplished by extending the SU(3) Weinberg-Tomozawa Lagrangian to SU(8) spin-flavor symmetry and implementing a suitable flavor symmetry breaking. Several resonances with negative parity are generated dynamically by the s-wave interaction between pseudoscalar and vector meson multiplets with $1/2^+$ and $3/2^+$ baryons. Charmed mesons in nuclear matter

We obtain the properties of charmed mesons in dense matter using a coupled-channel approach which accounts for Pauli blocking effects and meson self-energies in a self-consistent manner. We study the behaviour of dynamically-generated baryonic resonances together with the open-charm meson spectral functions in this dense nuclear environment. We discuss the implications of the in-medium properties of open-charm mesons on the $D_{s0}(2317)$ and the predicted X(3700) scalar resonances, and on the formation of $D$-mesic nuclei.
