The quantized flag manifold, which is a $q$-analogue of the ordinary flag manifold, is realized as a non-commutative scheme, and we can define the category of $D$-modules on it using the framework of non-commutative algebraic geometry; however, when the parameter $q$ is a root of unity, Lusztig's Frobenius morphism allows us to handle $D$-modules on the quantized flag manifold through modules over a certain sheaf of rings on the ordinary flag manifold. In this paper we will show that this sheaf of rings on the ordinary flag manifold is an Azumaya algebra over its center. We also show that its restriction to certain subsets are split Azumaya algebras. These are analogues of some results of Bezrukavnikov-Mirković-Rumynin on $D$-modules on flag manifolds in positive characteristics.
We show that the quantized flag manifold at a root of unity has natural affine open covering parametrized by the elements of the Weyl group. In particular, the quantized flag manifold turns out to be a quasi-scheme in the sense of Rosenberg.
We prove an analogue of Weyl's law for quantized irreducible generalized flag manifolds. By this we mean defining a zeta function, similarly to the classical setting, and showing that it satisfies the following two properties: as a functional on the quantized algebra it is proportional to the Haar state; its first singularity coincides with the classical dimension. The relevant formulae are given for the more general case of compact quantum groups.
In this article the quantized matrix algebras as in the title have been studied at a root of unity. A full classification of simple modules over such quantized matrix algebras of rank $2$ along with a class of finite dimensional indecomposable modules are given.
We will give an explicit description of the center of the De Concini-Kac type specialization of a quantized enveloping algebra at an even root of unity. The case of an odd root of unity was already dealt with by De Concini-Kac-Procesi. Our description in the even case is similar to but a little more complicated than the odd case.
The notion of locally finite part of the dual coalgebra of certain quantized coordinate rings is introduced. In the case of irreducible flag manifolds this locally finite part is shown to coincide with a natural quotient coalgebra V of U_q(g). On the way the coradical filtration of V is determined. A graded version of the duality between V and the quantized coordinate ring is established. This leads to a natural construction of several examples of quantized vector spaces. As an application covariant first order differential calculi on quantized irreducible flag manifolds are classified. Keywor…
The quantum group version of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand resolution is used to construct a double complex of U_q(g)-modules with exact rows and columns. The locally finite dual of its total complex is identified with the de Rham complex for quantized irreducible flag manifolds.
We study irreducible *-representations of a certain quantization of the algebra of polynomial functions on a generalized flag manifold regarded as a real manifold. All irreducible *-representations are classified for a subclass of flag manifolds containing in particular the irreducible compact Hermitian symmetric spaces. For this subclass it is shown that the irreducible *-representations are parametrized by the symplectic leaves of the underlying Poisson bracket. We also discuss the relation between the quantized flag manifolds studied in this paper and the quantum flag manifolds studied by S…
By properly specializing the parameters irreducible modules of maximal dimension for the De Concini-Kac version of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum algebra in type $A$ may be transformed into modules over Lusztig's infinitesimal quantum algeba. Thus obtained modules have a simple socle and a simple head, and share the same dimension as the infinitesimal Verma modules. Despite these common features we find that they are never isomorphic to infinitesimal Verma modules unless they are irreducible. The same carry over to the modular setup for the special linear groups in positive characteristic.
Generalized flag manifolds endowed with the Bruhat-Poisson bracket are compact Poisson homogeneous spaces, whose decompositions in symplectic leaves coincide with their stratifications in Schubert cells. In this note it is proved that the irreducible *-representations of the corresponding quantized flag manifolds are also parametrized by their Schubert cells. An important step is the determination of suitable algebraic generators of the quantized flag manifolds. These algebraic generators can be naturally expressed in terms of quantum Plucker coordinates. This note complements the paper of the…
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a semi-simple Lie algebra with fixed root system, and $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ the quantization of its universal enveloping algebra. Let $\mathcal{S}$ be a subset of the simple roots of $\mathfrak{g}$. We show that the defining relations for $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ can be slightly modified in such a way that the resulting algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{g};\mathcal{S})$ allows a homomorphism onto (an extension of) the algebra $\mathrm{Pol}(\mathbb{G}_q/\mathbb{K}_{\mathcal{S},q})$ of functions on the quantum flag manifold $\mathbb{G}_q/\mathbb{K}_{\mathcal{S},q}$ corresponding to $\mathcal…
Let $\Oq(G)$ be the algebra of quantized functions on an algebraic group $G$ and $\Oq(B)$ its quotient algebra corresponding to a Borel subgroup $B$ of $G$. We define the category of sheaves on the "quantum flag variety of $G$" to be the $\Oq(B)$-equivariant $\Oq(G)$-modules and proves that this is a proj-category. We construct a category of equivariant quantum $\mathcal{D}$-modules on this quantized flag variety and prove the Beilinson-Bernsteins localization theorem for this category in the case when $q$ is not a root of unity.
In the paper \cite{BK} we defined categories of equivariant quantum $\mathcal{O}_q$-modules and $\mathcal{D}_q$-modules on the quantum flag variety of $G$. We proved that the Beilinson-Bernstein localization theorem holds at a generic $q$. Here we prove that a derived version of this theorem holds at the root of unity case. Namely, the global section functor gives a derived equivalence between category of $U_q$-modules and $\mathcal{D}_q$-modules on the quantum flag variety. For this we first prove that $\mathcal{D}_q$ is an Azumaya algebra over an open subset ofthe cotangent bundle $T^\star X…
It is shown that quantized irreducible flag manifolds possess a canonical $q$-analogue of the de Rham complex. Generalizing the well known situation for the standard Podleś' quantum sphere this analogue is obtained as the universal differential calculus of a distinguished first order differential calculus. The corresponding differential $\dif$ can be written as a sum of differentials $\del$ and $\delbar$. The universal differential calculus corresponding to the first order differential calculi $\dif$, $\del$, and $\delbar$ are given in terms of generators and relations. Relations to well known…
Let U^+ be the plus part of the quantized enveloping algebra of a simple Lie algebra and let B^* be the dual canonical basis of U^+. Let b,b' be in B* and suppose that one of the two elements is a q-commuting product of quantum flag minors. We show that b and b' are multiplicative if and only if they q-commute.
The natural representation of the quantized affine algebra of type A can be defined via the deformed Fock space by Misra and Miwa. This relates the classes of Weyl modules for a type A quantum group at a root of unity to the action of the quantized affine algebra as the rank tends towards infinity. In this paper we investigate the situation outside of type A. In classical types, we construct embeddings of the Grothendieck group of finite dimensional modules for the corresponding quatum group at a root of unity into Fock spaces of different charges and define an action of an affine quantum symm…
Theory of the quantized flag manifold as a quasi-scheme (non-commutative scheme) has been developed by Lunts-Rosenberg. They have formulated an analogue of the Beilinson-Bernstein correspondence using the $q$-differential operators introduced in their earlier paper. In this paper we shall establish its modified version using a class of $q$-differential operators, which is (possibly) smaller than the one used by Lunts-Rosenberg.
We classify the centers of the quantized Weyl algebras that are PI and derive explicit formulas for the discriminants of these algebras over a general class of polynomial central subalgebras. Two different approaches to these formulas are given: one based on Poisson geometry and deformation theory, and the other using techniques from quantum cluster algebras. Furthermore, we classify the PI quantized Weyl algebras that are free over their centers and prove that their discriminants are locally dominating and effective. This is applied to solve the automorphism and isomorphism problems for this …
In the case of an almost simple algebraic group $G$ of type $G_2$ over a field of characteristic $p>0$ we study the cohomology modules of line bundles on the flag variety for $G$. Our main result is a complete determination of the vanishing behavior of such cohomology in the case where the line bundles in question are induced by characters from the lowest $p^2$-alcoves. When $U_q$ is the quantum group corresponding to $G$ whose parameter $q$ is a complex root of unity of order prime to 6 we give a complete (i.e. covering all characters) description of the vanishing behavior for the correspondi…
A conjecture of De Concini Kac and Procesi provides a bound on the minimal possible dimension of an irreducible module for quantized enveloping algebras at an odd root of unity. We pose the problem of the existence of modules whose dimension equals this bound. We show that this question cannot have a positive answer in full generality and discuss variants of this question.
A Dirac operator D on quantized irreducible generalized flag manifolds is defined. This yields a Hilbert space realization of the covariant first-order differential calculi constructed by I. Heckenberger and S. Kolb. All differentials df=i[D,f] are bounded operators. In the simplest case of Podles' quantum sphere one obtains the spectral triple found by L. Dabrowski and A. Sitarz.
We study the finite dimensional modules on the half-quantum group u_q^+ at a root of unity q, whose action can be extended to u_q (quotient of the quantized enveloping algebra of sl_2). We derive decomposition formulas of the tensor product of indecomposable u_q^+-modules, which includes the cases of the universal and the quantized universal enveloping algebra of sl_2 for q not a root of unity. We also prove that simple modules on u_q correspond exactly to the extendable non projective u_q^+-modules. We thus establish decomposition formulas for the tensor product of simple u_q-modules.
We give several explicit examples of quantum cluster algebra structures, as introduced by Berenstein and Zelevinsky, on quantized coordinate rings of partial flag varieties and their associated unipotent radicals. These structures are shown to be quantizations of the cluster algebra structures found on the corresponding classical objects by Geiss, Leclerc and Schroer, whose work generalizes that of several other authors. We also exhibit quantum cluster algebra structures on the quantized enveloping algebras of the Lie algebras of the unipotent radicals.
In this short note, we show that the Ginzburg-Vasserot map between the quantum affine algebra of type A_(n-1) and the equivariant K-theory group of the Steinberg Variety (of n-step flags in C^d) restricts and remains surjective at the level of the integral forms. In particular, this shows that the parametrization of irreducible, finite-dimensional modules and the Kazhdan-Lusztig multiplicity formulas are valid for the (restricted) specialization at roots of unity.
In this paper we construct explicitly natural (from the geometrical point of view) Fock space representations (contragradient Verma modules) of the quantized enveloping algebras. In order to do so, we start from the Gauss decomposition of the quantum group and introduce the differential operators on the corresponding $q$-deformed flag manifold (asuumed as a left comodule for the quantum group) by a projection to it of the right action of the quantized enveloping algebra on the quantum group. Finally, we express the representatives of the elements of the quantized enveloping algebra correspondi…
The Shapovalov determinant for a class of pointed Hopf algebras is calculated, including quantized enveloping algebras, Lusztig's small quantum groups, and quantized Lie superalgebras. Our main tools are root systems, Weyl groupoids, and Lusztig type isomorphisms. We elaborate powerful novel techniques for the algebras at roots of unity, and pass to the general case using a density argument. Key words: Hopf algebra, Nichols algebra, quantum group, representation
Quantum groups in general and the quantum Anti-de Sitter group $U_q(so(2,3))$ in particular are studied from the point of view of quantum field theory. We show that if $q$ is a suitable root of unity, there exist finite-dimensional, unitary representations corresponding to essentially all the classical one-particle representations with (half)integer spin, with the same structure at low energies as in the classical case. In the massless case for spin $\geq 1$, the "naive" representations are unitarizable only after factoring out a subspace of "pure gauges", as classically. Unitary many-particle…
We compute the center and Azumaya locus in the simplest non-abelian examples of quantized multiplicative quiver varieties at a root of unity: quantum Weyl algebras of rank $N$, and quantum differential operators on the quantum group $\mathrm{GL}_2$. These examples illustrate in elementary terms much more general phenomena explored further in [Ganev-Jordan-Safronov 2019].
We study the restricted form of the qaunatized enveloping algebra of an untwisted affine Lie algebra and prove a triangular decomposition for it. In proving the decomposition we prove several new identities in the quantized algebra, one of these show a connection between the quantized algebra and Young diagrams. These identities are all invisible in the non-quantum case of the problem which was considered by Garland in 1978. We then study the finite-dimensional irreducible representations and prove a factorization theorem for such representations.
A Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand resolution for arbitrary Kac-Moody algebras and arbitrary subsets of the set of simple roots is proven. Moreover, quantum group analogs of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand resolution for symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras are established. For quantized enveloping algebras with fixed complex nonzero deformation parameter q exactness is proven for all q which are not a root of unity.
In our preceding papers we started considering the categories of tangles with flat G-connections in their complements, where G is a simple complex algebraic group. The braiding (or the commutativity constraint) in such categories satisfies the holonomy Yang-Baxter equation and it is this property which is essential for our construction of invariants of tangles with flat G-connections in their complements. In this paper, to any pair of irreducible modules over the quantized universal enveloping algebra of gl_2 at a root of unity, we associate a solution of the holonomy Yang-Baxter equation.
For a quantized enveloping algebra of a complex semisimple Lie algebra with deformation parameter not a root of unity, we classify all homogeneous right coideal subalgebras. Any such right coideal subalgebra is determined uniquely by a triple consisting of two elements of the Weyl group and a subset of the set of simple roots satisfying some natural conditions. The essential ingredients of the proof are the Lusztig automorphisms and the classification of homogeneous right coideal subalgebras of the Borel Hopf subalgebras of quantized enveloping algebras obtained previously by H.-J. Schneider a…
Let $U$ be a connected, simply connected compact Lie group with complexification $G$. Let $\mathfrak{u}$ and $\mathfrak{g}$ be the associated Lie algebras. Let $Γ$ be the Dynkin diagram of $\mathfrak{g}$ with underlying set $I$, and let $U_q(\mathfrak{u})$ be the associated quantized universal enveloping $*$-algebra of $\mathfrak{u}$ for some $0<q$ distinct from $1$. Let $\mathcal{O}_q(U)$ be the coquasitriangular quantized function Hopf $*$-algebra of $U$, whose Drinfeld double $\mathcal{O}_q(G_{\mathbb{R}})$ we view as the quantized function $*$-algebra of $G$ considered as a real algebraic …
In his work on crystal bases \cite{Kas}, Kashiwara introduced a certain degeneration of the quantized universal enveloping algebra of a semi-simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$, which he called a quantum boson algebra. In this paper, we construct Kashiwara operators associated to all positive roots and use them to define a variant of Kashiwara's quantum boson algebra. We show that a quasi-classical limit of the positive half of our variant is a Poisson algebra of the form $(P \simeq \mathbb C[\mathfrak n^{\ast}], \, \{~~,~~\}_P)$, where $\mathfrak n$ is the positive part of $\mathfrak g$ and $\{~…
Let $U$ be the quantum group with divided powers in $p-$th root of unity for prime $p$. For any two-sided cell $A$ in the corresponding affine Weyl group one associates tensor ideal in the category of tilting modules over $U$. In this note we show that for any cell $A$ there exists tilting module $T$ from the corresponding tensor ideal such that biggest power of $p$ which divides $dim T$ is $p^{a(A)}$ where $a(A)$ is Lusztig's $a-$function. In new version some typos are corrected and exposition is improved following suggestions of the referee.
We consider Dolbeault-Dirac operators on quantized irreducible flag manifolds as defined by Krähmer and Tucker-Simmons. We show that, in general, these operators do not satisfy a formula of Parthasarathy-type. This is a consequence of two results that we prove here: we always have quadratic commutation relations for the relevant quantum root vectors, up to terms in the quantized Levi factor; there are examples of quantum Clifford algebras where the commutation relations are not of quadratic-constant type.
We construct infinite-dimensional analogues of finite-dimensional simple modules of the nonstandard $q$-deformed enveloping algebra $U_q'(\mathfrak{so}_n)$ defined by Gavrilik and Klimyk, and we do the same for the classical universal enveloping algebra $U(\mathfrak{so}_n)$. In this paper we only consider the case when $q$ is not a root of unity, and $q\to 1$ for the classical case. Extending work by Mazorchuk on $\mathfrak{so}_n$, we provide rational matrix coefficients for these infinite-dimensional modules of both $U_q'(\mathfrak{so}_n)$ and $U(\mathfrak{so}_n)$. We use these modules with r…
Let a, b be non-zero complex numbers and l an odd natural number bigger that 2. We determine all Hopf algebra quotients of the quantized coordinate algebra O_{a,b}(GL_{n}) when a^{-1}b is a primitive l-th root of unity and a, b satisfy certain mild conditions, and we caracterize all finite-dimensional quotients when a^{-1}b is not a root of unity. As a byproduct we give a new family of non-semisimple and non-pointed Hopf algebras with non-pointed duals which are quotients of O_{a, b}(GL_{n}).
An example of a finite dimensional factorizable ribbon Hopf C-algebra is given by a quotient H=u_q(g) of the quantized universal enveloping algebra U_q(g) at a root of unity q of odd degree. The mapping class group M_{g,1} of a surface of genus g with one hole projectively acts by automorphisms in the H-module H^{*\otimes g}, if H^* is endowed with the coadjoint H-module structure. There exists a projective representation of the mapping class group M_{g,n} of a surface of genus g with n holes labelled by finite dimensional H-modules X_1,...,X_n in the vector space Hom_H(X_1\otimes...\otimes X_…
We introduce a $p$-adic analytic analogue of Backelin and Kremnizer's construction of the quantum flag variety of a semisimple algebraic group, when $q$ is not a root of unity and $| q-1|<1$. We then define a category of $λ$-twisted $D$-modules on this analytic quantum flag variety. We show that when $λ$ is regular and dominant and when the characteristic of the residue field does not divide the order of the Weyl group, the global section functor gives an equivalence of categories between the coherent $λ$-twisted $D$-modules and the category of finitely generated modules over $\widehat{U_q^λ}$…
The first part of this thesis deals with certain properties of the quantum symmetric and exterior algebras of Type 1 representations of $U_q(g)$ defined by Berenstein and Zwicknagl. We define a notion of a commutative algebra object in a coboundary category, and we prove that the quantum symmetric algebra of a module is the universal commutative algebra generated by that module. That is, the functor assigning to a module its quantum symmetric algebra is left adjoint to a forgetful functor. We also prove a conjecture of Berenstein and Zwicknagl, stating that the quantum symmetric and exterior c…
In this paper we prove that the subalgebras of cocommutative elements in the quantized coordinate rings of $M_{n}$, $GL_{n}$ and $SL_{n}$ are the centralizers of the trace $x_{1,1}+\dots+x_{n,n}$ in each algebra, for $q\in\mathbb{C}^{\times}$ being not a root of unity. In particular, it is not only a commutative subalgebra as it was known before, but it is a maximal one.
Let $P_J$ be the standard parabolic subgroup of $SL_n$ obtained by deleting a subset $J$ of negative simple roots, and let $P_J = L_JU_J$ be the standard Levi decomposition. Following work of the first author, we study the quantum analogue $θ: {\mathcal O}_q(P_J) \to{\mathcal O}_q(L_J) \otimes {\mathcal O}_q(P_J)$ of an induced coaction and the corresponding subalgebra ${\mathcal O}_q(P_J)^{\operatorname{co} θ} \subseteq {\mathcal O}_q(P_J)$ of coinvariants. It was shown that the smash product algebra ${\mathcal O}_q(L_J)\# {\mathcal O}_q(P_J)^{\operatorname{co} θ}$ is isomorphic to ${\mathcal…
We relate the semiclassical asymptotics of the 6j symbols for the representation theory of the quantized enveloping algebra U_q(sl_2) at q a primitive root of unity, or q positive real, to the geometry of non-Euclidean tetrahedra. The formulas are motivated by the geometry of conformal blocks in the Wess-Zumino-Witten model; they generalize formulas in the case q = 1 of Wigner, Ponzano and Regge, and Schulten and Gordon, proved by J. Roberts.
Let $u_ζ(g)$ denote the small quantum group associated to the simple complex Lie algebra $g$, with parameter $q$ specialized to a primitive $\ell$-th root of unity $ζ$ in the field $k$. Generalizing a result of Cline, Parshall and Scott, we show that if $M$ is a finite-dimensional $u_ζ(g)$-module admitting a compatible torus action, then the injectivity of $M$ as a module for $u_ζ(g)$ can be detected by the restriction of $M$ to certain root subalgebras of $u_ζ(g)$. If the characteristic of $k$ is positive, then this injectivity criterion also holds for the higher Frobenius--Lusztig kernels $U…
