By analyzing the dynamical properties of particle production in relativistic heavy ion collisions, it is possible to characterize the final stage of the equilibration process occurring in the collision fireball. In this work, we use the Hagedorn model coupled with non-extensive statistics to evaluate the transverse momentum spectra of positive pions for various event centrality classes in Au+Au collisions at RHIC with center-of-mass energies of 62.4GeV/A and 200GeV/A. We find that, by assuming an energy distribution that incorporates particle correlations, it is possible to explain the entire $π^{+}$ $p_{T}$ spectrum as measured by RHIC. We find that spectra from central collisions, when compared to peripheral collisions, are consistent with a system that has smaller values of the non-extensivity parameter "q" and higher values of temperature. Comparison between different beam energies also shows a variation of the "q" parameter. The result is discussed using the interpretation that the "q" parameter is a measure of particle correlations within the system. Under this assumption, our results show that more central collisions are consistent with a system with less particle correlations.
$J/ψ$ suppression/production is one of the main signature of quark-gluon plasma detection at RHIC and LHC. In order to study $j/ψ$ suppression/production in high energy heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC, one needs to prove the factorization theorem of $j/ψ$ production in non-equilibrium QCD medium, otherwise one will predict infinite cross section of $j/ψ$. In this paper we prove factorization theorem of $j/ψ$ production in non-equilibrium QCD at RHIC and LHC at all order in coupling constant.
Theoretical understanding of the observed jet quenching measurements at RHIC and LHC is challenging in QCD because it requires understanding of parton to hadron fragmentation function in non-equilibrium QCD. In this paper, by using closed-time path integral formalism, we derive the gauge invariant definition of the gluon to hadron fragmentation function in non-equilibrium QCD which is consistent with factorization theorem in non-equilibrium QCD from first principles.
Recently we have proved the NRQCD factorization in heavy quarkonium production at high energy colliders at all orders in coupling constant. In this paper we extend this to non-equilibrium QCD and prove the NRQCD factorization in heavy quarkonium production at all orders in coupling constant in non-equilibrium QCD. This proof is necessary to study heavy quarkonium production from quark gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC.
Recently we have proved the factorization of NRQCD S-wave heavy quarkonium production at all orders in coupling constant. In this paper we extend this to prove the factorization of infrared divergences in $χ_{cJ}$ production from color singlet $c{\bar c}$ pair in non-equilibrium QCD at RHIC and LHC at all orders in coupling constant. This can be relevant to study the quark-gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC.
Recently we have proved NRQCD color octet factorization of S-wave and P-wave heavy quarkonia production at all orders in coupling constant in QCD in vacuum at high energy colliders in Eur. Phys. J. C76 (2016) 448 and in arXiv:1807.04722 [hep-ph] respectively. In this paper we extend this to prove NRQCD color octet factorization of P-wave heavy quarkonium production in non-equilibrium QCD at RHIC and LHC at all orders in coupling constant. This proof is necessary to study the quark-gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC.
We investigate the difference between hadron resonance gas (HRG) calculations for chemical freeze-out parameters at fully and partly chemical equilibria. To this end, the results are compared with the particle ratios measured in central Au-Au collisions at a wide range of nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energies, \hbox{$\sqrt{s_{NN}}=7.7-200 $GeV} as offered by the STAR experiment. We restrict the discussion to STAR, because of large statistics and overall homogeneity of STAR measurements (one detector) against previous experiments. We find that the matter produced at these energies is likely i…
An important ingredient for the non-equilibrium evolution of partons at RHIC and LHC is to have some physically reasonable initial conditions for the single particle phase space distribution functions for the partons. We consider several plausible parametrizations of initial conditions for the single particle distribution function f_i(x,p) and fix the parameters by matching \int f(x,p)p^μd σ_μto the invariant momentum space semi-hard parton distributions obtained using perturbative QCD (pQCD), as well as fitting low order moments of the distribution function. We consider parametrizations of f_…
We study charge fluctuations within the statistical hadronization model. Considering both the particle yield ratios and the charge fluctuations we show that it is possible to differentiate between chemical equilibrium and non-equilibrium freeze-out conditions. As an example of the procedure we show quantitatively how the relative yield ratio $Λ/K^-$ together with the normalized net charge fluctuation $v(Q)=\ave{ΔQ^2}/\ave{\Nch}$ constrain the chemical conditions at freeze-out. We also discuss the influence of the limited detector acceptance on fluctuation measurements, and show how this can be…
I compute the first-order corrections to two-particle Bose-Einstein correlations due to deviations from equilibrium. Based on that result I argue that for nearly perfect fluids, the HBT radii ``freeze out'' much later than the single-inclusive distribution. Therefore, to prevent a big longitudinal homogeneity length, the QGP presumably should hadronize not into a nearly perfect fluid of hadrons but rather into a very dissipative one. This could be achieved by a hadronization phase transition away from equilibrium.
We study the hadron spectra in nearly central $A$+$A$ collisions at RHIC and LHC in a broad transverse momentum range. We cover the low-$p_T$ spectra using longitudinally boost-invariant hydrodynamics with initial energy and net-baryon number densities from the perturbative QCD (pQCD)+saturation model. Build-up of the transverse flow and sensitivity of the spectra to a single decoupling temperature $\Tdec$ are studied. Comparison with RHIC data at $\ssNN=130$ and 200 GeV suggests a rather high value $\Tdec=150$ MeV. The high-$p_T$ spectra are computed using factorized pQCD cross sections, nucl…
We calculate the one-particle hadronic spectra and correlation functions of pions based on a hydrodynamical model. Parameters in the model are so chosen that the one-particle spectra reproduce experimental results of $\sqrt{s}=130A$GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC. Based on the numerical solution, we discuss the space-time evolution of the fluid. Two-pion correlation functions are also discussed. Our numerical solution suggests the formation of the quark-gluon plasma with large volume and low net baryon density.
Net-baryon rapidity distributions in central Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV per nucleon are shown to consist of three components. The nonequilibrium contributions are accounted for in a Relativistic Diffusion Model. Near midrapidity, a third fraction containing approximately 22 protons reaches local statistical equilibrium in a discontinuous transition. It may be associated with a deconfinement of the participant partons and thus, serve as a signature for Quark-Gluon Matter formation.
The value of the parton to hadron fragmentation function in QCD in vacuum (for example from proton-proton collisions at high energy colliders) is directly/indirectly used in the literature to study the jet quenching and the hadron production from quark-gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC. In this paper we show that this is not possible because, unlike the perturbative propagator in non-equilibrium QCD, the parton to hadron fragmentation function is a non-perturbative quantity in QCD and hence it is not possible to decompose the fragmentation function in non-equilibrium QCD into the vacuum part and th…
We have estimated centrality variation of chemical freeze-out parameters from yield data at mid-rapidity of $π^\pm$, $K^\pm$ and $p$, $\bar{p}$ for collision energies of RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider), Beam Energy Scan (RHIC-BES) program, and LHC (Large Hadron Collider). We have considered a simple hadron resonance gas model and employed a formalism involving conserved charges ($B, Q, S$) of QCD for parameterization. Along with temperature and three chemical potentials ($T,μ_B,μ_Q,μ_S$), a strangeness under-saturation factor ($γ_S$) has been used to incorporate the partial equilibratio…
The Tsallis distribution has been tested to fit the all particle spectra at mid-rapidity from central events produced in d+Au, Cu+Cu, Au+Au collisions at RHIC and p+Pb, Pb+Pb collisions at LHC. Even though there are strong medium effects in Cu+Cu and Au+Au collisions, the results show that the Tsallis distribution can be used to fit most of particle spectra in the collisions studied except in Au+Au collisions where some deviations are seen for proton and $Λ$ at low $p_T$. In addition, as the Tsallis distribution can only fit part of the particle spectra produced in Pb+Pb collisions where $p_T$…
Predictions of the single-freeze-out model for the particle spectra at RHIC are presented. The model assumes that the chemical and thermal freeze-outs occur simultaneously, and incorporates in simple terms the longitudinal and transverse flow. All resonance decays are included. The model predictions and the data are in striking agreement in the whole available range of momenta.
We show that the proton and pion transverse momentum distributions measured at RHIC for all collision centralities for pions and most of the collision centralities for protons, can be simultaneously described in terms of a thermal model with common values for the radial flow and temperature, when accounting for the finite size of the interaction region at the time of decoupling. We show that this description is obtained in terms of a simple scaling law of the size of the interaction region with the number of participants in the collision. The behavior of the proton to pion ratio at mid-rapidit…
A study of the energy behavior of the interferometry radii is carried out for the RHIC and LHC energies within the hydrokinetic model (HKM). The hydrokinetic predictions for the HBT radii at LHC energies are compared with the recent results of the ALICE Collaboration. The role of non-equilibrium and non-hydrodynamic stage of the matter evolution in formation of the femtoscopy scales at the LHC energies is analyzed. For this aim we develop the hybrid hydrokinetic model.
Thermalization and collective flow of charm (c) and bottom (b) quarks are evaluated from elastic parton scattering via "D"- and "B"-meson resonances in an expanding, strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma at RHIC. Pertinent drag and diffusion coefficients are implemented into a relativistic Langevin simulation to compute transverse-momentum spectra and azimuthal flow asymmetries (v_2) of c- and b-quarks. Upon hadronization (including coalescence and fragmentation) and semileptonic D- and B-decays, the resulting electron spectra (R_{AA} and v_2) are compared to recent RHIC data.
We analyze longitudinal pion spectra from \sqrt{s_{NN}}= 2 GeV to \sqrt {s_{\rm NN}}=20 GeV within Landau's hydrodynamical model and the UrQMD hybrid approach. From the measured data on the widths of the pion rapidity spectra, we extract the sound velocity c_s^2 in the dense stage of the reactions. It is found that the sound velocity has a local minimum (indicating a softest point in the equation of state, EoS) at \sqrt{s_{NN}}= 4-9 GeV, an energy range accessible at the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) as well as the RHIC-Beam Energy Scan (RHIC-BES). This softening of the EoS i…
The thermal model of particle production is used to analyze the particle ratios and the p_T spectra measured recently at RHIC. Our fit of the particle ratios yields the temperature at the chemical freeze-out T_chem = 165 +- 7 MeV with the corresponding baryon chemical potential mu^B_chem = 41 +- 5 MeV. The quality of the fit shows that the model works well for RHIC. The p_T spectra are evaluated in an approach which takes into account the modifications of the initial thermal distributions by the secondary decays of resonances. All two- and three-body decays are included. This leads to an effec…
We have studied the probability of two succinct particle production mechanisms, likely to occur in the transition from the deconfined medium produced in RHIC and LHC heavy ion collisions back to the hadron gas, which is abundant at lower temperatures. Evidence has been found for in-medium fragmentation of non-equilibrated partons in the deconfined medium as well as bound state formation in the quark-gluon phase itself, as described by lattice QCD . Through the comparison to PNJL model calculations we attempt to quantify an extended phase of mixed degrees of freedom in a temperature range just …
We analyze the transverse momentum distribution of $J/ψ$ mesons produced in Au + Au collisions at the top RHIC energy within a blast-wave model that accounts for a possible inhomogeneity of the charmonium distribution and/or flow fluctuations. The results imply that the transverse momentum spectra of$J/ψ$, $ϕ$ and $Ω$ hadrons measured at the RHIC can be described well if kinetic freeze-out takes place just after chemical freeze-out for these particles.
We show, by means of a simple compilation of the available experimental results, that the pT-spectra obtained at RHIC and SPS are strikingly similar up to pT ~ 1.5-2 GeV. In fact, the discrepancies between various experimental groups working at the same experiment are of the same size as the differences between RHIC and SPS. Our observation is complementary to the well known fact of the equality of the measured R_side and R_out HBT radii at RHIC and SPS. In essence, it points out that the transverse size of the firecylinder and the strength of the transverse flow are not significantly changed …
The hot and dense strongly interacting matter created in collisions of heavy nuclei at RHIC energies is modeled with relativistic hydrodynamics, and the spectra of real and virtual photons produced at mid-rapidity in these events are calculated. Several different sources are considered, and their relative importance is compared. Specifically, we include jet fragmentation, jet-plasma interactions, the emission of radiation from the thermal medium and from primordial hard collisions. Our calculations consistently take into account jet energy loss, as evaluated in the AMY formalism. We obtain res…
Hadron yields in high energy heavy ion collisions have been fitted and reproduced by thermal models using standard statistical distributions. These models give insight into the freeze-out conditions at varying beam energies. In this paper we investigate changes to this analysis when the statistical distributions are replaced by Tsallis distributions for hadrons. We investigate the appearance of near-thermal equilibrium state at SPS and RHIC energies. We obtain better fits with smaller chi^2 for the same hadron data, as applied earlier in the thermal fits for SPS energies but not for RHIC energ…
We present the systematic analysis of transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra of identified hadrons in p+p collisions at RHIC ($\sqrt{s}$ = 62.4 and 200 GeV) and at LHC energies ($\sqrt{s}$ = 0.9, 2.76 and 7.0 TeV) using phenomenological fit functions. We review various forms of Hagedorn and Tsallis distributions and show their equivalence. We use Tsallis distribution which successfully describes the spectra in p+p collisions using two parameters, Tsallis temperature $T$ which governs the soft bulk spectra and power $n$ which determines the initial production in partonic collisions. We obtain thes…
This survey offers an introductory tutorial for students of any age of the currently thriving field of hadrochemistry. We discuss the different chemical potentials, how the hadronic phase space is described and how one evaluates the abundance of hadrons at time of hadronization. We show that a rather accurate description of experimental data arises and we present results of fits to hadron yields at SPS and RHIC. We show that introduction of chemical non-equilibrium originating in a sudden hadronization of a QGP is favored strongly at SPS and is presently also emerging at RHIC. The low chemical…
We study, in the dynamically evolving QGP fireball formed in relativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC, the growth of strangeness yield toward and beyond the chemical equilibrium. We account for the contribution of the direct strangeness production and evaluate the thermal-QCD strangeness production mechanisms. The specific yield of strangeness per entropy, s/S, is the primary target variable. We explore the effect of collision impact parameter, i.e., fireball size, on kinetic strangeness chemical equilibration in QGP. Insights gained in study the RHIC data with regard to the dynamics …
We discuss experimental data on particle yields and particle spectra obtained in heavy ion collisions in a very broad energy range from SIS/GSI through AGS/BNL up to SPS/CERN and RHIC/BNL. We argue that in this broad energy range hadronic yields and their ratios resemble a thermal equilibrium population along a unified freeze--out curve determined by the condition of fixed energy/particle = 1 GeV. At RHIC and top SPS, thermal parameters are consistent within error with the critical conditions required for deconfinement. This, together with the particular distribution of strangeness within a co…
We calculate the initial non-equilibrium conditions from perturbative QCD (pQCD) within Glauber multiple scattering theory for $\sqrt s =200$ AGeV and $\sqrt s =5.5$ ATeV. At the soon available collider energies one will particularly test the small $x$ region of the parton distributions entering the cross sections. Therefore shadowing effects, previously more or less unimportant, will lead to new effects on variables such as particle multiplicities $dN/dy$, transverse energy production $d\bar{E}_T/dy$, and the initial temperature $T_i$. In this paper we will have a closer look on the effects o…
The generic features of parton energy loss effects on the quenching of single hadron spectra in heavy-ion collisions are discussed, paying attention to the expected differences from RHIC to LHC. The need for precise baseline measurements in p-Pb collisions at the LHC is also emphasized. Finally I briefly mention the production of prompt photons in heavy-ion collisions as well as some open questions.
The transverse mass spectra of J/psi and psi' mesons and Omega hyperons produced in central Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies are discussed within a statistical model used successfully for the interpretation of the SPS results. The comparison of the presented model with the future RHIC data should serve as a further crucial test of the hypothesis of statistical production of charmonia at hadronization. Finally, in case of validity, the approach should allow to estimate the mean transverse flow velocity at the quark gluon plasma hadronization.
The integrated HydroKinetic Model (iHKM) is applied to analyse the results of direct photon spectra and elliptic flow measurements in 200A GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC for the three centrality bins. We detect the strong centrality dependence of photon elliptic flow as $v_2(p_T)$-coefficient increases towards peripheral collisions. The photon production in the model is accumulated from the different sources along with the process of relativistic heavy ion collision developing. Those include the primary hard photons from the parton collisions at very early stage of the process, the photons gener…
The single-freeze-out model of hadron production is used to describe the particle ratios and the transverse-momentum spectra from RHIC. The emphasis is put on the new measurements done at the highest beam energy of 200 GeV. An overall very good agreement is found between the data and the model predictions. The data for different centrality windows are analyzed separately. A simple scaling of the two expansion parameters of the model with the centrality is found. Interestingly, this scaling turns out to be equivalent to the scaling of hadron production with the number of wounded nucleons.
Chiral Lagrangians are used to compute the production rate of photons from the hadronic phase of relativistic nuclear collisions. Special attention is paid to the role of the pseudovector a_1 meson. Calculations that include reactions with strange mesons, hadronic form factors and vector spectral densities consistent with dilepton production, as well as the emission from a quark-gluon plasma and primordial nucleon-nucleon collisions, reproduce the photon spectra measured at the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS). Predictions for the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) are made.
We study the transverse spectra of hadrons in nearly central $AA$ collisions at RHIC and LHC in a broad transverse momentum range Low-$p_T$ spectra are calculated by using boost-invariant hydrodynamics with initial energy and net-baryon densities from the EKRT pQCD+saturation model. High-$p_T$ spectra are obtained from pQCD jet calculation including the energy loss of the parton in the matter prior to its fragmentation to final hadrons.
We present here the computation of electrical and thermal conductivity by solving the Boltzmann transport equation in relaxation time approximation. We use the $q$-generalized Boltzmann distribution function to incorporate the effects of non-extensivity. The behaviour of these quantities with changing temperature and baryochemical potential has been studied as the system slowly moves towards thermodynamic equilibrium. We have estimated the Lorenz number at NICA, FAIR and the top RHIC energies and studied as a function of temperature, baryochemical potential and the non-extensive parameter, $q$…
The assumption of simultaneous chemical and thermal freeze-outs of the hadron gas leads to a surprisingly accurate, albeit entirely conventional, explanation of the recently-measured RHIC pT spectra. The original thermal spectra are supplied with secondaries from decays of all resonances, and subsequently folded with a suitably parameterized expansion involving longitudinal and transverse flow. The predictions of this thermal approach, with various parametrizations for the expansion, are in a striking quantitative agreement with the data in the whole available range of 0 < pT < 3.5GeV.
The transverse mass spectra of Omega hyperons and phi mesons measured recently by STAR Collaboration in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 130 GeV are described within a hydrodynamic model of the quark gluon plasma expansion and hadronization. The flow parameters at the plasma hadronization extracted by fitting these data are used to predict the transverse mass spectra of J/psi and psi' mesons.
Single pion and prompt photon large transverse momentum spectra in p-p and Au-Au collisions are computed in perturbative QCD at RHIC energy, s^1/2 = 200 GeV. Next-to-leading order calculations are discussed and compared with p-p scattering data. Subsequently, quenching factors are computed to leading order for both pions and photons within the same energy loss model. The good agreement with PHENIX preliminary data allows for a lower estimate of the energy density reached in central Au-Au collisions, epsilon > 10 GeV/fm^3. Double inclusive photon-pion production in p-p and Au-Au collisions is t…
The method to simulate the rescattering and energy loss of hard partons in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions has been developed. The model is a fast Monte-Carlo tool introduced to modify a standard PYTHIA jet event. The full heavy ion event is obtained as a superposition of a soft hydro-type state and hard multi-jets. The model is applied to analysis of the jet quenching pattern at RHIC.
Within the picture of jet quenching induced by multiple parton scattering and gluon bremsstrahlung, medium modification of parton fragmentation functions and therefore the suppression of large transverse momentum hadron spectra are controlled by both the value and the space-time profile of the jet transport parameter along the jet propagation path. Experimental data on single hadron suppression in high-energy heavy-ion collisions at the RHIC energy are analyzed within the higher-twist (HT) approach to the medium modified fragmentation functions and the next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative …
We analyze the centrality dependence of thermal parameters describing hadron multiplicities, hadron spectra and dilepton spectra in heavy-ion collisions at SPS and RHIC energies.
The dynamics of partons, hadrons and strings in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions is analyzed within the novel Parton-Hadron-String Dynamics (PHSD) transport approach, which is based on a dynamical quasiparticle model for partons (DQPM) matched to reproduce recent lattice-QCD results -- including the partonic equation of state -- in thermodynamic equilibrium. The transition from partonic to hadronic degrees of freedom is described by covariant transition rates for the fusion of quark-antiquark pairs or three quarks (antiquarks), respectively, obeying flavor current-conservation, color ne…
In these proceedings we will present the preliminary identified single particle inclusive spectra, the identified particle elliptic flow and the HBT versus the reaction plane measured with the STAR detector at RHIC. So far none of the theoretical space-time models has been able to describe the combination of these measurements consistently. In order to see if our measurements can be understood in the context of a simple hydro-motivated blast wave model we extract the relevant parameters for this model, and show that it leads to a consistent description of these observables.
In this paper, an improved multi-source thermal model is used to analyze the transverse momentum spectra in $pp$ collisions at high energies ranging from $\sqrt{\mathrm{\it s_{NN}}}$ = 62.4 GeV to 7 TeV. We give a detailed comparison between the theoretical results and experimental data at RHIC and LHC energies. It is shown that the excitation factors of emission sources depend linearly on ln$\sqrt{\mathrm{\it s_{NN}}}$ in the framework. Based on the variation regularity of the source-excitation factors, transverse momentum spectra are predicted in $pp$ collisions at higher energies, potential…
Single prompt photon and pion spectra in p-p and Au-Au collisions at intermediate RHIC energy, s^1/2 = 62.4 GeV, are computed at large transverse momentum in perturbative QCD. Next-to-leading order calculations in p-p scattering are first presented. The quenching of the prompt photon and pion yield due to energy loss processes in central Au-Au with respect to p-p collisions is then predicted. At this energy, the small phase-space available to produce hard partons makes the pion quenching almost as pronounced as at s^1/2 = 200 GeV, despite the smaller gluon density of the produced medium. In th…
Based on the data-driven analysis, the mid-rapidity transverse momentum spectra of charged hadrons produced in central and peripheral gold-gold (Au-Au) collisions from the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at the relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) are fitted by the blast-wave model with Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics. The model result are in agreement with the experimental data measured by the STAR Collaboration at the RHIC-BES energies. We observe that the kinetic freeze-out temperature, transverse flow velocity, mean transverse momentum, and initial temperature increase with the collision energ…
The IP-Glasma model of CGC combined with the Lund model of PYTHIA provides a very successful description of hadron production from gluon dominated non-equilibrium matter in various small collision systems. This new CGC+PYTHIA framework, naturally reproduces several characteristic features of the hadronic observables such as the mass ordering of $v_{2}(p_{T})$ and $\langle p_{T}\rangle$, often ascribed to collectivity driven by hydrodynamics at the LHC. In this contribution we extend our work to provide a systematic comparison of particle spectra and multiplicity distributions in p+p and d+Au c…
We present a study on the spectra and elliptic flow v2 for heavy flavor (charm and bottom) decayed electrons provided the relative contributions of charm and bottom hadrons from the PYTHIA calculations. We made a simultaneous fit to both measured non-photonic electron spectra and v2 distributions. The results suggest that the bottom contribution is not dominant for electron pt<5 GeV/c in the 200 GeV Au+Au collisions.
Using a hybrid (viscous hydrodynamics + hadronic cascade) framework, we model the bulk dynamical evolution of relativistic heavy-ion collisions at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) Beam Energy Scan (BES) collision energies, including the effects from non-zero net baryon current and its dissipative diffusion. This framework is in full (3+1)D, which allows us to study the non-trivial longitudinal structure and dynamics of the collision systems, for example baryon stopping and transport, as well as longitudinal fluctuations. For the first time, the quantitative effect of net-baryon diffusion…
Using a model for the evolution of the fireball created in Au-Au collisions at full RHIC energy which reproduces the hadronic single particle spectra and two-particle correlations we calculate thermal photon emission from the hot partonic and hadronic matter. We present predictions for both the emitted photon transverse momentum spectrum and Hanbury-Brown Twiss (HBT) correlations. Surprisingly, we find that due to the strong transverse flow in the model photon emission from hadronic matter is sizeable in the momentum range expected to be dominated by thermal emission and that consequently the …
We present a systematic study of transverse mass spectra ($m_T$) of mesons and baryons at RHIC and LHC energies. In an earlier study, it was shown that all the mesons produced in p+p and d+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV follow $m_T$ scaling while in Au+Au collisions at same energy the mesons with strange and charm quark contents do not follow $m_T$ scaling which can be attributed to medium modifications. We extend this study for baryons produced in all above colliding systems at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV. Although all available baryon spectra behave differently from mesons but are …
