Based upon the rate equations for the photon distribution function obtained in the previous paper, we study the inverse Compton scattering process for high-energy nonthermal electrons. Assuming the power-law electron distribution, we find a scaling law in the probability distribution function P_1(s), where the peak height and peak position depend only on the power index parameter. We solved the rate equation analytically. It is found that the spectral intensity function also has the scaling law, where the peak height and peak position depend only on the power index parameter. The present study will be particularly important to the analysis of the X-ray and gamma-ray emission models from various astrophysical objects such as radio galaxies and supernova remnants.
The evaporations of Primordial Black Holes (PBH) (via Hawking radiation) can produce electrons/positrons ($e^-/e^+$) in the Galactic Centre (GC) region which under the influence of the magnetic field of Centre region can emit synchrotron radiation. These $e^-/e^+$ can also induce Inverse Compton radiation due to the scattering with ambient photons. In this work three different PBH mass distributions namely, monochromatic, power law and lognormal distributions are considered to calculate such radiation fluxes. On the other hand, annihilation or decay of dark matter in the Galactic Centre region…
Current and Future Constraints on Dark Matter from Prompt and Inverse-Compton Photon Emission in the Isotropic Diffuse Gamma-ray Background
Dark photon not only provides a portal linking dark sector particles and ordinary matter but also is a well-motivated dark matter candidate. We propose to detect the dark photon dark matter through the inverse Compton-like scattering process $p+γ^\prime \to p+γ$. Thanks to the ultra-high energy primary cosmic rays, we find that such a method is able to probe the dark photon mass from $10^{-2}$ eV down to $10^{-19}$ eV with the expected sensitivity of eROSITA $X$-ray telescope, which can extend the current lower limit of dark photon mass from Jupiter's magnetic fields experiment by about three …
In the present paper, we consider the process of inverse double Compton (IDC) scattering in the context of astrophysical applications. It is assumed that the two hard X-ray photons emitted from an astrophysical source are scattered on a free electron and converted into a single soft photon of optical range. Using QED S-matrix formalism for the derivation of a cross-section of direct double Compton (DDC) and assuming detailed balance conditions we give an analytical expression for the cross-section of the IDC process. It is shown that at fixed energies of incident photons the inverse cross-sect…
The thermal Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (tSZ) effect is the distortion generated in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) spectrum by the inverse-Compton scattering of CMB photons off free, energetic electrons, primarily located in the intracluster medium (ICM). Cosmic infrared background (CIB) photons from thermal dust emission in star-forming galaxies are expected to undergo the same process. In this work, we perform the first calculation of the resulting tSZ-like distortion in the CIB. Focusing on the CIB monopole, we use a halo model approach to calculate both the CIB signal and the Compton-$y$ fie…
Implications on the blazar sequence and inverse Compton models from Fermi bright blazars
In this paper, we use the quasi-simultaneous spectra of Fermi bright blazars and Fermi detected narrow line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) to study the blazar sequence and inverse Compton (IC) models. I. The synchrotron peak luminosities ( L_{s} ) significantly inverse correlate with the synchrotron peak frequencies (ν_{s}), L_{s} \propto ν_{s}^{-0.44}, which is consistent with the blazar sequence. In addition to the correlation, there are some blazars showing low ν_{s} and low L_{s} . To study the relation between these low ν_{s} low L_{s} blazars and the blazar sequence, we present correlations of the par…
