We investigate the finite-temperature spectral functions of heavy quarkonia by using the soft-wall AdS/QCD model. We discuss the scalar, the pseudo-scalar, the vector, and the axial-vector mesons and compare their qualitative features of the melting temperature and growing width. We find that the axial-vector meson melts earlier than the vector meson, while there appears only a slight difference between the scalar and pseudo-scalar mesons which also melt earlier than the vector meson.
A calculation of the melting temperatures of heavy quarkonium states with the holographic potential was introduced in a previous work. In this paper, we consider the holographic potential at sub-leading order, which permits finite coupling corrections to be taken into account. It is found that this correction lowers the dissociation temperatures of heavy quarkonium.
A holographic model of probe vector mesons (quarkonia) is presented, where the dynamical gravity-dilaton background is adjusted to the thermodynamics of 2 +1 flavor QCD with physical quark masses. The vector meson action is modified to account for various quark masses. We focus on the $Φ$, $J/ψ$ and $Υ$ meson melting in agreement with hadron phenomenology in heavy-ion collisions at LHC, that is the formation of hadrons at the observed freeze-out temperature of 155 MeV.
We give a further study on the improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model with two flavors. The chiral transition behaviors are studied in the case of finite chemical potential, with the chiral phase diagram obtained at zero quark mass. The thermal spectral functions of the vector and axial-vector mesons are calculated, and the in-medium melting properties of the mesons are investigated. We find that the chiral transition behaviors and the meson melting properties at finite chemical potential can be qualitatively described by the improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model, except in the region of large chemical p…
We investigate the in-medium behavior of mesons at finite temperature and baryon chemical potential within a soft-wall model of AdS/QCD. We use a quartic scalar potential to obtain the correct form of chiral symmetry breaking. At zero quark mass the chiral phase transition is second-order, becoming a crossover at physical quark mass. At zero baryon chemical potential, we find a chiral transition temperature of 155 MeV in the chiral limit and a pseudo-transition temperature of 151 MeV at physical quark mass, consistent with lattice results. In the low-temperature limit, the second-order transit…
We study the melting temperature of heavy mesons in the hot medium of light quarks. By solving the covariant Schrödinger equations at finite temperature for mesons $D$, $ϕ$ and $J/ψ$, we obtained the temperature dependence of their masses, binding energies and averaged sizes and found the flavor dependence of the melting temperature: $T_D \simeq T_ϕ< T_{J/ψ}$. The sequential melting temperature can explain the difference in meson elliptic flow observed in heavy ion collisions.
We consider an AdS/QCD model at finite temperature with a dilaton field that we call thermal because, in addition to depending on the holographic coordinate, it also depends on temperature. We study two thermal dilatons in this work such that at $T=0$ they are reduced to the dilatons used by some authors. With these thermal dilatons it is possible to obtain melting temperatures for mesons close to $180$ MeV and also make predictions for other hadrons. We use a procedure based on the analysis of the holographic potential related to the E.O.M. for modes dual to hadrons to calculate melting tempe…
The relativistic correction of the AdS/CFT implied heavy quark potential is examined within the framework of the potential model. For the typical range of the coupling strength appropriate to heavy-ion collisions, we find the correction is significant in size and lowers the dissociation temperature of quarkonia.
We show that AdS/QCD generates predictions for the rate of diffractive rho meson electroproduction that are in agreement with data collected at the HERA electron-proton collider.
We propose a modification of soft-wall holographic model that in combination with the light-front holographic QCD leads to a broad hydrogen-like degeneracy of the same sort as the degeneracy observed experimentally in the spectrum of light mesons.
We consider the light-front wave function for the valence quark state of mesons using the AdS/CFT correspondence, as has been suggested by Brodsky and Teramond. Two kinds of wave functions, obtained in different holographic Soft-Wall models, are discussed.
A holographic description of scalar mesons is presented, in which two- and three-point functions are holographically reconstructed. Mass spectrum, decay constants, eigenfunctions and the coupling of the scalar states with two pseu- doscalars are found. A comparison of the results with current phenomenology is discussed.
We consider the light-front holographic QCD with the light-front wave functions for mesons, modified for massive quarks. We evaluate the wave functions, distribution amplitudes, and form factors for $π$, $ρ$, $K$, and $J/ψ$ mesons and photon-to-meson transition form factors for $π$, $η$, and $η^\prime$ mesons. The results are compared with the experimental data, wherever available.
We study the mass spectrum and decay constants of light and heavy mesons in a soft-wall holographic approach, using the correspondence of string theory in Anti-de Sitter space and conformal field theory in physical space-time.
We use an AdS/QCD holographic wavefunction to generate predictions for the rate of diffractive ρ-meson electroproduction that are in reasonable agreement with data collected at the HERA electron-proton collider.
We predict observables in radiative B decays to vector mesons using holographic AdS/QCD Distribution Amplitudes for the vector mesons. We find that end-point divergences can be avoided when computing power-suppressed contributions in the heavy quark limit. The results reported here can be found in references [1] and [2].
The light-front wavefunction for mesons predicted by holographic light-front QCD is used to obtain the light-cone distribution amplitudes for the light vector mesons and the transition form factors for B and $B_s$ decays to $ρ$, $K^*$ and $ϕ$ mesons. Here, I present some of our predictions as compared to lattice QCD, OCD sum rules and the available experimental data.
We focus on the chiral and heavy quark mass expansion of mesons masses and decay constants. We propose a light-front QCD formalism for the evaluation of these quantities, consistent with chiral perturbation theory and heavy quark effective theory.
We demonstrate another success of the AdS/QCD correspondence by showing that an AdS/QCD holographic light-front wavefunction for the $ρ$ meson generates predictions for the cross-sections of diffractive $ρ$ production that are in agreement with data collected at the HERA electron-proton collider.
We discuss a holographic soft-wall model developed for the description of mesons and baryons with adjustable quantum numbers n, J, L, S. This approach is based on an action which describes hadrons with broken conformal invariance and which incorporates confinement through the presence of a background dilaton field.
We discuss the light-front wave function for the valence quark state of mesons using the AdS/CFT correspondence. We consider two kinds of wave functions obtained in different holographic Soft-Wall approaches
The interrelation between the deconfinement temperature of hadron medium and parameters of radial Regge trajectories within the bottom-up holographic models for QCD is scrutinized. We show that the lattice data on the deconfinement temperature can yield a powerful restriction on the spectrum of excited mesons and glueballs within the framework of holographic approach. The best phenomenological agreement and theoretical self-consistency are achieved if the scalar meson $f_0(1500)$ is considered as the lightest glueball.
Central heavy-ion collisions may induce sizeable fluctuations of the topological charge. This effect is expected to distort the dispersion relation for the hadron masses. We construct a general setup for a compact description of this phenomenon in the framework of bottom-up holographic approach to QCD. A couple of soft wall holographic models are proposed for the vector mesons. The states having different circular polarizations are shown to have different effective mass. The requirement of stability imposes strong constraints on the possible choice of models.
We predict the cross-section for diffractive $ϕ$ electroproduction within the dipole model, using a holographic meson wavefunction for the $ϕ$. For the dipole cross-section, we use the Color Glass Condensate dipole model whose parameters are fitted to the latest 2015 combined HERA data on Deep Inelastic Scattering. Choosing a strange quark mass of $0.14$ GeV, we find good agreement with the available data.
We consider the electromagnetic form factors of strange vector, axial vector and pseudoscalar mesons in a holographic QCD model. We find the charge radius of charged kaon agrees with the experiment, while the charge radius of charged pion is a little bit smaller than the experimental value, as obtained in other calculations in the hard-wall holographic QCD models. The charge radii of charged rho and $K^\ast$ quantitatively agree with a recent Dyson-Schwinger equation calculation. We also present the electric form factors of vector, axial vector and pseudoscalar mesons in both space-like and ti…
We investigate vector meson spectral functions at finite temperature and density through the soft wall model, a bottom-up holographic approach to QCD. We find narrow resonances at small values of the parameters, becoming broader as temperature and density increase. We study dissociation of such states, occurring when no peak can be distinguished in the spectral function. We also find a decreasing of the mass of vector mesons at increasing temperature and density. Finally, a discussion of these results is presented.
We study a meson mass splitting due to isospin violation in holographic dense matter. We work in a D4/D6/D6 model with two quark flavor branes to consider asymmetric dense matter in holographic QCD. We mainly consider two cases. We first consider $m^+/m^-\sim m_d/m_u$ to study the effect of isospin violation on the meson masses. Then, we take $m^+/m^-\sim m_s/m_q$, where $m_q\sim(m_u+m_d)/2$, to calculate in-medium kaon-like meson masses. In both cases we observe that the mass splitting of charged mesons occurs at low densities due to the asymmetry, while at high densities their masses become …
Mesons and baryons are considered in soft-wall holographic approach based on the correspondence of string theory in AdS space and conformal field theory in physical space-time. The model generates Regge trajectories linear in n and J (L) for the hadronic mass spectrum. Results obtained for heavy-light meson masses and decay constants are consistent with predictions of HQET. In the baryon sector applications to the nucleon electromagnetic form factors and generalized parton distributions are discussed.
We use an anti-de Sitter/Quantum Chromodynamics (AdS/QCD) holographic light-front wavefunction for the $ρ$ and $ϕ$ mesons, in conjunction with the Color Glass Condensate (CGC) dipole cross-section whose parameters are fitted to the most recent 2015 high precision HERA data on inclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS), in order to predict the cross-sections for diffractive $ρ$ and $ϕ$ electroproduction. Our results suggest that the holographic meson light-front wavefunction is able to give a simultaneous description of the $ρ$ and $ϕ$ production data provided we use a set of light quark masses …
In this paper, minimal coupling constants of meson-$Δ$ baryon and meson-nucleon to $Δ$ baryon transition have been investigated in the AdS/QCD soft-wall model at finite temperature limits. Initially, the right and left profile functions of $Δ$ baryons have been calculated using the Rarita-Schwinger field in this model. After this, coupling constants have been written by taking into account the profile functions of thermal hadrons according to the zero-temperature case. Then, the temperature dependence graphs are plotted for strong couplings $g_{ρΔΔ}(T)$, $g_{a_{1} ΔΔ}(T)$ and $g_{ρN Δ}(T)$. As…
We study scalar glueballs and scalar mesons at $T \neq 0$ in the soft wall holographic QCD model. We find that, using the Anti-de Sitter-Black Hole metric for all values of the temperature, the masses of the hadronic states decrease and the widths become broader when T increases, and there are temperatures for which the states disappear from the scalar glueball and scalar meson spectral functions. However, the values of the temperatures in correspondence of which such phenomena occur are low, of the order of 40-60 MeV. A consistent holographic description of in-medium effects on hadron propert…
Mesons with quantum numbers $J^{PC}=1^{-+}$ cannot be represented as simple quark-antiquark pairs. We explore hybrid configurations in the light meson sector comprising a quark, an antiquark and an excited gluon, studying the properties of such states in a phenomenological model inspired by the gauge/gravity correspondence. The computed mass, compared to the experimental mass of the $1^{-+}$ candidates $π_1(1400)$, $π_1(1600)$ and $π_1(2015)$, favous $π_1(1400)$ as the lightest hybrid state. An interesting result concerns the stability of hybrid mesons at finite temperature: they disappear fro…
We predict the $\mathcal{V} \to \mathcal{P} γ$ decay widths and the $\mathcal{V} \to \mathcal{P} γ^{*}$ transition form factors, where $\mathcal{V}=(ρ, ω, K^*, ϕ)$ and $\mathcal{P}= (π,K, η,η^\prime)$, using spin-improved holographic light-front wavefunctions for the mesons. We find excellent agreement with the available data for both the decay widths and the timelike transition form factors extracted from the leptonic conversion decays $\mathcal{V} \to \mathcal{P} l^+ l^-$.
We report on the results of our recent research published in [1] that shows that AdS/QCD generates predictions for the rate of diffractive ρ-meson electroproduction that are in agreement with data collected at the HERA electron-proton collider [2,3]. Preliminary results of this research were presented in [4].
We present the leading-twist quark transverse momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) for the spin-1 target, such as the $ρ$-meson, in the light-front framework. Specifically, we predict the TMDs in the light-front holographic model and compare with the light-front quark model predictions. We obtain the TMDs using the overlap of the light-front wave functions. We evaluate the ${\bf k}_\perp$ moments upto second order and compare with the available theoretical predictions. Further, we analyze the leading-twist parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the $ρ$-meson in the light-fr…
We use gauge/gravity duality to investigate the effect of thermal fluctuations on the dissociation of the quarkonium meson in strongly coupled $(3+1)$-dimensional gauge theories. This is done by studying the instability and probable first order phase transition of a probe D7-brane in the dual gravity theory. We explicitly show that for the Minkowski embeddings with their tips close to the horizon in the background, the long wavelength thermal fluctuations lead to an imaginary term in their action signaling an instability in the system. Due to this instability, a phase transition is expected. O…
The spectrum of radially excited unflavored vector mesons is relatively well measured, especially in the heavy-quark sector. This provides a unique opportunity to observe the behavior of the hadron spectrum at fixed quantum numbers as a function of the quark mass. The experimental data suggests the approximately Regge form for the radial spectrum, M_n^2=An+B, where A and B are growing functions of the quark mass. We use the bottom-up holographic approach to find the functions A and B. The obtained result shows a good agreement with the phenomenology and consistency with some predictions of the…
We consider an analysis of potentials related to Schrödinger-type equations for scalar fields in a 5D AdS black hole background with dilaton in order to get melting temperatures for different hadrons in a thermal bath. The approach does not consider calculations of spectral functions and it is easy to get results for hadrons with an arbitrary number of constituents. We present results for scalar mesons, glueballs, hybrid mesons and tetraquarks, and we show that mesons are more resistant to being melted in a thermal bath than other scalar hadrons, and in general the melting temperature increase…
We discuss a holographic soft-wall model developed for the description of mesons and baryons with adjustable quantum numbers n, J, L, S. This approach is based on an action which describes hadrons with broken conformal invariance and which incorporates confinement through the presence of a background dilaton field. We show that in the case of the bound-state problem (hadronic mass spectrum) two versions of the model with a positive and negative dilaton profile are equivalent to each other by a special transformation of the bulk field. We also comment on recent works which discuss the dilaton s…
We present in this talk a recent investigation on a unified approach within the framework of a hard-wall model of AdS/QCD. We first study a theoretical inconsistency in existing models. In order to remove this inconsistency, we propose a unified approach in which the mesons and the nucleons are treated on the same footing, the same infrared (IR) cutoff being employed in both fermionic and bosonic sectors. We also suggest a possible way of improving the model by introducing a five-dimensional anomalous dimension.
Coupling constants of $ρ$- and $ω$- meson-nucleon are related with each other by isospin relation. In present work, it is aimed at studying the violation (if it exists) of isospin symmetry of the $ω$-meson and to study the temperature dependence of $ω$-meson-nucleon-delta and $ω$-meson-delta coupling constants using the soft-wall model of holographic QCD. Firstly, the coupling constants are obtained by applying the profile functions of the vector and fermion fields to the model at a finite temperature. The interaction Lagrangian is written, including the minimum and magnetic interactions of ve…
We show the 't Hooft Equation and the light-front holographic Schrödinger Equation are complementary to each other in governing the transverse and longitudinal dynamics of colour confinement in quark-antiquark mesons. Together, they predict remarkably well the light, heavy-light and heavy-heavy meson spectroscopic data. The universal emerging hadronic scale of light-front holography, $κ\approx 0.5$ GeV, controls the transverse dynamics of confinement in all mesons. In heavy-heavy mesons, it also coincides numerically with the 't Hooft coupling which governs longitudinal confinement, thus refle…
A hadron's multiquark content reflects itself in the quark composition of the interpolator with which it has maximal overlap. The AdS/CFT dictionary translates the anomalous dimension of this interpolator into a mass correction for the corresponding dual mode. Hence such bulk-mass corrections can carry holographic information on multiquark correlations. Two prominent examples are studied by implementing this robust and universal mechanism into AdS/QCD gravity duals. In the baryon sector bulk-mass corrections are used to describe systematic good (i.e. maximally attractive) diquark effects. The …
We calculate the contribution of the higher twist Feynman diagrams to the large-$p_T$ inclusive pion production cross section in proton-proton collisions in the case of the running and frozen coupling approaches within holographic QCD. The structure of infrared renormalon singularities of the higher twist subprocess cross section and it's resummed expression are found. We compare the resummed higher twist cross sections with the ones obtained in the framework of the frozen coupling approximation and leading twist cross section. We discuss the phenomenological consequences of possible higher-tw…
We study the wave functions of light and heavy mesons in both hard-wall (HW) and soft-wall (SW) holographic models which use AdS/CFT correspondence. In the case of massless constituents, the asymptotic behaviors of the electromagnetic form factor, the distribution amplitudes, and the decay constants for the two models are the same, if the relation between the dilaton scale parameter and the size of meson is an inverse proportion. On the other hand, by introducing a quark mass dependence in the wave function, the differences of the distribution amplitudes between the two models are obvious. In …
We establish a holographic QCD model for four flavors, where a light scalar field $X$ and a heavy scalar field $H$ are introduced, separately. The $H$ field is responsible for the breaking of $SU(N_f=4)$ to $SU(N_f=3)$. The ground state and its Regge excitation of meson spectra in the light flavor sector and heavy flavor sector as well as the ligh-heavy mesons are well in agreement with the Particle data group (PDG). Due to the additional introduction of the $H$ field in the model, different Regge slopes for light and heavy mesons can be achieved.
We use the no-wall holographic approach (a relative of the soft-wall one) to construct a universal description of vector mesons with arbitrary quark masses. The proposed model predicts a specific dependence of the parameters of radial Regge trajectories on the quark masses in a reasonable agreement with the meson phenomenology and some theoretical expectations.

The fraction of heavy vector mesons produced in a heavy ion collision, as compared to a proton proton collision, serves as an important indication of the formation of a thermal medium, the quark gluon plasma. This sort of analysis strongly depends on understanding the thermal effects of a medium like the plasma on the states of heavy mesons. In particular, it is crucial to know the temperature ranges where they undergo a thermal dissociation, or melting. AdS/QCD models are know to provide an important tool for the calculation of hadronic masses, but in general are not consistent with the obser…
