We present a summary of our recent analysis update of flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) processes in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT). The essential novelties of our update are: the removal of the logarithmic UV cutoff dependence by the inclusion of the new contribution to the Z^0-penguin diagrams identified by Goto et al. and by del Aguila et al., the study of the decay K_L -> mu^+ mu^-, a discussion of fine-tuning in epsilon_K and Br(mu -> e gamma).
In the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT) the newly introduced mirror quarks have flavor-changing couplings with the Standard Model (SM) quarks and may enhance the flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) top quark interactions which are extremely suppressed in the SM. In this work we perform a comprehensive study for the contributions of these mirror fermions to various top quark FCNC decays and productions at the LHC, which includes the decays t-> c V (V=g, γ, Z), t -> cgg and the productions proceeding through the parton processes cg -> t, gg -> t c_bar, cg -> tg, cg -> tγand cg -> t Z.…
Motivated by the search for flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) top quark decays at the LHC, we calculate rare Higgs three body decay $H\rightarrow Wbc$ induced by top-Higgs FCNC coupling in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity(LHT). We find that the branching ratios of $H\rightarrow Wbc$ in the LHT model can reach $\mathcal O(10^{-7})$ in the allowed parameter space.
Motivated by the current observation of a 125 GeV Higgs boson, we calculate $t\rightarrow cH$ and $t\rightarrow cg(γ)H$ in the unitary gauge in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity(LHT). Due to the large contribution from the new mirror fermions, we find that the branching ratios of $t\rightarrow cH$ and $t\rightarrow cgH$ can be greatly enhanced in the LHT model and maximally reach $\mathcal O(10^{-5})$ in the allowed parameter space. When the mirror fermion mass $M_3 > 2(1.5)$ TeV and the cut-off scale $f=500$ GeV, the process of $pp \to t\bar{t} \to 3b +c +\ell+ \slashed E_{T}^{miss}$ can…
In the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT) new flavor-changing interactions between mirror fermions and the Standard Model (SM) fermions can induce various FCNC decays for B-mesons, Z-boson and Higgs boson. Since all these decays induced in the LHT model are correlated, we in this work perform a collective study for these decays, namely the Z-boson decay Z -> b s_bar, the Higgs boson decay h -> b s_bar, and the B-meson decays B -> X_s γ, B_s -> μ^+μ^- and B -> X_s μ^+ μ^-. We find that under the current experimental constraints from the B-decays, the branching ratios of both Z -> b s_bar …
We analyze the rare and flavor changing decay of the top quark into a charm quark and a gauge boson in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT). We calculate the one-loop level contributions from the T-parity odd mirror quarks and gauge bosons. We find that the decay $t\to c V, (V=g,γ,Z)$ in the LHT model can be significantly enhanced relative to those in the Standard Model. Our numerical results show that the top quark FCNC decay can be as large as $Br(t\to cg)\sim 10^{-2}$, $Br(t\to cZ)\sim 10^{-5}$ and $Br(t\to cγ)\sim 10^{-7}$ in the favorite parameter space in the LHT model.
Taking into account the constraints on the free parameters of the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (called $LHT$ model) from some rare decay processes, such as $μ\rightarrow eγ$ and $μ\rightarrow 3e$, we consider the contributions of the $LHT$ model to the lepton flavor violating ($LFV$) processes $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow l_{i}\bar{l}_{j}$ and $γγ\rightarrow l_{i}\bar{l}_{j}$ ($i\neq j$). We find that the $LHT$ model can indeed produce significant contributions to these $LFV$ processes and its $LFV$ signal might has a chance of being observed in the future $ILC$ experiments.
The littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT) has new flavor-changing (FC) couplings with the Standard Model (SM) quarks, which do not suffer strong constraints from electroweak precision data. So these FC interactions may enhance the cross sections of some flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) processes. In this work, we study the FC top-charm associated productions via $e^{-}γ$ collision at the ILC. We find that the cross sections are sensitive to the mirror quark masses. With reasonable values of the parameters, the cross sections may reach the detectable level and provide useful informatio…
We update our 2006-2007 results for FCNC processes in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT). The removal of the logarithmic UV cutoff dependence in our previous results through a new contribution to the Z^0-penguin diagrams identified by Goto et al. and del Aguila et al., while making the deviations from the SM expectations in the quark sector less spectacular, still allows for sizable new physics effects in K -> pi nu anti-nu and K_L -> pi^0 l^+ l^- decays and in the CP-asymmetry S_{psi phi} with the latter unaffected by the new contribution. We extend our analysis by a study of the fi…
We discuss the mixing matrix V_Hd that describes the charged and neutral current interactions between ordinary down-quarks and up- and down-mirror quarks in the Littlest Higgs Model with T-parity (LHT). We point out that this matrix in addition to three mixing angles contains three physical complex phases and not only one as used in the present literature. We explain the reason for the presence of two additional phases, propose a new standard parameterization of V_Hd and briefly comment on the relevance of these new phases for the phenomenology of FCNC processes in the LHT model. In a separate…
In the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT) the mirror quarks induce the special flavor structures and some new flavor-changing (FC) couplings which could greatly enhance the production rates of the FC processes. We in this paper study some bottom and anti-strange production processes in the LHT model at the International Linear Collider (ILC), i.e., $e^+e^-\rightarrow b\bar{s}$ and $γγ\rightarrow b\bar{s}$. The results show that the production rates of these processes are sizeable for the favorable values of the parameters. Therefore, it is quite possible to test the LHT model or make som…

With high luminosity and energy at the ILC and clean SM backgrounds, the top-charm production at the ILC should have powerful potential to probe new physics. The littlest Higgs model with discrete symmetry named "T-parity"(LHT) is one of the most promising new physics models. In this paper, we study the FC processes $e^+e^-(γγ)\to t\bar{c}$ at the ILC in the LHT model. Our study shows that the LHT model can make a significant contribution to these processes. When the masses of mirror quarks become large, these two processes are accessible at the ILC. So the top-charm production at the ILC prov…
Flavor changing effects on the processes \tch, \eebs, \eebsh and \ppbs in the LHT model are investigated in this paper. We calculate the one-loop level contributions from the T-parity odd mirror quarks and gauge bosons. The results show that the top quark rare decay \tch in the LHT model can be significantly enhanced relative to that in the SM. The $b\bar{s}$ production at linear colliders in the LHT model can enhance the SM cross section a lot and reach 0.1 fb in some parameter space allowed in the experiment. But the heavy gauge boson and mirror fermion loops have small contribution to the p…
The Higgs boson production processes $e^{+}e^{-}\to ZH$, $e^{+}e^{-}\to \bar{ν_{e}}ν_{e}H$, and $e^{+}e^{-}\to t\bar{t}H$ are very important for studying Higgs boson properties and further testing new physics beyond the standard model($SM$) in the high energy linear $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider($ILC$). We estimate the contributions of the littlest Higgs model with T-parity($LHT$ model) to these processes and find that the $LHT$ model can generate significantly corrections to the production cross sections of these processes. We expect the possible signals of the $LHT$ model can be detected via these p…
The littlest Higgs model with discrete symmetry named "T-parity"(LHT) is an interesting new physics model which does not suffer strong constraints from electroweak precision data. One of the important features of the LHT model is the existence of new source of FC interactions between the SM fermions and the mirror fermions. These FC interactions can make significant loop-level contributions to the couplings $tcV$, and furthermore enhance the cross sections of the FC single-top quark production processes. In this paper, we study some FC single-top quark production processes, $pp\to t\bar{c}$ an…
The photon-induced processes at the $LHC$ provide clean experimental conditions due to absence of the proton remnants, which might produce complementary and interesting results for tests of the standard model and for searching of new physics. In the context of the littlest $Higgs$ model with T-parity, we consider the photon-induced production of the mirror quarks at the $LHC$. The cross sections for various production channels are calculated and a simply phenomenology analysis is performed by assuming leptonic decays.
Many extensions of the Standard Model(SM) generate contributions to Flavor Changing Neutral Current(FCNC) processes that must have sufficient flavor suppression to be consistent with experiments, if the new physics (NP) is associated with a scale of a TeV. Here we present a mechanism for suppressing the NP effects to FCNC processes. We consider the possibility that the source of NP contributions to FCNC processes share the same flavor symmetry underlying the SM source of FCNC processes which are the quark and lepton mass matrices. We call this the principle of shared flavor symmetry. In the fl…
In this work we analyse a non-minimal Lorentz-violating extension of the electroweak theory in the fermionic sector. Firstly we analyse the relation between the CKM rotation in the quark sector and possible contributions of this new coupling to flavour changing neutral currents (FCNC) processes. In sequel we look for non-diagonal terms through possible leptonic flavour violation (LFV) decays. Strong bounds are presented to the Lorentz violating parameters of both the quark and the leptonic sectors.
We calculate flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes with top-quark production via anomalous couplings at LHC energies. We report on progress on the FCNC processes gu -> tZ, gu -> t gamma and gu -> tg. We go beyond leading order and include soft-gluon corrections through next-to-next-to-leading order.
In this work, we present a Mathematica package Peng4BSM@LO which calculates the contributions to the Wilson Coefficients of certain effective operators originating from the one-loop penguin Feynman diagrams. Both vector and scalar external legs are considered. The key feature of our package is the ability to find the corresponding expressions in almost any New Physics model which extends the SM and has no flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) transitions at the tree level.
FCNC processes are expected to offer us a deep insight into the physics at very short distance scales. We present a list of 20 goals in quark and lepton flavour physics that could be reached already in the next decade. This list includes also flavour conserving observables like electric dipole moments of the neutron and leptons and (g-2)_μ. Subsequently we will present some aspects of these goals by concentrating on supersymmetric flavour models. A much more extensive presentation of this material can be found in my recent EPS09 talk.
Flavor changing neutral current and lepton flavor violating processes are studied in the SU(5) SUSY-GUT with right-handed neutrino supermultiplets. Using input parameters motivated by neutrino oscillation, it is shown that the time-dependent CP asymmetry of $b \to s γ$ can be as large as 20%. We also show that the $B_s$-$\bar{B}_s$ mixing can be significantly different from the standard model prediction.
Based on the $SU(3)_{F}$ gauge family symmetry model which was proposed to explain the observed mass and mixing pattern of neutrinos, we investigate the symmetry breaking, the mixing pattern in quark and lepton sectors, and the contribution of the new gauge bosons to some flavour changing neutral currents (FCNC) processes at low energy. With the current data of the mass differences in the neutral pseudo-scalar $P^{0}-\bar{P}^{0}$ systems, we find that the $SU(3)_{F}$ symmetry breaking scale can be as low as 300TeV and the mass of the lightest gauge boson be about $100$TeV. Other FCNC processes…
The littlest $Higgs$ model with T-parity (called the $LHT$ model) predicts the existence of the T-odd leptons, which can generate contributions to some leptonic processes at the one-loop level. We calculate their contributions to the leptonic $Z$ decay processes $Z\to l\bar{l'}$, $Z\to l\bar{l}$, and $Z\rightarro ν\barν$. We find that the T-odd leptons can give significant contributions to the branching ratios of these decay processes in most of the parameter space. The experimental measurement values might generate constraints on the free parameters of the $LHT$ model.
We calculate flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) processes involving top-quark production via anomalous tqV couplings at the Tevatron and HERA colliders. We cover the FCNC processes p pbar -> t Z, p pbar -> t gamma, p pbar -> t t, and e p -> e t. We go beyond leading order and include the effects of soft-gluon corrections through next-to-next-to-leading order. We demonstrate the stabilisation of the cross section with respect to the variation of QCD scale, and we investigate the reach of the Tevatron and HERA colliders.
We systematically calculate various flavor-changing neutral-current top-quark processes induced by supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider, which include five decay modes and six production channels. To reveal the characteristics of these processes, we first compare the dependence of the rates for these channels on the relevant supersymmetric parameters, then we scan the whole parameter space to find their maximal rates, including all the direct and indirect current experimental constraints on the scharm-stop flavor mixings. We find that, under all these constraints, only a few channels, th…
We study the invisible scalar of $S$ in charmed meson and baryon decays with flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) based on the model-independent effective Lagrangian between the quarks and invisible scalar. From the bounds of the coupling constants extracted from the recent BES III experiment on the decay of $D^{0}\toπ^{0}\barνν$, we predict that the decay branching ratios of $D^{+}\toπ^{+}S$, $D_s^+\to K^+S$, $Λ_c\to pS$, $Ξ_c^{0(+)}\to Σ^{0(+)}S$, and $Ξ_c^0\toΛS$ can be as large as $10.6,~2.53,~2.39,~0.963,~5.77$, and $2.92\times10^{-4}$ with $m_{_S}\approx 1.1~{\rm GeV}$, respectively.…
We consider FCNC and CP violating processes mediated by gluino exchange in generalized supersymmetric theories. We present the constraints on flavour (F) changing squark mass terms at the electroweak energy scale, focusing our analysis on $ΔF = 2$ transitions. Results are also given for $ΔF = 1$ CP conserving processes both in the hadronic and leptonic sectors, while we limit ourselves to some remarks on the relevance of box diagrams in the evaluation of $ε^{\prime}/ε$.
Rare B meson decays mediated by flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) transition play interesting role to probe the flavour sector of the standard model (SM). Generally at the tree level, FCNC processes are not allowed in the SM but occurs at the loop levels. This gives an excellent hunting ground for new physics (NP). From various experimental studies it is found that the FCNC processes having quark level transition $b \to s$ are challenging. Here, we investigate different kinematic observables like forward-backward asymmetry, differential branching ratio and lepton polarization asymmetry f…
We have studied the sensitivity to flavor changing neutral current interaction of top and Higgs boson at the future circular collider in the hadron-hadron collision mode (FCC-hh). Our main concerns are the processes of $pp\rightarrow th$ (FCNC production) and $pp\rightarrow t\bar{t}$ (one top FCNC decay) which contributes to the single lepton, at least three jets and the missing energy transverse in the final state. On the one hand FCC-hh offers very high luminosity and large cross section for these signal processes, on the other hand signal can be distinguished from background which needs app…
We present SUSY_FLAVOR version 2.5 - program that calculates over 30 low-energy flavor observables in the general $R$-parity conserving MSSM. Comparing to previous versions, in SUSY_FLAVOR v2.5 parameter initialization in SLHA2 formats has been significantly generalized, so that the program accepts most of the output files produced by other libraries analyzing the MSSM phenomenology. Number of bugs and inconsistencies have been fixed, based on users feedback. Calculations of several processes implemented in earlier versions have been corrected. New processes of rare decays of the top quark to …
The new particles predicted by the topcolor-assisted technicolor ($TC2$) model and the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (called $LHT$ model) can induce the lepton flavor violation ($LFV$) couplings at tree level or one loop level, which might generate large contributions to some $LFV$ processes. Taking into account the constraints of the experimental data on the relevant free parameters, we calculate the branching ratios of the $LFV$ decay processes $τ^-\toμ^- P_1 P_2 $ with $P_1 P_2$ = $π^+π^-$, $K^+K^-$ and $K^0\bar{K^0}$ in the context of these two kinds of new physics models. We find tha…
Chirally enhanced supersymmetric QCD corrections to FCNC processes are investigated in the framework of the MSSM with generic sources of flavor violation. These corrections arise from flavor-changing self-energy diagrams and can be absorbed into a finite renormalization of the squark-quark-gluino vertex. In this way enhanced two-loop and even three-loop diagrams can be efficiently included into a leading-order (LO) calculation. Our corrections substantially change the values of the parameters delta^{d,LL}_{23}, delta^{d,LR}_{23}, delta^{d,RL}_{23}, and delta^{d,RR}_{23} extracted from Br[B->X_…
We address the viability of exact Yukawa unification in the context of general SUSY GUTs with universal soft-breaking sfermion and gaugino mass terms at the GUT scale. We find that this possibility is challenged, unless the squark spectrum is pushed well above the limits allowed by naturalness. This conclusion is assessed through a global fit using electroweak observables and quark flavour-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes. The problem is mostly the impossibility of accommodating simultaneously the bottom mass and the BR(B --> Xs gamma), after the stringent CDF upper bound on the decay…
In the supersymmetric models with nontrivial flavour structure in the soft-breaking sector the exchange of neutral Higgses mediates $ΔF=2$ transitions. This mechanism is studied for $ΔS, ΔB=2$ processes and for a generic form of the soft-breaking terms. We find that Higgs-mediated FCNC amplitudes increase very rapidly with $\tanβ$ and can exceed $SUSY$ box contribution by up to two orders of magnitude when $\tanβ\sim m_t/m_b$.
We analyze constraints on low-energy flavour-changing sfermion mass terms, coming from FCNC and CP violating processes, in the model-independent framework of the mass insertion method. We discuss the relevance of these constraints as tests of supersymmetric extensions of the standard model; in particular, we consider grand-unified models and models with non-universal soft breaking terms.
We study the combined effects of both strong and electroweak dimension six effective operators on flavour changing top quark physics at the LHC. Analytic expressions for the cross sections and decay widths of several flavour changing processes will be presented, as well as an analysis of the feasibility of their observation at the LHC.
We show that in the minimal 3-3-1 model the flavor changing neutral currents (FCNCs) do not impose necessarily strong constraints on the mass of the $Z^\prime$ of the model if we also consider the neutral scalar contributions to such processes, like the neutral mesons mass difference and rare semileptonic decays. We first obtain numerical values for all the mixing matrices of the model i.e., the unitary matrices that rotate the left- and right-handed quarks in each charge sector which give the correct mass of all the quarks and the CKM mixing matrix. Then, we find that there is a range of para…
We show that FCNC processes are unavoidable for leptoquarks that couple to left handed quarks, and derive new FCNC bounds from neutral meson mixing. Despite being induced only at one loop, these processes lead to significant bounds since the leptoquark contributions do not suffer from GIM cancellations. Studying the implications of these bounds we find that (i) The D-Dbar mixing bound is the first significant FCNC bound from the up sector. Combining it with FCNC bounds from the down sector we arrive at a bound on the first generation couplings. (ii) The K-Kbar and D-Dbar mixings bound g^2/M wh…
The timeon model recently proposed by Friedberg and Lee has a potential problem of flavor changing neutral currents (FCNCs) if the mass of the timeon is small. In order to avoid, we introduce a small dimensionless parameter to suppress FCNCs. Even in this case, we find that the timeon mass must be larger than 151 GeV to satisfy all the constraints from processes involving FCNCs in the quark sectors. We also extend the timeon model to the lepton sector and examine the leptonic processes.
We perform a detailed analysis of the SO(10) SUSY GUT model with D3 family symmetry of Dermisek and Raby (DR). The model is specified in terms of 24 parameters and predicts, as a function of them, the whole MSSM set of parameters at low energy scales. Concerning the SM subset of such parameters, the model is able to give a satisfactory description of the quark and lepton masses, of the PMNS matrix and of the CKM matrix. We perform a global fit to the model, including flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) processes Bs --> mu+ mu-, B --> Xs gamma, B --> Xs l+ l- and the B(d,s) - bar B(d,s) mas…
In absence of any distinct evidence of new physics phenomena at the LHC, an increasing number of experimental studies aim at probing anomalous effects with an effective field theory (EFT) that represents a comprehensive approach for interpretation of various experimental results. The processes with the production of top quarks are sensitive to several classes of EFT operators including the flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC). The summary of the latest CMS results based on the recent studies of the standard model processes and searches for new physics effects involving top quarks are prese…
QCD corrections are evaluated to FCNC processes like $B \to X_s ν\barν$, $K \to πν\barν$, $B \to l^+ l^-$ or $K_L \to μ^+ μ^-$, i.e. to processes mediated by effective operators containing neutrino currents or axial leptonic currents. Such operators originate from $W$-box and $Z$-penguin diagrams in the Standard Model. QCD corrections to them are given by two-loop diagrams. We confirm results for those diagrams which are already present in the literature. However, our analytical expressions for the Wilson coefficients disagree, due to a subtlety in regulating spurious IR divergences. The numer…
We consider Flavour Changing Neutral Current processes in the framework of the supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model. FCNC constraints on the structure of sfermion mass matrices are reviewed. Furthermore, we analyze supersymmetric contributions to FCNC transitions which remain in the limit of flavour-conserving sfermion mass matrices. Implications of the FCNC constraints on the structure of sfermion mass matrices for SUSY breaking and sfermion mass generation are discussed. We conclude that the supersymmetric flavour problem is intriguing but perhaps not as severe as it is commonly be…
In the context of Supersymmetric Grand Unified theories with soft breaking terms arising at the Planck scale, it is generally possible to link flavor changing neutral current and CP violating processes occurring in the leptonic and hadronic sectors. We study the correlation between flavor changing squark and slepton mass insertions in models à la SU(5). We show that the constraints coming from lepton flavor violation exhibit a strong impact on CP-violating B decays.
We briefly review the studies on the top quark FCNC processes at a next-generation linear collider. Such processes, including various FCNC top quark rare decays and top-charm associated productions, are extremely suppressed in the standard model (SM) but could be significantly enhanced in some extensions. We compared the predictions from different typical new physics models: the SM, the minimal supersymmetric model (MSSM), the general two-higgs-doublet model (2HDM) and the topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model. Our conclusion is: (1) While all the new physics models can enhance the rates b…
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Model (MSSM) the hitherto unconstrained flavor mixing between top-squark and charm-squark will induce the flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) interaction between top quark and charm quark, which then give rise to various processes at the next generation linear collider (NLC), i.e., the top-charm associated productions via $e^+ e^-$, $e^- γ$ and $γγ$ collisions as well as the top quark rare decays $t \to c V$ ($V=g$, $γ$ or $Z$). All these processes involve the same part of the parameter space of the MSSM. Through a comparative analysis for all these processes a…
Low string scale models might be tested at the LHC directly by their Regge resonances. For such models it is important to investigate the constraints of Standard Model precision measurements on the string scale. It is shown that highly suppressed FCNC processes like K0- bar K^0 oscillations or leptonic decays of the D0-meson provide non-negligible lower bounds on both the perturbatively and surprisingly also non-perturbatively induced string theory couplings. We present both the D-brane instanton formalism to compute such amplitudes and discuss various possible scenarios and their constraints …
We analyse a class of two Higgs doublet models where flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) are present at tree level in a mixing-suppressed manner. In this class of models, because of a discrete symmetry imposed on the lagrangian, the FCNC couplings in the quark and lepton sector are fixed in terms of the corresponding mixing matrix (CKM or PMNS), the fermion masses and the ratio $v_2/v_1$ of the vacuum expectation values of the neutral scalars. A large number of processes, including tree and loop level transitions mediated by the new charged or neutral scalars are used as constraints. It i…
The discovery of doubly heavy baryon provides us with a new platform for precisely testing Standard Model and searching for new physics. As a continuation of our previous works, we investigate the FCNC processes of doubly heavy baryons. Light-front approach is adopted to extract the form factors, in which the two spectator quarks are viewed as a diquark. Results for form factors are then used to predict some phenomenological observables, such as the decay width and the forward-backward asymmetry. We find that most of the branching ratios for $b\to s$ processes are $10^{-8}\sim10^{-7}$ and thos…
Since the top quark FCNC processes are extremely supressed in the Standard Model (SM) but could be greatly enhanced in some new physics models, they could serve as a smoking gun for new physics hunting at the LHC. In this brief review we summarize the new physics predictions for various top quark FCNC processes at the LHC by focusing on two typical models: the minimal supersymmetric model (MSSM) and the topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model. The conclusion is: (1) Both new physics models can greatly enhance the SM predictions by several orders; (2) The TC2 model allows for largest enhancem…
We review the status of the flavour-changing neutral-current processes (FCNC). In particular we discuss: i) Main targets of the field, ii) The theoretical framework for FCNC, iii) Standard analysis of the unitarity triangle, iv) $\varepsilon'/\varepsilon$, v) Radiative, rare and CP-violating decays, vi) CP-asymmetries in B-decays, vii) Comparision of the potentials of $K \to πν\barν$ and CP-B asymmetries, vii) Some aspects of the physics beyond the Standard Model.
In this paper, we consider a single top quark production in association with a neutral gauge boson (Z boson or Photon) at the future electron-positron colliders. We utilize these channels to probe the top quark Flavour Changing Neutral Currents (FCNC) interactions in $tqZ$ and $tqγ$ vertices. We perform two separate analyses for top-Z-jet and top-$γ$-jet channels. The Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) approach is employed to search for these anomalous couplings. We consider parton showering, hadronization and fast detector simulation in our study and use a cut-and-count technique t…
The top quark is expected to be a probe to new physics beyond the standard model. Thanks to the large number of top quarks produced at the Tevatron and the LHC, various properties of the top quark can now be measured accurately. An effective field theory allows us to study the new physics effects in a model-independent way, and to this end accurate theoretical predictions are required. In this talk we will discuss some recent results on top-quark decay processes as well as flavor-changing processes, based on the effective field theory approach.
We report on our study of the LFV processes μ\to eγ, μ\to eee and μ\to e conversion in the context of Little Higgs models. Specifically we examine the Littlest Higgs with T-parity (LHT) and the Simplest Little Higgs (SLH) as examples of a Product group and Simple group Little Higgs models respectively. The necessary Feynman rules for both models are obtained in the 't Hooft Feynman Gauge up to order v^2/f^2 and predictions for the branching ratios and conversion rates of the LFV processes are calculated to leading order (one-loop level). Comparison with current experimental constraints show th…
A variety of lepton flavour violating effects related to the recent discovery of neutrino oscillations and mixings is here systematically discussed in terms of an S_3-flavour permutational symmetry. After a brief review of some relevant results on lepton masses and mixings, that had been derived in the framework of a Minimal S_3-Invariant Extension of the Standard Model, we derive explicit analytical expressions for the matrices of the Yukawa couplings and compute the branching ratios of some selected flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) processes, as well as, the contribution of the exchan…
We analyse the constraints and some of the phenomenological implications of a class of two Higgs doublet models where there are flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) at tree level but the potentially dangerous FCNC couplings are suppressed by small entries of the CKM matrix $V$. This class of models have the remarkable feature that, as a result of a discrete symmetry of the Lagrangian, the FCNC couplings are entirely fixed in the quark sector by $V$ and the ratio $v_2 /v_1$ of the vevs of the neutral Higgs. The discrete symmetry is extended to the leptonic sector, so that there are FCNC in …
We analyze the production and subsequent decay of the neutral MSSM Higgs bosons (h = h^0, H^0, A^0) mediated by flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC) in the LHC collider. We have computed the h-production cross-section times the FCNC branching ratio, σ(pp -> h -> qq') = σ(pp -> h) B(h -> qq'), in the LHC focusing on the strongly-interacting FCNC sector. Here qq' is an electrically neutral pair of quarks of different flavors, the dominant modes being those containing a heavy quark: tc or bs. We determine the maximum production rates for each of these modes and identify the relevant regions of…
