A Conceptual Design Report (CDR) for the Large Hadron Electron Collider, the LHeC, is being prepared, to which an introduction was given for the plenary panel discussion on the future of deep inelastic scattering held at DIS09. This is briefly summarised here. The CDR will comprise designs of the ep/eA collider, based on ring and linear electron accelerators, of the interaction region, designed for simultaneous $ep$ and $pp$ operation, of a new, modular detector, and it will present basics on the physics motivation for a high luminous Tera scale electron-nucleon collider as a complement to the LHC.
In this proceeding, an overview of the recent progress of the exotic hadrons studies at hadron colliders is presented, including the experimental measurement results from CMS, LHCb, CDF and D0. The talk covers the physics properties study of X(3872); the search for Y(4140) state etc; the recent result of Z(4430); and also the extended study to bottomonium sector.
A review is made of the status of, and prospects for, flavour physics studies at hadron colliders in the `post e^+e^- era'. It is argued that exciting times lie ahead.
B factories measure the CP violation parameter of B^0 Bbar^0 mixing and decay. Hadron colliders measure the dimuon charge asymmetry of an admixture of B hadrons. In this note we discuss a subtle point on how the CP violation parameter of B^0_s Bbar^0_s mixing and decay can be extracted from these measurements.
The analysis of the CKM parameters will take a leap forward when the hadronic B factories receive their first data. I describe the challenges faced by B-physics at hadronic colliders and the expected reach in specific channels for the LHCb, BTeV, ATLAS and CMS experiments.
Top quarks can be produced abundantly at hadron colliders like the Tevatron at Fermilab and the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, and a variety of measurements of top-quark properties have been gathered in the recent years from four experiments: CDF and D0 at the Tevatron and ATLAS and CMS at the Large Hadron Collider. In this review the most recent results on the measurement of the top-quark mass by the four different collaborations, with various techniques and considering different topologies, are reported.
Hadron colliders have played, and will continue to play, a crucial role in the understanding of CP violation. Their impact is expected to be especially important in the study of CP asymmetries in rare decays and the $B_s$ meson. The experimental challenge and reach of current and future experiments is discussed.
The techniques used to study top quarks at hadron colliders are presented. The analyses that discovered the top quark are described, with emphasis on the techniques used to tag b-quark jets in candidate events. The most recent measurements of top quark properties by the CDF and DZero collaborations are reviewed, including the top quark cross section, mass, branching fractions and production properties. Future top quark studies at hadron colliders are discussed, and predictions for event yields and uncertainties in the measurements of top quark properties are presented.
A major goal of the future Large Hadron Collider will be the Higgs boson search. In this paper the discovery In this paper the discovery potential is described as a function of the Higgs mass showing that a Standard Model Higgs boson can be discovered after less than two years of running of the collider. The MSSM Higgs searches and the precision achievable on the measurement of the Higgs boson parameters are also discussed.
The article summarizes the main recent measurements related to production of the W and Z bosons at the Tevatron and the LHC experiments. The results of the measurements are compared to the standard model predictions.
We have considered the physics opportunities of future lepton-hadron colliders and how these opportunities might be realized in a possible polarized eRHIC facility and an e-p collider as part of a staged or final version VLHC. We evaluated the physics priorities based on experience at HERA and, using simulated data for e-p collisions with sqrt(s) > 1 TeV, showed how detector designs would be impacted by the physics.
A novel concept of a high luminosity hadron collider is proposed. This would be a typical application of an induction synchrotron being newly developed. Extremely long bunches, referred to as superbunches, are generated by a multi- bunch stacking method employing barrier buckets at the injection into the collider, and are accelerated to the collider energy with an step-voltage induced in the induction gaps. This article summarizes main developments of the hadron colliders and physics results obtained since their inception around forty years ago. The increase in the collision energy of over two orders of magnitude and even larger increases in luminosity provided experiments with unique data samples. Developments of full acceptance detectors, particle identification and analysis methods provided fundamental discoveries and ultra-precise measurements which culminated in the completion and in depth verification of the Standard Model. Identification of charmonium states at hadron colliders has mostly been limited to leptonic decays of the J/ψ. In this paper we present and algorithm to identify hadronic decays of charmonium states (J/ψ, ψ(2S), χ_{c0,1,2}) which make up the large majority of all decays. The algorithm is able to identify hadronic $J/ψ$ decays with an efficiency of 36\% while suppressing a background of quark and gluon jets by a factor 100.
The investigation of lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collisions at TeV scale is crucial both to clarify the strong interaction dynamics from nuclei to quark-parton level and for adequate interpretation of experimental data from future hadron colliders (LHC and VLHC). In this presentation different TeV scale lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collider proposals (such as THERA, LEP-LHC, QCD Explorer etc) are discussed. The advantages of linac-ring type colliders has been shown comparatively.
Rare B hadron decays provide an excellent test bench for the Standard Model and can probe new physics models. We review the experimental progress of the searches for rare leptonic B decays ($b\rightarrow \ell^+ \ell^-$ and $b\rightarrow s \ell^+ \ell^-$) at LHC and Tevatron experiments.
Recent experimental and theoretical results presented in the working group "Parton densities from DIS and hadron colliders to LHC" at the DIS2010 workshop are summarized in this contribution.
In this contribution we review the status of inclusive jet cross sections at hadron colliders in perturbative QCD, studying in particular the renormalisation and factorisation scale dependence of the one-jet inclusive cross section at NNLO.
We review the methods which have been proposed for measuring masses of new particles at the Large Hadron Collider paying particular attention to the kinematical techniques suitable for extracting mass information when invisible particles are expected.
The Monte Carlo integrator HAWK provides precision predictions for Higgs production at hadron colliders in vector-boson fusion and Higgs strahlung, i.e. in production processes where the Higgs boson is Attached to WeaK bosons. The fully differential predictions include the full QCD and electroweak next-to-leading-order corrections. Results are computed as integrated cross sections and as binned distributions for important hadron-collider observables.

Current absolute branching fractions of $Λ_c^+$ and $D_s^+$ mesons are limiting the determination of important measurements. They have only been measured at $e^+e^-$ colliders. Here techniques for measuring them at hadron colliders are discussed. The precision determination of $Λ_c^+\to p K^-π^+$ seems possible with current data, however the corresponding determination of $D_s^+\to K^+K^-π^+$ will require more integrated luminosity.
The next-generation high-energy facilities, the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the prospective $e^+e^-$ International Linear Collider (ILC), are expected to unravel new structures of matter and forces from the electroweak scale to the TeV scale. In this report we review the complementary role of LHC and ILC in drawing a comprehensive and high-precision picture of the mechanism breaking the electroweak symmetries and generating mass, and the unification of forces in the frame of supersymmetry.
We present the calculation of the next-to-leading order QCD corrections for top-quark pair production in association with an additional jet at hadron colliders, using the modified minimal subtraction scheme to renormalize the top-quark mass. The results are compared to measurements at the Large Hadron Collider run I. In particular, we determine the top-quark running mass from a fit of the theoretical results presented here to the LHC data.

In this study, we explore the effects of $\mathcal CP$-violating anomalous interactions of the top-quark through the semileptonic decay modes of the top-quark arising due to pair-production of $t\bar{t}$ at the Large Hardon Collider. Predictions on the LHC sensitivities of the coupling strength to such $\mathcal CP$-violating interactions would be discussed for the 13 TeV LHC data and for the future hadron collider with 14 TeV energy.
High-quality results have been produced with the first Large Hadron Collider run on high-pT, heavy flavour and heavy ion physics. These results, as well as the most recent data analyses from Tevatron, have been presented and discussed at the LHCP2014 conference. A selection of some of them is summarised in this paper, with care to those that stimulated interesting discussions during this event.
Options for future $lepton-proton,lepton-nucleus,γ-proton,γ-nucleus$ and FEL$γ-nucleus$ colliders are discussed. In the spirit of this content, we consider TESLAxHERA, LEPxLHC, $μ$xTEVATRON, exRHIC, LinacxLHC, $\sqrt{s}=3TeV$ $μp$ and CLIC based colliders.
Both D0 and CDF at Tevatron reported the measurements of forward-backward asymmetry in top pair production, which showed possible deviation from the standard model QCD prediction. In this paper, we explore how to examine the {\em same} higher-order QCD effects at the more powerful Large Hadron Collider.
Construction of future electron-positron colliders (or dedicated electron linac) and muon colliders (or dedicated muon ring) tangential to Future Circular Collider (FCC) will give opportunity to utilize highest energy proton and nucleus beams for lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collisions. For the first time, differential cross sections for the production of W-bosons in conjunction with up to three jets, computed at next-to leading order in QCD and including parton shower corrections, are presented and compared to recent experimental data from the Large Hadron Collider.

Charged Higgs boson may be produced at hadron colliders via the decay of top quarks. We consider typical hadron collider detector signals sensitive to delayed decays of the lightest neutralino to photon plus goldstino and demonstrate the potential for substantially increasing the portion of the general parameter space of a gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking model that can be probed at the Tevatron.
This short summary reviews the recent progress in the computation of higher-order corrections to W+b W-antib production. In addition, new phenomenological studies reveal potential problems that may affect precision measurements at the LHC.
A new contribution from pair-production of light gluinos, of mass 12 to 16 GeV, with two-body decays into bottom quarks and light bottom squarks, helps to obtain a bottom-quark production rate in better agreement with hadron collider data. The masses of the gluino and bottom squark are further restricted by the ratio of like-sign to opposite-sign leptons at hadron colliders. Constraints on this scenario from other data are examined and predictions are made.
We review the experimental searches for new particles in the dijet mass spectrum conducted at the CERN SppS, the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, and the CERN Large Hadron Collider. This is a writeup of a plenary talk given at the conference {\it HCP 2012} held November 2012 in Kyoto, Japan. This writeup reviews recent theoretical developments in the following areas of top quark physics at hadron colliders: (a) the forward-backward asymmetry anomaly at the Tevatron, (b) precision top mass determination, (c) state of the art NLO calculations and (d) progress in NNLO calculations.
This is a personal and admittedly US-centric attempt to summarize the foundational impact of the Pisa CDF Group on the conceptual design, construction, and early operation of the CDF Detector at Fermilab. I have tried to go back to original documents where possible.
New facilities for particle and nuclear physics research, which will be available due to constructing the TESLA linear electron-positron collider tangentially to the HERA proton ring, are discussed.

I consider the two-body decay of a particle at a hadron collider into a visible and an invisible particle, generalizing $W \to e ν$, where the masses of the decaying particle and the invisible decay particle are, {\em a priori}, unknown. I prove that the transverse mass, when maximized over possible kinematic configurations, can be used to determine both of the unknown masses. I argue that the proof can be generalized to cover cases such as decays of pair-produced superpartners to the lightest, stable superpartner at the Large Hadron Collider.
One of the options for an accelerator beyond the LHC is a hadron collider with higher energy. Work is going on to explore accelerator technologies that would make such a machine feasible. This workshop concentrated on the physics and detector issues associated with a hadron collider with an energy in the center of mass of the order of 100 to 200 TeV.
First of all, an importance of the LHC and FCC based energy frontier lepton-hadron and photon-hadron colliders is emphasised. Then arguments favoring existence of new heavy isosinglet down-type quarks and vector-like isosinglet or isodoublet leptons are presented, following by historical arguments favoring new (preonic) level of matter. The importance of Super-Charm factory and GeV energy proton linac for Turkey national road map is argued. Finally, several recommendations for ESPP2020 are suggested.
An overview is given on key physics, detector and accelerator aspects of the LHeC, including its further development, with emphasis to its role as the cleanest microscope of parton dynamics and a precision Higgs facility.
In these proceedings, we apply the recently developed S-ACOT-MPS factorization scheme at the next-to-leading order to prompt charm production at hadron colliders. It provides a good agreement with experimental data on charm meson production measured by LHCb at 7 and 13 TeV. The low-$p_T$ data are on the margins of the theoretical error bands, emphasizing the importance of including contributions beyond the next-to-leading order.

The production of the X(3872) as a hadronic molecule in hadron colliders is clarified. We show that the conclusion of Bignamini et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 103 (2009) 162001, that the production of the X(3872) at high $p_T$ implies a non-molecular structure, does not hold. In particular, using the well understood properties of the deuteron wave function as an example, we identify the relevant scales in the production process.
Hadronic resonances, having very short lifetime, like $\rm{K}^{*0}$, can act as useful probes to understand and estimate lifetime of hadronic phase in ultra-relativistic proton-proton, p--Pb and heavy-ion collisions. Resonances with relatively longer lifetime, like $ϕ$ meson, can serve as a tool to locate the QGP phase boundary. We estimate a lower limit of hadronic phase lifetime in Cu--Cu and Au--Au collisions at RHIC, and in pp, p--Pb and Pb--Pb collisions at different LHC collision energies. The diffractive heavy quark cross sections are estimated considering photon-Pomeron ($γ\pom$) interactions in hadron - hadron at RHIC, Tevatron, and CERN LHC energies. We assume the validity of the hard diffractive factorization and calculate the charm and bottom total cross sections and rapidity distributions using the diffractive parton distribution functions of the Pomeron obtained by the H1 Collaboration at DESY-HERA. We argue that gluon saturation effects may be visible in Large Hadron Collider (LHC) data. We look at the centrality dependence of the away-side peak of two-particle correlations measured in p-Pb collisions, using both ALICE data at midrapidity, and LHCb data at forward rapidity. Once the collective flow-like signal measured at the near-side peak is removed from the correlation function, the centrality dependence of the away-side peak turns out to be much stronger in the forward region than at midrapidity.
