We study the potential LHC discovery of the Z1 KK gauge boson unitarizing longitudinal W+W- scattering amplitude. In particular, we explore the decay mode Z1->t tbar along with Z1-> W+W- without specifying the branching fractions. We propose to exploit the associated production pp-> W Z1, and select the final state of like-sign dileptons plus multijets and large missing energy. We conclude that it is possible to observe the Z1 resonance at a 5 sigma level with an integrated luminosity of 100 inverse fb at the LHC upto 650 GeV for a dominant WW channel, and 560 GeV for a dominant ttbar channel.
We study the production of the heavy W' and Z' bosons in the three site higgsless model at the LHC. We focus on the s-channel production mode to estimate the prospects for measuring their suppressed couplings to standard model fermions.
We investigate the potential of the LHC for discovering the heavy vector and fermion resonances present in the Three-Site Higgsless Model. To this end, the model was implemented into the WHIZARD parton-level Monte Carlo eventgenerator. The results of parton-level simulations for different potential discovery channels are presented together with a discussion of the parameter space thus accessible at the LHC.
We investigate the signatures of the recently proposed Higgsless models at future colliders. We focus on tests of the mechanism of partial unitarity restoration in the longitudinal vector boson scattering, which do not depend on any Higgsless model-building details. We study the LHC discovery reach for charged massive vector boson resonances and show that all of the preferred parameter space will be probed with $100 {\rm fb}^{-1}$ of LHC data. We also discuss the prospects for experimental verification of the Higgsless nature of the model at the LHC. In addition, in this talk we present new re…
We describe a deconstructed Higgsless model in which electroweak symmetry breaking results largely from a Higgsless mechanism while the top quark mass is generated by a topcolor mechanism. The top quark mass arises from a Yukawa coupling to an effective top-Higgs which develops a small vacuum expectation value. Both the heavy partners of the electoweak gauge bosons and those for the SM fermions can be light enough to be visible at LHC.
We consider the four-site Higgsless model, which predicts the existence of four charged and two neutral extra gauge bosons, $W_{1,2}^\pm$ and $Z_{1,2}$. In contrast to other Higgsless models, characterized by fermiophobic extra gauge bosons, here sizeable fermion-boson couplings are allowed by the electroweak precision data. We thus analyse the prospects of detecting the new predicted particles in the mostly favored Drell-Yan channel at the LHC.
We explore the LHC phenomenology of the dark matter candidate arising from the extension of warped Higgsless models. In particular, we consider a model of warped supersymmetry in the bulk and on the IR brane in which the lightest Neutralino is rendered stable by an R parity and serves as a realistic cold dark matter candidate. The production of the LSP and NLSP in association with third generation quarks is simulated using an implementation in O'Mega/Whizard.
We study the LHC signatures of new gauge bosons in the minimal deconstruction Higgsless model (MHLM). We analyze the $W'$ signals of $pp\to W' \to WZ$ and $pp\to W'jj \to WZjj$ processes at the LHC, including the complete signal and background calculation in the gauge invariant model and have demonstrated the LHC potential to cover the whole parameter space of the MHLM model.
We consider a four site Higgsless model based on the $SU(2)_L\times SU(2)_1\times SU(2)_2\times U(1)_Y$ gauge symmetry, which predicts two neutral and four charged extra gauge bosons, $Z_{1,2}$ and $W^\pm_{1,2}$. We compute the properties of the new particles, and derive indirect and direct limits on their masses and couplings from LEP and Tevatron data. In contrast to other Higgsless models, characterized by fermiophobic extra gauge bosons, here sizeable fermion-boson couplings are allowed by the electroweak precision data. The prospects of detecting the new predicted particles in the favoure…
The top-pions($π_{t}^{0,\pm}$) predicted by extra dimensional descriptions of the topcolor scenario have similar feature with those in four dimensional topcolor scenario, which have large Yukawa couplings to the third generation quarks. In the context of the higgsless--top-Higgs(HTH) model, we discuss the production of these new particles at the CERN Large Hadron Collider(LHC) via various suitable mechanisms (gluon-gluon fusion, bottom-bottom fusion, gluon-bottom fusion, and the usual Drell-Yan processes) and estimate their production rates. We find that, as long as the top-pions are not too h…
We study the phenomenological consequences of a four site Higgsless model based on the SU(2)_L x SU(2)_1 x SU(2)_2 x U(1)_Y gauge symmetry, which predicts two neutral and four charged extra gauge bosons, Z_{1,2} and W_{1,2}. The model represents an extension of the minimal three site version (or BESS model), largely investigated in the literature, which includes three heavy vector bosons. We compute the properties of the new particles, and derive indirect and direct limits on their masses and couplings from LEP and Tevatron data and from the perturbative unitarity requirements. In contrast to …
We study the phenomenology of the 4-site Higgsless model, based on the $SU(2)_L\times SU(2)_1\times SU(2)_2\times U(1)_Y$ gauge symmetry, at present colliders. The model predicts the existence of two neutral and four charged extra gauge bosons, Z1,Z2,W1,W2. In this paper, we focus on the charged gauge sector. We first derive limits on W1,W2-boson masses and couplings to SM fermions from direct searches at the Tevatron. We then estimate at the 7 TeV LHC the exclusion limits with the actual L=1 fb-1 and the discovery potential with the expected L=10 fb-1. In contrast to the minimal (or 3-site) H…
We identify and study the signatures of the recently proposed Higgsless models at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We concentrate on tests of the mechanism of partial unitarity restoration in the longitudinal vector boson scattering, which is crucial to the phenomenological success of any Higgsless model and does not depend on the model-building details. We investigate the discovery reach for charged massive vector boson resonances and show that all of the preferred parameter space will be probed with 100 inverse fb of LHC data. Unitarity restoration requires that the masses and couplings of t…
We explore the LHC phenomenology of an extension of warped higgsless models. The model is supersymmetric in the bulk and on the IR brane as introduced in [arXiv:0805.1379], corresponding to an emergence of a supersymmetric spectrum in the composite sector of the higgsless model. In particular, the lightest neutralino is rendered stable by an R parity and serves as a realistic cold dark matter candidate. The observation of missing energy signals at the LHC from LSP and NLSP production in association with third generation quarks is discussed based on simulations using WHIZARD.
In the Higgsless models, there are extra gauge bosons which keep the perturbative unitarity of a longitudinally polarized gauge boson. The three-site Higgsless model is a minimal Higgsless model and contains three extra gauge bosons, $W^{\prime \pm}$ and Z'. In this paper, we report the discovery potential of the Z' gauge boson via Drell-Yan production with Z'(mass=380, 500, 600 GeV) $\rightarrow WW \rightarrow \ellνqq$ ($\ell=e$, $μ$) at the LHC ($\sqrt{s}$=14 TeV).
We study the phenomenology of the neutral gauge sector of the four-site Higgsless model, based on the SU(2)_L x SU(2)_1 x SU(2)_2 x U(1)_Y gauge symmetry, at present colliders. The model predicts the existence of two neutral and four charged extra gauge bosons, Z_{1,2} and W^\pm_{1,2}. We expand and update a previous study, by concentrating on the neutral sector. We derive new limits on Z_{1,2}-boson masses and couplings from recent direct searches at the Tevatron. We moreover estimate the discovery potential at the Tevatron with a project luminosity L=10 fb^{-1}, and at the 7 TeV LHC with L=1…
A complete parton level analysis of ll + four jets l = e,mu and 3lv + two jets production at the LHC is presented, including all processes at order $\ordEW$, $\ordQCD$ and $\ordQCDsq$ when appropriate. The infinite Higgs mass scenario, which is considered as a benchmark for strong scattering theories and is the limiting case for composite Higgs models, and one example of a model incorporating a Strongly Interacting Light Higgs are confronted with the Standard Model light Higgs predictions. This analysis is combined with the results in the lv + four jets channel presented in a previous paper, i…
We study the potential of the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to probe the spin of new massive vector boson resonances predicted by Higgsless models. We consider its production via weak boson fusion which relies only on the coupling between the new resonances and the weak gauge bosons. We show that the LHC will be able to unravel the spin of the particles associated with the partial restoration of unitarity in vector boson scattering for integrated luminosities of 150-560 fb^-1, depending on the new state mass and on the method used in the analyses.
Topological quantum interactions, namely Chern-Simons terms and global Wess-Zumino terms, arise naturally in theories with extra dimensions of space compactified on orbifolds. If the extra dimensions become manifest at the TeV scale, experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) could observe signatures of topological interactions. Decays of Kaluza-Klein excitations of neutral electroweak gauge bosons into pairs of neutral Standard Model gauge bosons, ZZ and Z+photon, would provide a clean signature, since such decays do not occur at tree level. In this paper, we investigate the prospects for…
We study the LHC signatures of new gauge bosons in the gauge-invariant minimal Higgsless model. It predicts an extra pair of W_1 and Z_1 bosons which can be as light as ~400GeV and play a key role in the delay of unitarity violation. We analyze the W_1 signals in pp --> W_0Z_0Z_0 --> jj4\ell and pp --> jj W_0Z_0 --> jj3\ellνprocesses at the LHC, including the complete electroweak and QCD backgrounds. We reveal the complementarity between these two channels for discovering the W_1 boson, and demonstrate the LHC discovery potential over the full range of allowed W_1 mass.
In Higgsless models, new vector resonances appear to restore the unitarity of the W_L W_L scattering amplitude without the Higgs boson. In the ideal delocalized three site Higgsless model, one of large prodcution cross section of the neutral vector resonance (Z') at the Large Hadron Collider is the W-associated production, pp \to Z'W \to WWW. Although the dileptonic decay channnel, lνl'ν'jj, is experimentally clean to search for the Z' signals, it is difficult to reconstruct the Z' invariant mass due to the two neutrinos in the final state. We study collider signatures of Z' using the M_{T2}-A…
We discuss the signatures of a representative Higgsless model with ideal fermion delocalization in vector-boson fusion processes, focusing on the gold- and silver-plated decay modes of the gauge bosons at the CERN-Large Hadron Collider. For this purpose, we have developed a fully-flexible parton-level Monte-Carlo program, which allows for the calculation of cross sections and kinematic distributions within experimentally feasible selection cuts at NLO-QCD accuracy. We find that Kaluza-Klein resonances give rise to very distinctive distributions of the decay leptons. Similar to the Standard Mod…
Recently several Higgsless models of electroweak symmetry breaking have been proposed in which unitarity of $W,Z$ scattering amplitudes is partially restored through a tower of massive vector gauge bosons. These massive states are expected to couple mainly to $W$ and $Z$ and should appear as resonances in $WW$ and $WZ$ fusion at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We study the LHC discovery reach for the first neutral state, $V_1^0$, through the reaction $W^+W^- \to V_1^0 \to W^+W^- \to e^\pm μ^\mp + \eslt$. The background from $t\bar{t}$, $τ^+τ^-$ and $W$ pair production is calculated and d…
In extensions of the Standard Model with compactified extra dimensions, perturbative unitarity of the longitudinal gauge bosons is maintained through the contribution of heavy KK excitations of the gauge fields, without the necessity of introducing a Higgs field. The Three-Site Higgsless Model represents a minimal approach in this respect, containing just one extra set of heavy gauge bosons Z'/W' in the spectrum. While the Z' can have robust couplings to SM fermions and hence may be detected within the first 1-20 1/fb of LHC data at 14 TeV, the coupling of the W' to light fermions is suppresse…
We study the Drell-Yan production of heavy vector and axial-vector states of generic Higgsless models at hadron colliders. We analyse in particular the l+l-, WZ, and three SM gauge boson final states. In the l+l- case we show how present Tevatron data restricts the allowed parameter space of these models. The two and three gauge boson final states (especially WZ, WWZ, and WZZ) are particularly interesting in view of the LHC, especially for light axial-vector masses, and could shed more light on the role of spin-1 resonances in the electroweak precision tests.
We complete the list of one loop renormalization group equations and matching conditions relevant for the computation of the electroweak precision parameters $S$ and $T$ in the three site Higgsless model. We obtain one-loop formulas for $S$ and $T$ expressed in terms of physical observables such as the KK gauge boson mass $M_{W'}$, the KK fermion mass $M$, and the KK gauge boson ($W'$) couplings with light quarks and leptons $g_{W'ff}$. It is shown that these physical observables, $M_{W'}$, $M$ and $g_{W'ff}$ are severely constrained by the electroweak precision data. Unlike the tree level ana…
Spectra, triple and quartic gauge couplings of the Higgsless model with gauge group $SU(2)_L\times SU(2)_R\times U(1)_{B-L}$ defined in warped space are explored with numerical method. We extend the equation of motions, boundary conditions and formalism of multi-gauge-boson vertices to the Hirn-Sanz scenario. By assuming the ideally delocalized fermion profile, we study the spectra of vector bosons as well as the triple and quartic gauge couplings among vector bosons. It is found that mass spectra can be greatly modified by the parameters of QCD power corrections. Meanwhile, the triple and qua…
The Gaugephobic Higgs model provides an interpolation between three different models of electroweak symmetry breaking: Higgsless models, Randall-Sundrum models, and the Standard Model. At parameter points between the extremes, Standard Model Higgs signals are present at reduced rates, and Higgsless Kaluza-Klein excitations are present with shifted masses and couplings, as well as signals from exotic quarks necessary to protect the Zbb coupling. Using a new implementation of the model in SHERPA, we show the LHC signals which differentiate the generic Gaugephobic Higgs model from its limiting ca…
In this lecture I give an introduction to technicolor and extended technicolor theories. I discuss the issues models of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking struggle with and propose how non QCD-like dynamics, such as a `walking' or nearly-conformal technicolor coupling, can invalidate many conventional arguments against technicolor. I provide a short discussion of AdS/CFT-inspired extra-dimensional (Higgsless) models and their similarities and differences with older 4D technicolor models. To conclude, a summary of some possible LHC signatures is given.
We study a theory of electroweak symmetry breaking without a Higgs boson, recently suggested by Csaki et al. The theory is formulated in 5D warped space with the gauge bosons and matter fields propagating in the bulk. In the 4D dual picture, the theory appears as the standard model without a Higgs field, but with an extra gauge group G which becomes strong at the TeV scale. The strong dynamics of G breaks the electroweak symmetry, giving the masses for the W and Z bosons and the quarks and leptons. We study corrections in 5D which are logarithmically enhanced by the large mass ratio between th…
The mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) will be directly scrutinized soon at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We analyze the LHC potential to look for new vector bosons associated with the EWSB sector. We present a possible model independent approach to search for these new spin--1 resonances. We show that the analyses of the processes pp --> l^+ l^- Emiss_T, l^\pm j j Emiss_T, l^\pm l^+ l^- Emiss_T, and l^+ l^- j j (with l=e or μand j=jet) have a large reach at the LHC and can lead to the discovery or exclusion of many EWSB scenarios such as Higgsless models.
A complete list of operators contributing at the lowest order to Quartic Neutral Gauge Boson Couplings involving photons and Z-bosons, is presented. We show that, for the couplings we consider, the lowest order contribution is from dimension 8 operators in the case when a light Higgs is present and from dimension 6 operators in the higgsless case where electroweak symmetry is non-linearly realized. We also show that these operators are generated by exchange of the Kaluza-Klein partners of the graviton in extra-dimensional models. We then explore the possibility of probing these couplings in th…
We analyze the spectrum and properties of a highly-deconstructed Higgsless model with only three sites. Such a model contains sufficient complexity to incorporate interesting physics issues related to fermion masses and electroweak observables, yet remains simple enough that it could be encoded in a Matrix Element Generator program for use with Monte Carlo simulations. The gauge sector of this model is equivalent to that of the BESS model; the new physics of interest here lies in the fermion sector. We analyze the form of the fermion Yukawa couplings required to produce the ideal fermion deloc…
Models of minimal lepton flavor violation where the seesaw scale is higher than the relevant flavor scale predict that all lepton flavor violation is proportional to the charged lepton Yukawa matrix. If extra vector-like leptons are within the reach of the LHC, it will be possible to test the resulting predictions in ATLAS/CMS.
The tau lepton plays important role in distinguishing neutrino mass patterns and determining the chirality nature in heavy scalar mediated neutrino mass models, in the light of the neutrino oscillation experiments and its polarization measurement. We investigate the lepton flavor signatures with tau lepton at LHC upgrades, i.e. HL-LHC, HE-LHC and FCC-hh, through leptonic processes from doubly charged Higgs in the Type II Seesaw. We find that for the channel with one tau lepton in final states, the accessible doubly charged Higgs mass at HL-LHC can reach 655 GeV and 695 GeV for the neutrino mas…
We study the potential of the exclusive $pp\to p\ell^-\ell^+p$ process to probe excited leptons at the LHC which is known to be one of the most clean channel at the hadron colliders. The sensitivity of the model parameters is obtained 95% confidence level by considering three forward detector acceptances; $0.0015< ξ< 0.5$, $0.0015< ξ<0.15$ and $0.1< ξ< 0.5$.
Scalars with lepton number violating interactions decaying into lepton pairs, as those mediating the see-saw of type II, always include doubly-charged components. If these are observed at the LHC, their electro-weak quantum numbers can be determined through their leptonic decays in pair and single production.
We show that in supersymmetric models with explicit flavor lepton number violation due to soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms there could be detectable flavor lepton number violation in slepton decays. We estimate LHC discovery potential of the lepton flavor number violation in slepton decays.
We studied the signatures at the LHC of the electroweak SU(2) lepton doublet which embeds a doubly charged lepton. The doubly charged lepton pair and single production rates, which are different from the triplet case, are studied and all the detectable decay modes are considered. We also applied the same kinematic cuts as in triplet case to reduce the background at LHC and the needed integrated luminosities to find the doubly charged leptons with different masses are analyzed. We also suggested a method to distinguish the exotic lepton doublet and triplet.
In a generic supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, there will be lepton flavor violation at a neutral gaugino vertex due to misalignment between the lepton Yukawa couplings and the slepton soft masses. Sleptons produced at the LHC through the cascade decays of squarks and gluinos can give a sizable number of events with 4 leptons. This channel could give a clean signature of supersymmetric lepton flavor violation under conditions which are identified.
Potential of the LHC to determine the electromagnetic couplings of the $τ$ lepton is discussed via the process ${γγ\to τ^{+}τ}^{-}$. Highly improved constraints of the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments have been obtained compared to the LEP sensitivity.
We investigate the production, signatures and backgrounds of a pair of heavy-exotic charged leptons and a heavy-exotic neutrino together with the exotic charged lepton in the framework of the vector singlet model, vector doublet model, and fermion-mirror-fermion model, at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We still show that the cross-sections for the case of the production of a pair of heavy exotic leptons are competitive with the ones for the single production of exotic leptons.
A new process with the lepton flavor violation (LFV) is presented in the setup for LHC. The LFV is induced by the one-loop effect through Higgs bosons in the framework of the type-III two Higgs doublet model. It is demonstrated that the vast of parameter space in the Yukawa sector could be accessed by current and future LHC experiments.
We investigate the production, signatures and backgrounds of new heavy leptons via string inspired $E_{6}$ model at the proposed Linac$\otimes$LHC. Assuming maximal mixing, the production rate is found to be 2000 events per year for masses up to 3 TeV.
We suggest an NMSSM scenario, motivated by dark matter constraints, that may disguise itself as a much simpler mSUGRA scenario at the LHC. We show how its non-minimal nature can be revealed, and the bino--singlino mass difference measured, by looking for soft leptons.
We investigate the quark-lepton symmetric model of Foot and Lew in the context of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In this `bottom-up' extension to the Standard Model, quark-lepton symmetry is achieved by introducing a gauged `leptonic colour' symmetry which is spontaneously broken above the electroweak scale. If this breaking occurs at the TeV scale, then we expect new physics to be discovered at the LHC. We examine three areas of interest: the Z$'$ heavy neutral gauge boson, charge $\pm1/2$ exotic leptons, and a colour triplet scalar diquark. We find that the LHC has already explored and/or …
We investigate production and detection prospects of the quintuplet heavy leptons at the LHC in the context of a new model which is proposed as a viable and testable solution to the neutrino masses problem. We classify the signals, carry out a full simulation on the signals and the relevant backgrounds at the 14 TeV LHC. After applying suitable kinematic cuts, the background events are substantially suppressed. The signals of the heavy leptons might be detected at the 14 TeV LHC.
We report on recent studies of photon-induced (PI) contributions to di-lepton production and their implications for Beyond Standard Model (BSM) $Z^\prime$-bosons searches at the LHC.
Heavy charged lepton productions via gluon fusion at the LHC are revisited. Full loop calculations are adopted with an updated parton distribution function and electroweak data. Including contribution from new generation quarks in the loop, pair production of the sequential heavy lepton via gluon fusion at the LHC dominates over that via the Drell-Yan mechanism in some heavy lepton mass range. Exotic lepton single production of vector-like lepton extended models is also calculated. In the later case, the gluon fusion mechanism via the Higgs exchange is emphasized. Our numerical results for bot…
The reweighting method presented in earlier publications is applied for incorporating the LHC W lepton asymmetry data published in 2010 into the NNPDF2.1 NNLO analysis. We confirm the result of the NLO analysis which indicated that these data reduce PDF uncertainties of light quarks in the medium and small-x region, providing the first solid constraints on PDFs from LHC data.
We review the SM extensions with scalar multiplets including doubly-charged components eventually observable as di-leptonic resonances at the LHC. Special emphasis is payed to the limits on LNV implied by doubly-charged scalar searches at the LHC, and to the characterization of the multiplet doubly-charged scalars belong to if they are observed to decay into same-sign charged lepton pairs.
One of the versions of the SU(3)$_L\otimesU(1)_N$ electroweak model predicts charged heavy-leptons which do not belong to any class of heavy-leptons proposed up to now. We investigate the production and signatures of pairs of these heavy-leptons {\it via} the Drell-Yan process and the gluon-gluon fusion at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). As an example we study the decay of the exotic leptons into another ones. We see that the lifetime of the exotic leptons can be short.
We present a new method to measure a theoretically well-defined mass of the top quark at the LHC. This method uses lepton energy distribution and has a boost-invariant nature. We perform a simulation analysis of the top mass reconstruction with this method for tt -> lepton+jets channel at the leading order. We estimate several major uncertainties in the top mass determination and find that they are under good control.
In supersymmetric scenarios, the seesaw mechanism involving heavy right-handed neutrinos implies sizable lepton flavor violation (LFV) in the slepton sector. We discuss the potential of detecting LFV processes at the LHC in mSUGRA+seesaw scenarios and for general mixing in either the left- or right-handed slepton sector. The results are compared with the sensitivity of rare LFV mu -> e gamma decay experiments.
Recent results from Super Kamiokande suggest $ν_μ-ν_τ$ mixing and hence lepton flavor violation. In supersymmetric models, this flavor violation may have implications for the pattern of slepton masses and mixings. Possible signals for this mixing in the decays of sleptons produced at the LHC are discussed. The sensitivity expected is compared to that of rare decays such as $τ\to μγ$.
Combining the multi-lepton searches at the LHC, we study the possibilities of accommodating the new data of muon and electron $g-2$ anomalies in the lepton-specific inert two-Higgs-doublet model. We take the heavy CP-even Higgs as the 125 GeV Higgs, and find the muon and electron $g-2$ anomalies can be explained simultaneously in the region of 5 GeV $< m_h<60$ GeV, 200 GeV $<m_A< 620$ GeV, 190 GeV $<m_{H^\pm}< 620$ GeV for appropriate Yukawa couplings between leptons and inert Higgs. Meanwhile, the model can give a better fit to the data of lepton universality in $τ$ decays than the SM. Furthe…
We study a purely leptonic signature of the Randall-Sundrum scenario with Standard Model fields in the bulk at LHC: the contribution from the exchange of Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of gauge bosons to the clear Drell-Yan reaction. We show that this contribution is detectable (even with the low luminosities of the LHC initial regime) for KK masses around the TeV scale and for sufficiently large lepton couplings to KK gauge bosons. Such large couplings can be compatible with ElectroWeak precision data on the Zff coupling in the framework of the custodial O(3) symmetry recently proposed, for sp…
The LHC era just began. The first discovery at the LHC experiment would be arguably a new resonance pole at TeV scale, if it exists. While the discovery of the Z' would be exciting by itself, it may also suggest what other new physics signals should be looked for while the LHC experiment is still at its early stage. We argue that the four lepton resonance at the Z' pole is a well-motivated and promising signal especially in supersymmetry framework, which can serve as a supersymmetry search scheme even in the early stage of the LHC experiment.
The discovery potential of both singlet and doublet vector-like leptons (VLLs) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) as well as at the not-so-far future muon and electron machines is explored. The focus is on a single production channel for LHC direct searches while double production signatures are proposed for the leptonic colliders. A Deep Learning algorithm to determine the discovery (or exclusion) statistical significance at the LHC is employed. While doublet VLLs can be probed up to masses of 1 TeV, their singlet counterparts have very low cross sections and can hardly be tested beyond a few…
We study lepton flavour violating decays of neutralinos and sleptons within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, assuming two and three generation mixings in the slepton sector. We take into account the most recent bounds on flavour violating rare lepton decays. Taking the SPS1a' scenario as an example, we show that some of the lepton flavour violating branching ratios of neutralinos and sleptons can be sizable (~ 5-10%). We study the impact of the lepton flavour violating neutralino and slepton decays on the di-lepton mass distributions measured at LHC. We find that they can result in n…
We discuss the potential of the photon-induced two lepton final states at the LHC to explore the phenomenology of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) tower of gravitons in the scenarios of the Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos and Dvali(ADD) model and Randall-Sundrum (RS) model. The sensitivity to model parameters can be improved compared to the present LEP or Tevatron sensitivity.
