Adopting the thin-layer improved brick-wall method, we investigate the thermodynamics of a black hole embedded in a spatially flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe. We calculate the temperature and the entropy at every apparent horizon for arbitrary solution of the scale factor. We show that the temperature and entropy display a non-trivial behavior as functions of time. In the case of black holes immersed in universe driven by phantom energy, we show that for specific ranges of the equation-of-state parameter and apparent horizons the entropy is compatible with the D-bound conjecture, even the null, dominant and strong energy conditions are violated. In the case of accretion of phantom energy onto black hole with small Hawking-Hayward quasi-local mass, we obtain an equation-of-state parameter in the range $w\leq-5/3$, guaranteeing the validity of the generalized second law.
Here Randall-Sundrum brane-gravity models of the homogeneous and flat universe, dominated by phantom fluid, is considered. It is noted that brane-gravity corrections effect the behaviour of phantom fluid in RS-II model (where brane-tension $λ$ is negative) drastically. It is interesting to see that, phantom fluid violates the weak energy condition (WEC) till energy density $ρ< λ$, but when phantom energy density $ρ$ grows more, the effective equation of state does not violate WEC. Moreover, with increasing phantom energy density, a stage comes when even strong energy condition is not violated …
We consider an Anti-de Sitter Universe filled by quantum CFT with classical phantom matter and perfect fluid. The model represents the combination of a trace-anomaly annihilated and a phantom driven Anti-de Sitter Universes. The influence exerted by the quantum effects and phantom matter on the AdS space is discussed. Different energy conditions in this type of Universe are investigated and compared with those for the corresponding model in a de Sitter Universe.
In this paper we consider the new agegraphic model of interacting dark energy in non-flat universe. We show that the interacting agegraphic dark energy can be described by a phantom scalar field. Then we show this phantomic description of the agegraphic dark energy and reconstruct the potential of the phantom scalar field.
The $f(R)$ theories of gravity are the most popular, simple and well succeeded extension of Einstein's General Relativity. They can account for some observational issues of standard cosmology with no need for evoking the dark sector of the universe. In the present letter we will investigate LRS Bianchi type-I space-time in $f(R)$ gravity theory within the phantom energy dominated era. We show that in this formalism the phantom energy dominated universe is a transient stage and in the further stage of the universe dynamics, it is dominated, once again, by dark energy. Such an important feature …
The thermodynamic properties of dark energy-dominated universe in the presence of a black hole are investigated in the general case of a varying equation-of-state-parameter $w(a)$. We show that all the thermodynamics quantities are regular at the phantom divide crossing, and particularly the temperature and the entropy of the dark fluid are always positive definite. We also study the accretion process of a phantom fluid by black holes and the conditions required for the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics. As a results we obtain a strictly negative chemical potential and a…
In this work, I have considered that the universe is filled with normal matter and phantom field (or tachyonic field). If the universe is filled with scalar field, Ellis et al have shown that emergent scenario is possible only for $k=+1$ i.e. for closed universe and here I have shown that the emergent scenario is possible for closed universe if the universe contains normal tachyonic field. But for phantom field (or tachyonic field), the negative kinetic term can generate the emergent scenario for all values of $k ~(=0,\pm 1)$. From recently developed statefinder parameters, the behaviour of di…
Quantum corrections coming from massless fields conformally coupled with gravity are studied, in order to see if they can lead to avoidance of the annoying Big Rip singularity which shows up in a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe filled with dark energy and modeled by a scalar phantom field. The dynamics of the model are discussed for all values of the two parameters, named $α>0$ and $β<0$, corresponding to the regularization process. The new results are compared with the ones obtained in \cite{hae11} previously, where dark energy was modeled by means of a phantom fluid with equation of…
Conditions needed to cross the phantom divide line in an interacting holographic dark energy model in closed Friedmann- Robertson-Walker universe are discussed. The probable relationship between this crossing and the coincidence problem is studied.
By introducing the polytropic gas model of interacting dark energy, we obtain the equation of state for the polytropic gas energy density in a non-flat universe. We show that for even polytropic index by choosing $K>Ba^{\frac{3}{n}}$, one can obtain $ω^{\rm eff}_Λ<-1$, which corresponds to a universe dominated by phantom dark energy.
The most recent observational constraints coming from Planck, when combined with other cosmological data, provide evidence for a phantom scenario. In this work we consider a quantum cosmic phantom model where both the matter particles and scalar field are associated with quantum potentials which make the effective mass associated with the matter particles to vanish at the time of matter-radiation equality, resulting in a cosmic system where a matter dominance phase followed by an accelerating expansion is allowed.
Here, RS-II model of brane-gravity is considerd for phantom universe using non-linear equation of stste. Phantom fluid is known to violate the weak energy condition. In this paper, it is found that this characteristic of phantom energy is affected drastically by the negative brane-tension $λ$ of the RS-II model. It is interesting to see that upto a certain value of energy density $ρ$ satisfying $ρ/λ< 1$, weak energy condition is violated and universe super-accelerates. But as $ρ$ increases more, only strong energy condition is violated and universe accelerates. When $1 < ρ/λ<2$, even strong en…
From the Wheeler-Dewitt solutions, the scale factor of the initial universe is discussed. In this study, scale factors from Wheeler-Dewitt solutions, loop quantum gravity, and phantom energy dominated stages are compared. Certain modifications have been attempted in scale factor and quantum potentials driven by canonical quantum gravity approaches. Their results are discussed in this work. Despite an increment of phantom energy density, avoidance of Big Rip is reported. Scale factors predicted from various models are discussed in this work. The relationship between scale factors and the smooth…
The cosmological model with two phantom scalar fields with the special choice of field's potential is considered. The obtained regular solution describes a bounce with a subsequent transition to the de Sitter stage of the expansion of the Universe. This solution also could be interpreted as a S-brane solution.
For the inverse linear potential, the SO(1,1) field behaves as phantom for late time and the Big Rip will occur. The field approaches zero as time approaches the Big Rip, here. For this potential the phantom equation of state takes the late-time minimum $w_Φ=-3$. We give some discussions that the Big Rip in the SO(1,1) model may be treated as either the transition point of universe from expansion to extract phase or the final state. In the latter picture of the universe, the field has the $T$ symmetry and the scale factor possesses the $CT$ symmetry, for which the SO(1,1) charge $\bar{Q}$ play…
This paper is devoted to some simple approach based on general physics tools to describe the physical properties of a hypothetical particle which can be the source of dark energy in the Universe known as phantom. Phantom is characterized by the fact that it possesses negative momentum and kinetic energy and that it gives large negative pressure which acts as antigravity. We consider phantom harmonic oscillator in comparison to a standard harmonic oscillator. By using the first law of thermodynamics we explain why the energy density of the Universe grows when it is filled with phantom. We also …
In standard cosmology, with the evolution of the universe, the matter density and thermodynamic pressure gradually decreases. Also in course of evolution, the matter in the universe obeys (or violates) some restrictions or energy conditions. If the matter distribution obeys strong energy condition (SEC), the universe is in a decelerating phase while violation of SEC indicates an accelerated expansion of the universe. In the period of accelerated expansion the matter may be either of quintessence nature or of phantom nature depending on the fulfilment of the weak energy condition (WEC) or viola…
We discuss the late-time property of universe and phantom field in the SO(1,1) dark energy model for the potential $V=V_0e^{-βΦ^α}$ with $α$ and $β$ two positive constants. We assume in advance some conditions satisfied by the late-time field to simplify equations, which are confirmed to be correct from the eventual results. For $α<2$, the filed falls exponentially off and the phantom equation of state rapidly approaches -1. When $α=2$, the kinetic energy $ρ_k$ and the coupling energy $ρ_c$ become comparable but there is always $ρ_k<-ρ_c$ so that the phantom property of field proceeds to hold.…
In this work, we study the evolution of primordial black holes within the context of Brans-Dicke theory by considering the presence of a dark energy component with a super-negative equation of state called phantom energy as a background. Besides Hawking evaporation, here we consider two type of accretions - radiation accretion and phantom energy accretion. We found that radiation accretion increases the lifetime of primordial black holes whereas phantom accretion decreases the lifespan of primordial black holes. Investigating the competition between the radiation accretion and phantom accretio…
We illustrate how form-invariance transformations can be used for constructing phantom cosmologies from standard scalar field universes. First, we discuss how to relate two flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker cosmologies with different barotropic indexes $γ$ and $\bar γ$. Then, we consider the particular case $\bar γ=-γ$, and we show that if the matter content is interpreted in terms of self-interacting scalar fields, then the corresponding transformation provides the link between a standard and a phantom cosmology. After that, we illustrate the method by considering models with exponential potent…
This work is based on a cosmological scenario of a universe dominated by phantom energy with equation of state parameter $w<-1$ and the analysis of its asymptotic behaviour in the far-future. The author discusses whether a Big Rip singularity could be reached in the future. Working in the context of general relativity, it is argued that the Big Rip singularity could be avoided due to the gravitational Schwinger pair-production, even if no other particle-creating contribution takes place. In this model, the universe is described in its far-future by a state of a constant but large Hubble rate a…
We study a higher dimensional cosmology with phantom field associated with a negative kinetic term. Assuming that the universe possesses the phantom field defined in $D$ dimensional spacetime, we investigate in detail the solutions involved in the higher dimensional phantom cosmology, to explicitly predict photon size and phantom field strength at present in nature. To be specific, we find that the photon size decreases drastically at the early stage of the universe after the Big Bang. Next we explicitly demonstrate the dependences of the photon size, universe size and phantom field strength o…
We study the conditions required for validity of the generalized second law in phantom dominated universe in the presence of Schwarzschild black hole. Our study is independent of the origin of the phantom like behavior of the considered universe. We also discuss the generalized second law in the neighborhood of transition (from quintessence to phantom regime) time. We show that even for a constant equation of state parameter the generalized second law may be satisfied provided the temperature is not taken as de Sitter temperature. It is shown that in models with (only) a transition from quinte…
Power-law solutions for $f(G)$ gravity coupled with perfect fluid have been studied for spatially flat universe. It is shown that despite the matter dominated and accelerating power-law solutions, the power-law solution exists for an special form of $f(G)$ when this universe enters a Phantom phase.
In the present work, we have considered tachyonic field, phantom field and scalar field in both interacting and non-interacting situations and investigated the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics in a flat FRW universe. We found that in all cases, excepting the phantom field dominated universe, the derivative of the entropy is remaining at negative level and is increasing with the decrease in the redshift.
We consider a higher dimensional gravity theory with a negative kinetic energy scalar field and a cosmological constant. We find that the theory admits an exact cosmological solution for the scale factor of our universe. It has the feature that the universe undergoes a continuous transition from deceleration to acceleration at some finite time. This transition time can be interpreted as that of recent acceleration of our universe.
In this paper, we study the phase space analysis of locally rotationally symmetric Bianchi type I universe model by taking interactions between dark matter and scalar field models. We define normalized dimensionless variables to develop an autonomous system of equations. We also find the corresponding critical points in order to study the dynamics of the system. The dynamical analysis indicates that all the critical points correspond to accelerated cosmic expansion for tachyon coupled field. We observe that positive values of $m$ provide more stable future attractors as compared to its negativ…
In this work, we have analyzed two scenarios namely, "intermediate" and "logamadiate" scenarios for closed, open and flat anisotropic universe in presence of phantom field, normal tachyonic field and phantom tachyonic field. We have assumed that there is no interaction between the above mentioned dark energy and dark matter. In these two types of the scenarios of the universe, the nature of the scalar fields and corresponding potentials have been investigated. In intermediate scenario, (i) the potential for normal tachyonic field decreases, (ii) the potentials for phantom tachyonic field and p…
This Letter considers the generalized second law of gravitational thermodynamics in two scenarios featuring a phantom dominated expansion plus a black hole. The law is violated in both scenarios.
The SNe type Ia data admit that the Universe today may be dominated by some exotic matter with negative pressure violating all energy conditions. Such exotic matter is called {\it phantom matter} due to the anomalies connected with violation of the energy conditions. If a phantom matter dominates the matter content of the universe, it can develop a singularity in a finite future proper time. Here we show that, under certain conditions, the evolution of perturbations of this matter may lead to avoidance of this future singularity (the Big Rip). At the same time, we show that local concentration…
The dark energy universe equation of state (EOS) with inhomogeneous,Hubble parameter dependent term is considered. The motivation to introduce such a term comes from time-dependent viscosity considerations and modifications of general relativity. For several explicit examples of such EOS it is demonstrated how the type of future singularity changes, how the phantom epoch emerges and how crossing of phantom barrier occurs. Similar cosmological regimes are considered for the universe with two interacting fluids and for universe with implicit EOS. For instance, the crossing of phantom barrier is …
In this paper we have investigated the general form of viscous and non-viscous dark energy equation of state (EoS) parameter in the scope of anisotropic Bianchi type I space-time. We show that the presence of bulk viscosity causes transition of $ω^{de}$ from quintessence to phantom but the phantom state is an unstable state (as expected) and EoS of DE tends to $-1$ at late time. Then we show this phantomic description of the viscous dark energy and reconstruct the potential of the phantom scalar field. It is found that bulk viscosity pushes the universe to a darker region. We have also shown t…
We investigate the phase space dynamics of a bulk viscosity model in the Eckart approach for a spatially flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe. We have included two barotropic fluids and a dark energy component. One of the barotropic fluids is treated as an imperfect fluid having bulk viscosity, whereas the other components are assumed to behave as perfect fluids. Both barotropic fluids are identified as either radiation or dark matter. Considering that the bulk viscosity acts on either radiation or dark matter, we find that viscous phantom solutions with stable behavior are not allowed in …
We study the cosmic dynamics of a magnetic universe supported by non-linear electrodynamics (NLED) Lagrangeans that are proportional to powers of the electromagnetic invariant $\propto F^{1/(1-m)}$ ($m$ is an overall constant). For simplicity we focus in the case when $F$ depends on the magnetic field alone, a case dubbed in the bibliography as ''magnetic universe''. Our results demonstrate that, depending on the values of the free parameter $m$, the magnetic field can mimic phantom field behavior, an effect previously found in other contexts. It is demonstrated that, since there are found equ…
The effects of the gravitational back reaction of cosmological perturbations are investigated in a phantom inflation model. The effective energy-momentum tensor of the gravitational back reaction of cosmological perturbations whose wavelengths are larger than the Hubble radius is calculated. Our results show that the effects of gravitational back reaction will counteract that of the phantom energy. It is demonstrated in a chaotic phantom inflation model that if the phantom field at the end of inflation is larger than a critical value determined by the necessary e-folds, the phantom inflation p…
Here, cosmology of the late and future universe is obtained from $f(R)$-gravity with non-linear curvature terms $R^2$ and $R^3$ ($R$ being the Ricci scalar curvature). It is different from $f(R)$-dark enrgy models, where non-linear curvature terms are taken as gravitational alternative of dark energy. In the present model, neither linear nor no-linear curvature terms are taken as dark energy. Rather, dark energy terms are induced by curvature terms in the Friedmann equation derived from $f(R)$-gravitational equations. It has advantage over $f(R)$- dark energy models in the sense that the prese…
The phantom dark energy remarkably boosts our prehension of the accelerating Universe. Various models are widely discussed in the phantom Universe without bulk viscosity. From the hydrodynamics' point of view, it is natural to introduce the nonperfect fluid in the study of the Universe, as an ideal fluid just an approximation to the real world after all and using the generalized equation of state (EoS) with bulk viscosity, the early inflationary universe and the accelerated expansion of the late-time universe are described by many authors. In this paper, in order to investigate how the viscosi…
Here, DGP model of brane-gravity is analyzed and compared with the standard general relativity and Randall-Sundrum cases using non-linear equation of state. Phantom fluid is known to violate the weak energy condition. In this paper, it is found that this characteristic of phantom energy is affected drastically by the negative brane-tension $λ$ of the RS-II model. It is found that in DGP model strong energy condition(SEC) is always violated and the universe accelerates only where as in RS-II model even SEC is not violated for $1 < ρ/λ< 2$ and the universe decelerates.
In the present work, we study the dynamical evolution of an homogeneous and anisotropic KS cosmological model, considering general relativity as the gravitational theory, such that there are three different perfect fluids in the matter sector. They are radiation, dust and phantom fluid. Our main motivation is determining if the present model tends to an homogeneous and isotropic FRW model, during its evolution. Also, we want to establish how the parameters and initial conditions of the model, quantitatively, influence the isotropization of the present model. In order to simplify our task, we u…
In this paper we analyze the cosmological dynamics of phantom field in a variety of potentials unbounded from above. We demonstrate that the nature of future evolution generically depends upon the steepness of the phantom potential and discuss the fate of Universe accordingly.
Using Leaver's continue fraction and time domain method, we study the wave dynamics of phantom scalar perturbation in a Schwarzschild black string spacetime. We find that the quasinormal modes contain the imprint from the wavenumber $k$ of the fifth dimension. The late-time behaviors are dominated by the difference between the wavenumber $k$ and the mass $μ$ of the phantom scalar perturbation. For $k<μ$, the phantom scalar perturbation in the late-time evolution grows with an exponential rate as in the four-dimensional Schwarzschild black hole spacetime. While, for $k=μ$, the late-time behavio…
It has been claimed in several papers that a phantom energy-dominated universe can undergo a ``big trip'', i.e., tunneling through a wormhole that grows faster than the cosmic substratum due to the accretion of phantom energy, and will reappear on the other mouth of the wormhole. We show that such claims are unfounded and contradict the Einstein equations.
Inspired by the generalization of quantum theory for the case of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with CPT symmetry, we construct a simple classical cosmological scalar field based model describing a smooth transition from ordinary dark energy to the phantom one.
We investigate the universe evolution from inflation to late-time acceleration in a unified way, using a two-component fluid constituted from extended Chaplygin gas alongside a phantom scalar field. We extract solutions for the various cosmological eras, focusing on the behavior of the scale factor, the various density parameters and the equation-of-state parameter. Furthermore, we extract and discuss bouncing solutions. Finally, we examine the perturbations of the model, ensuring about their stability and extracting the predictions for the tensor-to-scalar ratio.
We argue that for $f(R)=R+αR^n$ model of the early universe, the de Sitter point appears as partial attractor for phantom paths. The phantom trajectories then bend their way to the oscillatory period passing near the de Sitter saddle point. Surprisingly, this vicinity is minimized for $1<n\le 3$ where a trajectory could cross the phantom border tangential to the de Sitter point. The only integers in this interval are $2$ and $3$ where $n=2$ reproduces also the most acceptable $f(R)$ model of inflation with strong motivations from quantum theory and also avoiding the vacuum meta-stability. Ther…
We examine cyclic phantom models for the universe, in which the universe is dominated sequentially by radiation, matter, and a phantom dark energy field, followed by a standard inflationary phase. Since this cycle repeats endlessly, the Universe spends a substantial portion of its lifetime in a state for which the matter and dark energy densities have comparable magnitudes, thus ameliorating the coincidence problem. We calculate the fraction of time that the universe spends in such a coincidental state and find that it is nearly the same as in the case of a phantom model with a future big rip.…
In this paper we study cosmological dynamics of phantom as well as non-phantom fields with linear potential in presence of Galileon correction $(\partial_μϕ\partial^μϕ) \Box ϕ$. We show that the Big Crunch singularity is delayed compared to the standard case; the delay crucially depends upon the strength of Galileon correction. As for the phantom Galileon, $ρ_ϕ$ is shown to grow more slowly compared to the standard phantom delaying the approach to singularity. In case, $V\sim ϕ^n, n>4$, Big Rip is also delayed, similar phenomenon is shown to take place for potentials steeper than the exponenti…
We study the influence of phantom fields on strong field gravitational lensing. Supposing that the gravitational field of the supermassive central object of the Galaxy is described by a phantom black hole metric, we estimate the numerical values of the coefficients and observations and find that the influence of the phantom fields is somewhat similar to that of the electric charge in a Reissner-Norström black hole, i.e., the deflect angle and angular separation increase with the phantom constant $b$. However, other observations are contrary to the Reissner-Norström case and show the effects of…
We find that the expansion of the universe is accelerating by analyzing the recent observation data of type $\textsc{I}a$ supernova(SN-Ia) .It indicates that the equation of state of the dark energy might be smaller than -1,which leads to the introduction of phantom models featured by its negative kinetic energy to account for the regime of equation of state parameter $w<-1$.In this paper the possibility of using a non-minimally coupled real scalar field as phantom to realize the equation of state parameter $w<-1$ is discussed. The main equations which govern the evolution of the universe are o…
The unifying approach to early-time and late-time universe based on phantom cosmology is proposed. We consider gravity-scalar system which contains usual potential and scalar coupling function in front of kinetic term. As a result, the possibility of phantom-non-phantom transition appears in such a way that universe could have effectively phantom equation of state at early time as well as at late time. In fact, the oscillating universe may have several phantom and non-phantom phases. As a second model we suggest generalized holographic dark energy where infrared cutoff is identified with combi…
We consider the emergent universe scenario supported by a chiral cosmological model with two interacting dark sector fields: phantom and canonical. We investigate the general properties of the evolution of the kinetic and potential energies as well as the development of the equation of state with time. We present three models based on asymptotic solutions and investigate the phantom part of the potential and chiral metric components. The exact solution corresponding to a global emergent universe scenario, starting from the infinite past and evolving to the infinite future, has been obtained fo…
Many astrophysical data show that the expansion of our universe is accelerating. In this paper, we study the model of phantom with O(N) symmetry in background of loop quantum cosmology(LQC). We investigate the phase-space stability of the corresponding autonomous system and find no stable node but only 2 saddle points in the field of real numbers. The dynamics is similar to the single-field phantom model in LQC[1]. The effect of O(N) symmetry just influence the detail of the universe's evolution. This is a sharp contrast with the result in general relativity, in which the dynamics of scalar fi…
We consider ideal fluid and equivalent scalar field dark energy universes where all four known types of finite-time, future singularities occur at some parameter values. It is demonstrated that pressure/energy density of such quintessence/phantom dark energy diverges in spherically-symmetric spacetime at finite radius or at the center. This may cause the instability of the relativistic star or black hole in such universe. The resolution of the problem via the extra modification of the equation of state is briefly discussed.
We review a dynamical dark energy model scarcely studied in the literature and we introduce two possible generalizations. We discuss separately the behavior of the original model and a minimal extension of it by exploring some early and late times limits, we find that the cosmic components are related by their parameters state. In order to have access to the phantom regime we present two dark energy densities inspired from the holographic approach and from the emergent entropic forces model in the early universe. For the first case we obtain a Type III singularity and in the second proposal we…
In this letter, we have considered the universe is filled with the mixture of tachyonic field and scalar or phantom field. If the tachyonic field interacts with scalar or phantom field, the interaction term decays with time and the energy for scalar field is transferred to tachyonic field or the energy for phantom field is transferred to tachyonic field. The tachyonic field and scalar field potentials always decrease, but phantom field potential always increases.
We consider a non-minimal coupling of a perfect fluid matter system with geometry, which the coupling function is taken to be an arbitrary function of the Ricci scalar. Due to such a coupling, the matter stress tensor is no longer conserved and there is an energy transfer between the two components. By solving the conservation equation and applying the second law of thermodynamics, we show that direction of the energy transfer depends on the equation of state of the matter fluid. In particular, a phantom fluid should loose energy with expansion of the universe. This energy reduction can avoid …
