We examine whether the cosmic ray positron excess observed by PAMELA can be explained by neutralino annihilation in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). The main dark matter annihilation products are the lightest CP-even scalar h1 plus the lightest CP-odd scalar a1, with the a1 decaying into two muons. The energetic positrons needed to explain PAMELA are thus obtained in the NMSSM simply from kinematics. The required large annihilation cross section is obtained from an s-channel resonance with the heavier CP-odd scalar a2. Various experiments constrain the PAMELA-favored NMSSM parameter space, including collider searches for a light a1. These constraints point to a unique corner of the NMSSM parameter space, having a lightest neutralino mass around 160 GeV and a very light pseudoscalar mass less than a GeV. A simple parameterized formula for the charge-dependent solar modulation effects reconciles the discrepancy between the PAMELA data and the estimated background at lower energies. We also discuss the electron and gamma ray spectra from the Fermi LAT observations, and point out the discrepancy between the NMSSM predictions and Fermi LAT preliminary results and possible resolution. An NMSSM explanation of PAMELA makes three striking and uniquely correlated predictions: the rise in the PAMELA positron spectrum will turn over at around 70 GeV, the dark matter particle mass is less than the top quark mass, and a light sub-GeV pseudoscalar will be discovered at colliders.
A two-component dark matter model is studied adopting the degenerate scenario in the R-parity conserving NMSSM. The gravitino LSP and the neutralino NLSP are extremely degenerate in mass, avoiding the BBN bounds and obtaining a high reheating temperature for thermal leptogenesis to work. In this model both gravitino (absolutely stable) and neutralino (quasi-stable) contribute to dark matter, and direct detection searches for neutralino are discussed. Points that survive all the constraints correspond to a singlino-like neutralino.
We study the associated production of selectrons and neutralinos with subsequent leptonic decay of the selectron in eγscattering within the framework of MSSM and NMSSM. Due to the weak couplings of singlino dominated neutralinos, associated neutralino production e^+ + e^- -> neutralino_1 + neutralino_2 at a linear collider can be strongly suppressed in some regions of the parameter space. Then the process e + gamma -> selectron_{L/R} + neutralino_{1/2} -> e + neutralino_{1/2} + neutralino_1 can give additional informations on the underlying theory and the character of neutralino_1 and neutrali…
The gravitino dark matter with neutralino NLSP hypothesis is investigated in the framework of NMSSM. We have considered both the thermal and non-thermal gravitino production mechanisms, and we have taken into account all the collider and cosmological constraints. The maximum allowed reheating temperature after inflation, as well as the maximum allowed gravitino mass are determined.
Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model neutralino dark matter candidates in the (1-15) GeV range are found with a Markov Chain Monte Carlo scanning code. A very light, singlet-like Higgs and/or CP-odd Higgs is needed in order to achieve such light masses. Light scalar Higgses can yield large direct detection cross sections, suitable for an account of the recent claims for signals. Neutralino annihilations via resonant light pseudoscalar Higgs exchanges can overproduce the indirect yield of gamma-rays from dwarf spheroidal galaxies. Hence, direct and indirect detection experiments probe …
We study the viability of the lightest neutralino as a dark matter candidate in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Taking into account accelerator constraints as well as bounds on low-energy observables, and imposing consistency with present bounds on the neutralino relic density, we address the prospects for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter. We find regions of the allowed parameter space where the neutralino detection cross section is within the reach of dark matter detectors, essentially owing to the presence of very light singlet-like Higgses, and to either sin…
The MIMAC project aims to provide a nominal fluorine detector for directional detection of galactic dark matter recoil events. Its expected behavior reaches an important part of the predicted spin dependent elastic scattering interactions of the supersymmetric neutralino with protons. Hence, the parameter space in the MSSM and the NMSSM models with neutralino dark matter could be probed by such experimental efforts. In particular, a good sensitivity to spin dependent interactions tackles parameter space regions to which the predictions on spin independent interactions and indirect signatures a…
We have completed the one-loop renormalisation of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) allowing for and comparing between different renormalisation schemes. A special attention is paid to on-shell schemes. We study a variety of these schemes based on alternative choices of the physical input parameters. In this paper we present our approach to the renormalisation of the NMSSM and report on our results for the neutralino-chargino and sfermion sectors. We will borrow some results from our study of the Higgs sector whose full discussion is left for a separate publication. We …
We provide a scan of the parameter space for neutralino-hadron scattering in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model using an updated value for the strange quark sigma commutator. These results also take into account constraints from WMAP data on the relic density and new constraints from the Large Hadron Collider. We find that the resultant spin-independent cross sections are smaller in magnitude than those found in recent results obtained within the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model, yet still great enough to feasibly allow for detection in the case of bino-like neu…
We analyze the direct detection of neutralino dark matter in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Taking into account all the available constraints from LEPII and Tevatron, including bounds from the muon anomalous magnetic moment and flavor constraint as $b \to s γ$, we compute the neutralino-nucleon cross section and compare the results with the sensitivity of dark matter detectors. We also study the relic abundance of neutralinos, comparing it with WMAP observations. We show that a light singlet-like Higgs can escape accelerator constraints allowing for scenari…
We address the direct detection of neutralino dark matter in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We conduct a detailed analysis of the parameter space, taking into account all the available constraints from LEPII, and compute the neutralino-nucleon cross section. We find that sizable values for the detection cross section, within the reach of dark matter detectors, are attainable in this framework, and are associated with the exchange of very light Higgses, $m_{h_1^0}\lesssim 70$ GeV, the latter exhibiting a significant singlet composition.
A substantial contribution to the SM-like Higgs mass may come from the mixing with the lightest singlet-dominated scalar in NMSSM for moderate or large values of $\tanβ$ [1]. The LSP neutralino in this model may also contain the singlet component - singlino. In this work we analyze the direct detection cross section for a Higgsino-singlino LSP with the emphasis on possible direct detection blind spots in the parameter space. Correlations between the LSP properties and the effects in the Higgs sector coming from the mixing are also discussed.
It was recently shown that light LSP neutralinos could be found in the framework of the NMSSM. These candidates would escape known Particle Physics constraints even though they are relatively light. We now investigate the astrophysical limits which can be set on these particles. We show, in particular, that the Fermi observation of dwarf spheroidal galaxies enable to constrain the parameter space associated with these candidates. Combined with the XENON100 experimental limits, our results illustrate the complementarity between direct and indirect searches for dark matter. Yet, our findings als…
Neutralino dark matter is generally assumed to be relatively heavy, with a mass near the electroweak scale. This does not necessarily need to be the case, however. In the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and other supersymmetric models with an extended Higgs sector, a very light CP-odd Higgs boson can naturally arise making it possible for a very light neutralino to annihilate efficiently enough to avoid being overproduced in the early Universe. In this article, we explore the characteristics of a supersymmetric model needed to include a very light neutralino, 100 MeV $< \…
Spin-independent cross-section for neutralino dark matter scattering off nuclei is investigated in the NMSSM. Several classes of blind spots for direct detection of singlino-Higgsino dark matter are analytically identified, including such that have no analog in the MSSM. It is shown that mixing of the Higgs doublets with the scalar singlet has a big impact on the position of blind spots in the parameter space. In particular, this mixing allows for more freedom in the sign assignment for the parameters entering the neutralino mass matrix, required for a blind spot to occur, as compared to the M…
Within the framework of the Next-To-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) we study neutralino production $e^+e^- \longrightarrow \tildeχ^0_i \tildeχ^0_j$ ($i,j=1,\ldots ,5$) at center-of-mass energies between 100 and 600 GeV and the decays of the heavier neutralinos into the LSP plus a fermion pair, a photon or a Higgs boson. For representative gaugino/higgsino mixing scenarios, where the light neutralinos have significant singlet components, we find some striking differences between the NMSSM and the minimal supersymmetric model. Since in the NMSSM neutralino and Higgs sector are stro…

In this letter, we suggest that a nearby clump of 600-1000 GeV neutralinos may be responsible for the excesses recently observed in the cosmic ray positron and electron spectra by the PAMELA and ATIC experiments. Although neutralino dark matter annihilating throughout the halo of the Milky Way is predicted to produce a softer spectrum than is observed, and violate constraints from cosmic ray antiproton measurements, a large nearby (within 1-2 kiloparsecs of the Solar System) clump of annihilating neutralinos can lead to a spectrum which is consistent with PAMELA and ATIC, while also producing …
Unlike its minimal counterpart, the Next to Minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) allows the possibility that the lightest neutralino could have a mass as small as $\sim 1 {\rm GeV}$ while still providing a significant component of relic dark matter (DM). Such a neutralino can provide an invisible decay mode to the Higgs as well. Further, the observed SM-like Higgs boson ($H_{125}$) could also have an invisible branching fraction as high as $\sim 19\%$. Led by these facts, we first delineate the region of parameter space of the NMSSM with a light neutralino ($M_{{\tildeχ}_{1}^{0}} < 62…
The purpose of this paper is to present a complete and consistent list of the Feynman rules for the vertices of neutralinos and Higgs bosons in the Next-To-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), which does not yet exist in the literature. The Feynman rules are derived from the full expression for the Lagrangian and the mass matrices of the neutralinos and Higgs bosons in the NMSSM. Some crucial differences between the vertex functions of the NMSSM and the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) are discussed.
We test the impact of the ATLAS and CMS multi-lepton searches performed at the LHC with 8 as well as 13 TeV center-of-mass energy (using only the pre-2018 results) on the chargino and neutralino sector of the NMSSM. Our purpose consists in analyzing the actual reach of these searches for a full model and in emphasizing effects beyond the MSSM that affect the performance of current (MSSM-inspired) electroweakino searches. To this end, we consider several scenarios characterizing specific features of the NMSSM electroweakino sector. We then perform a detailed collider study, generating Monte-Car…
We explore the prospects for indirect detection of neutralino dark matter in supersymmetric models with an extended Higgs sector (NMSSM). We compute, for the first time, one-loop amplitudes for NMSSM neutralino pair annihilation into two photons and two gluons, and point out that extra diagrams (with respect to the MSSM), featuring a potentially light CP-odd Higgs boson exchange, can strongly enhance these radiative modes. Expected signals in neutrino telescopes due to the annihilation of relic neutralinos in the Sun and in the Earth are evaluated, as well as the prospects of detection of a ne…
We show that the interplay between the LHC and the e^+ e^- International Linear Collider (ILC) with sqrt{s}=500 GeV might be crucial for the discrimination between the minimal and next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. We present an NMSSM scenario that cannot be distinguished from the MSSM by cross sections and mass measurements if only the light neutralinos and the lightest chargino are kinematically accessible, even if one of the neutralinos has a significant singlino component. Mass predictions for the heavier neutralinos from the ILC analysis and their observation at the LHC lead t…
We investigate neutralino dark matter in the framework of NMSSM performing a scan over its parameter space and calculating neutralino capture and annihilation rates in the Sun. We discuss the prospects of searches for neutralino dark matter in neutrino experiments depending on neutralino content and its main annihilation channel. We recalculate the upper limits on neutralino-proton elastic cross sections directly from neutrino telescopes upper bounds on annihilation rates in the Sun. This procedure has advantages as compared with corresponding recalcalations from the limits on muon flux, namel…
We consider a scenario within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model extended by a singlet chiral superfield, in which neutralino dark matter annihilates to light singlet-like Higgs bosons, which proceed to decay to either electron-positron or muon-antimuon pairs. Unlike neutralino annihilations in the MSSM, this model can provide a good fit to the PAMELA cosmic ray positron fraction excess. Furthermore, the singlet-like scalar Higgs can induce a large Sommerfeld enhancement and provide an annihilation rate sufficient to accommodate the observed positron excess.
We place perturbative unitarity constraints on both the dimensionful and dimensionless parameters in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) Higgs Sector. These constraints, plus the requirement that the singlino and/or Higgsino constitutes at least part of the observed dark matter relic abundance, generate upper bounds on the Higgs, neutralino and chargino mass spectrum. Requiring higher order corrections to be no more than 41% of the tree-level value, we obtain an upper bound of 20 TeV for the heavy Higgses and 12 TeV for the charginos and neutralinos outside defined fine-t…
The next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model can host light neutralino dark matter with mass of order GeV scale. It is dominated by the singlino component as a result of approximate Peccei-Quinn symmetry. This paper is devoted to address the question how light such neutralino dark matter can be in the light of the LHC Run 1 data as well as the latest LUX and Xenon1T limits. In particular, we show the sensitivity of parameter space of dark matter mass with respect to $Z$ boson and SM Higgs invisible decay.
We examine the possibility of electroweak baryogenesis and dark matter in the nMSSM, a minimal extension of the MSSM with a singlet field. This extension avoids the usual domain wall problem of the NMSSM, and also appears as the low energy theory in models of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking with a so-called fat-Higgs boson. We demonstrate that a strong, first order electroweak phase transition, necessary for electroweak baryogenesis, may arise in regions of parameter space where the lightest neutralino provides an acceptable dark matter candidate. We investigate the parameter space in …
Dark matter neutralinos in the constrained minimal supersymmetric model (CMSSM) may account for the recent cosmic ray electron and positron observations reported by the PAMELA and ATIC experiments either through self annihilation or via decay. However, to achieve this, both scenarios require new physics beyond the 'standard' CMSSM, and a unified explanation of the two experiments suggests a neutralino mass of order 700 GeV - 2 TeV. A relatively light neutralino with mass around 100 GeV (300 GeV) can accomodate the PAMELA but not the ATIC observations based on a model of annihilating (decaying)…
We have computed the loop-induced processes of neutralino annihilation into two photons and, for the first time, into a photon and a Z boson in the framework of the NMSSM. The photons produced from these radiative modes are monochromatic and possess a clear "smoking gun" experimental signature. This numerical analysis has been done with the help of the SloopS code, initially developed for automatic one-loop calculation in the MSSM. We have computed the rates for different benchmark points coming from SUGRA and GMSB soft SUSY breaking scenarios and compared them with the MSSM. We comment on how…
The NMSSM provides an excellent dark matter candidate, usually, the lightest neutralino ($\tildeχ^0_1$) being the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), in the universe. It is a mixture of the bino, the neutral wino, the neutral higgsinos, and the singlino. In this work, we investigate the features of the lightest neutralino by concentrating on a specific region of the NMSSM parameter space with small values of both $λ$ and $κ$, taking into account theoretical and experimental constraints, including relic density, direct and indirect detection constraints. We have found that the LSP dark matt…
We explore the parameter space of a Constrained Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with GUT scale boundary conditions (CNMSSM) and find regions where the relic density of the lightest neutralino is compatible with the WMAP measurement. We emphasize differences with the MSSM: cases where annihilation of the LSP occurs via a Higgs resonance at low values of tanβand cases where the LSP has a large singlino component. The particle spectrum as well as theoretical and collider constraints are calculated with NMSSMTools. All neutralino annihilation and coannihilation processes are then com…
The interplay between the LHC and the $e^+ e^-$ International Linear Collider (ILC) with $\sqrt{s}=500$ GeV might be crucial for the discrimination between the minimal and next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. We present an NMSSM scenario, where the light neutralinos have a significant singlino component, that cannot be distinguished from the MSSM by cross sections and mass measurements. Mass and mixing state predictions for the heavier neutralinos from the ILC analysis at different energy stages and comparison with observation at the LHC, lead to clear identification of the particle …
Searches for Dark Matter (DM) particles with indirect detection techniques have reached important milestones with the precise measurements of the anti-proton and gamma-ray spectra, notably by the PAMELA and FERMI-LAT experiments. While the gamma-ray results have been used to test the thermal Dark Matter hypothesis and constrain the Dark Matter annihilation cross section into Standard Model (SM) particles, the anti-proton flux measured by the PAMELA experiment remains relatively unexploited. Here we show that the latter can be used to set a constraint on the neutralino-chargino mass difference.…
We assess the extent to which the NMSSM can allow for light dark matter in the $2\gev\lsim \mcnone\lsim 12\gev$ mass range with correct relic density and large spin-independent direct-detection cross section, $\sigsi$, in the range suggested by \cogent\ and DAMA. For standard assumptions regarding nucleon $s$-quark content and cosmological relic density, $ρ$, we find that the NMSSM falls short by a factor of about 10 to 15 (3 to 5) without (with) significant violation of the current $(g-2)_μ$ constraints.
We present a code to compute the relic density of dark matter in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). Dominant corrections to the Higgs masses are calculated with NMHDECAY as well as theoretical and collider constraints. All neutralino annihilation and coannihilation processes are then computed with an extended version of micrOMEGAs, taking into acount higher order corrections to Higgs vertices. We explore the parameter space of the NMSSM and consider in particular the case of a bino LSP, of a mixed bino-higgsino LSP and of a singlino LSP. As compared to the MSSM, neutral…
Prospects for direct dark matter detection are considered in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). The effective neutralino-quark Lagrangian is obtained and event rates are calculated for Ge-73. Accelerator and cosmological constraints on the NMSSM are included in our numerical analysis, which allows us to conclude that the lightest neutralino from NMSSM could be detected in future dark matter experiments.
We propose a simplified light higgsino-singlino scenario in the NMSSM, in which the masses of the chargino and the lightest neutralino determine the masses and couplings of all 3 lightest neutralinos. This scenario is complementary to the simplified wino-like chargino/neutralino scenario used conventionally for the interpretation of results from trilepton searches, and motivated by lower bounds on the gluino mass in the case of GUT relations between the wino and gluino masses. We present all masses and mixing angles necessary for the determination of production cross sections of the chargino a…
Since the recent results of direct detection experiments at low mass, many authors have revisited the case of light (1 -10) GeV WIMPs. In particular, there have been a few attempts to explain the results from the DAMA/LIBRA, CDMS and/or CoGeNT experiments by invoking neutralinos lighter than 15 GeV. Here we show that in the MSSM, such light particles are completely ruled out by the TEVATRON limits on the mass of the pseudoscalar Higgs. On the contrary, in the NMSSM, we find that light neutralinos could still be viable candidates. In fact, in some cases, they may even have an elastic scattering…
The viability of the lightest neutralino as a dark matter candidate in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model is analysed. We carry out a thorough analysis of the parameter space, taking into account accelerator constraints as well as bounds on low-energy observables, such as the muon anomalous magnetic moment and rare $K$ and $B$ meson decays. The neutralino relic density is also evaluated and consistency with present bounds imposed. Finally, the neutralino direct detection cross section is calculated in the allowed regions of the parameter space and compared to the sensitivities o…
We investigate signatures induced by a very light pseudoscalar Higgs in neutralino decays in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and determine their observability at the LHC. We concentrate on scenarios which feature two light scalar Higgs bosons (one of them is SM-like with a mass of 125 GeV and a singlet-like lighter one) with a very light (singlet-like) pseudoscalar Higgs in the mass range 2m_tau < m_a1 < 2m_b. We consider neutralino-chargino pair production and the subsequent decay X_{2,3}-> X_1 a1, which leads to topologies involving multi-leptons and missing transve…
We analyse the direct detection of neutralino dark matter in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. After performing a detailed analysis of the parameter space, taking into account all the available constraints from LEPII, we compute the neutralino-nucleon cross section, and compare the results with the sensitivity of detectors. We find that sizable values for the detection cross section, within the reach of dark matter detectors, are attainable in this framework. For example, neutralino-proton cross sections compatible with the sensitivity of present experiments c…
A long-lived decaying dark matter as a resolution to Fermi, PAMELA and ATIC anomalies is investigated in the framework of split supersymmetry (SUSY) without R-parity, where the neutralino is regarded as the dark matter and the extreme fine-tuned couplings for the long-lived neutralino are naturally evaded in the usual approach.
We investigate the capability of directional detectors to probe neutralino dark matter in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model and the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with parameters defined at the weak scale. We show that directional detectors such as the future MIMAC detector will probe spin dependent dark matter scattering on nucleons that are beyond the reach of current spin independent detectors. The complementarity between indirect searches, in particular using gamma rays from dwarf spheroidal galaxies, spin dependent and spin independent direct search techniques is em…
In the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model there is a strong correlation between the mass terms corresponding to the singlet Higgs and the singlino interaction states, both of which are proportional to the parameter $κ$. If this parameter is complex, explicit CP-violation occurs in the Higgs as well as the neutralino sectors of the model at the tree level, unlike in the minimal scenario. A small magnitude of $κ$ typically yields a $\cal{O}$(10) GeV lightest neutralino with a dominant singlino component. In such a scenario, the phase of $κ$, beside modifying the properties of the five…
One of the challenging tasks at future experiments is the clear identification of the underlying new physics model. In this study we concentrate on the distinction between different supersymmetric models, the MSSM and the NMSSM, exploring the gaugino/higgsino sector as an alternative to the Higgs sector. Under the assumption that only the light chargino and neutralino masses and polarized cross sections $e^+e^-\to \tildeχ^0_i\tildeχ^0_j$, $\tildeχ^+_i\tildeχ^-_j$ have been measured, we perform a fit of the fundamental MSSM parameters $M_1$, $M_2$, $μ$ and $\tanβ$ and study whether a model dist…
The PAMELA positron excess is analyzed within the framework of nonuniversal SUGRA models with an extended $U(1)^n$ gauge symmetry in the hidden sector leading to neutralino dark matter with either a mixed Higgsino-wino LSP or an essentially pure wino dominated LSP. The Higgsino-wino LSP can produce the observed PAMELA positron excess and satisfy relic density constraints in the extended class of models due to a near degeneracy of the mass spectrum of the extended neutralino sector with the LSP mass. The simultaneous satisfaction of the WMAP relic density data and the PAMELA data is accomplishe…
R-parity conserving supersymmetric models with right-handed (RH) neutrinos are very appealing since they could naturally explain neutrino physics and also provide a good dark matter (DM) candidate such as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). In this work we consider the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) plus RH neutrino superfields, with effective Majorana masses dynamically generated at the electroweak scale (EW). We perform a scan of the relevant parameter space and study both possible DM candidates: RH sneutrino and neutralino. Especially for the case of RH sneutr…
We study a Peccei-Quinn invariant extension of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), which turns out to be free from the tadpole and domain wall problems. Having a non-renormalizable coupling to the axion superfield, the SM singlet added to the Higgs sector can naturally generate an effective Higgs mu term around the weak scale. In the model, the lightest neutralino is dominated by the singlino, which gets a mass only through mixing with the neutral Higgsinos. We explore the phenomenological consequences resulting from the existence of such a relatively light neutralino. T…
Recent results from the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS) experiment have renewed interest in light dark matter with a large spin-independent neutralino-nucleon scattering cross-section. Here, we examine the regions of the Next-to-MSSM (NMSSM) capable of producing a light neutralino with a large spin-independent scattering cross-section, with the scattering mediated by a very light singlet-like scalar, and a 126 GeV Standard Model-like Higgs consistent with the LHC results, while satisfying other relevant cosmological, flavor and collider constraints. We focus on two different scenarios for …
In the Next--To--Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), the Higgs and neutralino/chargino sectors are strongly correlated by four common parameters at tree level. Therefore we analyze the experimental data from both the search for Higgs bosons as well as for neutralinos and charginos at LEP 100 in order to constrain the parameter space and the masses of the neutral Higgs particles in the NMSSM. We find that small singlet vacuum expectation values are ruled out, but a massless neutral Higgs scalar and pseudoscalar is not excluded for most of the parameter space of the NMSSM. Improved li…
In supersymmetric theories like the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), the lightest neutralino with bino or singlino as its dominant component is customarily taken as dark matter (DM) candidate. Since light Higgsinos favored by naturalness can strength the couplings of the DM and thus enhance the DM-nucleon scattering rate, the tension between naturalness and DM direct detection results becomes more and more acute with the improved experimental sensitivity. In this work, we extend the NMSSM by inverse seesaw mechanism to generate neutrino mass, and show that in certain para…
We present a benchmark in the parameter space of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) that provides for a dramatic multi-lepton signal and no jets containing 5 or more leptons resulting from the cascade decays of the third lightest neutralino, $χ^{0}_{3}$, and the lightest chargino, $χ^{\pm}_{1}$, via light charged sleptons. This is a very clean signal with almost no Standard Model (SM) background. In some cases, a total signal of $\ge 3 $leptons + 0 jets can be detected at the $5 σ$ level at the LHC running at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with approximately 3 fb$^{-1}$ of data and wi…
We point out another important production channel of a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson $a_1$ via the decays of neutralinos, including $\widetildeχ_{2,3}^0 \to \widetildeχ_{1}^0 a_1$, in the framework of the NMSSM. We scan the whole parameter space using the most up-to-date version of NMHDECAY and search for regions where $B(\widetildeχ_{2,3}^0 \to \widetildeχ_{1}^0 a_1) > 0.5$. If the gluino and squarks are light enough for copious production of SUSY events at the LHC, there would be numerous number of $\widetildeχ_{2,3}^0$ in subsequent decays of gluinos and squarks. Therefore, the production …
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) includes a Higgs iso-singlet superfield in addition to the two Higgs doublet superfields of the minimal supersymmetric extension. The Higgs sector and neutralino sectors of this model are examined within the context of a future linear collider.
We study the indirect detection of neutralino dark matter using positrons and gamma rays from its annihilation in the galactic halo. Considering the HESS data as the spectrum constituting the gamma--ray background, we compare the prospects for the experiments GLAST and PAMELA in a general supergravity framework with non--universal scalar and gaugino masses. We show that with a boost factor of about 10, PAMELA will be competitive with GLAST for typical NFW cuspy profiles.
We highlight the differences of the dark matter sector between the constrained minimal supersymmetric SM (CMSSM) and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric SM (NMSSM) including the 126 GeV Higgs boson using GUT scale parameters. In the dark matter sector the two models are quite orthogonal: in the CMSSM the WIMP is largely a bino and requires large masses from the LHC constraints. In the NMSSM the WIMP has a large singlino component and is therefore independent of the LHC SUSY mass limits. The light NMSSM neutralino mass range is of interest for the hints concerning light WIMPs in the Fermi data. …
The new minimal supersymmetric standard model (nMSSM), a variant of the general next to minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) without $Z_3$ symmetry, features a naturally light singlino with a mass below 75 GeV. In light of the new constraints from LHC Run-1 on the Higgs couplings, sparticles searches and flavour observables, we define the parameter space of the model which is compatible with both collider and dark matter (DM) properties. Among the regions compatible with these constraints, implemented through NMSSMTools, SModelS and MadAnalysis 5, only one with a singlino lightest sup…
Recently PAMELA released their first results on the positron and antiproton ratios. Stimulated by the new data, we studied the cosmic ray propagation models and calculated the secondary positron and antiproton spectra. The low energy positron ratio can be consistent with data in the convection propagation model. Above $\sim 10$ GeV PAMELA data shows a clear excess on the positron ratio. However, the secondary antiproton is roughly consistent with data. The positron excess may be a direct evidence of dark matter annihilation or decay. We compare the positron and anti-proton spectra with data by…
