We point out another important production channel of a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson $a_1$ via the decays of neutralinos, including $\widetildeχ_{2,3}^0 \to \widetildeχ_{1}^0 a_1$, in the framework of the NMSSM. We scan the whole parameter space using the most up-to-date version of NMHDECAY and search for regions where $B(\widetildeχ_{2,3}^0 \to \widetildeχ_{1}^0 a_1) > 0.5$. If the gluino and squarks are light enough for copious production of SUSY events at the LHC, there would be numerous number of $\widetildeχ_{2,3}^0$ in subsequent decays of gluinos and squarks. Therefore, the production rates of $a_1$ via neutralino decays would be more important than $h \to a_1 a_1$ and others. Potentially, the final state is filled with many $τ$ leptons, which can be reconstructed at the mass of $a_1$. This is a clean, observable, and distinguishable signature for NMSSM.
Neutralinos with a large singlino component may appear in extended supersymmetric models with additional singlet Higgs fields. Since singlinos do not couple to (s)fermions and gauge bosons, the cross sections for the production of singlino dominated neutralinos are generally small. Within the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and an E_6 inspired model we study neutralino production e^+ e^- --> neutralino_1 neutralino_2 (neutralino_1,2 neutralino_3) with a singlino dominated neutralino_2 (neutralino_3). It is shown that neutralinos with a singlino contributi…
We consider the neutralino sector in the Minimal Non--minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MNSSM). We argue that there exists a theoretical upper bound on the lightest neutralino mass in the MNSSM. An approximate solution for the mass of the lightest neutralino is obtained.
We analyze the experimental data from the search for new particles at LEP 100 and obtain mass bounds for the neutralinos of the Next--To--Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). We find that for $\tanβ\gsim 5.5$ a massless neutralino is still possible, while the lower mass bound for the second lightest neutralino corresponds approximately to that for the lightest neutralino in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM).
We report exact analytical expressions relating the fundamental parameters describing the neutralino sector in the context of the left-right supersymmetric model. The method used for such a effects is the projector formalism deduced without take into account the Jarlskog's projector formulae. Also, expressions for the neutralino masses and the neutralino mixing matrix are determined . The results are compared with numerical and analytical ones obtained in similar scenarios in the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model.
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, neutralinos lighter than 50 GeV are compatible with all accelerator, precision, and cosmological bounds. Such neutralinos might constitute a relevant decay channel for the Higgs boson, modifying its expected signatures at hadron colliders. We study the branching ratio h --> χχand determine the region in the supersymmetric parameter space where it is sizable. We have found that, in fact, the Higgs may dominantly decay into neutralino pairs. Besides, as a result of this new channel, the branching ratio into visible modes, such as h --> γγ, gets suppr…
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) includes a Higgs iso-singlet superfield in addition to the two Higgs doublet superfields of the minimal supersymmetric extension. The Higgs sector and neutralino sectors of this model are examined within the context of a future linear collider.
We discuss constraints on SUSY models with non-unified gaugino masses and R_P conservation. We derive a lower bound on the neutralino mass combining the direct limits from LEP, the indirect limits from gmuon, bsgamma, Bsmumu and the relic density constraint from WMAP. The lightest neutralino (mneutralino=6GeV) is found in models with a light pseudoscalar with MA<200GeV and a large value for $tanβ$. Models with heavy pseudoscalars lead to mneutralino>18(29)GeV for $\tanβ=50(10)$. We show that even a very conservative bound from the muon anomalous magnetic moment can increase the lower bound on …
The goal of this article is to derive the Feynman rules involving charginos, neutralinos, double charged gauge bosons and sleptons in a 3-3-1 supersymmetric model. Using these Feynman rules we will calculate the production of a double charged chargino with a neutralino and also the production of a pair of single charged charginos, both in an electron- electron $e^-e^-$ process.
Fermion superpartners - neutralinos and charginos in the supersymmetric economical 3-3-1 model are studied. By imposition R parity, their masses and eigenstates are derived. Assuming that Bino-like is dark matter, its mass density is calculated. The cosmological dark matter density gives a bound on mass of LSP neutralino in the range of 20 - 100 GeV, while the bound on mass of the lightest slepton is in the range of 60 - 130 GeV
The neutralino sector in E_6 inspired supersymmetric models with extra neutral gauge bosons and singlet Higgs fields contains additional gaugino and singlino states compared to the MSSM. We discuss the neutralino mixing in rank 5 and rank 6 models and analyze the supersymmetric parameter space where the light neutralinos have mainly singlino or MSSM character. The neutralino character, resonance effects of the new gauge bosons and, assuming mSUGRA-type RGEs, different selectron masses lead to significant differences between the MSSM and the extended models in neutralino production at an e^+e^-…
We study properties of the lightest neutralino (χ) and calculate its cosmological relic density in a supersymmetric U(1)' model with a secluded U(1)' breaking sector (the S-model). The lightest neutralino mass is smaller than in the minimal supersymmetric standard model; for instance, m_χ< 100 GeV in the limit that the U(1)' gaugino mass is large compared to the electroweak scale. We find that the Z-χ-χcoupling can be enhanced due to the singlino components in the extended neutralino sector. Neutralino annihilation through the Z-resonance then reproduces the measured cold dark matter density o…
We study the neutralino sector of the left-right supersymmetric model. In addition to the possibilities available in the minimal supersymmetric model, the neutralino states can be superpartners of the U(1)_{B-L} gauge boson, the neutral SU(2)_R neutral gauge boson, or of the Higgs triplets. We analyze neutralino masses and determine the parameter regions for which the lightest neutralino can be one of the new pure states. We then calculate the relic density of the dark matter for each of these states and impose the constraints coming from the rho parameter, the anomalous magnetic moment of the…
We calculate QCD correction to the neutralino annihilation cross section into quark anti-quark final state and discuss its implications to the calculation of neutralino relic density. We see that the QCD correction enhances the pair-annihilation cross section by O(10 %) when final-state quarks are non-relativistic. Consequently, when the lightest neutralinos dominantly annihilate into a t\bar{t} pair, the relic density of the lightest neutralino is significantly affected by the QCD correction, in particular when the lightest-neutralino mass is close to the top-quark mass.
We study the production of the lightest neutralinos in the radiative process $e^+e^- \to \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_1γ$ in low energy supersymmetric models for the International Linear Collider energies. This includes the minimal supersymmetric standard model as well as its extension with an additional chiral Higgs singlet superfield, the nonminimal supersymmetric standard model. We compare and contrast the dependence of the signal cross section on the parameters of the neutralino sector of the minimal and nonminimal supersymmetric standard model. We also consider the background to this process com…
We consider the neutralino mass matrix in a supersymmetric theory based on SU(2) $\times$ U(1) gauge group with arbitrary number of singlet, doublet and triplet Higgs superfields. We derive an upper bound on the mass of the lightest neutralino, and a lower bound on the mass of the heaviest neutralino, in such a theory. Assuming grand unification of the gauge couplings, the upper bound on the mass of the lightest neutralino can be expressed in terms of the gluino mass. For a gluino mass of 200 GeV, the tree level upper bound on the mass of the lightest neutralino is 92 GeV, which increases to 1…
We study the production of the lightest neutralinos in the radiative process $e^+e^- \to \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_1γ$ in low energy supersymmetric models for the International Linear Collider energies with longitudinally polarized electron and positron beams. For this purpose we consider the case of nonminimal supersymmetric standard model as well as the case of minimal supersymmetric standard model. At the first stage of a linear collider, with $\sqrt{s} =500$ GeV, the radiative production of the lightest neutralinos may be a viable channel to study supersymmetric partners of the Standard Model …
We discuss associated neutralino production e^+ e^- --> \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_2 with both beams polarized in the MSSM, NMSSM and an E_6 model. It is shown that neutralinos with a large singlino component can be produced at a high luminosity linear collider in a broad parameter range. Polarization effects in the extended models are compared over the whole parameter space where the lightest neutralino is mainly a singlino. We explain the complete different behavior of these models in some parameter regions, which may help to identify the respective supersymmetric model.
The purpose of this paper is to present a complete and consistent list of the Feynman rules for the vertices of neutralinos and Higgs bosons in the Next-To-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), which does not yet exist in the literature. The Feynman rules are derived from the full expression for the Lagrangian and the mass matrices of the neutralinos and Higgs bosons in the NMSSM. Some crucial differences between the vertex functions of the NMSSM and the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) are discussed.
Within the framework of the Next-To-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) we study neutralino production $e^+e^- \longrightarrow \tildeχ^0_i \tildeχ^0_j$ ($i,j=1,\ldots ,5$) at center-of-mass energies between 100 and 600 GeV and the decays of the heavier neutralinos into the LSP plus a fermion pair, a photon or a Higgs boson. For representative gaugino/higgsino mixing scenarios, where the light neutralinos have significant singlet components, we find some striking differences between the NMSSM and the minimal supersymmetric model. Since in the NMSSM neutralino and Higgs sector are stro…
We adopt the SUSY benchmark scenario SPS 1a in supersymmetric models where the Higgs sector is extended by singlet superfields. We consider light neutralinos with dominant singlino character whose couplings are generally suppressed. The cross sections for direct production of the singlino-dominated neutralinos can be of the order of several fb for singlet vevs of some TeV. Hence even exotic neutralinos which are not the LSP and are omitted in the decay chains of the other supersymmetric particles may be visible at a high luminosity linear e^+e^- collider. If, however, the LSP is singlino-domin…
The lightest neutralino is a compelling candidate to account for cold dark matter in the universe in supersymmetric theories with $R$--parity. In the CP-invariant theory, the neutralino relic density can be found in accord with recent WMAP data if neutralino annihilation in the early universe occurs via the s-channel $A$ funnel. In contrast, in the CP-noninvariant theory two heavy neutral Higgs bosons can contribute to the Higgs funnel mechanism significantly due to a CP-violating {\it complex} mixing between two heavy states, in particular, when they are almost degenerate. With a simple analy…
We investigate signatures induced by a very light pseudoscalar Higgs in neutralino decays in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and determine their observability at the LHC. We concentrate on scenarios which feature two light scalar Higgs bosons (one of them is SM-like with a mass of 125 GeV and a singlet-like lighter one) with a very light (singlet-like) pseudoscalar Higgs in the mass range 2m_tau < m_a1 < 2m_b. We consider neutralino-chargino pair production and the subsequent decay X_{2,3}-> X_1 a1, which leads to topologies involving multi-leptons and missing transve…
We study the elastic scattering of the lightest neutralino with a nucleus in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with explicit flavor preserving CP violation, including the one-loop CP-violating neutral Higgs-boson mixing effects induced dominantly by the CP phases in the top and bottom (s)quark sectors. We construct the most general form of the effective Lagrangian for the neutralino-nucleus scattering in the limit of vanishing momentum transfers and then we perform a comprehensive analysis of the effects of the complex CP phases on the mass spectra of the lighte…
We show that a supersymmetric neutral Higgs boson with a mass of about 115 GeV and with the other prerequisites required by the LEP Higgs events would be compatible with the detection of relic neutralinos in current set-ups for WIMP direct search. Thus this putative Higgs would fit remarkably well in an interpretation in terms of relic neutralinos of the annual-modulation effect recently measured in a WIMP direct experiment. We also show that the cosmological abundance of the relevant neutralinos reaches values of cosmological interest.
We have considered neutralino to be the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) in the framework of minimal Anomaly Mediated Supersymmetric (mAMSB) model. We have studied variation of neutralino mass with the supersymmetric parameters. Considering these neutralinos to be the candidates for weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) or cold dark matter (CDM), we have calculated the neutralino nucleon scalar cross-sections and compared them with DAMA-NaI neutralino direct detection search results. From this study we observe that the mAMSB model results cannot explain the allowed region in WIMP ma…
Neutralinos $\tildeχ^0$ in supersymmetric theories, the spin--1/2 Majorana--type superpartners of the U(1) and SU(2) neutral electroweak gauge bosons and SU(2) neutral Higgs bosons, are expected to be among light supersymmetric particles so that they can be produced copiouslyvia direct pair production and/or from cascade decays of other sparticles such as sleptons at the planned Large Hadron Collider and the prospective International Linear Collider. Considering the prospects of having both highly polarized neutralinos and possibility of reconstructing their decay rest frames, we provide a sys…
We study pair annihilations of the neutralino dark matter in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with CP violation. We consider the case that the higgsino mass and the trilinear scalar couplings have CP-violating phases of order unity, taking a scenario that the scalar fermions in the first two generations are much heavier than those in the third generation to avoid a severe constraint from experimental limits on electric dipole moments. It is found that, when the lightest neutralino ($χ$) is bino-like, the cross sections of the $W$-boson pair production $χχ$ $\to$ $W^+W^-$ and the light…
We present a complete and extensive analysis of associated chargino and neutralino production in the framework of a supersymmetric theory augmented by left-right symmetry. This model provides additional gaugino and higgsino states in both the neutral and charged sectors, thus potentially enhancing new physics signals at the LHC. For a choice of benchmark scenarios, we calculate cross sections for 7, 8 and 14 TeV. We then simulate events expected to be produced at the LHC, and classify them according to the number of leptons in the final state. We devise methods to reduce the background and com…
We consider non-standard cosmological models in which the late decay of a scalar field $ϕ$ reheats the Universe to a low reheating temperature, between 5 MeV and the standard freeze-out temperature of neutralinos of mass $m_χ$. We point out that in these models all neutralinos with standard density $Ω_{\rm std} \gtrsim 10^{-5} (100 {\rm GeV}/m_χ)$ can have the density of cold dark matter, provided the right combination of the following two parameters can be achieved in the high energy theory: the reheating temperature, and the ratio of the number of neutralinos produced per $ϕ$ decay over the …
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with conserved R-parity, the decays of the next-to-lightest neutralino into the lightest neutralino and two leptons are always involved in each supersymmetric particle decay chain. In this thesis we calculate one-loop corrections to the two-body decays of the next-to-lightest neutralino into a lepton and a slepton, which again decays into another lepton and the lightest neutralino. We also investigate a scenario where the next-to-lightest neutralino can undergo three-body decays. Not only the branching ratios of leptonic decay modes, but also the di…
The extra particles provided by Supersymmetry (SUSY) appear as natural candidates for exotica such as the missing Dark Matter of the Universe. The particle candidates for Dark Matter, and the basic elements of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model are reviewed. The needed elements to compute the neutralino counting rate are given, considering new Yukawa loop corrections to the neutralino-neutralino-Higgs boson couplings when the neutralino is a Bino-like state. Including the new loop corrections in the Bino limit, the counting rate is improved for several values of the sof…
We discuss selectron pair production in e- e- scattering. These processes can only occur via t-channel neutralino exchange, provided that the neutralinos are Majorana fermions. We concentrate on the processes e- e- -> e^~_L e^~_L,e^~_R e^~_R -> e- X^~_1^0 e- X^~_2^0 -> e- X^~_1^0 e- X^~_1^0 f f, in which a complete determination of the final state momenta is possible without using the selectron masses as input. The experimental reconstruction of the selectron masses in this decay channel provides clear evidence of the Majorana character of the neutralinos, which is confirmed by the analysis of…
We review the direct detection of supersymmetric dark matter in the light of recent experimental results. In particular, we show that regions in the parameter space of several supergravity scenarios with a neutralino-nucleon cross section of order of $10^{-6}$ pb, i.e., where current dark matter detectors are sensitive, can be obtained. These are scenarios with large $\tan β$, with non-universal soft supersymmetry-breaking terms, with multi-TeV masses for scalar superpartners known as `focus point' supersymmetry, and finally scenarios with intermediate unification scale which appear naturally …
The radiative decay Z2-> Z1 gamma proceeds at the one-loop level in the MSSM. It can be the dominant decay mode for the second lightest neutralino Z2 in certain regions of parameter space of supersymmetric models, where either a dynamical and/or kinematic enhancement of the branching fraction occurs. We perform an updated numerical study of this decay mode in both the minimal supergravity model (mSUGRA) and in the more general MSSM framework. In mSUGRA, the largest rates are found in the ``focus point'' region, where the mu parameter becomes small, and the lightest neutralinos become higgsino-…
We determine the neutralino and chargino masses in the MSSM at one-loop. We perform a Feynman diagram calculation in the on-shell renormalization scheme, including quark/squark and lepton/slepton loops. We find generically the corrections are of order 6%. For a 20 GeV neutralino the corrections can be larger than 20%. The corrections change the region of $μ,\ M_2,\ \tanβ$ parameter space which is ruled out by LEP data. We demonstrate that, e.g., for a given $μ$ and $\tanβ$ the lower limit on the parameter $M_2$ can shift by 20 GeV.
The "$μ$ from $ν$" supersymmetric standard model ($μν$SSM) can accommodate the newly discovered Higgs-like scalar boson with a mass around 125 GeV. This model provides a solution to the $μ$-problem and simultaneously reproduces correct neutrino physics by the simple use of right-handed neutrino superfields. These new superfields together with the introduced $R$-parity violation can produce novel and characteristic signatures of the $μν$SSM at the LHC. We explore the signatures produced through two-body Higgs decays into the new states, provided that these states lie below in the mass spectrum.…
In an R-parity violating supersymmetric scenario, the lightest neutralino $\tilde χ^0_1$ is no longer a stable particle. We calculate the branching ratio for the decay mode $\tilde χ^0_1 \longrightarrow νγ$ which occurs at the one-loop level. Taking into account bilinear as well as trilinear lepton number violating interactions as the sources of R-parity violation, we make a detailed scan of the parameter space, both with and without gaugino mass unification and including the constraints on the neutrino sector from the recent Superkamiokande results. This study enables one to suggest interesti…
We investigated the electroweak corrections from one-loop diagrams involving the third generation (s)quarks to the decay width of process $\tildeχ_1^+ \to W^+ \tildeχ_1^{0}$ in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Our calculation shows that these corrections are not very sensitive to the mass of the lightest neutralino $\tildeχ_1^{0}$ and the sbottom mixing angle $θ_{b}$, but depend strongly on the top squark mixing angle $θ_{t}$ and tan$β$. With our chosen parameters, we find that these radiative corrections can exceed 10%, therefore they should be taken into account fo…
We examine a possibility to explain the signals of dark matter direct detection from DAMA and CoGeNT experiments, under the framework of supersymmetric extension of the standard model. For this purpose, we introduce four Higgs doublet fields and assume that one pair of Higgs fields which have very small vacuum expectation values gives sizable effects for annihilation and scattering processes of dark matter. We show that the preferred parameter regions for DAMA and CoGeNT results can be simultaneously explained by supersymmetric four-Higgs doublet model with the parameters consistent with the o…
If the sneutrino mass is below the chargino mass, the dominant decay mode of the lightest chargino is via a two-body decay channel $χ^{\pm}_1 \ra \tildeν + l^{\pm}$. Sneutrinos are invisible in $R$-parity conserving supersymmetric models and, if the mass gap $m(χ^{\pm}_1)-m(\tildeν)$ is sufficiently small, the soft decay lepton may escape detection leading to invisible chargino decays. This ``blind spot'' of the supersymmetry parameter space would jeopardize the chargino search at LEP2. We point out that such a scenario can be tested by searching for single $W$ events in $e^+e^- \ra W^+W^-$, w…
We study polarization and spin correlation effects in the MSSM and in extended supersymmetric models at an e^+e^- linear collider with polarized beams. The production of light neutralinos e^+ e^- --> \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_2 and the subsequent decay \tildeχ^0_2 --> \tildeχ^0_1 e^+ e^- including full spin correlations is compared in three supersymmetric models: MSSM, NMSSM and an E_6-inspired model with an additional U(1)' gauge group. It is shown that polarization and spin effects can lead to a complete different behavior of these models. Finally, the dependence of the cross section and the dec…
We review the prospects of detecting supersymmetric dark matter in the framework of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, and compare indirect with direct detection capabilities.
We assess the extent to which the NMSSM can allow for light dark matter in the $2\gev\lsim \mcnone\lsim 12\gev$ mass range with correct relic density and large spin-independent direct-detection cross section, $\sigsi$, in the range suggested by \cogent\ and DAMA. For standard assumptions regarding nucleon $s$-quark content and cosmological relic density, $ρ$, we find that the NMSSM falls short by a factor of about 10 to 15 (3 to 5) without (with) significant violation of the current $(g-2)_μ$ constraints.
We perform a detailed analysis of dark matter signals of supersymmetric models containing an extra $U(1)^\prime$ gauge group. We investigate scenarios in which either the right sneutrino or the lightest neutralino are phenomenologically acceptable dark matter candidates and we explore the parameter spaces of different supersymmetric realisations featuring an extra $U(1)^\prime$. We impose consistency with low energy observables, with known mass limits for the superpartners and $Z^\prime$ bosons, as well as with Higgs boson signal strengths, and we moreover verify that predictions for the anoma…
We investigate the associated production of neutralinos $e^+e^-\to\tildeχ^0_1\tildeχ^0_2$ accompanied by the neutralino leptonic decay $\tildeχ^0_2\to\tildeχ^0_1 \ell^+\ell^-$, taking into account initial beam polarization and production-decay spin correlations in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with general CP phases but without generational mixing in the slepton sector. The stringent constraints from the electron EDM on the CP phases are also included in the discussion. Initial beam polarizations lead to three CP--even distributions and one CP--odd distribution, which can be studie…
We study the neutralino relic density in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with natural light Higgs sector in which all Higgs masses, the supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking parameters, and the higgsino mass parameter mu are of order the weak scale. To realize this situation we adopt nonuniversal Higgs masses at the grand unified scale. We show that in some parameter space in which the SUSY breaking parameters are comparatively small, not only the constraint from the observed relic density of dark matter but also the LEP Higgs bound and the constraint from the b ->s gamma process are satisfi…
A complete phenomenological study of the next-to-lightest neutralino decays is performed in the MSSM. The widths and branching ratios for all the possible decay channels (including the radiative decay X0(2) --> X0(1) gamma and the decay into a light Higgs X0(2) --> X0(1) h0) are studied in detail as functions of all the SuSy parameters of the model. Particular attention is paid to situations that are interesting for LEP2 searches. Non-trivial decay patterns are found that critically depend on the region of the parameter space considered.
We study the production of the lightest neutralinos in the radiative process $e^+e^- \to \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_1γ$ in supersymmetric models with grand unification. We consider models wherein the standard model gauge group $SU(3)_c \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$ is unified into the grand unified gauge groups SU(5), or SO(10). We study this process at energies that may be accessible at a future International Linear Collider. We compare and contrast the dependence of the signal cross section on the grand unified gauge group, and different representations of the grand unified gauge group, into whic…
We study the radiative electroweak symmetry breaking and the relic abundance of neutralino dark matter in the supersymmetric type I seesaw model. In this model, there exist threshold corrections to Higgs bilinear terms coming from heavy singlet sneutrino loops, which make the soft supersymmetry breaking (SSB) mass for up-type Higgs shift at the seesaw scale and thus a minimization condition for the Higgs potential is affected. We show that the required fine-tuning between the Higgsino mass parameter mu and the SSB mass for up-type Higgs may be reduced at the electroweak scale, due to the thres…
The discovery of a particle that could be the lightest CP-even Higgs of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) and the lack of evidence so far for supersymmetry at the LHC have many profound implications, including for the phenomenology of supersymmetric dark matter. In this study, we re-evaluate and give an update on the prospects for detecting supersymmetric neutralinos with neutrino telescopes, focussing in particular on the IceCube/DeepCore Telescope as well as on its proposed extension, PINGU. Searches for high-energy neutrinos from the Sun with IceCube probe MS…
In the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), the neutralinos, the spin--1/2 Majorana superpartners of the neutral gauge and Higgs bosons, are expected to be among the light supersymmetric particles that can be produced copiously at future high--energy colliders. We analyze two--body neutralino decays into a neutralino plus a $Z$ boson or a lightest neutral Higgs boson $h$, allowing the relevant parameters to have complex phases. We show that the two--body tree--level decays of neutralinos are kinematically allowed in a large region of the MSSM parameter space and they can provide us wi…
In the preceding reference [CKMZ] we have shown how the fundamental gaugino and higgsino parameters of the chargino and neutralino system in supersymmetric theories can be determined in high--precision experiments at $e^+e^-$ linear colliders. Within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model these parameters can be reconstructed completely even if only the light charginos $\tildeχ^\pm_1$ and the light neutralinos $\tildeχ^0_1$ and $\tildeχ^0_2$ are kinematically accessible in the initial phase of these machines, as demonstrated in this Addendum.
Supersymmetric grand unified models based on the gauge group SO(10) are especially attractive in light of recent data on neutrino masses. The simplest SO(10) SUSY GUT models predict unification of third generation Yukawa couplings in addition to the usual gauge coupling unification. Recent surveys of Yukawa unified SUSY GUT models predict an inverted scalar mass hierarchy in the spectrum of sparticle masses if the superpotential mu term is positive. In general, such models tend to predict an overabundance of dark matter in the universe. We survey several solutions to the dark matter problem in…
We investigate the supersymmetric electroweak corrections to the decay widths of the CP-odd and the heavy CP-even Higgs bosons into chargino or neutralino pair in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. The corrections involve the contributions of the order $O(α_{ew} m_{t(b)}^3/m_W^3)$, $O(α_{ew} m_{t(b)}^2/m_W^2)$ and $O(α_{ew} m_{t(b)}/m_W)$. The detailed calculations of the electroweak corrections to the following decay processes: $A^0/H^0 \to \tildeχ^+_1 \tildeχ^-_1$ and $A^0/H^0 \to \tildeχ^0_2 \tildeχ^0_2$ are presented in this paper. We find that these relative corre…
Supersymmetric extensions to the standard model provide viable dark matter candidates, and can introduce additional charge-parity (CP) violation, needed for obtaining the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe. We study the possibilities of scalar and neutralino dark matter with spontaneous CP violation in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model with a right handed neutrino. The observed relic density can be produced both by neutralino and right handed sneutrino as the lightest supersymmetric particle, but when CP is violated, the new annihilation channels lower the achieved relic…
We investigate the prospects for neutralino dark matter within the Supersymmetric Standard Model (SSM) including the constraints from universal soft supersymmetry breaking and radiative breaking of the electroweak symmetry. The latter is enforced by using the one-loop Higgs effective potential which automatically gives the one-loop corrected Higgs boson masses. We perform an exhaustive search of the allowed five-dimensional parameter space and find that the neutralino relic abundance $Ω_χh^2_0$ depends most strongly on the ratio $ξ_0\equiv m_0/m_{1/2}$. For $ξ_0\gg1$ the relic abundance is alm…
We present a complete calculation of the QCD and SUSY-QCD corrections to neutralino pair annihilation into bottom quark-antiquark pairs through exchange of a pseudoscalar Higgs boson, which is the dominant process in the cosmological A-funnel region of the mSUGRA model. We present numerical predictions for the annihilation cross section and discuss the influence of the correction terms on the cold dark matter relic density with respect to recent cosmological data.
We consider the decays of a $B_s$-meson into a pair of lightest supersymmetric particles (LSP) in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. It is found that the parameter space for light LSP's in the range of 1 GeV can be appreciably constrained by looking for such decays.
The LEP experiments give a lower bound on the neutralino mass of about 46 GeV which, however, relies on a supersymmetric grand unification relation. Dropping this assumption, the experimental lower bound on the neutralino mass vanishes completely. Recent analyses suggest, however, that in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), a light neutralino dark matter candidate has a lower bound on its mass of about 7 GeV. In light of this, we investigate the mass sensitivity at the ILC for very light neutralinos. We study slepton pair production, followed by the decay of the sleptons to a lep…
We provide the next-to-leading order (NLO) predictions for the neutralino pair production via quark-antiquark annihilation and gluon-gluon fusion at the CERN Large Hadron Collider, focusing on the lightest neutralino which is likely to be the lightest supersymmetric particle. The dependence of total LO, NLO cross sections, and $K$ factor on the center-of-mass energy, the $M_2$-$μ$ mass plane, the squark mass, and the factorization and renormalization scales is comprehensively analyzed for three different scenarios in the minimal supersymmetric standard model and the constrained minimal supersy…
