We perform detailed study of the Higgs production and decay, when Higgs is emitted from the black holes produced in proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. We show that black hole production can significantly enhance the signal for the Higgs search at the LHC. We evaluate rapidity distribution of diphotons and transverse momentum distribution of bottom quarks, photons, tau leptons, top quarks and W bosons from Higgs decay, when Higgs is emitted from the black hole and also in case when these particles are produced directly from the black hole evaporation. We compare our results with the standard model backgrounds. We find that Higgs production from black holes is dominant over standard model production for $p_T^H > 100$ GeV, when $M_P=1$TeV. Diphotons from Higgs, when Higgs is produced from evaporation of black holes, are dominant over the standard model prediction, for diphoton rapidity $|y_{γγ}| \leq 1$, while bottom quarks are dominant over QCD background for large bottom quark transverse momentum, $p_T^b > 300$ GeV, when $M_P=1$ TeV. We show that measurements of the photon and bottom quark transverse momentum distribution can provide valuable information about the value of the fundamental Planck scale. We also propose a new signal for black hole production at the LHC, an onset of increasing transverse momentum distribution of bottom quarks with large transverse momentum.
Searches for charged Higgs bosons are an integral part of current and future investigations at the LHC. The LHC Higgs Cross Section Working Group (LHCHXSWG) was created to provide cross sections, branching ratios, analysis strategies etc. for Higgs boson searches at the LHC. We briefly review progress and results for charged Higgs bosons in and for the LHCHXSWG.
One of the major goal of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is to probe the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism and the generation of the masses of the elementary particles. We review the physics of the Higgs sector in the Standard Model. The main production channels of the Higgs production at the LHC are reviewed. The prospects for the discovering the Higgs particles at the LHC and the study of their fundamental properties are summarizes.
We estimate the reach of global Higgs analyses at a 27 TeV hadron collider in terms of Higgs couplings and in terms of a gauge-invariant effective Lagrangian, including invisible Higgs decays and the Higgs self-coupling. The new collider will indirectly probe new physics in the TeV range and allow for a meaningful test of the Higgs self-coupling also embedded in a global analysis.
In this talk I discuss the status and future prospects of testing the Higgs self-couplings at the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) as well as several Beyond Standard Model (BSM) scenarios that could be probed via Higgs pair production in the coming years.
We review the most relevant LHC searches at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV looking for low mass bosons arising from exotic decay of the Standard Model Higgs and highlighting their impact on both supersymmetric and not supersymmetric Beyond the Standard Model scenarios.
In the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT), we study the $t$-channel single top production in association with a Higgs boson at 8 and 14 TeV LHC. We find that the cross section can be enhanced obviously in this model compared to the Standard Model. By performing a simple parton-level simulation through $pp\rightarrow t(\rightarrow \ell^{+}νb)h(\rightarrow b\bar{b})j$ at 14 TeV LHC, we find that the observability of the signal is promising in the favorable parameter space.
We propose a method to determine the trilinear Higgs self coupling that is alternative to the direct measurement of Higgs pair production total cross sections and differential distributions. The method relies on the effects that electroweak loops featuring an anomalous trilinear coupling would imprint on single Higgs production at the LHC. We first calculate these contributions to all the phenomenologically relevant Higgs production ($gg{\rm F}$, VBF, $WH$, $ZH$, $t\bar tH$) and decay ($γγ$, $WW^{*}/ZZ^{*}\to 4f$, $b\bar b$, $ττ$) modes at the LHC and then estimate the sensitivity to the trili…
A 100 TeV proton-proton collider will be an extremely effective way to probe the electroweak sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). In this paper, we describe a search strategy for discovering pair-produced Higgsino-like next-to-lightest supersymmetric particles (NLSPs) at a 100 TeV hadron collider that decay to Bino-like lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) via intermediate Z and SM Higgs boson that in turn decay to a pair of leptons and a pair of b-quarks respectively: $\widetilde{N}_2^0\widetilde{N}_3^0 \rightarrow (Z\widetilde{N}_1^0)(h\widetilde{N}_1^0)\rightarrow b…
One Higgs was found. Are there more? In this work we discuss simple extension of the scalar sector of the Standard Model (SM) used as benchmark models by ATLAS and CMS in the searches for new scalars at the LHC. We discuss how much the discovered 125 GeV Higgs at the LHC resembles the SM Higgs and how will our understanding of the Higgs nature improve at future electron-positron colliders. Models with extended Higgs sectors provide very interesting scenarios, from the existence of charged Higgs bosons to CP-violating scalars that can be probed by the experimental collaborations at the LHC. Com…
We investigate the potential of single Higgs boson production at the LHC and at egamma mode of future linear electron-positron collider to probe non-standard HZgamma and Hgammagamma couplings. We consider the semi-elastic production process pp-> p gamma p-> pHqX at the LHC where q represents the quarks and X represents the remnants of one of the initial protons. We also study the single Higgs production through gamma e-> He in the egamma collision at the future linear collider. We perform a model-independent analysis and obtain the sensitivity bounds on the non-standard Higgs couplings for bot…
In this work, we analyse and demonstrate possible strategies to explore extended Higgs sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). In particular we concentrate on heavy Higgs decays to electroweakinos. We analyse the Higgs to electroweakino decays in the allowed MSSM parameter space after taking into account 13 TeV LHC searches for supersymmetric particles and phenomenological constraints such as flavour physics, Higgs measurements and dark matter constraints. We explore some novel aspects of these Higgs decays. The final states resulting from Higgs to electroweakino decays wil…
We analyze the Two-Higgs-Doublet Models (2HDMs) of Type I and II for consistency with the latest measurements of the ~125.5 GeV Higgs-like signal at the LHC. To this end, we perform scans of the 2HDM parameter space taking into account all relevant pre-LHC constraints as well as the most recent limits coming from searches for heavy Higgs-like states at the LHC. The current status of the 2HDMs of Type I and II is discussed assuming that the observed 125.5 GeV state is one of the two CP-even Higgs bosons, either the lighter h or the heavier H. Implications for future experiments, including expec…
