Let $R$ be a ring and $σ$ an endomorphism of $R$. In this note, we study the transfert of the symmetry ($σ$-symmetry) and reversibility ($σ$-reversibility) from $R$ to its skew power series ring $R[[x;σ]]$. Moreover, we study on the relationship between the Baerness, quasi-Baerness and p.p.-property of a ring $R$ and these of the skew power series ring $R[[x;σ]]$ in case $R$ is right $σ$-reversible. As a consequence we obtain a generalization of \cite{hong/2000}.
The product of a complex skew-symmetric matrix and its conjugate transpose is a positive semi-definite Hermitian matrix with nonnegative eigenvalues, with a property that each distinct positive eigenvalue has even multiplicity. This property plays a key role for Professor Loo-Keng Hua to establish the unitary equivalence theorem for complex skew-symmetric matrices. We show that this property is no longer true for quaternion skew-symmetric matrices. This poses a difficulty for finding the canonical form of a quaternion skew-symmetric matrix under unitary equivalence, which may be crucial for th…
Different approaches to construct linear codes using skew polynomials can be unified by using the nonassociative algebras built from skew-polynomial rings by Petit.
Let $R$ be a ring and $σ$ an endomorphism of $R$. In this note, we study skew polynomial rings and skew power series rings over idempotent reflexive rings and abelian rings. Also, we introduce the concept of right (resp., left) $σ$-idempotent reflexive rings which generalizes right (resp., left) idempotent reflexive rings and $σ$-abelian rings. Certain results are obtained as corollaries from our results.
As originally defined by Ashraf and Mozumder, multiplicative (generalized)-skew derivations must satisfy two identities. In this short note we show that, as a consequence of the simultaneous satisfaction of both identities, a multiplicative (generalized)-skew derivation of a prime ring is either a multiplicative (generalized) derivation (i.e., not skew), or a generalized skew derivation (i.e., additive). Therefore only one of the identities should be taken in the definition of multiplicative (generalized)-skew derivations in order to get a new class of derivations in prime rings.
We provide a formula for commputing the discriminant of skew Calabi-Yau algebra over a central Calabi-Yau algebra. This method is applied to study the Jacobian and discriminant for reflection Hopf algebras.
For a ring $R$ with an automorphism $σ$, an $n$-additive mapping $Δ:R\times R\times... \times R \rightarrow R$ is called a skew $n$-derivation with respect to $σ$ if it is always a $σ$-derivation of $R$ for each argument. Namely, it is always a $σ$-derivation of $R$ for the argument being left once $n-1$ arguments are fixed by $n-1$ elements in $R$. In this short note, starting from Brešar Theorems, we prove that a skew $n$-derivation ($n\geq 3$) on a semiprime ring $R$ must map into the center of $R$.
Let $\mathbb{F}_q$ be a finite field with $q$ elements and denote by $θ: \mathbb{F}_q\to\mathbb{F}_q$ an automorphism of $\mathbb{F}_q$. In this paper, we deal with skew constacyclic codes, that is, linear codes of $\mathbb{F}_q^n$ which are invariant under the action of a semi-linear map $Φ_{α,θ}:\mathbb{F}_q^n\to\mathbb{F}_q^n$, defined by $Φ_{α,θ}(a_0,...,a_{n-2}, a_{n-1}):=(αθ(a_{n-1}),θ(a_0),...,θ(a_{n-2}))$ for some $α\in\mathbb{F}_q\setminus\{0\}$ and $n\geq 2$. In particular, we study some algebraic and geometric properties of their dual codes and we give some consequences and research…
We show that a lattice-ordered field (not necessarily commutative) is totally ordered if and only if each square is positive, answering a generalized question of Conrad and Dauns (Pacific J. Math. 30 (1969), 385--398) in the affirmative. As a consequence, any lattice-ordered skew field in (Brumfiel, Partially ordered rings and semi-algebraic geometry. Cambridge University Press, 1979) is totally ordered. Furthermore, we note that every lattice order determined by a {\it pre-positive cone} $P$ on a skew-filed $F$ is linearly ordered since $F^2\subseteq P$ (see P restel, Lectures on formally rea…
In this note we show that a mutation theory of species with potential can be defined so that a certain class of skew-symmetrizable integer matrices have a species realization admitting a non-degenerate potential. This gives a partial affirmative answer to a question raised by Jan Geuenich and Daniel Labardini-Fragoso. We also provide an example of a class of skew-symmetrizable $4 \times 4$ integer matrices, which are not globally unfoldable nor strongly primitive, and that have a species realization admitting a non-degenerate potential.
In this note we consider the links of prime ideals of certain skew polynomial rings and prove our main theorem, namely theorem [5], which states the following.Let R be a noetherian ring that is link k-symmetric and let σ be an automorphism of R.Let S(R) denote the skew polynomial ring R[x,σ]. Let B be a prime ideal of S(R) that is extended from R. Then, for a prime ideal D of S(R),there is a link D\rightarrowB in the ring S(R) implies that D is an extended prime ideal of S(R).
In this note we will show that the dilation result obtained for fractional skew monoid rings, in the case of a cancellative left Ore monoid $S$ acting on a unital ring $A$ by corner isomorphisms, holds in full generality. We apply this result to the context of semigroup $C^*$-crossed products.
In this note we prove some structural properties of all the A1-homotopy invariants of corner skew Laurent polynomial algebras. As an application, we compute de mod-l algebraic K-theory of Leavitt path algebras using solely the kernel/cokernel of the incidence matrix. This leads naturally to some vanishing and divisibility properties of the algebraic K-theory of these algebras.
In this note, we prove that the invariant subalgebra of the (-1)-skew polynomial algebra under a permutation action is a graded isolated singularity, and thus a conjecture of Chan-Young-Zhang is true.
A Wedderburn polynomial over a division ring K is a minimal polynomial of an algebraic subset of K. Special cases of such polynomials include, for instance, the minimal polynomials (over the center F=Z(K)) of elements of K that are algebraic over F. In this note, we give a survey on some of our ongoing work on the structure theory of Wedderburn polynomials. Throughout the note, we work in the general setting of an Ore skew polynomial ring K[t,S,D].
Let $\Bbbk$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and let $Γ$ be an additive subgroup of $\Bbbk$. Results of Kaplansky-Santharoubane and Su classify intermediate series representations of the generalised Witt algebra $W_Γ$ in terms of three families, one parameterised by ${\mathbb A}^2$ and two by ${\mathbb P}^1$. In this note, we use the first family to construct a homomorphism $Φ$ from the enveloping algebra $U(W_Γ)$ to a skew extension of ${\Bbbk}[a,b]$. We show that the image of $Φ$ is contained in a (double) idealizer subring of this skew extension and that the represen…
Given a finite group G acting as automorphisms on a ring A, the skew group ring A*G is an important tool for studying the structure of G-stable ideals of A. The ring A*G is G-graded, i.e.G coacts on A*G. The Cohen-Montgomery duality says that the smash product A*G#k[G]^* of A*G with the dual group ring k[G]^* is isomorphic to the full matrix ring M_n(A) over A, where n is the order of G. In this note we show how much of the Cohen-Montgomery duality carries over to partial group actions in the sense of R.Exel. In particular we show that the smash product (A*_αG)#k[G]^* of the partial skew group…
