Let $R$ be a ring and $σ$ an endomorphism of $R$. In this note, we study skew polynomial rings and skew power series rings over idempotent reflexive rings and abelian rings. Also, we introduce the concept of right (resp., left) $σ$-idempotent reflexive rings which generalizes right (resp., left) idempotent reflexive rings and $σ$-abelian rings. Certain results are obtained as corollaries from our results.
Skew idempotent functionals of ordered semirings are studied. Different associative and non-associative semirings are considered. Theorems about properties of skew idempotent functionals are proved. Examples are given.
In this paper, we study the reflexive-nilpotents-property (briefly, RNP) for Ore extensions of injective type, and more generally, skew PBW extensions. With this aim, we introduce the notions of $Σ$-skew CN rings and $Σ$-skew reflexive (RNP) rings, for $Σ$ a finite family of ring endomorphisms of a ring $R$. Under certain conditions of compatibility, we study the transfer of the $Σ$-skew RNP property from a ring of coefficients to an Ore extension or skew PBW extension over this ring. We also consider this property for localizations of these noncommutative rings. Our results extend those corre…
Let $X$ be a finite partially ordered set, $R$ an associative unital ring and $σ$ an endomorphism of $R$. We describe some properties of the skew incidence ring $I(X,R,σ)$ such as invertible elements, idempotents, the Jacobson radical and the center. Moreover, if the skew incidence rings $I(X,R,σ)$ and $I(Y,S,τ)$ are isomorphic and the only idempotents of $R,S$ are the trivial ones, we show that the partially ordered sets $X$ and $Y$ are isomorphic.
We investigate and characterize several kinds of elements such as units, idempotents, von Neumann regular, $π$-regular and clean elements for skew PBW extensions over weak compatible rings. We also study the notions of Gelfand and Harmonic rings for these families of algebras. The results presented here extend those corresponding in the literature for commutative and noncommutative rings of polynomial type.
We obtain criteria for when a ring with enough idempotents is left/right artinian or noetherian in terms of local criteria defined by the associated complete set of idempotents for the ring. We apply these criteria to object unital category graded rings in general and, in particular, to the class of skew category algebras. Thereby, we generalize results by Nastasescu-van Oystaeyen, Bell, Park and Zelmanov from the group graded case to groupoid, and in some cases category, gradings.
In this paper we compute the $Tor$ and $Ext$ modules over skew $PBW$ extensions. If $A$ is a bijective skew $PBW$ extension of a ring $R$, we give presentations of $Tor_r^{A}(M,N)$, where $M$ is a finitely generated centralizing subbimodule of $A^m$, $m\geq 1$, and $N$ is a left $A$-submodule of $A^l$, $l\geq 1$. In the case of $Ext_A^{r}(M,N)$, $M$ is a left $A$-submodule of $A^m$ and $N$ is a finitely generated centralizing subbimodule of $A^l$. As application of these computations, we test stably-freeness, reflexiveness, and we will compute also the torsion, the dual and the grade of a give…
A ring $R$ is said to be i-reversible if for every $a,b$ $\in$ $R$, $ab$ is a non-zero idempotent implies $ba$ is an idempotent. It is known that the rings $M_n(R)$ and $T_n(R)$ (the ring of all upper triangular matrices over $R$) are not i-reversible for $n \geq 3$. In this article, we provide a non-trivial i-reversible subring of $M_n(R)$ when $n \geq 3$ and $R$ has only trivial idempotents. We further provide a maximal i-reversible subring of $T_n(R)$ for each $n\geq 3$, if $R$ is a field. We then give conditions for i-reversibility of Trivial, Dorroh and Nagata extensions. Finally, we give…
We consider the algorithmic problem of computing a primitive idempotent of a central simple algebra over the field of rational functions over a finite field. The algebra is given by a set of structure constants. The problem is reduced to the computation of a division algebra Brauer equivalent to the central simple algebra. This division algebra is constructed as a cyclic algebra, once the Hasse invariants have been computed. We give an application to skew constacyclic convolutional codes.
In this paper, we introduce the concept of $Σ$-semicommutative ring, for $Σ$ a finite family of endomorphisms of a ring $R$. We relate this class of rings with other classes of rings such that Abelian, reduced, $Σ$-rigid, nil-reversible and rings satisfying the $Σ$-skew reflexive nilpotent property. Also, we study some ring-theoretical properties of skew PBW extensions over $Σ$-semicommutative rings. We prove that if a ring $R$ is $Σ$-semicommutative with certain conditions of compatibility on derivations, then for every skew PBW extension $A$ over $R$, $R$ is Baer if and only if $R$ is quasi-…
Given an action $φ$ of of inverse semigroup $S$ on a ring $A$ (with domain of $φ(s)$ denoted by $D_{s^*}$) we show that if the ideals $D_e$, with $e$ an idempotent, are unital, then the skew inverse semigroup ring $A\rtimes S$ can be realized as the convolution algebra of an ample groupoid with coefficients in a sheaf of rings. Conversely, we show that the convolution algebra of an ample groupoid with coefficients in a sheaf of rings is isomorphic to a skew inverse semigroup ring of this sort. We recover known results in the literature for Steinberg algebras over a field as special cases.
Canonical orders, introduced in the minimal model program for orders, are simultaneous generalisations of Kleinian singularities and their associated skew group rings. In this paper, we construct minimal resolutions of canonical orders via non-commutative cyclic covers and skew group rings. This allows us to exhibit a derived equivalence between minimal resolutions of canonical orders and the skew group ring form of the canonical order in all but one case. The Fourier-Mukai transform used to construct this equivalence allows us to make explicit, the numerical version of the McKay correspondenc…
In the present paper, we study skew cyclic codes over the ring $F_{q}+vF_{q}+v^2F_{q}$, where $v^3=v,~q=p^m$ and $p$ is an odd prime. We investigate the structural properties of skew cyclic codes over $F_{q}+vF_{q}+v^2F_{q}$ using decomposition method. By defining a Gray map from $F_{q}+vF_{q}+v^2F_{q}$ to $F_{q}^3$, it has been proved that the Gray image of a skew cyclic code of length $n$ over $F_{q}+vF_{q}+v^2F_{q}$ is a skew $3$-quasi cyclic code of length $3n$ over $F_{q}$. Further, it is shown that the skew cyclic codes over $F_{q}+vF_{q}+v^2F_{q}$ are principally generated. Finally, the…
Every (left) linear function on a subspace of a finite-dimensional vector space over a (skew) field can be extended to a (left) linear function on the whole space. This paper explores the extent to what this basic fact of linear algebra is applicable to more general structures. Semifields with a similar property imposed on linear functions are called (left) exact, and we present a complete description of such semifields. Namely, we show that a semifield $S$ is left exact if and only if $S$ is either a skew field or an idempotent semiring. In particular, our result is new even for the tropical …
Given a finite group G acting as automorphisms on a ring A, the skew group ring A*G is an important tool for studying the structure of G-stable ideals of A. The ring A*G is G-graded, i.e.G coacts on A*G. The Cohen-Montgomery duality says that the smash product A*G#k[G]^* of A*G with the dual group ring k[G]^* is isomorphic to the full matrix ring M_n(A) over A, where n is the order of G. In this note we show how much of the Cohen-Montgomery duality carries over to partial group actions in the sense of R.Exel. In particular we show that the smash product (A*_αG)#k[G]^* of the partial skew group…
Let $r:X^{2}\rightarrow X^{2}$ be a set-theoretic solution of the Yang-Baxter equation on a finite set $X$. It was proven by Gateva-Ivanova and Van den Bergh that if $r$ is non-degenerate and involutive then the algebra $K\langle x \in X \mid xy =uv \mbox{ if } r(x,y)=(u,v)\rangle$ shares many properties with commutative polynomial algebras in finitely many variables; in particular this algebra is Noetherian, satisfies a polynomial identity and has Gelfand-Kirillov dimension a positive integer. Lebed and Vendramin recently extended this result to arbitrary non-degenerate bijective solutions. S…
