This is a survey on finite-dimensional integrable dynamical systems related to Hamiltonian $G$-actions. Within a framework of noncommutative integrability we study integrability of $G$-invariant systems, collective motions and reduced integrability. We also consider reductions of the Hamiltonian flows restricted to their invariant submanifolds generalizing classical Hess--Appel'rot case of a heavy rigid body motion.

Noether symmetries and integrability in time-dependent Hamiltonian mechanics

We consider Noether symmetries within Hamiltonian setting as transformations that preserve Poincaré-Cartan form, i.e., as symmetries of characteristic line bundles of nondegenerate 1-forms. In the case when the Poincaré-Cartan form is contact, the explicit expression for the symmetries in the inverse Noether theorem is given. As examples, we consider natural mechanical systems, in particular the Kepler problem. Finally, we prove a variant of the theorem on complete (non-commutative) integrability in terms of Noether symmetries of time-dependent Hamiltonian systems.

On integrability of infinitesimal actions

We use foliations and connections on principal Lie groupoid bundles to prove various integrability results for Lie algebroids. In particular, we show, under quite general assumptions, that the semi-direct product associated to an infinitesimal action of one integrable Lie algebroid on another is integrable. This generalizes recent results of Dazord and Nistor.

Non-integrability vs. integrability in pentagram maps

We revisit recent results on integrable cases for higher-dimensional generalizations of the 2D pentagram map: short-diagonal, dented, deep-dented, and corrugated versions, and define a universal class of pentagram maps, which are proved to possess projective duality. We show that in many cases the pentagram map cannot be included into integrable flows as a time-one map, and discuss how the corresponding notion of discrete integrability can be extended to include jumps between invariant tori. Nearly circular domains which are integrable close to the boundary are ellipses

The Birkhoff conjecture says that the boundary of a strictly convex integrable billiard table is necessarily an ellipse. In this article, we consider a stronger notion of integrability, namely integrability close to the boundary, and prove a local version of this conjecture: a small perturbation of an ellipse of small eccentricity which preserves integrability near the boundary, is itself an ellipse. Integrability and Reduction of Hamiltonian Actions on Dirac Manifolds

For a Hamiltonian, proper and free action of a Lie group $G$ on a Dirac manifold $(M,L)$, with a regular moment map $μ:M\to \mathfrak{g}^*$, the manifolds $M/G$, $μ^{-1}(0)$ and $μ^{-1}(0)/G$ all have natural induced Dirac structures. If $(M,L)$ is an integrable Dirac structure, we show that $M/G$ is always integrable, but $μ^{-1}(0)$ and $μ^{-1}(0)/G$ may fail to be integrable, and we describe the obstructions to their integrability.

Degenerate Integrability of Spin Calogero-Moser Systems and the duality with the spin Ruijsenaars systems

It is shown that spin Calogero-Moser systems are completely integrable in a sense of degenerate integrability. Their Liouville tori have dimension less then half of the dimension of the phase space. It is also shown that rational spin Ruijsenaars systems are degenerately integrable and dual to spin Calogero- Moser systems in a sense that action-algle variables of one are angle-action variables of the other.

The Maslov cocycle, smooth structures and real-analytic complete integrability

This paper studies smooth obstructions to integrability and proves two main results. First, it is shown that if a smooth topological n-torus admits a real-analytically completely integrable convex hamiltonian on its cotangent bundle, then the torus is diffeomorphic to the standard n-torus. This is the first known result where the smooth structure of a manifold obstructs complete integrability.
