It is know that PT-symmetric models have real spectra provided the symmetry is not spontaneously broken. Even pseudo-hermitian models have real spectra, which enlarge the the class of non-hermitian models possessing real spectra. We however consider non-hermitian models in higher dimensions which are not necessarily explicit PT-symmetric nor pseudo-hermitian. We show that the models may generate real spectra depending upon the coupling constants of the Hamiltonian. Our models thus further generalize the class of non-hermitian systems, which possess real spectra.

Winding in Non-Hermitian Systems

This paper extends the property of interlacing of the zeros of eigenfunctions in Hermitian systems to the topological property of winding number in non-Hermitian systems. Higher genus correlators for the hermitian matrix model with multiple cuts

An iterative scheme is set up for solving the loop equation of the hermitian one-matrix model with a multi-cut structure. Explicit results are presented for genus one for an arbitrary but finite number of cuts. Due to the complicated form of the boundary conditions, the loop correlators now contain elliptic integrals. This demonstrates the existence of new universality classes for the hermitian matrix model. The two-cut solution is investigated in more detail, including the double-scaling limit. It is shown, that in special cases it differs from the known continuum solution with one cut.

Non-Hermitian Dirac Hamiltonian in three dimensional gravity and pseudo-supersymmetry

Spectral singularities for Non-Hermitian one-dimensional Hamiltonians: puzzles with resolution of identity

We examine the completeness of bi-orthogonal sets of eigenfunctions for non-Hermitian Hamiltonians possessing a spectral singularity. The correct resolutions of identity are constructed for delta like and smooth potentials. Their form and the contribution of a spectral singularity depend on the class of functions employed for physical states. With this specification there is no obstruction to completeness originating from a spectral singularity.

Higher Derivative Supersymmetric Nonlinear Sigma Models on Hermitian Symmetric Spaces, and BPS States Therein

Removal of instabilities of the higher derivative theories in the light of antilinearity

Theories with higher derivatives involve linear instabilities in the Hamiltonian commonly known as Ostrogradski ghosts and can be viewed as a very serious problem during quantization. Exact 2-point function in Hermitian matrix model

J. Harer and D. Zagier have found a strikingly simple generating function for exact (all-genera) 1-point correlators in the Gaussian Hermitian matrix model. In this paper we generalize their result to 2-point correlators, using Toda integrability of the model. Remarkably, this exact 2-point correlation function turns out to be an elementary function - arctangent. Relation to the standard 2-point resolvents is pointed out. Dimensionally Reduced Gravity, Hermitian Symmetric Spaces and the Ashtekar Variables

Dimensional reductions of various higher dimensional (super)gravity theories lead to effectively two-dimensional field theories described by gravity coupled G/H nonlinear sigma-models.
