This paper is devoted to the study of the processes e^+e^- \to J/Ψη_c, J/Ψη_c', ψ' η_c, ψ' η_c' within light cone formalism. It is shown that if one disregards the contribution of higher fock states, the twist-3 distribution amplitudes needed in the calculation can be unambiguously determined from the twist-2 distribution amplitudes and equations of motion. Using models of the twist-2 distribution amplitudes the cross sections of the processes under study have been calculated. The results of the calculation are in agreement with Belle and BaBar experiments. It is also shown that relativistic and radiative corrections to the cross sections play crucial role in the achievement of the agreement between the theory and experiments. The comparison of the results of this paper with the results obtained in other papers has been carried out. In particular, it is shown that the results of papers where relativistic and radiative corrections were calculated within NRQCD are overestimated by a factor of ~1.5.
At existing and planned neutrino factories (high energy and high intensity neutrino beam facilities) precision studies of QCD in neutrino-nucleon interactions are a realistic opportunity. We investigate charmonium production in fixed target neutrino experiments. We find that $J/ψ$ production in neutrino-nucleon collision is dominated by the color octet $^3S_1$ NRQCD matrix element in a neutral current process, which is not accessible in photo or leptoproduction. Neutrino experiments at a future Muon Collider will acquire sufficient event rate to accurately measure color octet matrix element co…
In this paper the processes $e^+ e^- \to J/ΨJ/Ψ, J/Ψψ', ψ' ψ'$ are considered in the framework of light cone formalism. An important distinction of this approach in comparison to the approaches used in other papers is that relativistic and leading logarithmic radiative corrections to the cross section can be easily resummed within light cone formalism. In this paper the effect of this resummation is studied. It is shown that this effect is important especially for the production of higher charmonium mesons. The predicted cross sections are in agreement with the upper bounds set by Belle collab…
We study the production of $C=+$ charmonium states $X$ in $e^+e^-\to γ+ X$ at B factories with $X=η_c(nS)$ (n=1,2,3), $χ_{cJ}(mP)$ (m=1,2), and $^1D_2(1D)$. In the S and P wave case, contributions of tree-QED with one-loop QCD corrections are calculated within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD(NRQCD) and in the D-wave case only the tree-QED contribution are considered. We find that in most cases the QCD corrections are negative and moderate, in contrast to the case of double charmonium production $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+ X$, where QCD corrections are positive and large in most cases. We also find th…
In this paper the cross sections of the processes $e^+ e^- \to H+γ, H=η_c, η_c', χ_{c0}, χ_{c1}, χ_{c2}$ are calculated. The calculation is carried out at the leading twist approximation of light cone formalism. Within this approach the leading logarithmic radiative and relativistic corrections to the amplitudes are resumed. For the processes $e^+ e^- \to η_c, η_c'+γ$ one loop radiative corrections are taken into account. It is also shown that one loop leading logarithmic radiative corrections calculated within light cone formalism for the processes under study coincide with that obtained by d…
We review some recent progress in understanding various exclusive double charmonium production processes at $B$ factories, within the nonrelativistic QCD factorization framework. First we investigate the impact of the joint perturbative and relativistic correction on the process that has attracted a great amount of attention in the past decade, $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$. We then briefly discuss the phenomenological implication of the next-to-leading order perturbative correction to the processes $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+χ_{c0,1,2} (η_{c2})$. We further emphasize a novel theoretical challenge, which is recentl…
The recent progress in experiments at B-factories suggests an opportunity to search for missing charmonium states $η_{c}'(2^1S_0)$ and $h_c(1^1P_1)$. The feasibility of such a search in B-meson decays are discussed.
Charm and charmonium physics have gained renewed interest in the past decade. Recent spectroscopic observations strongly motivate these studies. Among the several possible reactions, measurements in proton-antiproton annihilation play an important role, complementary to the studies performed at B-factories. The fixed target PANDA experiment at FAIR (Darmstadt, Germany) will investigate fundamental questions of hadron and nuclear physics in the interactions of antiprotons with nucleons and nuclei. With reaction rates as large as 2*10^7 interactions/s, and a mass resolution 20 times better as co…
The next-to-leading order (NLO) quantum chromodynamics (QCD) corrections for $χ_{cJ}(^3P_J^{[1]},^3S_1^{[8]})$, the P-wave charmoniums inclusive production at $B$ factories are calculated utilizing the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization formalism. Large NLO corrections are found, especially for $^3P_0^{[1]}$ and $^3S_1^{[8]}$ configurations. Numerical evaluation indicates that the total cross sections of $χ_{cJ}$ inclusive production processes are at the order of $10$fb, which are accessible in BELLE II(super-B) experiment.
We extend our original study in Ref. [1] on the production of $C=+$ charmonium states $X=η_c(1S/2S)$ and $χ_{cJ}(1P/2P)$ in $e^+e^-\toγ~+~X$ at B factories to the BEPCII/BESIII energy region with $\sqrt{s}=4.0\mbox{-}5.0$ GeV. In the framework of nonrelativistic QCD factorization, the cross sections are estimated to be as large as $0.1\mbox{-}0.9$ pb. The results could be used to search for the missing $2P$ charmonium states or to estimate the continuum backgrounds in the resonance region.

The newly found states Y(4260), Y(4361), Y(4664) and Z$^\pm$(4430) stir broad interest in the study of spectroscopy in a typical charmonium scale. The Y(4260) which was observed earlier has been interpreted as hybrid, molecular state, and baryonium, etc. In this note we show for the first time that these new structures, which are hard to be interpreted as charmonium states, can be systematically embedded into an extended baryonium picture. According to this assignment, the so far known characters of these states are understandable. And, in the same framework, we make some predictions for exper…
Within the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization framework, we compute the long-awaited ${\mathcal O}(α_s^2)$ correction for the exclusive double charmonium production process at $B$ factories, {\it i.e.}, $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$ at $\sqrt{s}=10.58$ GeV. For the first time, we confirm that NRQCD factorization does hold at next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) for exclusive double charmonium production. It is found that including the NNLO QCD correction considerably reduces the renormalization scale dependence, and also implies the reasonable perturbative convergence behavior for this process. O…
We suggest searching for excited charmonium states in $e^+e^-$ annihilation via double charmonium production at $\sqrt{s}=10.6$ GeV with $B$ factories, based on a more complete leading order calculation including both QCD and QED contributions for various processes. In particular, for the C=+ states, the $χ_{c0}(nP)$ (n=2,3) and $η_c(mS)$ (m=3,4) may have appreciable potentials to be observed; while for the C=- states, the $η_ch_c$ production and especially the $χ_{c1}h_c$ production might provide opportunities for observing the $h_c$ with higher statistics in the future. A brief discussion fo…
Recent data on charmonium production in B-meson decays suggest that charmonium hybrid mesons with mass ~4 GeV may be produced in B-decay via c\bar{c} colour octet operators. Some of these states are likely to be narrow with clean signatures to J/ψpi^+ pi^- final states. Experimental signatures and search strategies for existing B-factories are described.
In this paper the production of excited vector and pseudoscalar charmonium mesons in $\epem$ annihilation is analyzed in the framework of light cone. In particular the cross sections $\epem \to ψ(2S)η_c(1S), ψ(1S)η_c(2S),ψ(2S)η_c(2S)$ have been calculated. It is shown, that contrary to NRQCD the cross sections calculated in the framework of light cone agree with experimental data.
We calculate the next-to-leading order (NLO) quantum chromodynamics (QCD) corrections to double charmonium production processes $e^+e^-\toγ^*\toη_c+h_c(1P)/ψ_{1,2}(1D)$ within the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization framework. We find that the corrections to $η_c+h_c(1P)$ production are positive, while those to $η_c+ψ_{1,2}(1D)$ are negative. Unlike the $J/ψ+ η_c$ case, all the corrections here are not large. Uncertainties in the renormalization scale, quark mass and running energy of center-of-mass are discussed, and the scale dependence of these processes is found to be greatly reduce…
The inclusive D-wave charmonium production rates in B decays are considered in the Bodwin-Braaten-Lepage (BBL) approach. We find that the color-octet subprocesses B->cc_(^3S_1^(8) or ^3P_J^(8))+s,d, followed by the transition cc_(^3S_1^(8) or ^3P_J^(8)) -> ^3D_J, strongly dominate over any other subprocess, due to the large Wilson coefficient for the ΔB = 1 effective lagrangian. Assuming that the numerical values of the matrix elements <0|O^{^3D_J}(^3S_1^(8))|0> and <0|O^{^3D_J}(^3P_J^(8))|0> are the same order of magnitudes with the <0| O^{ψ^'}(^3S_1^(8))|0>, we find that the ^{1,3}D_{2} can …
In this work we study the process $e^{+}+e^{-}\longrightarrow J/Ψ+η_{c} $ at energy $\sqrt{s}= 10.6 GeV$ observed recently at B-factories whose measurements were made by Babar and Belle groups. We calculate the cross section for this process in the Bethe-salpeter formalism under Covariant Instantaneous Anstaz (CIA). To simplify our calculation, the heavy quark approximation $(q<<M, P M)$ is employed in the quark and gluon propagators. In the exclusive process of $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation into two heavy quarkonia, the cross section calculated in this scenario is compatible with the experimental…
We calculate the exclusive cross sections for e^+ e^- annihilation into two charmonium states through a virtual photon. Purely electromagnetic contributions are surprisingly large, changing the cross sections by as much as 21%. The predicted cross section for J/psi + eta_c is about an order of magnitude smaller than a recent measurement by the BELLE Collaboration, although part of the discrepancy can be attributed to large relativistic corrections. The cross sections for S-wave + P-wave, P-wave + P-wave, and S-wave + D-wave charmonium states are also calculated. It may be possible to discover …
We make a comparative and comprehensive study on the charmonium exclusive productions at the $e^+e^-$ collider with the collision energy either round the $Z^0$-boson mass for a super $Z$ factory or equals to 10.6 GeV for the $B$ factories as Belle and BABAR. We study the total cross sections for the charmonium production via the exclusive processes $e^+e^- \to γ^*/Z^0 \to H_{1}+H_{2}$ and $e^+e^- \to γ^*/Z^0 \to H_{1} +γ$, where $H_{1}$ and $H_{2}$ represent the dominant color-singlet $S$-wave and $P$-wave charmonium states respectively. Total cross sections versus the $e^+e^-$ collision energ…
We investigate the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ correction to $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_{c2}$ in the NRQCD factorization approach. A detailed comparative study between $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_{c2}$ and $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+χ^\prime_{c1}$ at $B$ factory energy is also carried out. After incorporating the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ correction, we predict the cross section for the former process to be around 0.3 fb, while that of the latter about 6 times greater. The outgoing $J/ψ$ is found to be dominantly transversely-polarized in the former process, while longitudinally-polarized in the latter. These features may provide valuable guidance…
In recent years the B-factories and other machines have found evidence for a large number of new states with hidden charm: candidate h_c(1P), eta_c(2S), and chi_{c2}(2P) states; the well-established X(3872); enhancements called X(3940), Y(3940), and Y(4260); and a new structure at 4350 MeV. Various conventional-charmonium and more exotic interpretations of these data have been proposed. In this talk we review the current state of the experimental evidence and the prospects for clarifying the spectrum.
Within the framework of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics, we study the production of $C=+$ charmonium states $H$ in $e^+e^-\to γ~+~H$ at BESIII with $H=η_c(nS)$ (n=1, 2, 3, and 4), $χ_{cJ}(nP)$ (n=1, 2, and 3), and $^1D_2(nD)$ (n=1 and 2). The radiative and relativistic corrections are calculated to next-to-leading order for $S$ and $P$ wave states. We then argue that the search for $C=+$ $XYZ$ states such as $X(3872)$, $X(3940)$, $X(4160)$, and $X(4350)$ in $e^+e^-\to γ~+~H$ at BESIII may help clarify the nature of these states. BESIII can search $XYZ$ states through two body process $e…
Under the conventional scale setting, the renormalization scale uncertainty usually constitutes a systematic error for a fixed-order perturbative QCD estimation. The recently suggested principle of maximum conformality (PMC) provides a principle to eliminate such scale ambiguity in a step-by-step way. Using the PMC, all non-conformal terms in perturbative expansion series are summed into the running coupling, and one obtains a unique, scale-fixed, scheme-independent prediction at any finite order. In the paper, we make a detailed PMC analysis for both the polarized and the unpolarized cross se…
We calculate the contributions from QED processes involving two virtual photons to the cross sections for e^+ e^- annihilation into two charmonium states with the same C-parity. Generically, the cross sections are three orders of magnitude smaller than those for charmonia with opposite C-parity because they are suppressed by a factor of alpha^2/alpha_s^2. However, if both charmonia have quantum numbers J^{PC} = 1^{--}, then there is a contribution to the cross section that involves the fragmentation of each photon into a charmonium. The fragmentation contribution is enhanced by powers of E_{be…
We analytically calculate the cross sections of double charmonium production in $e^+ e^- \to J/ψ(ψ(2S))χ_{cJ}$ (J=0,1,2) at next-to-leading order (NLO) in $α_s$ in nonrelativistic QCD, and confirm factorization of these processes. In contrast to $χ_{c0}$ production, for which the NLO correction is large and positive, the NLO corrections for $χ_{c1,2}$ production can be negative, resulting in decreased $K$ factors of 0.91 and 0.78 for J=1 and 2 respectively when $μ= 2 m_{c}$. Consequently, the NLO QCD corrections markedly enlarge the difference between cross sections of $χ_{c0}$ and $χ_{c1,2}$.…
Belle Collaboration has recently observed a new state, the X(4160), in the process of double charm production $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+X(4160)$ followed by $X(4160)\to D^*\bar{D^*}$. We discuss possible interpretations for the X(4160) based on the NRQCD calculations and the potential model estimates for the charmonium spectrum. We first focus on the D-wave spin-singlet $2^{-+}$ charmonium $^1D_2(2D)$, which is estimated to have a small production rate of about 5% of that for $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c(1S)$, and therefore is incompatible with the observed data for X(4160). We then discuss the possibility that th…
The inclusive $J/ψ$ production in $e^+ e^- \to J/ψc\bar c$ at B factories is one of the most challenging open problems in heavy quarkonium physics. The observed cross section of this double charm production process is larger than existing leading order (LO) QCD predictions by a factor of 5. In the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization formalism, we calculate the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD virtual and real corrections to this process, and find that these corrections can substantially enhance the cross section with a $K$ factor of about 1.8. We further take into account the feeddown con…
This paper is devoted to the leading twist exclusive bottomonia decays with double charmonium in the final state. Using models of the twist-2 charmonia distribution amplitudes the widths of these decays are calculated within light cone formalism. In addition, the processes under consideration are studied within nonrelativistic QCD. In our analysis we have found that the production of some of the $P$-wave charmonia mesons with $L_z \neq 0$ is allowed already at the leading twist approximation. This means that the selection rules which predict the suppression of such decays are violated. The mec…
We evaluate the Psi' to J/Psi ratio in diffractive photoproduction in a light-cone framework, using charmonium wave functions extracted from non-relativistic potential models. Contrary to current belief, we find that the best estimate for the ratio is a factor 2 to 5 below the data. The measured ratio constrains the distribution of the charm quark-antiquark component of the charmonium light-cone wave function and indicates that it is more compact than in potential models. We predict that the inelastic photoproduction ratio will be bigger than the elastic one, and will equal that measured in ha…
We consider the production of the $η_c$ and $χ_{cJ}$ states recoiled with a photon up to $\mathcal{O}(α_s v^2)$ at BESIII and B-factories within the frame of NRQCD factorization. With the corrections, we revisit the numerical calculations to the cross sections for the $η_c(nS)$ and the $χ_{cJ}(mP)$ states. We argue that the search for $XYZ$ states with even charge conjugation such as $X(3872)$, $X(3940)$, $X(4160)$, and $X(4350)$ recoiled with a photon at BESIII may help clarify the nature of these states. For completeness, the production of charmonium with even charge conjugation recoiled wit…
This talk consists of two parts. We first present a light-cone QCD sum rule computation of the $B_s\to f_0(980)$ form factors which are necessary inputs in semileptonic and nonleptonic $B_s$ decays into $f_0(980)$. Then we analyze nonleptonic $B_s$ decays into a charmonium state and a light meson, which are potentially useful to access the $B_s$-${\bar B}_s$ mixing phase $β_s$. We explore the experimental feasibility of measuring these various channels, paying attention to different determinations of $β_s$ in view of the hints of new physics recently emerged in the $B_s$ sector.
In this article, we analyze the vertex $D^*D^*ρ$ with the light-cone QCD sum rules. The strong coupling constant $g_{D^*D^*ρ}$ is an important parameter in evaluating the charmonium absorption cross sections in searching for the quark-gluon plasmas. Our numerical value for the $g_{D^*D^*ρ}$ is consistent with the prediction of the effective SU(4) symmetry and vector meson dominance theory.
Elastic virtual photoproduction cross sections gamma^*p -> J/psi(psi')p and total charmonium-nucleon cross sections for J/psi, psi' and chi states are calculated in a parameter free way with the light-cone dipole formalism and the same input: factorization in impact parameters, light-cone wave functions for the gamma^* and the charmonia, and the universal phenomenological dipole cross section which is fitted to other data. The charmonium wave functions are calculated with four known realistic potentials, and two models for the dipole cross section are tested. Very good agreement with data for …
We calculate the form factor and cross section of the excited charmonium production process $e^{+}+e^{-}\rightarrow ψ\left ( 2S \right )+η_{c}$ by light-cone sum rules. In our method, the form factor depends on the distribution amplitude of $η_{c}$ meson. Experimentally, the energy scale of $e^{+}+e^{-}\rightarrow ψ\left ( 2S \right )+η_{c}$ process is much larger than the initial energy scale of $η_{c}$ meson in our BHL model. Therefore, we further consider the evolution of the distribution amplitude with the energy scale, and select the distribution amplitude as our input parameter when the …
In this paper we have analyzed the production of pair charmonium mesons in the reactions $e^+ e^- \to J/ Ψχ_{c0}, e^+ e^-\to Ψ(2S) χ_{c0}$ at energy $\sqrt s = 10.6$GeV in the framework of the light cone formalism. In comparison with NRQCD the numerical results for the cross sections are in better agreement with experiment.
B_c mesons are laboratories for probing heavy quark physics. Furthermore, they decay into charmonia and hence their decays can be used to analyze possible exotic charmonium. In this work, the semileptonic decays of B_c mesons into P wave charmonia are analysed using light cone QCD sum rules (LCSR). The distributions amplitudes for the charmonia are taken from a quark model computation. The obtained decay rates for the ground state and excited charmonia are compared with the results found in the literature.
The color dipole gBFKL phenomenology of a diffraction cone for photo- and electroproduction $γ^{*}N \to VN$ of heavy vector mesons (charmonium & bottonium) at HERA and in fixed target experiments is presented. A substantial shrinkage of the diffraction cone from the CERN/FNAL to the HERA range of c.m.s. energy $W$ is predicted. The $Q^{2}$-controlled selectivity to the color dipole size (scanning phenomenon) is shown to lead to a decrease of the diffraction slope with $Q^{2}$ (which is supported by the available experimental data). An approximate flavor independence of the diffraction slope in…
We use the vacuum expectation value of a Wegner-Wilson loop representing a fast moving quark-antiquark pair to derive the light cone Hamiltonian for a $q\bar q$ meson. We solve the corresponding Schrödinger equation for various trial wave functions. The result shows how confinement determines the meson mass and wave function for valence quarks on the light cone. We also parametrize the effect of the spin-dependent splitting for a light meson and charmonium. The correct chiral-symmetry breaking pattern for the pion mass is obtained due to the self-energy of the quark.
We predict the rate for exclusive double-charmonium production in electron-positron annihilation $e^+ e^- \to J/ψ+η_c$ using perturbative quantum chromodynamics and the NRQCD framework for hard, heavy-quarkonium exclusive processes. The cross sections measured at the $B$-factories Belle and Babar at $\sqrt{s}=10.6$ GeV disagree with the pQCD leading-order predictions by an order of magnitude. The predictions at next-to-leading order are, however, very sensitive to the choice of the renormalization scale, resulting in an apparent discrepancy between the theoretical prediction and the data. We s…
The ${q}\bar{q}$ spectrum is studied within a chiral constituent quark model. It provides with a good fit of the available experimental data from light (vector and pseudoscalar) to heavy mesons including some recent results on charmonium. The $0^{++}$ light mesons and the new $D$ states measured at different factories cannot be described as $q\bar q$ pairs and a tetraquark structure is suggested.
Within the nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics (NRQCD) factorization formalism, we compute the relativistic corrections to the exclusive decays of bottomonia with even charge conjugation parity into $S$-wave charmonium pairs at leading order in the strong coupling constant. Relativistic corrections are resummed for a class of color-singlet contributions to all orders in the charm-quark velocity $v_c$ in the charmonium rest frame. Almost every process that we consider in this work has negative relativistic corrections ranging from -20 to -35,%. Among the various processes, the relativistic c…
The presented paper is devoted to theoretical analysis of charmonium mesons $η_c$, $J/ψ$, $χ_{c0,1,2}$, and $h_c$ production in exclusive radiative $Z$ boson decays in the frameworks of Nonrelativistic Chromodynamic and amplitude expansion on the light-cone. In the framework of light-cone expansion amplitudes and widths of all processes are described with one universal relation. It is interesting to note that from this relation it follows automatically which component of $Z$ boson (either vector or axial) gives contribution to the width of the particular decay. It is shown that the effect of i…
In this paper we study the semileptonic decays of the $B_c$ meson in the Light-Cone Sum Rule (LCSR) approach. The result for each channel depends on the corresponding distribution amplitude of the final meson. For the case of $B_c$ decaying into a pseudoscalar meson, to twist-3 accuracy only the leading twist distribution amplitude (DA) is involved if we start from a chiral current. If we choose a suitable chiral current in the vector meson case, the main twist-3 contributions are also eliminated and we can consider the leading twist contribution only. The leading twist distribution amplitudes…
We show that the twist-2 light-cone wave-functions of eta_c and J/ψcan be factorized with nonrelativistic QCD(NRQCD) at one-loop level, where the nonperturbative effects are represented by NRQCD matrix elements. The factorization is achieved by expanding the small velocity v, which the c- or \bar c- quark moves inside a rest quarkonium with. At leading order of v the twist-2 light-cone wave-functions of eta_c and J/ψcan be factorized as the product of a perturbative function and a NRQCD matrix element. The perturbative function is calculated at one-loop level and free from any soft divergence.…
We study the weak productions of novel heavy mesons, such as $η_c^{\prime}$, $h_c$, $h_c^{\prime}$, $χ_{c0}^{\prime}$, X(3940), Y(3940), X(3872), and Y(4260), in the semi-leptonic $B_c$ decays. Since there is still no definite answer for the components of X(3940), Y(3940), X(3872), Y(4260) so far, we will assign them as excited charmonium states with the possible quantum numbers constrained by the current experiments. As for the weak transition form factors, we calculate them in the framework of light-cone QCD sum rules approach, which is proved to be a powerful tool to deal with the non-pertu…
In this paper, a study of light-cone distribution amplitudes for p-wave heavy quarkonium states are presented. Within the light-front framework, the leading twist light-cone distribution amplitudes, and their relevant decay constants, have some simple relations. These relations can be further simplified when the non-relativistic limit and the wave function as a function of relative momentum |\vecκ| are taken into consideration. In addition, the κ_\perp integrations in the equations of LCDAs and ξ-moments can be completed analytically when the Gaussian-type wave function is considered. After fi…
Nuclear suppression of charmonium production in proton-nucleus interactions is poorly understood, what restrains our attempts to single out unusual effects in heavy ion collisions. We develop a phenomenological approach, based on the light-cone dynamics of charmonium production, which has much in common with deep-inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan lepton pair production. The key observation is the existence of a soft mechanism of heavy flavour production, which scales in the quark mass and dominates shadowing corrections and diffraction. It naturally explains the surprisingly strong nuclear su…
We suggest the ratio of the $ψ''(3770)/ψ'(3686)$ production cross sections as an unambiguous probe of the dominance of hard, point-like physics in charmonium production. If hard physics dominates the charmonium production the ratio : ${σ(ψ'')\overσ(ψ')}\approx {Γ(ψ''\to l^+l^-)\over Γ(ψ'\to l^+l^-)} \approx 0.1$ is independent of the process. We argue that since the dominant $D\bar D$ decay mode of the $ψ''$-meson can be detected with a high efficiency at the current facilities the effective counting rate for the $ψ''$ production should be comparable to that of the $ψ'$ and hence it could be o…
We develop the color dipole gBFKL phenomenology of a diffraction cone for photo- and electroproduction $γ^{*}N \to VN$ of heavy vector mesons (charmonium & bottonium) at HERA and in fixed target experiments. We predict a substantial shrinkage of the diffraction cone from the CERN/FNAL to the HERA range of c.m.s. energy $W$. The $Q^{2}$-controlled selectivity to the color dipole size (scanning phenomenon) is shown to lead to a decrease of the diffraction slope with $Q^{2}$ (which is supported by the available experimental data). We predict an approximate flavor independence of the diffraction s…
In order to clarify the puzzling problems in double charm production, relativistic corrections at order $v^{2}$ to the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\to J/ψ+η_{c}$ and $e^{+}e^{-}\to J/ψ+c\bar{c}$ at B factories are studied in non-relativistic quantum chromodynamics. The short-distance parts of production cross sections are calculated perturbatively, while the long-distance matrix elements are estimated from $J/ψ$ and $η_c$ decays up to errors of order $v^4$. Our results show that the relativistic correction to the exclusive process $e^{+}e^{-}\to J/ψ+η_{c}$ is significant, which, when combined togethe…
Semileptonic $B$($B_s, B_c$) decays are investigated systematically in the light-cone QCD sum rules. Special emphasis is put on the LCSR calculation on weak form factors with an adequate chiral current correlator, which turns out to be particularly effective to control the pollution by higher twist components of spectator mesons. The result for each channel depends on the distribution amplitude of the the producing meson. The leading twist distribution amplitudes of the related heavy mesons and charmonium are worked out by a model approach in the reasonable way. A practical scenario is suggest…
We make a detailed study on the typical production channel of double charmoniums, $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$, at the center-of-mass collision energy $\sqrt{s}=10.58$ GeV. The key component of the process is the form factor $F_{\rm VP}(q^2)$, which has been calculated within the QCD light-cone sum rules (LCSR). To improve the accuracy of the derived LCSR, we keep the $J/ψ$ light-cone distribution amplitude up to twist-4 accuracy. Total cross sections for $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$ at three typical factorization scales are $σ|_{μ_s} = 22.53^{+3.46}_{-3.49}~{\rm fb}$, $σ|_{μ_k} = 21.98^{+3.35}_{-3.38}~{\rm fb}…

Using a sample of 158 million $Υ(2S)$ events collected with the Belle detector, we search for the first time for double charmonium decays of the $P$-wave spin-triplet bottomonium states ($Υ(2S) \to γχ_{bJ}$, $χ_{bJ} \to \jpsi \jpsi$, $\jpsi \psp$, $\psp \psp$ for J=0, 1, and 2). No significant $χ_{bJ}$ signal is observed in the double charmonium mass spectra, and we obtain the following upper limits, $\BR(χ_{bJ} \to \jpsi \jpsi)<7.1\times 10^{-5}$, $2.7\times 10^{-5}$, $4.5\times 10^{-5}$, $\BR(χ_{bJ} \to \jpsi \psp)<1.2\times 10^{-4}$, $1.7\times 10^{-5}$, $4.9\times 10^{-5}$, $\BR(χ_{bJ} \to…
It has been suggested in Ref. [A. E. Bondar and V. L. Chernyak, Phys. Lett. B 612, 215 (2005)] that the disagreement between theoretical calculations and experimental observations for the rate for the process e+ e- -> J/psi + eta_c at the B factories might be resolved by using the light-cone method to take into account the relative momentum of the heavy-quark and antiquark in the quarkonia. The light-cone result for the production cross section in Ref. [A. E. Bondar and V. L. Chernyak, Phys. Lett. B 612, 215 (2005)] is almost an order of magnitude larger than existing NRQCD factorization resul…
