A class of extra dimensional models with a warped metric predict tunneling of a massive particle localized on our brane and escaping into additional dimensions. The experimental signature of this effect is the disappearance of the particle from our world, i.e. the particle $\to invisible$ decay. We point out that measurements of $Z\prime \to invisible$ decay width of a new heavy gauge boson $Z\prime$ at the CERN LHC can be effectively used to probe the existence of large extra dimensions. This result enhances motivations for a more sensitive search and study for this decay mode and suggests additional direction for testing extra dimensions in collider experiments.
In this paper, we study the observability of an invisible Higgs boson at Fermilab Tevatron and CERN LHC through the production channel $ q \bar{q} \to Z H \to \ell^+\ell^-+ \ptmiss $, where $\ptmiss$ is reconstructed from the $\ell^+\ell^-$ with $\ell=e$ or $μ$. A new strategy is proposed to eliminate the largest irreducible background, namely $ q \bar{q} \to Z(\to \ell^+\ell^-) Z(\to ν\barν)$. This strategy utilizes the precise measurements of $ q \bar{q} \to Z(\to \ell^+\ell^-) Z(\to \ell^+\ell^-)$. For $m_H=120$ GeV and with luminosity $30 fb^{-1}$ at Tevatron, a $5σ$ observation of the inv…
We further develop the constrained mass variable techniques to determine the mass scale of invisible particles pair-produced at hadron colliders. We introduce the constrained mass variable M_3C which provides an event-by-event lower bound and upper bound to the mass scale given the two mass differences between the lightest three new particle states. This variable is most appropriate for short symmetric cascade decays involving two-body decays and on-shell intermediate states which end in standard-model particles and two dark-matter particles. An important feature of the constrained mass variab…
The dark photon ($A'$) production through the mixing with the bremsstrahlung photon from the electron scattering off nuclei can be accompanied by the dominant invisible $A'$ decay into dark-sector particles. In this work we discuss the missing energy signature of this process in the experiment NA64 aiming at the search for $A'\to invisible$ decays with a high-energy electron beam at the CERN SPS. We show the distinctive distributions of variables that can be used to distinguish the $A'\to invisible$ signal from background. The results of the detailed simulation of the detector response for the…
We report on a direct search for sub-GeV dark photons (A') which might be produced in the reaction e^- Z \to e^- Z A' via kinetic mixing with photons by 100 GeV electrons incident on an active target in the NA64 experiment at the CERN SPS. The A's would decay invisibly into dark matter particles resulting in events with large missing energy. No evidence for such decays was found with 2.75\cdot 10^{9} electrons on target. We set new limits on the γ-A' mixing strength and exclude the invisible A' with a mass < 100 MeV as an explanation of the muon g_μ-2 anomaly.
The invisible signals of right-handed sneutrino decays originating from a Z' are analysed at the Large Hadron Collider. The possibility of accessing these events helps disentangling the B-L extension of Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model from more popular scenarios of Supersymmetry. We assess the scope of the CERN machine in establishing the aforementioned signatures when accompanied by mono-jet, single-photon or Z-radiation probes through sophisticated signal-to-background simulations carried out in presence of parton shower, hadronisation as well as detector effects. We find substantial s…
Given its weak coupling to bottom quarks and tau leptons, the Higgs boson may predominantly decay into invisible particles like gravitinos, neutralinos, or gravitons. We consider the manifestation of such an invisibly decaying Higgs boson in weak boson fusion at the CERN LHC. Distinctive kinematic distributions of the two quark jets of the signal as compared to Zjj and Wjj backgrounds allow to restrict the Higgs branching ratio to 'invisible' final states to some 13% with 10fb^{-1} of data, provided events with two energetic forward jets of high dijet invariant mass and with substantial missin…
In large extra dimension models the presence of an interaction between the Ricci scalar curvature and the Higgs doublet of the Standard Model can give rise to an invisible decay of the Higgs to Kaluza Klein graviscalars. The corresponding invisible width can cause a suppression of the LHC rates of a light Higgs in the visible channels below 5 sigma in some regions of the parameter space of the model. However in such regions the Higgs can be discovered through its invisible decay. The combination of the measurements done at the LHC and the LC can determine to some accuracy the parameters of the…
In models of Randall-Sundrum type orthopositronium (o-Ps) can disappear due to tunnelling into additional dimension(s). The experimental signature of this effect is the invisible decay of orthopositronium. We point out that this process may occur at a rate within two or three orders of magnitude of the present experimental upper limit. We discuss this in details and stress that the existence of invisible decay of orthopositronium in vacuum could explain the o-Ps decay rate puzzle. Thus, our result enhances the existing motivation and justifies efforts for a more sensitive search for o-Ps->invi…
We point out that some models with infinite additional dimension(s) of Randall-Sundrum type predict the disappearance of orthopositronium (o-Ps) into additional dimension(s). The experimental signature of this effect is the o-Ps -> invisible decay of orthopositronium which may occur at a rate within three orders of magnitude of the present experimental upper limit. This result enhances existing motivations for a more sensitive search for this decay mode and suggests additional directions for testing extra dimensions in non accelerator experiments.
In the standard model the rate of the $π^0, η, η', K_S, K_L\to ν\overlineν$ decays is predicted to be extremely small. Therefore, observation of any of these mesons ($M^0$) decaying into an invisible final state would signal the presence of new physics. The Bell-Steinberger relation connects CP and CPT violation in the mass matrix to CP and CPT violation in all decay channels of neutral kaons. It is a powerful tool for testing CPT invariance in the $K^0-\overline{K}^0$ system, assuming that there are no significant undiscovered decay modes of either $K_S$ or $K_L$ which could contribute to the…
We discuss the possibility of detecting a Higgs boson in electron-positron collider experiments if large extra dimensions are realized in nature. In such a case, the Higgs boson can decay invisibly by oscillating into a graviscalar Kaluza-Klein (KK) tower. We show that the search for such a Higgs at an $e^+ e^-$ linear collider entails more complications than are usually thought of in relation to an invisibly decaying Higgs.
In the large extra dimension model of Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos and Dvali the presence of an interaction between the Ricci scalar curvature and the Higgs doublet of the Standard Model makes a light Higgs boson observable at LHC at the 5 sigma level through the fusion process pp-> W*W* +X -> Higgs, graviscalars +X -> invisible+X for the portion of the Higgs-graviscalar mixing (xi) and effective Planck mass (M_D) parameter space where channels relying on visible Higgs decays fail to achieve a 5 sigma signal. However even if the LHC has a good chance of seeing a signal, it will not be able to dete…
We consider the possibility that the heavier CP-even Higgs boson~($H^0$) in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) decays invisibly into neutralinos in the light of the recent discovery of the 126 GeV resonance at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). For this purpose we consider the minimal supersymmetric standard model with universal, non-universal and arbitrary boundary conditions on the supersymmetry breaking gaugino mass parameters at the grand unified scale. Typically, scenarios with universal and nonuniversal gaugino masses do not allow invisible decays of the lightest Higgs b…
The discovery of a 126 GeV Higgs like scalar at the LHC along with the non observation of the supersymmetric particles, has in turn lead to constraining various supersymmetric models through the Higgs data. We here consider the case of both MSSM, as well its extension containing an additional chiral singlet superfield, NMSSM. We concentrate on the case where we identify the second lightest Higgs boson as the 126 GeV state discovered at the CERN LHC and consider the invisible decays of the low mass Higgs bosons in both MSSM and NMSSM. We find that in case of the MSSM with universal boundary con…
We discuss the potential of the photon-induced two lepton final states at the LHC to explore the phenomenology of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) tower of gravitons in the scenarios of the Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos and Dvali(ADD) model and Randall-Sundrum (RS) model. The sensitivity to model parameters can be improved compared to the present LEP or Tevatron sensitivity.
The process e+e- --> mu+ mu- + missing E_T, where the missing energy is due to the production of a tower of invisible graviton states in a model with large extra dimensions, is considered. We focus on the scenario when this process is used to detect a heavy dileptonic resonance in the electroweak sector of the model, taking as example some models with an extra Z' boson. It turns out that at a 500 GeV machine with 1000 inverse fb of luminosity, it may be possible to use this process to such detect resonances if there are two large extra dimensions and the string scale is not too far above a TeV…
We consider supersymmetric models in which the lightest Higgs scalar can decay invisibly consistent with the constraints on the $126$~GeV state discovered at the CERN LHC. We consider the invisible decay in the minimal supersymmetric standard model~(MSSM), as well its extension containing an additional chiral singlet superfield, the so-called next-to-minimal or nonminimal supersymmetric standard model~(NMSSM).We consider the case of MSSM with both universal as well as nonuniversal gaugino masses at the grand unified scale, and find that only an $E_6$ grand unified model with unnaturally large …
Potential of the LHC to explore the phenomenology of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) tower of gravitons in the scenarios of the Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos and Dvali(ADD) model and Randall-Sundrum (RS) model is discussed via the process ${γγ\to γγ}$ including the Standard Model one loop diagram. The improved constraints on model parameters have been obtained compared to the LEP and Tevatron sensitivity.
In light of current atmospheric neutrino oscillation data, we revisit the invisible decay of the standard model Higgs boson and other pseudoscalar mesons which can be enhanced because of large number of KK modes in models with right handed singlet neutrinos in large extra dimensions. We find that the invisible decay rate of Higgs can be as large as $H\to b \bar b $ decay rate only for a very restricted region of parameter space. This parameter space is even further restricted if one demands that the dimensionless neutrino Yukawa coupling $ł$ is O(1). We have also studied the scenarios where si…
We study the Z boson pair production mediated by the Kaluza-Klein (KK) graviton in large extra dimensions (LED) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We use the partial wave unitarity to discuss the constraints on the process energy scale in order to give a self-consistent calculation. We find that the LED contributions can enhance the Z boson pair production cross sections significantly when the fundamental scale $M_S$ of the large extra dimensions is up to several TeV. We also show that the kinematic distributions of the LED signals are greatly different from the standard model ones and t…
We discuss the possibility of detecting a Higgs boson in future collider experiments if large extra dimensions are realized in nature. In such a case, the Higgs boson can decay invisibly by oscillating into a graviscalar Kaluza-Klein (KK) tower. We show that the search for such a Higgs at an $e^+ e^-$ linear collider entails more complications than are usually thought of in relation to an invisibly decaying Higgs, the main sources of such complications being the simultaneous presence of a continuum graviton production and the broadening of the Higgs peak. We discuss possible ways of overcoming…
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a proposed TeV-scale high-luminosity electron-positron collider at CERN. The first CLIC running stage, at 380\,GeV, will focus on precision Higgs boson and top quark studies while the main aim of the subsequent high-energy stages, at 1.5 TeV and 3 TeV, is to extend the sensitivity of CLIC to different Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) scenarios. We studied the prospects for measuring invisible Higgs boson and additional heavy scalar decays using CLIC data at 380 GeV and 1.5 TeV. The analysis is based on the WHIZARD event generator, with fast simulation of th…
Models based on Universal Extra Dimensions predict Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of all Standard Model (SM) particles. We examine the pair production of KK excitations of top- and bottom-quarks at the Large Hadron Collider. Once produced, the KK top/bottom quarks can decay to $b$-quarks, leptons and the lightest KK-particle, $γ_1$, resulting in 2 $b$-jets, two opposite sign leptons and missing transverse momentum, thereby mimicing top-pair production. We show that, with a proper choice of kinematic cuts, an integrated luminosity of 100 fb$^{-1}$ would allow a discovery for an inverse radius up…
CERN LHC provides a good experimental platform to perturbatively probe the fundamental gravity scale up to several TeV, with the precise value depending on the number of extra dimensions. The leading experimental signal of graviton at LHC is from the process $pp\to jet+{E\slash}_T$, where ${E\slash}_T$ stands for the transverse missing energy. A detailed discussion on the hadronic production of real graviton through hard subprocesses: $q\bar{q}\to G+g$, $g+q\to G+q$ and $g+g\to G+g$ have been studied within the quantum gravity theory with large extra dimensions. The main theoretical uncertaint…
We analyze the potentiality of hadron colliders to search for large extra dimensions via the production of photon pairs. The virtual exchange of Kaluza--Klein gravitons can significantly enhance this processes provided the quantum gravity scale ($M_S$) is in the TeV range. We studied in detail the subprocesses $q \bar{q} \to γγ$ and $g g \to γγ$ taking into account the complete Standard Model and graviton contributions as well as the unitarity constraints. We show that the Tevatron Run II will be able to probe $M_S$ up to 1.5--1.9 TeV at 2$σ$ level, while the LHC can extend this search to 5.3-…
We estimate the most important corrections to the branching ratios for the invisible decays of quarkonium states, arising from possible extensions of the standard model. Among the possibilities considered are the presence of extra Z-bosons, minimal supersymmetric extensions of the standard model with R-parity violation, and decays into goldstinos. Prospects of detecting these corrections at existing and future B-factories and tau-charm factories are discussed.
We study the same-sign top pair production mediated by the first Kluza-Klein (KK) excitation of the gluon in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with flavor violation at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), in which the nonuniversal couplings between fermions and KK gauge bosons will lead to observable tree level flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) effects. We find that the same-sign top quarks produced in our case have property of high energy and high transverse momentum, and lead to an observable signal in the same-sign dilepton channel even when the mass of the KK gluon reach up to 3 TeV. We furt…
We solve Einstein equations on the brane to derive the exact form of the braneworld-corrected perturbations in Kerr-Newman singularities, using Randall-Sundrum and Arkani-Hamed-Dimopoulos-Dvali (ADD) models. It is a consequence of such models the possibility that Kerr-Newman mini-black holes can be produced in LHC. We use this approach to derive a normalized correction for the Schwarzschild Myers-Perry radius of a static $(4+n)$-dimensional mini-black hole, using more realistic approaches arising from Kerr-Newman mini-black hole analysis. Besides, we prove that there are four Kerr-Newman black…
We recompute the invisible Higgs decay width arising from Higgs-graviscalar mixing in the ADD model, comparing the original derivation in the non-diagonal mass basis to that in a diagonal mass basis. The results obtained are identical (and differ by a factor of 2 from the original calculation) but the diagonal-basis derivation is pedagogically useful for clarifying the physics of the invisible width from mixing. We emphasize that both derivations make it clear that a direct scan in energy for a process such as $WW\to WW$ mediated by Higgs plus graviscalar intermediate resonances would follow a…
We study the invisible Majorana fermions of $χ$ in bottomed baryon decays with flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) based on the model-independent effective Lagrangian between the quarks and invisible particles. From the bounds of the coupling constants extracted from the experiments, we examine the decay branching ratios of $Λ_b\toΛχχ$, $Ξ_b^{0(-)}\toΞ^{0(-)}χχ$, $Λ_b\to n χχ$, $Ξ_b^{-}\to Σ^{-} χχ$, $Ξ_b^{0}\to Σ^{0} χχ$, and $Ξ_b^{0}\to Λχχ$, which can be as large as $6.3,~9.2,~5.7,~5.8,~2.7$, and $1.0\times10^{-5}$ for $m_χ=2$ GeV, respectively. Some of these decays are accessible to t…
In this paper, we study the FCNC decay processes of $B$ and $B_c$ meson, in which one invisible particle is emitted. Both the spin-0 and spin-1 cases are considered. The model-independent effective Lagrangian is introduced to describe the coupling between the light invisible boson and quarks. The constraints of the coupling coefficients are extracted by experimental upper limits of the missing energy in $B$ meson decays. The bounds are used to predict the upper limits of branching fractions of corresponding $B_c$ decays, which are of the order of $10^{-6}$ or $10^{-5}$ when final meson is pseu…
Search for invisible final states produced at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) by new physics scenarios are normally carried out resorting to a variety of probes emerging from the initial state, in the form of single-jet, -photon and -$Z$ boson signatures. These are particularly effective for models of Supersymmetry (SUSY) in presence of $R$-parity conservation, owing to the presence in their spectra of a stable neutralino as dark matter candidate. We assume here as theoretical framework Supersymmetric ($B-L$) extension of the Standard Model (BLSSM), wherein a mediator for invisible decays can …
Observing light-by-light scattering at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has received quite some attention and it is believed to be a clean and sensitive channel to possible new physics. In this paper, we study the diphoton production at the LHC via the process $\rm pp\rightarrow pγγp\rightarrow pγγp$ through graviton exchange in the Large Extra Dimension (LED) model. Typically, when we do the background analysis, we also study the Double Pomeron Exchange (DPE) of $γγ$ production. We compare its production in the quark-quark collision mode to the gluon-gluon collision mode and find that contribu…
A method to search for particles of unknown masses in final states with two invisible particles is presented. Searching for final states with missing energy is a challenging task usually performed in the tail of a missing energy related distribution. The search method proposed is based on a 2-Dimensional mass reconstruction of the final state with two invisible particles. Thus, a bump hunting is possible, allowing a stronger signal versus background discrimination. Parameters of the BSM theory can be extracted from the mass distributions, a valuable step towards understanding its true nature. …
Two simple ways by which the standard signals of the Standard Model Higgs boson can be depleted are: its couplings to fermions and gauge bosons can be suppressed by a universal factor, and part of its branching fraction can be drained into invisible final states. A large class of theories can impose one or both of these depletion factors, even if mild, by way of additional scalar bosons that are singlets under the Standard Model but mix with the Higgs boson. We perform a comprehensive survey of the present status of the depleted Higgs boson, and discuss future prospects for detecting the prese…
We study the invisible scalar of $S$ in charmed meson and baryon decays with flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) based on the model-independent effective Lagrangian between the quarks and invisible scalar. From the bounds of the coupling constants extracted from the recent BES III experiment on the decay of $D^{0}\toπ^{0}\barνν$, we predict that the decay branching ratios of $D^{+}\toπ^{+}S$, $D_s^+\to K^+S$, $Λ_c\to pS$, $Ξ_c^{0(+)}\to Σ^{0(+)}S$, and $Ξ_c^0\toΛS$ can be as large as $10.6,~2.53,~2.39,~0.963,~5.77$, and $2.92\times10^{-4}$ with $m_{_S}\approx 1.1~{\rm GeV}$, respectively.…
The Higgs invisible decay width may soon become a powerful tool to probe extensions of the Standard Model with dark matter candidates at the Large Hadron Collider. In this work, we calculate the next-to-leading order (NLO) electroweak corrections to the 125 GeV Higgs decay width into two dark matter particles. The model is the next-to-minimal 2-Higgs-doublet model (N2HDM) in the dark doublet phase, that is, only one doublet and the singlet acquire vacuum expectation values. We show that the present measurement of the Higgs invisible branching ratio, BR$(H \to$ invisible $< 0.11$), does not lea…
Assuming flat universal extra dimensions, we demonstrate that for a light Higgs boson the process $pp\to W^*W^* +X \to Higgs, graviscalars +X \to invisible+X$ will be observable at the $5 σ$ level at the LHC for the portion of the Higgs-graviscalar mixing ($ξ$) and effective Planck mass ($M_D$) parameter space where channels relying on visible Higgs decays fail to achieve a $5 σ$ signal. Further, we show that even for very modest values of $ξ$ the invisible decay signal probes to higher $M_D$ than does the ($ξ$-independent) jets/$\gam$ + missing energy signal from graviton radiation. We also di…
Much recent attention has focused on theories with large extra compactified dimensions. However, while the phenomenological implications of the volume moduli associated with such compactifications are well understood, relatively little attention has been devoted to the shape moduli. In this paper, we show that the shape moduli have a dramatic effect on the corresponding Kaluza-Klein spectra: they change the mass gap, induce level crossings, and can even be used to interpolate between theories with different numbers of compactified dimensions. Furthermore, we show that in certain cases it is po…
Establishing that a signal of new physics is undoubtly supersymmetric requires not only the discovery of the supersymmetric partners but also probing their spins and couplings. We show that the sbottom spin can be probed at the CERN Large Hadron Collider using only angular correlations in sbottom pair production with subsequent decay of sbottoms into bottom quark plus the lightest neutralino, which allow us to distinguish a universal extra dimensional interpretation with a fermionic heavy bottom quark from supersymmetry with a bosonic bottom squark. We demonstrate that this channel provides a …
In this paper, we study the light scalar and pseudoscalar invisible particles in the flavor changing neutral current processes of the $B_c$ meson. Effective operators are introduced to describe the couplings between quarks and light invisible particles. The Wilson coefficients are extracted from the experimental results of the $B$ and $D$ mesons, which are used to predict the upper limits of the branching fractions of the similar decay processes for the $B_c$ meson. The hadronic transition matrix element is calculated with the instantaneously approximated Bethe-Salpeter method. The upper limit…
We analyze the potentiality of the CERN Large Hadron Collider to probe the Higgs boson couplings to the electroweak gauge bosons. We parametrize the possible deviations of these couplings due to new physics in a model independent way, using the most general dimension--six effective lagrangian where the SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y is realized linearly. For intermediate Higgs masses, the decay channel into two photons is the most important one for Higgs searches at the LHC. We study the effects of these new interactions on the Higgs production mechanism and its subsequent decay into two photons. We show th…
A light Higgs boson with substantial branching ratio into invisible channels can occur in a variety of models with: light neutralinos, spontaneously broken lepton number, radiatively generated neutrino masses, additional singlet scalar(s) and/or right handed neutrinos in the extra dimensions of TeV scale gravity. We study the observability of the WH and ZH modes at LHC with H decaying invisibly, by carrying out a detailed simulation with two event generators HERWIG and PYTHIA and realistic detector simulations (GETJET and CMSJET). We find that the signal with `single lepton plus missing $E_T$'…
The models based on ${SU}(3)_C\otimes {SU}(3)_L \otimes {U}(1)_X$ gauge group (3-3-1) contain new Higgs bosons and one of them is the SM-like Higgs boson $h$. Production of this Higgs boson at $p p$ colliders in the framework of 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos is calculated. We found that the contribution of the real $Z^\prime$ to the process $pp\to hZ$ is nearly 60 fb if $M_{Z^\prime}$ is about 1 TeV. The decay width and the branching ratios of the $Z'$ extra neutral gauge boson are systematically discussed.
We discuss the signatures, at the LHC, of the (1,0)-th Kaluza-Klein (KK) gluon and quarks in the framework of the two universal extra dimensional (2UED) model. Once produced, these particles typically suffer a cascade of decays terminating in the Dark Matter candidate apart from Standard Model particles. In this article, we are interested in focus on a particular signature of 2UED wherein the final state comprises of at least four jets in association with a hard photon and missing transverse energy. Several kinematic cuts are devised to enhance the signal to background ratio. Finally, as a roa…
The Higgs sector may play an important role in detecting the mirror particles, which can be the candidates of the dark matter and appear as missing energy in the detectors at the LHC. In this paper we worked out the Higgs boson spectrum and the Higgs couplings for the symmetric vacuum, namely $v_1=v_2=v$, in the mirror model, and investigated the constraints from electro-weak precision observable (EWPO). Our study showed that the EWPO has already constrained the Higgs boson sector severely. We then explored the Higgs boson phenomenology, and focused on the scenario that the heavier Higgs boson…
The first limit on the branching ratio of the electric charge-nonconserving invisible muon decay $Br(μ^+ \to invisible) < 5.2 \times 10^{-3}$ is obtained from the recently reported results on new determination of the Fermi constant from muon decays. The results of a feasibility study of a new proposed experiment for a sensitive search for this decay mode at the level of a few parts in 10^{11} are presented. Constrains on the $τ\to invisible$ decay rate are discussed. These leptonic charge-nonconserving processes may hold in four-dimensional world in models with infinite extra dimensions, thus …
We study the supersymmetric version of the type-II seesaw mechanism assuming minimal supergravity boundary conditions. We calculate branching ratios for lepton flavour violating (LFV) scalar tau decays, potentially observable at the LHC, as well as LFV decays at low energy, such as $l_i \to l_j + γ$ and compare their sensitivity to the unknown seesaw parameters. In the minimal case of only one triplet coupling to the standard model lepton doublets, ratios of LFV branching ratios can be related unambigously to neutrino oscillation parameters. We also discuss how measurements of soft SUSY breaki…
We performed a search for a new generic $X$ boson, which could be a scalar ($S$), pseudoscalar ($P$), vector ($V$) or an axial vector ($A$) particle produced in the 100 GeV electron scattering off nuclei, $e^- Z \to e^- Z X$, followed by its invisible decay in the NA64 experiment at CERN. No evidence for such process was found in the full NA64 data set of $2.84\times 10^{11}$ electrons on target. We place new bounds on the $S, P, V, A$ coupling strengths to electrons, and set constraints on their contributions to the electron anomalous magnetic moment $a_e$, $|Δa_{X}| \lesssim 10^{-15} - 10^{-…
We explore the potential of the CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST) for testing the presence of large extra dimensions. The CAST experiment has originally been proposed to search for solar axions with a sensitivity supposed to provide a limit on the axion-photon coupling g_{aγγ}<5x10^{-11} GeV^{-1} or even lower. The expected bound on the coupling constant is by a factor of ten more stringent than the current experimental results. This bound extends for the first time beyond the limit dictated by astrophysical considerations. As a tuning experiment planning to explore the axion mass region up to…
We construct the minimal SUSY model that causes spontaneous CP violation with an abelian flavor symmetry in the context of the large extra dimensions and show that various phenomenological problems can be solved by introducing only scales below the low fundamental scale. We also realize the realistic size of the CP violation and the small masses of the neutrinos. The strong CP problem can be solved by the axion scenario and the axion can be made invisible by introducing an additional large extra dimension.
We consider the mass measurement at hadron colliders for a decay chain of two steps, which ends with a missing particle. Such a topology appears as a subprocess of signal events of many new physics models which contain a dark matter candidate. From the two visible particles coming from the decay chain, only one invariant mass combination can be formed and hence it is naïvely expected that the masses of the three invisible particles in the decay chain cannot be determined from a single end point of the invariant mass distribution. We show that the event distribution in the $\log(E_{1T}/E_{2T})$…
