In this talk we give a brief description of a QCD motivated model for both hard and soft interactions at high energies. In this model the long distance behaviour of the scattering amplitude is determined by the dipole scattering amplitude in the saturation domain. All phenomenological parameters for dipole-proton interaction were fitted from the deep inelastic scattering data and the soft processes are described with only one new parameter, related to the wave function of hadron. It turns out that we do not need to introduce the so called soft Pomeron that has been used in high energy phenomenology for four decades.
On the Parameters of the QCD-Motivated Potential in the Relativistic Independent Quark Model
在相对论独立夸克模型的框架下,基于$1^{--}$介子质量谱计算了QCD激发的静态势参数和夸克质量。计算得到了束缚势系数为($0.197\pm 0.005) GeV$ {}^2 $. for quark- antiquark interaction independently on their flavours. The dependence of the quasi-Coulombic potential strength on the interaction distance are consistent with the QCD-motivated behaviour. The $ q \bar q $-separations are evaluated and the $ e^+e^-$。
A method of evaluation of spacelike QCD observables ${\cal D}(Q^2)$ is developed, motivated by the renormalon structure of these quantities. A related auxiliary quantity ${\widetilde {\cal D}}(Q^2)$ is introduced, which is renomalization scale independent only at the one-loop level, and a large-$β_0$-type renormalon motivated ansatz is made for the Borel transform of this quantity. This leads to a `dressed' Borel transform of the considered observable ${\cal D}(Q^2)$. From there, a Neubert-type distribution is obtained for the observable. The described method is then applied to the massless Ad…
In this paper we describe qualitatively some aspects of the holographic QCD. Inspired by a successfull 4D description, we try to separate the Confinement and the Chiral Symmetry Breaking dynamics. We also discuss the realization of the baryons as skyrmions in Soft Wall Holographic QCD, and the issue of the Vector Meson Dominance.
The results presented in this paper differ from our previous unsuccessful attempt to predict the rapidity distribution at $W = 7 \,TeV$. The original version of our model (GLMM) only summed a particular class of Pomeron diagrams (enhanced diagrams). We believe that this was the reason for our failure to describe the $7 \,TeV$ inclusive LHC data. We have developed a new approach (GLM) that also includes the summation of the semi-enhanced diagrams. This contribution is essential for a successful description of the inclusive distributions, which is presented here.
We present a study of electroexcitation of nucleon resonances with higher spins, in a soft-wall AdS/QCD model, comparing our results with existing data from the CLAS Collaboration at JLab, from MAMI, and other experiments.
We discuss the vertex function of two vector and one axial-vector operators in the soft-wall holographic model of QCD. When one of the two vector currents represents an on-shell soft photon, such a vertex is described by two structure functions $w_L$ and $w_T$, which are usually calculated through triangular loop diagrams. We evaluate these functions in the soft-wall model of holographic QCD (HQCD) and compare the outcome to the QCD findings.
We complete the calculation of the three-gluon-emission contribution to the same-hemisphere part of the zero-jettiness soft function at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD.
We investigate the transverse charge densities of the deuteron in a soft-wall AdS/QCD model by considering both the unpolarized and the transversely polarized cases. The deuteron form factors are derived from the soft-wall AdS/QCD model and it is shown that the calculated results agree with the phenomenological parametrization and experimental data. The transverse charge densities of the deuteron are also derived from the soft-wall AdS/QCD model, and we notice slight deviations from those of the phenomenological parametrization.
We present analytic results that describe fully-differential NNLO QCD corrections to deep-inelastic scattering processes within the nested soft-collinear subtraction scheme. This is the last building block required for the application of this scheme to computations of NNLO QCD corrections to arbitrary processes at hadron colliders.
We consider a modification of the Minimal Analytic (MA) coupling of Shirkov and Solovtsov. This modified MA (mMA) coupling reflects the desired analytic properties of the space-like observables. We show that an approximation by Dirac deltas of its discontinuity function $ρ$ is equivalent to a Padé (rational) approximation of the mMA coupling that keeps its analytic structure. We propose a modification to mMA that, as preliminary results indicate, could be an improvement in the evaluation of low-energy observables compared with other analytic couplings.
We introduce a method for the separation of soft and collinear logarithms in QCD parton evolution at $\mathcal{O}(α_s^2)$ and at leading color. Using an implementation of the technique in the Dire parton shower, we analyze the numerical impact of genuine triple-collinear corrections from quark pair emission in $e^+e^-\to$ hadrons.
We present a study of the $N^*(1535)$ resonance electroexcitation in a soft-wall AdS/QCD model. Both the transverse $A_{1/2}^p$ and longitudinal $S_{1/2}^p$ helicity amplitudes are calculated resulting in good agreement with data and with the MAID parametrization.
We present analytic formulas that describe fully-differential production of color-singlet final states in $q\bar q$ and $gg$ annihilation, including all the relevant partonic channels, through NNLO QCD. We work within the nested soft-collinear scheme which allows for fully local subtraction of infrared divergences. We demonstrate analytic cancellation of soft and collinear poles and present formulas for finite parts of all integrated subtraction terms. These results provide an important building block for calculating NNLO QCD corrections to arbitrary processes at hadron colliders within the ne…
We study further the soft-wall AdS/QCD model with a cubic potential for the bulk scalar. We analyze the spectra of pseudoscalar, scalar, vector and axial-vector mesons. We also study the spin-1/2 nucleon spectrum and the pion-nucleon coupling. All of them have a good agreement with the experimental data.
In this paper we construct a model that satisfies the theoretical requisites of high energy soft interactions, based on two ingredients:(i) the results of N=4 SYM, which at present is a unique theory that allows one to deal with a large coupling constant; and (ii) the requirement of matching with high energy QCD. In accordance with these ideas, we assume that the soft Pomeron intercept is rather large, and the slope of the Pomeron trajectory is equal to zero. We derive analytical formulae that sum both enhanced and semi-enhanced diagrams for elastic and diffractive amplitudes. We fit the avail…
We construct an improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model with a cubic coupling term of the dilaton and the bulk scalar field. The background fields in this model are solved from the Einstein-dilaton system with a nontrivial dilaton potential, which has been shown to be able to reproduce the equation of state from lattice QCD with two flavors. The chiral transition behaviors are investigated in the improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model with the solved gravitational background, and the crossover transition can be realized. Our study provides a possibility to address the deconfining and chiral phase transitio…
We incorporate chiral symmetry breaking in a soft-wall version of the AdS/QCD model by using a modified dilaton profile and a quartic term in the bulk scalar potential. This allows one to separate the dependence on spontaneous and explicit chiral symmetry breaking. The resulting mass spectra in the scalar, vector and axial-vector sectors compares favorably with the respective QCD resonances.
I consider the three-point function of two vector and one axial-vector currents. In the kinematic configuration in which one of the two vector currents corresponds to an on-shell soft photon, such a vertex is described in QCD by two functions, $w_L$ and $w_T$. After reviewing the properties of these functions in QCD, I describe the result obtained using the soft-wall holographic model of QCD with the addition of the Chern-Simons term and I compare it with the QCD outcome. I also discuss a relation, proposed by Son and Yamamoto, that connects $w_L$ and $w_T$ to the two-point functions $Π_{VV}$ …
The purpose of this paper is to further study the soft-wall AdS/QCD model with constrained IR background. By including a quartic bulk scalar potential we study various meson and nucleon spectra. This model naturally realizes the asymptotical linearity of these mass spectra simultaneously, together with correctly pattern of explicit and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking. The agreement between the theoretical calculations and the experimental data is good.
We study the vertex function of two vector and one axial-vector operators in the soft-wall holographic model of QCD. In particular, we discuss the possible relation, introduced by Son and Yamamoto, between the structure function $w_T$ describing such a vertex when one of the two vector currents represents an on-shell soft photon and the the two-point $Π_\perp^{VV}-Π_\perp^{AA}$ correlation function.
We calculate the one-loop correction to the soft-gluon current with massive fermions. This current is process independent and controls the singular behavior of one-loop massive QCD amplitudes in the limit when one external gluon becomes soft. The result derived in this work is the last missing process-independent ingredient needed for numerical evaluation of observables with massive fermions at hadron colliders at the next-to-next-to-leading order.
We extend our two component Pomeron model (GLMM) for soft high energy scattering to single inclusive cross sections. We present a suitable formulation which also includes the semi enhanced Pomeron-particle vertex corrections. The available data on single inclusive density $(1/σ_{in})dσ/dy$ in the c.m. energy range of 200-1800 GeV, including the just published Alice Collaboration point at 900 GeV,and the CMS collaboration measurements at 900 and 2360 GeV are well reproduced by our model. We also present predictions covering the complete LHC energy range which can be readily tested in the early …
We consider the vertex function of two vector and one axial-vector currents using the soft-wall holographic model of QCD with the Chern-Simons term. Two structure functions $w_L$ and $w_T$ describe such a vertex in the special case in which one of the two vector currents corresponds to an on-shell soft photon. We briefly review the QCD results for these functions, obtained from triangular loop diagrams with quarks having mass $m_q=0$ or $m_q \neq 0$, we compute $w_L$ and $w_T$ in the soft-wall model and compare the outcome to the QCD findings. We also calculate and discuss the two-point $Π_{VV…
We consider the radiation of a soft gluon ($g$) and a soft quark-antiquark ($q{\bar q}$) pair in QCD hard scattering. In the soft limit the scattering amplitude has a singular behaviour that is factorized and controlled by a soft current, which has a process-independent structure in colour space. We evaluate the soft $gq{\bar q}$ current at the tree level for an arbitrary multiparton scattering process. The irreducible correlation component of the current includes strictly non-abelian terms and also terms with an abelian character. Analogous abelian correlations appear for soft photon-lepton-a…
Holographic soft-wall model is successful in the phenomenology of hadrons. Here with the use of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) obtained from AdS/QCD, perturbative effects are entered into the formalism. Perturbations are incorporated in the formalism through the evolution of GPDs according to the DGLAP like equations. Evolved proton GPDs are compared with a phenomenological model to show that we can get good improvements of the holographic model. It seems that combining the holographic soft-wall model with perturbative effects to some extent, gives the correct physics of GPDs.
By requiring the correct Regge behavior in both meson and nucleon sectors, we determine the infrared asymptotic behavior of various background fields in the soft-wall AdS/QCD model, including the dilaton, the warp factor, and the scalar VEV. We then use a simple parametrization which smoothly connect these IR limits and their usual UV limits. The resulting spectrum is compared with experimental data, and the agreement between them is good.
We consider the definition of a transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution function (TMDPDF) and its evolution properties given a factorization theorem of Drell- Yan lepton pair production with a non-vanishing transverse momentum. We discuss rapidity divergences that exist in both limits of QCD: the soft and collinear. We argue that only when a specific combination of the soft and collinear matrix elements is formed, rapidity divergences cancel. We also argue that the soft matrix element, calculated in perturbation theory, contains only rapidity divergences and there is no genuine long-…
We derive the complete factorization formula for the leading power contribution in wide angle Compton scattering. It consists of the soft- and hard-spectator contributions. The hard-spectator contribution is well known and defined in the form of the convolution of a hard kernel with the nucleon distribution amplitudes. The soft-spectator contribution describes the scattering which involves the soft modes. We use the soft collinear effective theory in order to define this term in a field theoretical approach. Using the SCET framework we provide the proof of the factorization formula. We also co…
We present a fully differential description of a decay of a scalar Higgs boson into massive b-quarks valid at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbative quantum chromodynamics (QCD). We work within the nested soft-collinear subtraction scheme extended to accommodate massive partons. We include the loop-induced contribution involving a Higgs coupling to a top quark. We test our calculation against results existing in the literature, comparing the predictions for the total decay width and jet rates.
Hybrid mesons with exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC}=1^{-+}$ are examined in soft-wall AdS/QCD. The predicted mass spectrum is compared to the measured values of the candidates $π_1(1400)$, $π_1(1600)$ and $π_1(2015)$. Thermal effects are analysed through the spectral function in the AdS-Black Hole model, and the differences with the Hawking-Page description are discussed.
We make some educated guesses for the extrapolations of typical soft-inclusive (minimum-bias, pileup, underlying-event) observables to proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies in the range 13 - 100 TeV. The numbers should be interpreted with (at least) a 10% uncertainty.
