The mapping between bulk supergravity fields in anti-de Sitter space and operators in the dual boundary conformal field theory usually relies heavily on the available global symmetries. In the present work, we study a generalization of this mapping to time dependent situations, for the simple case of collapsing shock waves in two spacetime dimensions. The construction makes use of analyticity of the conformal field theory and the properties of the asymptotic bulk geometry to reconstruct the non-analytic bulk observables. Many of the features of this construction are expected to apply to higher dimensional asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes and their conformal field theory duals.
We do more discussions of holographic s-wave superconductors in the background of AdS3 spacetime. We analytically compute the holographic superconductor model with the motion equation has two different characteristic root on the framework of Maxwell electrodynamics field. We study superconductor models on the framework of Born-Infeld electrodynamics field and on the framework of the Stückelberg form in the background of AdS3 spacetime.
We look into the $AdS$ black holes from two-dimensional gravity perspective. In this work, we extend the previous results of holographic renormalization group flows to dimensions two. By introducing a superpotential, we derive the flow equations in two-dimensional dilaton gravity. We find a quantity which monotonically decreases along flows and give some comments on holographic $c$-theorem. As examples, we show that recently studied supersymmetric $AdS$ black hole solutions generically dimensionally reduce to two-dimensional dilaton gravity, and obtain the flow equations for black hole solutio…
The holographic principle, being a generic feature of quantum gravity, should allow for the consideration of dualities other than AdS/CFT. The AdS/BCFT correspondence, in which the dual field theory has local conformal symmetry and is defined on a manifold with boundary, is one such example. Inspired by the quotienting of AdS$_3$ by spacetime isometries in order to construct multiboundary wormholes dual to multipartite CFT$_2$ states, we find that this correspondence can be understood by combining AdS/CFT with some appropriate quotient procedure. Furthermore, in three bulk dimensions, we find …
We perform the potential analysis for the holographic Schwinger effect in a deformed $AdS_5$ model with conformal invariance broken by a background dilaton. We evaluate the static potential by analyzing the classical action of a string attaching the rectangular Wilson loop on a probe D3 brane sitting at an intermediate position in the bulk AdS space. We observe that the inclusion of chemical potential tends to enhance the production rate, reverse to the effect of confining scale. Also, we calculate the critical electric field by Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) action.
We discuss marginal deformations of warped AdS$_3\times$S$^2$ solutions preserving small $\mathcal{N}=(0,4)$ supersymmetry in massive IIA and eleven-dimensional supergravity and obtain a whole family of new solutions. We characterise these new backgrounds by studying some observables like the quantised charges, associated Hannany-Witten brane set-ups and the holographic central charge, the latter is shown to be invariant under the deformation. The study of the preservation of supersymmetry shows that the new backgrounds support an identity structure on the internal five-dimensional space, whic…
We consider the 5d Kerr-AdS black hole as a gravity dual to rotating quark-gluon plasma. In the holographic prescription we calculate the drag force acting on a heavy quark. According to the holographic approach a heavy quark can be considered through the string in the gravity dual. We study the dynamics of the string for the Kerr-AdS backgrounds with one non-zero rotational parameter and two non-zero rotational parameters that are equal in magnitude. For the case of one non-zero rotational parameter we find good agreement with the prediction from the 4d case considered by arXiv:1012.3800).
In this paper, we consider AdS$_3$ with Comp$\grave{\mathrm{e}}$re-Song-Strominger (CSS) boundary conditions, under which the dual field theory is warped conformal field theory (WCFT), featuring a Virasoro-Kac-Moody algebra. We provide a holographic dual picture of the single interval entanglement entropy in WCFT in the bulk AdS$_3$. We explicitly show that the bulk object captures the entanglement entropy in WCFT is a massive spinning particle's worldline that anchored on the boundary of the interval. Given the mass and spin of the particle as functions of quantum numbers of the twist operato…
Holographic model of massive scalar field with its self-interaction $λϕ^n$ in AdS space is able to give a logarithmic scale dependence to marginal multi trace deformation couplings on its dual conformal field theory, where $λ$ is the self-interaction coupling of the scalar field, $ϕ$ and $n$ is an integral number. In arXiv:1501.06664, the authors realize this feature by looking at bulk scalar solutions near AdS boundary imposing a specific boundary condition between the coefficients of non-normalizable and normalizable modes of the scalar field excitations. We study the same holographic model …
We substantiate a covariant proposal for the holographic reflected entropy in $CFT$s dual to non-static $AdS$ geometries from the bulk extremal entanglement wedge cross section in the literature with explicit computations in the $AdS_3/CFT_2$ scenario. In this context we obtain the reflected entropy for zero and finite temperature time dependent bipartite mixed states in $CFT_{1+1}$s with a conserved charge dual to bulk rotating extremal and non-extremal BTZ black holes through a replica technique. Our results match exactly with the corresponding extremal entanglement wedge cross section for t…
In earlier work the evolution operator for the exact RG equation was mapped to a field theory in Euclidean AdS. This gives a simple way of understanding AdS/CFT. We explore aspects of this map by studying a simple example of a Schroedinger equation for a free particle with time dependent mass. This is an analytic continuation of an ERG like equation. We show for instance that it can be mapped to a harmonic oscillator. We show that the same techniques can lead to an understanding of dS/CFT too.
We study the time evolution of entanglement entropy in expanding universes with various matters. To describe expanding universes holographically, we take into account a braneworld moving in an asymptotic AdS space involving a uniform $p$-brane gas. In the braneworld model, an observer living in the braneworld detects the bulk motion of the braneworld as an expanding universe. We show that the entanglement entropy of expanding universes increases by the volume law in the early time and by the area law in the late time. We further consider the cosmological horizon, which is the border of the vis…
We propose a holographic entanglement entropy prescription for general states and regions in two models of holography beyond AdS/CFT known as flat$_3$/BMSFT and (W)AdS$_3$/WCFT. Flat$_3$/BMSFT is a candidate of holography for asymptotically flat three-dimensional spacetimes, while (W)AdS$_3$/WCFT is relevant in the study of black holes in the real world. In particular, the boundary theories are examples of quantum field theories that feature an infinite dimensional symmetry group but break Lorentz invariance. Our holographic entanglement entropy proposal is given by the area of a swing surface…
We investigate numerically $f(R)$ gravity effects on certain AdS/CFT tools including holographic entanglement entropy and two-point correlation functions for a charged single accelerated Anti-de Sitter black hole in four dimensions. We find that both holographic entanglement entropy and two-point correlation functions decrease by increasing acceleration parameter $A$, matching perfectly with literature. Taking into account the $f(R)$ gravity parameter $η$, the decreasing scheme of the holographic quantities persist. However, we observe a transition-like point where the behavior of the holograp…
We study classical M5 brane solutions in the probe limit in the $AdS_7\times S^4$ background geometry that preserve the minimal amount of supersymmetry. These solutions describe the holography of codimension-2 defects in the 6d boundary dual N=(0,2) supersymmetric gauge theories. The general solution is described in terms of holomorphic functions that satisfy a scaling condition. We show the behavior of the world-volume of a special class of BPS solutions near the AdS boundary region can be characterized by general equations, which describe it as intersections of the zeros of holomorphic funct…
We refine the calculation of holographic complexity of black holes in the complexity equals action approach by applying the recently introduced criterion that the action of any causal diamond in static vacuum regions must vanish identically. This criterion fixes empty anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime as the reference state with vanishing complexity and renders holographic complexity explicitly finite in all the cases we consider. The cases considered here include the Reissner-Nordström-AdS black hole, the rotating BTZ black hole, the Kerr-AdS black hole, and AdS-Vaidya spacetime. The criterion i…
