Here $f(R)$-cosmology is discussed using a different approach. This model explains early-inflation, emergence of cosmic background radiation at the exit from inflation, cosmic deceleration during radiation-dominance followed by deceleration due to curvature-induced matter and acceleration in the very late universe due to curvature-induced phantom dark energy. This model predicts collapse in the future universe. Further, a possible avoidence of collapse as well as revival of very early universe is suggested.
This manuscript investigate the dark energy Bianchi type-I cosmological models in presence of generalized Chaplygin gas, variable gravitational and cosmological constants. In this manuscript, exact solutions of Einstein field equations are obtained under the assumption of time periodic varying deceleration parameter. The physical and dynamical behaviors of the models have been discussed with the help of graphical representations. Also we have discussed the stability and physical acceptability of the obtained solutions
In this paper, a stable flat cosmological model has been constructed and the evolution of dark energy has been investigated in the framework of the recently suggested $κ(R,T)$ gravity. The empirical approach we adopt in the current work reveals some interesting cosmological features consistent with observations and the standard $Λ$CDM model. The evolution of cosmic pressure shows a positive-to-negative transition corresponding to the cosmic deceleration-acceleration transition, both the deceleration parameter and the cosmic pressure have the positive-to-negative sign flipping. While this behav…
In this work a new law of varying deceleration parameter of third degree have been proposed. The solutions of the modified field equations have been derived under the newly proposed law of the deceleration parameter. Model exhibits the Big-bang singularity at cosmic time ($t=0$) and shows Big Rip at ($t=n$) then it re-enter the phase of initial singularity at $t=2n$ and ends its cyclic behavior at $t=3n$. The evolution of the physical and dynamical parameters of the Universe have been studied and the graphical representation has also been shown. Further $Om(z)$ diagnostic parameter and the ene…
A new method for constructing exact inhomogeneous universes is presented, that allows variation in 3 dimensions. The resulting spacetime may be statistically uniform on average, or have random, non-repeating variation. The construction utilises the Darmois junction conditions to join many different component spacetime regions. In the initial simple example given, the component parts are spatially flat and uniform, but much more general combinations should be possible. Further inhomogeneity may be added via swiss cheese vacuoles and inhomogeneous metrics. This model is used to explore the propo…
A new expression to the total age of the Universe is derived in terms of the average deceleration parameter. This kinematic result holds regardless of the curvature of the universe as well as of the underlying gravity theory. It remains valid even in the context of brane-world motivated cosmologies. Since the present age parameter of the Universe is accurately adjusted to $H_0t_0 = 1$, it is shown that the time averaged value of the deceleration parameter is zero. This also means that the cosmic age today is exactly the one predicted by a relativistic flat cosmological model filled by K-matter…
We investigate the interacting holographic dark energy (HDE) with Granda-Oliveros (GO) IR-cutoff in the framework of Brans-Dicke (BD) cosmology. We obtain the equation of state (EoS) parameter of HDE, $w_D$, the effective EoS parameter $w_{\mathrm{eff}}$, the deceleration parameter $q $ and the squared of sound speed $v_s^2$ in a flat FRW universe. We show that at late time the cosmic coincidence problem can be alleviated. Also we show that for non-interacting case, HDE can give a unified dark matter-dark energy profile in BD cosmology, except that it cannot solve the coincidence problem in th…
In the early seventies, Alan Sandage defined cosmology as the search for two numbers: Hubble parameter ${{H}_{0}}$ and deceleration parameter ${{q}_{0}}$. The first of the two basic cosmological parameters (the Hubble parameter) describes the linear part of the time dependence of the scale factor. Treating the Universe as a dynamical system it is natural to assume that it is non-linear: indeed, linearity is nothing more than approximation, while non-linearity represents the generic case. It is evident that future models of the Universe must take into account different aspects of its evolution.…
We investigate the FLRW type cosmology of the Induced Dark Energy model and illustrate that the extra terms emerging from the fifth dimension can play the role of dark energy. The model predicts the expansion with deceleration at early time and acceleration in late time for an open universe.
We explore a spatially homogeneous and isotropic Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe which is filled with agegraphic dark energy (ADE) with mutual interaction with pressureless dark matter in the background of Brans-Dicke (BD) theory. We consider both original and new type of agegraphic dark energy (NADE) and further assume the sign of the interaction term can change during the history of the Universe. We obtain the equation of state parameter, the deceleration parameter and the evolutionary equation for the sign-changeable interacting ADE and NADE in BD theory. We find that, in both mod…
This paper deals with a spatially homogeneous and totally anisotropic Bianchi type-V cosmological model within the framework of self interacting Brans Dicke theory of gravity in the background of anisotropic dark energy (DE) with variable equation of state (EoS) parameter and constant deceleration parameter. Constant deceleration parameter leads to two models of universe, i.e. power law model and exponential model. EoS parameter ω and its existing range for the models is in good agreement with the most recent observational data. We notice that ω given by (37) i.e ω(t) = log(k1t) is more suitab…

We investigate the cosmic acceleration and the evolution of dark energy across the cosmological constant boundary in universal extra dimensions UED. We adopt an empirical approach to solve the higher-dimensional cosmological equations so that the deceleration parameter $q$ is consistent with observations. The expressions for the jerk and deceleration parameters are independent of the number of dimensions $n$. The behavior of pressure in $4$D shows a positive-to-negative transition corresponding to the deceleration-to-acceleration cosmic transition. This pressure behavior helps in providing an …
In this paper, we show that the expansion history of the Universe in power-law cosmology essentially depends on two crucial parameters, namely the Hubble constant $H_{0}$ and deceleration parameter $q$. We find the constraints on these parameters from the latest $H(z)$ and SNe Ia data. At 1$σ$ level the constraints from $H(z)$ data are obtained as $q=-0.18_{-0.12}^{+0.12}$ and $H_{0}=68.43_{-2.80}^{+2.84}$ km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$ while the constraints from the SNe Ia data read as $q=-0.38_{-0.05}^{+0.05}$ and $H_{0}=69.18_{-0.54}^{+0.55}$ km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$. We also perform the joint test u…
We present a special case of the Stephani solution with spherical symmetry while considering different values of spatial curvature. We investigate the dynamics of the universe evolution in our model, build the R--T-regions for the resulting spacetime and analyze the behavior of the deceleration parameter. The singularities of the model are also discussed. The geometry of the spatial part of the obtained solution is explored.
We use the hybrid model of bulk viscosity and generalized chaplygin gas (GCG), named the viscous generalized chaplygin gas (VGCG) model, which is thought to be an alternate dark fluid of the universe. We explore the dynamics of the VGCG model in the framework of the non-metricity $f(Q)$ gravity using the functional form $f(Q)=βQ^n$, where $β$ and $n$ are arbitrary constants. For the purpose of constraining model parameters, we use recent observational datasets such as Observational Hubble data, Baryon Acoustic Oscillations, and Type $Ia$ supernovae data. According to our study, the evolution o…
For the fractional action cosmological model, derived earlier by the author from the variational principle for a fractional action functional, the exact solutions are obtained. The case of a quasi - vacuum state of matter that fills the universe is considered. Moreover, on the basis of specific ansatz proposed in this paper for the cosmological term, the class of exact solutions of the model equations is obtained. Examples for some given laws of the cosmological term evolution are provided. Besides, a formula for the effective equation of state is derived, and the deceleration parameter of the…
The present paper is elaborated to discuss the energy condition bounds in a modified teleparallel gravity namely $F(T,T_{G})$, involving torsion invariant $T$ and contribution from a term $T_G$, the teleparallel equivalent of the Gauss-Bonnet term. For this purpose, we consider flat FRW universe with matter contents as perfect fluid. We formulate the SEC, NEC, WEC and DEC in terms of some cosmic parameters including Hubble, deceleration, jerk and snap parameters. By taking two interesting models for $F(T,T_{G})$ and some recent limits of these cosmic parameters, we explore the constraints on t…
In this paper, we study the possibility of obtaining a stable flat dark energy-dominated universe in a good agreement with observations in the framework of Swiss-cheese Brane-world cosmology. Two different Brane-world cosmologies with black strings have been introduced for any cosmological constant $Λ$ using two empirical forms of the scale factor. In both models, we have performed a fine-tuning between the brane tension and the cosmological constant so that the EoS parameter $ω(t)\rightarrow -1$ for the current epoch where the redshift $z\simeq 0$. We then used these fine-tuned values to calc…
In this paper, we have studied the bouncing behavior of the cosmological models formulated at the background of the Hubble function in the F(R, G) theory of gravity, where R and G denote the Ricci scalar and Gauss-Bonnet invariant. The actions of bouncing cosmology are studied under consideration of different viable models and can resolve the difficulty of singularity in standard Big-Bang cosmology. Both models show bouncing behavior and satisfy the bouncing cosmological properties. Models based on dynamical, deceleration, and energy conditions indicate the accelerating behavior at the late ev…

In this paper, we have examined the recently proposed modified symmetric teleparallel gravity, in which gravitational Lagrangian is given by an arbitrary function of non-metricity scalar $Q$. We have considered a constant jerk parameter to express the Hubble rate. Moreover, we have used 31 points of OHD datasets and 1701 points of Pantheon+ datasets to constraint our model parameters by means of the Markov Chain Monte Carlo analysis. The mean values and the best fit obtained give a consistent Hubble rate and deceleration parameter compared to the observation values. In order to study the curre…
In this paper we consider tachyonic matter in spatially at FRW universe, and obtain behavior of some important cosmological parameters for two special cases of potentials. First we assume the exponential potential and then consider hyperbolic cosine type potential. In both cases we obtain behavior of the Hubble, deceleration and EoS parameters. Comparison with observational data suggest the model with hyperbolic cosine type scalar-field potentials has good model to describe universe.
In the present model, a unified picture of cosmology from early inflation to late acceleration is obtained from $ f(R)-$ gravity with non-linear terms $ R^2 $ and $ R^5 $ of scalar curvature $R$. It is discussed that elementary particles and radiation are produced during early inflation. The emitted radiation thermalizes the universe to a very high temperature $ \sim 10^{18}{\rm GeV}$. The exit of the universe from inflationary phase is followed by deceleration due to radiation-dominance heralding the standard cosmology with background radiation having the initial temperature $ \sim 10^{18}{\r…
We investigate an interacting two-fluid model in a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) Universe, when the energy transfer between these two dark components is produced by a factorisable nonlinear sign-changeable interaction depending linearly on the energy density and quadratically on the deceleration parameter. We solve the source equation and obtain the effective energy densities of the dark sector and their components. We show that the effective equation of state of the dark sector includes some of the several kind of Chaplygin gas equations of state as well as a gener…
In the framework of noncompact Kaluza-Klein theory, we investigate a $(4+1)$-dimensional universe consisting of a $(4+1)$ dimensional Robertson-Walker type metric coupled to a $(4+1)$ dimensional energy-momentum tensor. The matter part consists of an energy density together with a pressure subject to 4D part of the $(4+1)$ dimensional energy-momentum tensor. The dark part consists of just a dark pressure $\bar{p}$, corresponding to the extra-dimension endowed by a scalar field, with no element of dark energy. It is shown that for a flat universe, coupled with the non-vacuum states of the scala…
Using the Tsallis generalized entropy, holographic hypothesis and also considering the Hubble horizon as the IR cutoff, we build a holographic model for dark energy and study its cosmological consequences in the Brans-Dicke framework. At first, we focus on a non-interacting universe, and thereinafter, we study the results of considering a sign-changeable interaction between the dark sectors of the cosmos. Our investigations show that, compared with the flat case, the power and freedom of the model in describing the cosmic evolution is significantly increased in the presence of the curvature. T…
We consider Brans-Dicke cosmology with cosmological constant with negative w parameter and an arbitrary (in general non-vanishing) scale factor at the Big Bang. The field equations describe the flat universe, current observational values for Hubble constant H and deceleration parameter q play a role of initial conditions. In order to solve field equations we adopt the approach of Uehara and Kim (1982). They considered only positive values of w, hence our solution is a new one and has not been described in their paper. Our main result is that unlike the standard cosmology the scale factor may n…
The present work is based on a parametric reconstruction of the deceleration parameter $q(z)$ in a model for the spatially flat FRW universe filled with dark energy and non-relativistic matter. In cosmology, the parametric reconstruction technique deals with an attempt to build up a model by choosing some specific evolution scenario for a cosmological parameter and then estimate the values of the parameters with the help of different observational datasets. In this paper, we have proposed a logarithmic parametrization of $q(z)$ to probe the evolution history of the universe. Using the type Ia …
Here, cosmology of the late and future universe is obtained from $f(R)$-gravity with non-linear curvature terms $R^2$ and $R^3$ ($R$ being the Ricci scalar curvature). It is different from $f(R)$-dark enrgy models, where non-linear curvature terms are taken as gravitational alternative of dark energy. In the present model, neither linear nor no-linear curvature terms are taken as dark energy. Rather, dark energy terms are induced by curvature terms in the Friedmann equation derived from $f(R)$-gravitational equations. It has advantage over $f(R)$- dark energy models in the sense that the prese…
The present study deals with a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi-II cosmological model representing massive strings. The energy-momentum tensor, as formulated by Letelier (1983), has been used to construct a massive string cosmological model for which the expansion scalar is proportional to one of the components of shear tensor. The Einstein's field equations have been solved by applying a variation law for generalized Hubble's parameter that yields a constant value of deceleration parameter in Bianchi-II space-time. A comparative study of accelerating and decelerating modes of the…
A new varying-$c$ cosmological model constructed using two additional assumptions, which was introduced in our previous work, is briefly reviewed and the dynamic equation of the model is derived distinctly from a semi-Newtonian approach. The results of this model, using a $Λ$ term and an extra energy-momentum tensor, are considered separately. It is shown that the Universe began from a hot Big Bang and expands forever with a constant deceleration parameter regardless of its curvature. Finally, the age, the radius, and the energy content of the Universe are estimated and some discussion about t…
The paper deals with non-equilibrium thermodynamics based on adiabatic particle creation mechanism with the motivation of considering it as an alternative choice to explain the recent observed accelerating phase of the universe. Using Friedmann equations, it is shown that the deceleration parameter ($q$) can be obtained from the knowledge of the particle production rate ($Γ$). Motivated from thermodynamical point of view, cosmological solutions are evaluated for the particle creation rates in three cosmic phases, namely, inflation, matter dominated and present late time acceleration. The decel…
The metric $f(R)$ theories of gravity are generalized to five-dimensional spacetimes. By assuming a hypersurface-orthogonal Killing vector field representing the compact fifth dimension, the five-dimensional theories are reduced to their four-dimensional formalism. Then we study the cosmology of a special class of $f(R)=αR^m$ models in a spatially flat FRW spacetime. It is shown that the parameter $m$ can be constrained to a certain range by the current observed deceleration parameter, and its lower bound corresponds to the Kaluza-Klein theory. It turns out that both expansion and contraction …
We investigate the cosmological consequences of the modified Friedmann equations when the entropy associated with the apparent horizon, given by Barrow entropy, $S\sim A^{1+δ/2}$, where $0\leqδ\leq1$, represents the amount of the quantum-gravitational deformation of the horizon. We study implications of this model in a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe with/without cosmological constant. Taking the cosmological constant into account, this model can describe the current accelerated expansion, although the transition from deceleration phase to the acceleration phase takes place in t…
Rényi holographic dark energy (RHDE) correspondence is discussed in higher dimensional cosmology, namely Kaluza-Klein (KK) cosmology. Both interacting and non-interacting cosmological scenario are considered here. It is found that the non-interacting model naturally leads to the late accelerated universe, unlike the standard Holographic Dark Energy models in 4$D$, which requires interaction to accommodate the late-time acceleration of the universe. The interacting model produces an accelerating universe at late time albeit failing to attain the estimated present value of the deceleration param…
Old and new puzzles of cosmology are reexamined from the point of view of quantum theory of the universe developed here. It is shown that in proposed approach the difficulties of the standard cosmology do not arise. The theory predicts the observed dimensions of the nonhomogeneities of matter density and the amplitude of the fluctuations of the cosmic background radiation temperature in the Universe and points to a new quantum mechanism of their origin. It allows to obtain the value of the deceleration parameter which is in good agreement with the recent SNe Ia measurements. The theory explain…
In the present work we discuss a third alternative to explain the latest observational data concerning the accelerating Universe and its different stages. The particle creation mechanism in the framework of non-equilibrium thermodynamics is considered as a basic cosmic mechanism acting on the flat FRW geometry. By assuming that the gravitationally induced particle production occurs under "adiabatic" conditions, the deceleration parameter is expressed in terms of the particle creation rate which is chosen as a truncated power series of the Hubble parameter. The model shows the evolution of the …
The article communicates an alternative route to suffice the late-time acceleration considering a bulk viscous fluid with viscosity coefficient $ζ=ζ_{0}+ ζ_{1} H + ζ_{2} H^{2}$, where $ζ_{0}, ζ_{1}, ζ_{2}$ are constants in the framework of $f(R,T)$ modified gravity. We presume the $f(R,T)$ functional form to be $f=R+2αT$ where $α$ is a constant. We then solve the field equations for the Hubble Parameter and study the cosmological dynamics of kinematic variables such as deceleration, jerk, snap and lerk parameters as a function of cosmic time. We observe the deceleration parameter to be highly …
In this paper, we consider a simple form of expansion history of Universe referred to as the hybrid expansion law - a product of power-law and exponential type of functions. The ansatz by construction mimics the power-law and de Sitter cosmologies as special cases but also provides an elegant description of the transition from deceleration to cosmic acceleration. We point out the Brans-Dicke realization of the cosmic history under consideration. We construct potentials for quintessence, phantom and tachyon fields, which can give rise to the hybrid expansion law in general relativity. We invest…
In the last years, we saw more and more attempts to explain dark matter as a general relativistic effect, at least for some fraction. Following this philosophy, we considered the gravitational distortions due to the inhomogeneous distribution of matter in the universe, which we know from general relativity to be retarded distortions. This provides a magnification effect, since the distortions we feel now depend not on the present matter density, but on the past one, which is greater. The expansion rate of the universe is perturbed as well, in a not negligible way, despite matter inhomogeneitie…
Cosmic acceleration may be the result of unknown physical processes involving either new fields in high energy physics or modifications of gravitation theory. In the latter case, such modifications are usually related to the existence of extra dimensions (which is also required by unification theories), giving rise to the so-called brane cosmology. In this paper we investigate the phenomenon of the acceleration of the Universe in a particular class of brane scenarios in which a large scale modification of gravity arises due to a gravitational \emph{leakage} into extra dimensions. By using the …
We discuss the cosmological implications of an extended Brans-Dicke theory presented recently, in which there is an energy exchange between the scalar field and ordinary matter, determined by the theory. A new mass scale is generated in the theory which modifies the Friedmann equations with field-dependent corrected kinetic terms. In a radiation universe the general solutions are found and there are branches with complete removal of the initial singularity, while at the same time a transient accelerating period can occur within deceleration. Entropy production is also possible in the early uni…
Recently, the cosmological deceleration-acceleration transition redshift in $f(R)$ gravity has been considered in order to address consistently the problem of cosmic evolution. It is possible to show that the deceleration parameter changes sign at a given redshift according to observational data. Furthermore, a $f(R)$ gravity cosmological model can be constructed in brane-antibrane system starting from the very early universe and accounting for the cosmological redshift at all phases of cosmic history, from inflation to late time acceleration. Here we propose a $f(R)$ model where transition re…
In this paper we demonstrate that with vacuum $F(G)$ gravity it is possible to describe the unification of late and early-time acceleration eras with the radiation and matter domination era. The Hubble rate of the unified evolution contains two mild singularities, so called Type IV singularities, and the evolution itself has some appealing features, such as the existence of a deceleration-acceleration transition at late times. We also address quantitatively a fundamental question related to modified gravity models description of cosmological evolution: Is it possible for all modified gravity d…
